Candy Crush Saga Level 169 Tips and video.

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 169 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie.
Tips: Level 169 is a jelly level and there is jelly over the whole board so everything has to be cleared to complete the level.
You need to use stripes or colourbombs to clear the jelly in the top part of the board as it can't be cleared by making matches.

If the level you play is different from the one here it is because the developers have changed it since I played and I have no control over this. Please let me know on our FB group and I will try to change it.

----------------------------

Original version
Level 169 is classified as a hard level and it is certainly hard. With 6 colours on the board and needing to make a
colour bomb to complete the orders it is one of the hardest levels so far in the game.
You need 3 combos to complete level 169..A colour bomb/stripe, a stripe/stripe and a stripe/wrap.
The chocolate makes this more difficult, but if you can get the colour bomb/stripe combo fairly early on it will clear a lot of the chocolate for you.
You don't need to clear the chocolate to complete the level, just prevent it from closing the top of the board off or you won't get any new candies to fall.
The more special candies and combos you can make the more the board will be cleared and the easier it will be to make the orders you need.
You have a lot of moves so don't be afraid to use any special candies to clear chocolate, you still should be able to make the orders even if you have to use some of your special candies on their own.

169 is a crazy level.  You need 3 combos.. A colour bomb/stripe, a stripe/stripe and a stripe/wrap.
But needing a colour bomb, with 6 colors on the board, and only a 5 column wide play field,  that will be nearly impossible. Especially with only 35 moves.  Work within the initial play field first to see if you can get any combos,  but don't go crazy trying to stay in there. Remember, the chocolate only grows one piece at a time so you just have to keep it at bay because you need the extra columns to get a colour bomb. Don't waste any moves. Study the board after each move and create as many special candies as you possibly can. If you get a colour  bomb, and there is no way to drop it next to or on top of a stripe, swipe it with the color least visible on the board,  that will create an abundance of another color making it easier to make another color bomb.
The target score is also very difficult to get, if you get all your combos and still have extra moves,  the game will activate stripes so hopefully that will push you above the score but several times I got the combos and not the score. If you have an opportunity to do a wrap on wrap, those are big points. Good luck

Wow, I thought Level 135 was a nightmare, but this level is also causing me huge problems. I have managed to get all the combos twice, but cannot get enough points to pass this level. Has anyone got any tips on this as I truly can't see how it's done.

Thanks
Helen

On the video it looks like once you get the last combo in place try to use the rest of your moves to gain points before hititng the combo. This is the level I have been on the longest and am finding myself playing new games because this isnt fun anymore.

Anonymous said...

I feel the same as above. I know it can be done but so far, not by me. Can get 2 of the 3 then run out of moves. No fun.

♥ I've completed it twice but failed to meet the points!! 1st time 41,000 and 2nd time 35,000. Third time is the charm! 64,000. Best way to get the points is to collect all the orders early on and have some moves left to turn them into stripes for points at the end. I had like 9 moves left. That helped.

Anonymous said...

if you collect the orders early you wont have enough points. I've completed this like 5 times but can't get enough points, sucks big time!!!

Anonymous said...

Spend a dollar or two and get the color bomb. I did and I cleared the level on the first try.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for posting video..I had no idea how to go about this..clever to put the candies down bottom so they won't burst!! I'll attempt it now..tried it twice and decided to come here and look before i get frustrated, not saying i won't get frustrated lol..cause no doubt i will :)

I posted at 10.14 am...and although it's wee hours here in Oz...and i should have been in bed..i perservered for about 12 lives, an hour, and got this one out...am so so soooooooooooooooooooooo happy....it's not that hard really...just have to be extra careful..so go slow and have some moves left to reach the score..I had 11 left..and don't ask how!! proud of me lol..good luck crushers

Anonymous said...

Anonymos that posted at 12.06 pm..if you completed your orders early you should have had heaps of moves to reach your points..i don't quite understand how u don't. I had 11 left and it automatically played moves..perhaps I had enough combos on board that gave me a good score. good luck

I'm gonna be here for a while!!!

Been on level 169 for 3 weeks. Had all three combos at least 10 times but never enough points. Once got 44,200 but usuually only get 25,000. Does clearing the jelly at the edge help or not?

Anonymous said...

Games is designed to make money.
Imagine how hard it would be 100 levels from now.
Does anyone think that they can get there for free?

Anonymous said...

Really, isn't it difficult enough to get all of the combos without scoring 45,000 points. This level has taken all of the fun out of the game. I don't play nearly as often and don't en joy it at all.

I reached this level last evening and by midnight I was well annoyed and was about to chuck it all in. Got the 3 combos but not the score!

Tonight, I watched a YouTube video on this level and I noticed their score when they got all 3 combos it was about 20,000 with 10 moves still to go!

I figured that if my score wasn't 20,000 approx. with 10moves left I'd bail out and restart.

So that is what I did and it worked.

