Hints & Tips for level 417 Candy Crush Saga

Open up and use the two coconut wheels as soon as possible, move them vertically so they shoot 3 stripes across to the right to clear some cream.
Before you use them make sure there are 3 candies under them so that you get the full benefit, if there are cyclones or dead spaces you won't get a stripe...
Then concentrate on making as many horizontal stripes as possible. A stripe/wrap combo will clear loads of cream and also knock out the cyclones for a few moves, giving you more chance to make good moves.

More tips.

You have 3 ingredients to bring down the entire left column and then over to the right hand column that is filled with 4 and 5 hit blocks. All of the 6 cyclones are over on the right side initially, but shoot over everywhere, so try to move the ingredients down and shoot a few horizontal striped candies over to help clear out more. You are given 2 coconut wheels that you should use vertically right at the beginning before you lose them to plow through some of the blocks at the top to make room for the ingredients once you are ready to bring them over. and then down and out.

Fuck you King and Candy Crush developers, this level is a big piece of fucking shit! This is an all luck no skill flaming pile of dog shit, just when you get lucky with moves, the stupid twister cunts steal a move or bombs take away your good game. Have one or the other, not both.

I crossed this lvl from a tip elsewhere that special candy/combo will not really help. You need those 6 tornados to work at the right side though its random. Try NOT to blast them away with horizontal stripes, USE hori stripes/coconuts only when the tornados are free away from the blast. Of cos you still need a little luck on the right but I passed with much ease n 10 moves left.

Strange...please post if you had similar experience...I've been on this level couple days now and like everyone else, frustrated. So this morning while waiting for a movie to begin, I start playing this level. Of course it didn't work so I turned it off...later this evening I go to play it and now I'm on level 419! I asked my kids if they passed it for me, of course they didn't, they're so over cc, and they didn't have my iPad or my droid. So...did king co realize it was a stupid level and passed everyone on it? Is it something they can do? Anybody out there can explain it to me?
Thanks

OK MOST OF THE COMMENTS ON HERE ARE JUST BASHING THE LEVEL SO I'LL TRY TO GIVE SOME TIPS. 1ST TRY TO GET THE HAMMERS TO THE RIGHT SIDE. IF YOU DO THAT IT WILL HIT ALL THE BOXES FOR YOU INSTEAD OF JUST 3 ROWS. THIS IS NOT EASY AS SOMETIMES THEY ARE YOUR ONLY MOVE SO YOU ARE FORCED TO USE THEM BEFORE YOU WANT. 2ND TRY TO GET ALL THE INGREDIENTS IN THE SAME COLUMN. THAT WAY IF A TORNADO CLEARS A PATH THEY WILL FALL TO THE BOTTOM TOGETHER. THIS IS HOW I BEAT THE LEVEL SO I HOPE IT HELPS SOMEONE

GUYS! I don't know if this has been covered, as all I can see is comments about needing pure luck for this level. NOT TRUE! Here's how I did it. SAVE your coconut wheels until they (one by one) end up at the top of the right hand side, above all the blocks. Swipe them one by one horizontally so that the striped candies it creates go downwards, getting rid of the blocks a LOT quicker! using this method only took me 2 tries to complete the level! ENJOY!

The people who designed and approved this level should be fucking shanked.

Plain stupidity and/or perhaps pure greed from the developer's part had killed off an otherwise good game. They had basically forgotten the first principle of game design: the game must be fun to play with! Making it harder by taking away the fighting chance of the players is not fun. And when the game is no longer fun, people just stop playing it, which is the case for CC. When the developer realised this, it was too little too late.

Anonymous said...

the developers totally forgot to put chocolate in this level. what a bunch of jerks. you spend so much time making sure the bombs don't go off (the tornadoes will make sure you you never successfully do this) that you lose track of the main objective. i've been on this level for over two weeks, the longest i've been on any level, i'm sick of playing it.

Anonymous said...

Great news - level has changed on PC version - less tornadoes interfering and an additional coconut wheel top right. This gives you a chance. Still tricky, but getting closer.

