Candy Crush Saga Level 158 Tips and video.

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 158 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie

Tips: Level 158 is classified as a hard level so you may lose some lives before you manage to pass it. This is an order level, you have to collect the two cherries to complete the level. You need to clear the blockers below the cherries to allow them to drop down to the exits at the bottom. You will need to use stripes and stripe combos to clear the blockers sine there are no candies in the side columns. However, you will get stripes dropping into the side columns once the cherries begin to drop down, so try to clear the highest blockers beneath the cherries first so there is room for the stripes to drop. Once you get two stripes above the cherries you can switch them together to help clear the blockers, but you will need to work your way down the middle part of the board so you will be able to make stripes and combos there to clear the blockers.

If the level you play is different from the one here it is because the developers have changed it since I played and I have no control over this. Please let me know on our FB group and I will try to change it.

This level is obviously pretty easy when you start off with a configuration that allows you to start clearing candies on the right side and set up horizontal stripes on the left side. Please post one where you start with no combos on the right side and no way to get horizontal stripes on the left side. As is, this video is not much of a walkthrough.

No kidding - when does the game EVER start with such a perfect set up!

You just have to keep playing the same game over and over for weeks and weeks as many times per day as you can manage until finally, ONE day, if you are very LUCKY, it will set up nicely for you. Yeah, sadly, some of the levels need more LUCK than SKILL...though once you get a lucky set-up, skill does still come in handy.

so hate this level

If you happen to be playing on your phone, you can go into the level, see if its set up the way you want it and if not, before you make any moves, press the "back" button on your phone. It'll take you back to the trail without taking a life then you just go back in etc till you like the way its set up :)

What is the "back" button? I have an Iphone 4.

Anonymous said...

I got it! The "back" button in the game, on the phone! LOL!

Anonymous said...

Can you use larger cursors and maybe black to follow better

Anonymous said...

shut up

Anonymous said...

Sorry for my ignorance but on the iphone, what "back" button are you referring to? Once I hit the play button and the game loads I don't see where you are talking about resetting the game if you don't like the configuration without loosing a life.

The red envelope icon functions as an exit or back button. The only time this does not work is on a level that drops candies causing a match before you touch anything. That will cost you a life if you back out but it gives the option to keep going if you tap it by mistake. This game is so unfair, I have no guilt in trying for a setup that at least pretends to be helpful. Wish me luck - I haven't passed this one yet and I almost quit at 135 and 147!

Finally got it after I don't know, 30-50 tries. Based on luck for sure.

It's based on when they want you to win! Seems to me that most of the time the first game is the one to really try to beat. It seems to be the best setup. However, you're not sure exactly what's going on so you screw it up! Watch the video's before starting any new level. You can find out how it goes and where to start before totally screwing it up! This is how I've managed so far, even though the video
s do show the perfect setup.

That's your problem for drinking the apple flavored kool-aid isn't it?! Get an Android already! :(

Agree with original poster, anyone can clear a board when it's all set up

Anonymous said...

So how do I find the video.

Unknown said...

This "seeing the setup" plan works on the Ipad as well... :)

I agree. I think it's also based on when they think you've had enough!! Everything lines up perfectly in the videos. How often does that really happen??!!

I did this level in about ten attempts. You can do this without a "perfect board" but it does help if you can remove a few of the candies on the right hand side within the first couple of moves.

The chocolate doesn't appear until about move three, so drop the ingredient down a bit on the left had side, then clear a few on the right hand side. Ideally you need to get the ingredient into the right hand side in about two moves (three at most).