In response to anonymous comment of July 23 @12:53am -yes it is possible to clear this level without paying!

Anonymous said...

Finally got it after countless lives. I finally drew a board where I could get the two harder combos early, then lined up the two stripes near the bottom, then made a couple more moves, the launched the last combo with 4 moves to go. It exploded enough individual stripes to put me over the points minimum.

Unknown said...

just finished tis level with 8 moves to spare , IMO this level can be won easily if you just slow down and pre-plan where the drops are gonna happen the more you rush the faster you burn through your moves i sat down and just planned for a good while before every move and it worked like a charm

Anonymous said...

II have played this level so many times I lost count. I have many times completed all 3 orders and never have made the minimum points required to move to next level. I am very frustrated at this level and finding myself more and more not wanting to play.

Anonymous said...

Someone needs to explain to me how to get enough points WHEN THE GAME TAKES OVER AFTER YOU GET THE LAST COMBO! It does not let you do it yourself! It just uses up whatever moves you have left with no input from the player. I am also tired of hearing this level is easy. It isn't. Honestly people stop and think what you are saying to already frustrated players. And to the braggarts - really was that necessary? And to the people who purchase - anyone can pass that way so who cares if you moved on. Clearly you couldn't do it on your own.

Anonymous said...

In response to the person asking if you can get this far & farther. ...
Yes...I haven't and won't spend a penny on this game.
... If you need/want more lives for free....
1. If you're playing on your cell, open a game on another device such as your tablet, lap-top or computer. Just use a different name & request as much as you like. I get bored after 10-ish.
2. Make a "ghost" FB page & request away.
Hope that helps.

This is sherri here and I got to the level yesterday and let me give you the honest run down. First the good news. No bombs in this game. And the game will spontaneously generate a few striped candy or whatever for you. Ok, that's the good news over.In one of my first 5 games, I managed to make the whole 3 combos, but I was about 25,000 short of the required score. And that was my best game so far. I've come close with the combos a couple of other times, but the real killer is getting that score. My worst game has been 4,000 points and no combos and you need 45,000 to get through.
On each side of the game are those white cream squares holding back the rampaging chocolate. You might think, as I did, you can hold it at bay. Give up the thought, Unlike other levels just before it,where it can be hard to pop it, in this game it melts away like summer snowflakes as the tiles cascade. Someone here said do the combos first then concentrate on building up the score. We all would if we could, but we can't, that's why we're here!
I think this game will need a bit of luck with what tiles you are dealt as well as strategy.

Yep you can def get thru this game without paying, i havent paid a dime.. I wouldnt want to, there isnt any fun in that. Of course i could get thru them with a bunch of cheats, anyone could. And yessss you do the combos first and THEN rack up points. You get 2 combos out of the way, then try to set up ur last combo at the bottom. BEFORE actually mixing the last combo, rack up points else where on the screen, CAREFULLY, to not disturb ur last combo waiting to take play. Make sure to mix that last combo before you use ur last move!! Whew... Rocket science lol and no its not going to be easy or simple... Good luck!

I've been playing this level for three days and I can't even collect all the orders... I keep "running out of moves" and the board will shuffle about 2-3 times per game and I'm not able to make any combos until the last 5 moves. Anyone else have this problem?? I'm really getting bad setups!

Anonymous said...

I played this level a few hundred times without ever really getting that close to success. Then, suddenly, the stars aligned and I won handily, with 12 moves left to spare. Persistence is key with this level, based upon my experience...

rmartin77 said...

Oh so all I need to do is get all 3 combos the first part of the game and then I'll have a ton of moves left to get my score. Why didn't I think of that? I always just tried to get all 3 combos just sometime during the game. I'll go right back to the game and knock those pesky little combos or in 6 or 7 moves then see if I can't score enough. Didn't realize it was that simple. TPIC.

Goodbye Candy Crush. 169 is the level I bail at. It's taken too long, and whilst I'm sure it is possible to do it - it's gone way past the point of being fun any more, so I'm gone.

Thanks for the game 'King', but you'll have to sucker somebody else for your dollars. Hideous level

This level is pure hell. I can't even get two of the necessary orders in time, much less the points. Quite often when I am setting up a combo, something happens and wrecks it. Even more frustrating, on one try, a striped/striped combo I made and swiped was not recognized by the game.

Anonymous said...

Actually, I finally made this level of "pure hell" (I meant to say "pure evil"--I should edit before I post). It was around the twenty-fifth try when I got it, playing on the tablet. Luck was definitely involved as the sparkle candy just formed and I got it adjacent to a striped candy. I got that and the striped/striped combo and then with four moves left, wrapped and striped candies were adjacent. I had 25,000 or so points at this point in the try, and was worried about what others were saying about getting the orders but not the points. I was also worried about losing my combo as I tried a few moves to set up striped candies and the like. I decided to take no chances and just swipe the combo. That completed the orders, and then the game on autopilot gave me 40,000 points, so I finished around 65,000. At least I got this level of pure hell.