Anonymous said...

I guess the boycott worked! Now there are only 3 tornadoes and it takes less hits for the bricks to come off.

Having reached this level is some proof that I can be rational and solve problems (even after many failures and restarts). Level 417 however is not a challenge and lacks a sense of fairness. Whoever designed this level shows very little intelligence and ought to have his head read. Perhaps the quality control freaks at King's can investigate who programmed this level and sack that person. Designing a degree of difficulty is fair but designing stupidity should be out of bounds.

PLAY THIS LEVEL ON FACEBOOK, not mobile. Mobile only gives you two donuts, but the facebook ap gives you three.

Unlock one of the top donuts. Get it to drop down four spaces and then use it to zap the first 3 rows of the other column. This will unlock the next other two donuts. Use the other column donut to create vertical stripes and clear some of the layers of the blocks. Make sure that there isn't a tornado in the way when you do this, or you're going to miss a column. Use the last donut to make horizontal stripes where ever.

After you release the donuts, there's a lot of luck involved and making sure that the bombs don't go off on you. But now, you have most of the blocks out of the way.

Also, watch where the nuts fall. The far right column doesn't have an arrow, so if you get it to the bottom of that one, you'll probably be stuck.

417 was changed and is now really good and fun. Three tornados were removed and one rolling cookie added. Still hard but it's fun now. Strategy? Use the rolling cookies on the left to get 2x3 horizontal striped candies (preferably in the top 4 rows) and unfreeze the cookie on the right and use the cookie on the right to get 3 vertical striped candies. The rest is about getting the ingredients to the bottom and keeping them on the left as there is no exit below the right column. Oh and watch the bombs of course. Good luck.

I played this level for 3 days on my iPad and iPhone, only once on my PC. Went to my PC tonight, logged in through facebook, and beat this level first time out! Don't bother on a mobile device!

Iam done with cc. This level requires no skill, its pure luck. I have spent around 50 dollars on thia game but i refuse to pay a penny more is levels are like this. Time ro find a new game.

Pardon the lingo but there is not a hope in hell to succeed this level unless you are one of those displaying their fortunate boards as shown above. Had it down to one move only to have that stupid whirly gig take a spot immediately below. I thought this was just a game and not a world championship chess contest against a computer in Moscow. Sad to say it but I will most likely give up on CC.

Anonymous said...

Well, this is it. Was 40 degrees outside to-day so spent all day on CC level 417 with the comfort of air conditioner. Tried PC and iPad and iPhone - no luck on any. CC simply knows what my next move will be and inserts a tornado. I am now going to release myself from CC forever. Making a level so stupid is certainly not the way I would market a product and asking to recommend it to my friends. Goodbye CC.

Going on the number of comments on here a lot of people are struggling with this level...me included. Kinda had enough of candy crush now. It has become very boring.

Junie said...

You can tell how hard a level is by how many comments are made........this one has a MASSIVE amount ! I was dreading this one as someone mentioned on a previous level how hard it was. Well for once I got the lucky board! After the 6th attempt it just went perfect. I know I'm in the minority but I quite enjoyed this one. Keep trying ,you'll get there. X

This indeed is a frustrating level. I just finished it after 4-5 days, trying at least 10 times a day. You must use the coconut wheels within the first 6 moves and let them hit full. The first one (horizontaly) must activate the top one on the right side, the 2nd one (horizontaly) must hit the 2nd, 3rd and 4th row on the right side. Thanuse the one one the right side which must hit verticaly the 3left lanes in the right side. if you don't succeed with this, quit the level and try again. It's essential!
Ignore the right lane on the right side. The ingredients can only be cleared using the left three lanes on the board. once it is stuck in the right lane, your chances go down to less rhan 1%...Kkeep on focussing on the frustrating bombs, don't think "mmm, that's a nice move, I'll cath the bomb later": there seems no logical order of the candies falling down in my opinion. Furthermore, I tried on FB and finaly finished on my Iphone. I think you have more chance on the computer, but as said, you can finish it on a phone as welll.
If you have come this far, you can't just quit... Heads up, and keep on going!
Good luck from the Netherlands.