Make sure the candy drops into the right hand side before the chocolate blocks it up. Then you need to get enough coloured candies to blast the chocolate away and bring the candy down. Don't waste your time making candies that blast downwards or wrapped candies on the left hand side. Only go for candies that will blast sideways or candy bombs.

yep I churned so long on this level I got some 'pity gum'. I just wish I had a way to see 'what if' so I don't miss it when the possibility is there & make the same mistakes over & over. I hate 'devouring chocolate' enough to put me off Hersheys. It is the 'surprises' from the top that torque my jaw in this level! Makes me wonder why I play this game at all. Addictive personality? Me? huh

I got lucky and cleared this level in 6 moves. I matched a chocolate sprinkle ball with a striped candy to drop the ingredient. Got a score of 62060. I would say it took under 50 tries.

Hate this level :(

whoooooooohooooooo only took 36 times to get the right board on level 158!!!

James Clarke said...

Yes well I just got a double colour bomb followed immediately by a colour bomb/wrapped candy combo and STILL failed.

I prepared a VERTICAL striped candy on the left board which I managed to get down to the right hand board, in the same lane as where the nut was sitting (on the right board).

I managed to get the vertical striped candy explode and the nut went straight to the bottom - it did the trick!

Using the 'back' button does use up your lives.

Anonymous said...

Awesome idea using the back button. Read these comments, backed out of 6 boards and beat the board on the first try with the right setup.

Anonymous said...

Thank you for the comments...I did this and couldn't have done it with out you -- same on level 141 I would have been stuck forever with out you and your help, again, thank you!

It is all about patience - I think it took me about 20-30 tries. Start out getting every move you can on the right, you have to be ready for every move you have on the right because the chocolates will block you if you don't move fast! Once I got all those moves I ended up with a color bomb on the left, I used that which got the cherry to the right, then I got another color bomb. I could definitely tell THAT game was going to be "it".....as I said, patience is what you need =)

How can you influence the appearance of vertical or horizontal striped candies???

Unknown said...

Seriously, you are on level 158 and you don't know how to influence horizontal vs vertical candies? The orientation of the stripes matches the direction you swiped to create it!

Scott Clay youre funny😺😺

Idiot, apparently. said...

OMG Scott Clay!
I really am on level 158, and not only did I NOT know that the stripes indicated
which direction the striped candies would clear, I certainly did NOT know
how to influence the direction through my swiping.

Thischickiscool - you are REALLY cool. Didn't know I could use the back button to save lives. Hate this level. Using your trick, I finished it in 20 minutes, agreed trying for days. Thanks again!

If you all take the time to look around this website you will find all kinds of tricks to help you with the game... Backing out of a level is in the mobile tips section, influencing the direction of stripes is in the sweet combinations section..

Need to move candies in right box to get cherry below chocolate other wise just start again.

Anonymous said...

Why can't iI use the extra moves on this level? I'm getting them when I'm on this level but when I accept them I still only have 20 moves.

Anonymous said...

This level is impossible. Unfortunately I have been on it for days and it's a quest. I did clear it a couple of times but was nowhere near the target score of 45000 so it wouldn't let me through. I refuse to buy my way through so it's the end of the road for me 😬😬

Anonymous said...

Just made it. 3 days of sincere trying. Kept pressing the back button till I got a board which I thought might work. Probably 30 to 40 tries. Half the time though the cherry would come to right side, I would still fail because of the damned chocolates. Only horizontal striped candies or a combo of the hor/vertical and the wrapped ones will surely work. Keep trying. Don't give up. I was on level 147 for nearly a month earlier.

Unknown said...

This is impossible. First I never get the ideal play. The chocolate starts to appear after the second move, not three. Once you make the stripe to clear the right, it doesn't replace it with a candy so how are you supposed to match anything? grrrrrrrrr

Dardud said...

So what is the perfect set up or when I use the back button to change the set up what configuration am I looking for??

John said...

I was stuck on this level for days it was making me crazy! Combos did not seem to work well or any strategy, I finally got extremely lucky and got 2 chocolate bombs side by side and was able to explode the entire board. Yes it was all luck on this level. Now I have a timed level to look forward to...YEAH (sarcasm). Happy Crushing, and good luck.