Just can't seem to win with this one... so bored now! Time to find a new game!

Anonymous said...

Bye bye, just deleted this game. Not fun anymore.

I play the game for my husband and myself. We are both on 169. I have played for WEEKS now. I finally got all the matches and didn't have enough points nor any more moves. Feed up time to quit. Now I will have my life back.

Anonymous said...

I've been playing daily for the past two months. Have managed to complete the orders several times but always with not enough points. Once I've completed the orders the game takes over so there is no way I can control what is happening. Beginning to get bored with the whole situation....

Good bye Candy Crush !!

You just have to keep trying. The combinations will come think carefully before each move. Start a new game if no possibility of winning. There are much harder levels ahead.

Anonymous said...

I THOUGHT THIS WAS A LOT HARDER BASED ON WHAT THE COMMENTS HERE SAY…LET ME SAY IM NOT TRYING TO BRAG OR THAT IM SMARTER…I JUST THINK THAT IF YOU AIM FOR CREATING THE STRIPED CANDY THE COMBOS COME ALL THE TIME..AND DONT WORRY ABOUT USING THE ONE CANDY YOU JUST MADE, IF YOU HAVE TO USE IT DO IT, ANOTHER WILL COME. JUST AIM AT MAKING THE DESIRED CANDY ,KEEP MAKING COMBOS AND YOU WILL REACH THE MINIMUM POINTS!!!

Anonymous said...

I quit candy crush because of this level. Too bad for the king company because they were making a lot of money off me in those small increments that you don't realize add up to so much. And I was fine to pay because of the entertainment value of it. I was their dream customer. But I guess they are already making so much money, it doesn't matter. I'm off to find another candy crush-like game.

Anonymous said...

Toughest level so far. Waiting on some lucky drops. Otherwise, besides paying, can't see how it will happen.

Anonymous said...

I've played this level for 2.5weeks now. Since I get sooo frustrated playing this level, I go to Dreamworld and play there, but I am now done playing Dreamworld. (Wish they create more levels there asap). So I tried playing this level again and back to feeling so frustrated and annoyed!!! I can only get 2 of the required combos.. My brain is tired thinking for this level. UGH!!! Like others, I think I will give up this whole Candy Crush game. 1 more week and that's it for me. Bejeweled, here I come... LOL.

Anonymous said...

I worked at this level aggressively for a week and finally beat it. I didn't pay for extra moves, I beat it on my own. Definitely more luck than skill required on this one. To those who are still stuck, my only advice is that u must have patience. Lots of it.

Anonymous said...

I thought no way too! Impossible! I finally got it after numerous tries. I think the trick is to use your stripe combos as much as you can to create lots of movement and a lotta luck. Hang in there, the next game is simple as a reward.

Anonymous said...

Have tried this enough times, just what I needed to move on to other better games.

Anonymous said...

I love games. That said.. I like to feel that I have a chance to win. I have been on this level for three weeks. Every day. It is pure luck and I'm not that lucky. I also am the perfect customer for this game and they have lost me now. I went one week without ever seeing a speckled ball. Bye bye.

Anonymous said...

Got this as a quest, and need to get 60,000pts. Impossible. Can only make it to the 30,000's. Got all combos 4 times. Whats up with this? Tired of playing over and over and not meeting score required. Needs to be fixed. Ready to quit.

Connie Cox said...

Level 169 is impossible for me. If it can be beat I need to know before I give it up completely. I never knew a game would be so stressful.

Anonymous said...

Skill doesn't really come into play here (pun intended). It's just chance - if you keep at it long enough you will eventually get a board that lets you win. Happened on many other levels as well. I suspect that they count the number of times you played and the number of times you rated the level "boring" and let you move on before you get too frustrated - hoping that you will spend money at some point. I most certainly will not!

Anonymous said...

Been on this level for 2 months now. I've gotten the orders twice, but not the points. This is definitely a level of 99.999999% luck. If you don't get the candies to fall just right, you have NO CHANCE to get both the orders and points. End of month, I'm done with Candy Crush!! I know some luck in always going to be involved, but this is just ridiculous - I do not need this aggrevation.

Anonymous said...

Three times I have managed to collect all the orders, each time I waited until the last move to make the final combination. Three times I have failed to make the required score. King have lost the plot, games are supposed to be fun and engaging, not stressful and soul destroying. Time to fine a new way to relax, one things for sure I will never waste my time on a King game again...

Unknown said...

I am in level 215 and got this level as a quest. Really impossible. Only luck can pass on this level. No calculations and ideas will work. Got the combos for 4 times but not the score. The combos also not coming easily. Scores for moves are also very low. Only 30000 is possible to score. Getting frustrated and decided to quit the game

Anonymous said...

I'm like the others. Wanted to play this game for fun. Not fun anymore. They need to make this game to move you on after x number of tries. When fun is no longer fun, time to quit!! Bye bye