Finally, it was all luck, crossed a coconut wheel with a horizontal stripe and then two packages were next to each other near the top on the other side. bombs happened to fall near like colors and the ingredients came down at a reasonable speed.

Anonymous said...

you do need luck but do able , using doughnut wheels on left drop em down one 4 rows the other on 5 rows ,
the first one 4 rows move upward that will clear on the right 2 rows plus top row unlocking doughnut wheel move wheel to left gives 3 vertical stripes then move other wheel up this will give 3 horizontal clear top 3 rows on left after that match candies on left try get wrapped and striped combos and keep eye on bombs ,,,
ok a lot of tries bout 15 b4 this worked but works and works well

A tip: play level 417 through Facebook and not on the app. The app version only gives you two donuts while the Facebook version gives you three. The Facebook version seems to have less tornadoes too. I have been playing level 417 for a week on my ipad, then when I switched to playing through facebook tonight, I cleared it in two tries, with no boosters.

Hope that helps! (The level really does suck, and the tornadoes are stupid)

Play on phone or iPad. Need to release one coconut wheel to drop down three spaces. Exit repeatedly until you get a start board that does this. Wheel drops down three, swipe up. Now right wheel should be loose. Swipe left. Now real ease third wheel, try you best to drop it four down. Swipe it up. Now you have a little room to work on right. I still had to play many times but this is what eventually worked.

I used to hate the chocolate, but now I am a hater of these tornados. Still working it. I've gotten down to one move left and like others have said "tornado ruined it"

Boring. Boring. Boring.

No strategy involved here....bye bye Candy Crush. You've jumped the shark.

I really loved this level, because...TA da... I've finally got my life back! I got so bored playing the same hopeless level over and over again, finally, I stopped playing obsessively and best yet...I no longer gave a rat's tush that I was stuck. Yay!! Free of the addiction! I'd pick it up if I was just plain bored maybe, and nothing left to do, play my 5 games then put it away. Somehow I did complete it tonight...I don't know how, and didn't do anything differently. But guess what? Every other difficult level you feel so good when you finally get it, but not this time. It took so long to do and had become so boring, I just don't care. Addiction broken. Free again! WooHoo

I played this hundreds of times until I discovered the winning strategy. With that strategy even though I might not win I would at least g e t close on a consistent basis. It is key to use the coconut circles first. Use one on the left first. If you unlock the one on the right push it to the left vertically. If not use the remaining coconut on the left to unlock the coconut on the right. Once all the coconuts are used appropriately there will be some room in the top right rows to move a bit. From there standard good playing will take you far. Good luck.

Bye bye 417 ... n bye bye candy crush ...

Anonymous said...

Totally agree, becoming a waste of time and no longer fun. I think I'll save my eye sight for other games.

Anonymous said...

Finally got this awful level. Lots of advice here, such as about getting coconut circles on the right side, that is relevant but it all depends on luck if your board will let you do that. In the end I managed to break through on the right and with the last few moves I needed to drop 2 nuts - one of which was in the far right column and I didn't notice that had no arrow (had never got that far before!). I used my free boosters from the wheel spins (have never bought a booster). Always get lollipops and hands and they both worked to manipulate the candies near the arrows by switching colours around; the nuts dropped through with my last move.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for all the tips. I was able to complete it on my 4th try. I did use a lollipop (free) to complete the game. I had 6 moves remaining, so I might have completed it without a booster. I was afraid the tornado would prevent me from completing it, so down went the lollipop hammer. Good Luck all!

Another stupid f***ing level!!!!!!!!!!! It's hard enough to clear the two poxy bombs let alone try and get the two fruits down when they don't put an exit route at both sides and always send them both down the same side. Luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, luck, seems to be the only way you are going to pass these stupid 400+ levels. If you think I will part with one penny of my money to try and clear this level you are out of your tiny programming minds!!! Sort this out, it is mind numbingly boring going through the same moves with the same result.....wanting to launch the laptop, Ipad, android out of the window. If that happens I will be suing for damages!

