I'd like to use this level's comments to aggregate updates to: How to get extra lives on Android (I don't know if it works on other platforms yet). If it works for you, please comment on level 1.
The bottom line seems to be that I get extra threads if I tap on the level on the map I'm playing while it's in background. The map seems to stay in background longest just as the game is giving a new life after all lives are used. It doesn't seem to work as well while the app is confusing me with extra windows so I disconnect from the web.
Once I've played my last available life, I set a timer to let me know when there are 1 to 2 minutes til a new life is awarded every 30 minutes. I close the game, reopen it, tap the level to play and keep my finger above where the level sat, note exactly where the level was and wait for the new life counter is about to change from 1 second to 0. When it does, I quickly tap the 'close''X' twice and as fast as possible, tap many times where the level appears until the map is no longer in background. Once I exit after losing the new life, I often get another 'play' window and can play again. While I play the level, the microscopic life count at the very top shows 0 instead of 1-5 or "full". Once I fail that level again, another 'play's window happens. When it works, I often get more than 20 attempts to beat that level. Once I do beat it, I'm careful to exit out of the additional 'play' screens or I have to win again to have a life to play the next level. Once all the 'play's windows are exited, it seems like the app locks up so I have to restart it to play the next level.
If you comment about whether it works for you or not or have questions in level 1's comments I'll answer then here as brief as possible to keep this thread short? Okay?

It almost never works the first time on any level and for some levels it never did. The hardest were those on the far right on the map and were occluded by other buttons...sometimes it helped to scroll the level above or below those buttons to the point where I could see the level in the background behind the 'No more lives's window (where the new life countdown is).

Also note that you will not get an opportunity to change your booster selections between tries.
I've finished level 6733 and haven't gotten near as many extra lives recently. I also have a different Android phone so maybe that's the cause.
It seems to work most reliably when the first attempt shows a blue window just before displaying the board. I'll get just one or two extra lives on that deal but then more than ten on the next try after I lose and the 30 minutes expire again.
On level 6766, I got an extra life minutes after the timer changed my lives from 0 to 1. This happened twice without restarting the app.
I'm getting extra lives pretty much every level I lose now. Much better. :)