ALL levels of this game are a certain amount of luck! You should know this by now, yet a lot of people still complain. This IS part of the game. Obviously it can't bother you too much or you would have quit by now, so quit complaining!

Anonymous said...

ALL levels are bases on luck, people should realize that by now. Yet they still complain. It can't bother you too much or you would have quit by now! Stop complaining or quit already! Just have fun, it's only a game!

Anonymous said...

No fun! What r u stupid putting bombs & whirley U don't have time to plan anything, either the whirley gets it or the bomb. Not a good level . Time to quit. There r a lot of other fun games!

Anonymous said...

Husband quit at this level and now that I have reached it I am about to quit as well. Playing Juicy Cubes and Farm Heros Saga instead . Get your act together Candy Crush.

Anonymous said...

Played and beat it on FB. FB version had an extra donut wheel already at top of right side of screen.

Anonymous said...

I lucked out and combined a coconut wheel with a color bomb vertically down the middle left side of the board. The whole column turns to striped candies and knocked out much of the right side with that one move. Dodging bombs and cyclones, I finished just as I was out of moves. Whew! Good luck.

Am wondering if this level has been changed as no posts since November 21013. I'm still experiencing the same problems however so can't think it has.

cherylcandycrush here.

Ah, lots of comments, so I am not the only one having trouble.

I am not through yet (though I have been SO close a couple of times), just came to see any hints.

The main summary at the top pretty well covers it.
At the moment, I am trying to use the coconut wheels so they clear some of the right hand side. Usually those wheels drop down a bit before I can use them. I try to wait till they are at least 3 rows down and with no craters as otherwise you don't get your full value out of them.
I also try not to have one coconut wheel detonate the other by accident, but a few times it has happened.
The tornadoes also do sometimes wreck a good move you were planning and sometimes they and the cascades do zing away some of the bombs.

My only hint so far would be though-don't be complacent about those bombs. If you have a choice between making a combo or clearing a bomb, regretfully you may need to choose clearing that bomb, because the candies move with the tornadoes or get blocked and you can't be sure of having another chance. I am getting knocked out by bombs about 50% of the time, before I get half way through a game.

Oh, and if you get within cooee of the finish line with only one candy between you and the last hazelnut-oh boy, use a lollipop hammer. I intend to. I've got there twice but was blocked by a silver thingy and wasn't sure if a hammer would work on it, otherwise I would already have done it.

cherylcandycrush here.
Righto, through.
Use the coconut wheels asap if you are lucky enough to free them quickly.

Try for combos, only way to clear enough.

Use a lollipop hammer. I did, on my last move. Well worth it.

Level is do-able, better than that hellish 350 as at least you get close.

Anonymous said...

Finally !!!! Passed this horrid level after way more than 8 hours of playing. All I can say is make the horizontal stripes, wrapped & striped combos, watch the bombs & keep an eye on both boards once the right side starts to clear & pray for a a lucky board !!! Good luck !!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

DONE! Not even luck gets you past this level. I'm so over this game.

Anonymous said...

U can,t use get Xtra moves on the phones. Don't work.

Anonymous said...

This level SUCKS! You spend more time trying to kill bombs that come almost every move so hard to try to make combos. I have to wait to rack up coconut wheels and speckled balls before I can play again.

Anonymous said...

Finally got past this stinker of a level with extra moves and a coconut wheel - I got a bunch of extra wheels once I busted thru the right side of the board. There's hope for this one after all.

Anonymous said...

After having multiple problems with this level, I recommend using candycrush on facebook instead, in order to complete the level. I've always used my phone app, but as soon as I used the facebook app instead (with the aid of the multiple free gold bars that candycrush automatically give you on facebook) I completed it first time. This may have simply been pure luck, as I'd been stuck for weeks and weeks on my phone, but I still think it is worth a try if you're having no success.
