Hints & Tips for level 440 Candy Crush Saga

The priority on level 440 has to be getting rid of the bombs!
Look carefully at the bombs to try to get matches to unlock them.. It is very difficult to see matches in the bombs, especially when they are locked in licorice, but there is plenty of time to study the board carefully and find the best match.

At this stage don't worry about the top half of the board unless you see a colour bomb which will help unlock more bombs. But check before every move just in case you see a good move.
A stripe and wrap combo is very useful for unlocking/removing bombs and it will also knock out the toffee tornadoes.
Colour bomb/stripe is also very good as long as you have plenty of candies of the same colour as the stripe.
Once the bombs are gone it's just straightforward getting rid of the remaining jelly.
Work at the bottom as much as possible, but don't forget about the jellies at the top as they are the ones most likely to be left at the end.

"Straightforward getting rid of the rest of the jelly" - NOT. Having wasted half the moves getting rid of the bombs it is far from easy getting rid of the top corners of the jelly. This level is NASTY - I've tried it about a hundred times so far with maybe one in 10 times able to clear the bombs.

Try about 10 times without even clean up all the bomb. I attempted to create chocolate-strip or wrap- strip without success. The falling candy and tornado is very clever that block nearly all my plan... funny...

Again, it is a level keeping you playing. It will be more easy later.

This level still has bug. I failed to create strip and wrap sometimes.

It seems developers are out of ideas on the design and need to use tornado or fake random falling candies to make the level difficult.

Okay candy crush... Completed 440 a week ago...time to reveal new levels please...getting bored

Manage to pass it in 20 tries with 14 moves left with the help of chocolate+stripe twice and wrap+stripe once.

Again, it is the changing behavior of the game after numbers of failure. Tornado changes from destroying my plan to helping me to clean the bomb and stone. And it is suddenly more easy to create strip, wrap or chocolate candy.

Before that, I cannot even clean the bomb, not to mention to pass it.

There is no tactic but try your best to clean the bomb first and then create combos for rest.

Just started on this level and ready for this game to be over...despite comment above, I don't want any new episodes.

Although I haven't beaten it yet, I tried a completely different approach of trying to clear the top corners so I could have more room/opportunity for stripped/wrap/sprinkle ball combos. I seem to be clearing more bombs this way.

I got very lucky and got a speckled striped combo on 4th move! The striped just happened to be a very prevalent color. After that, I got 2 more combos right away and cleared all bombs with 29 moves left to clear the jelly. I got the top left corner on the very last move! I don't know what I would have done if the colors didn't fall right for that one!!!

Wow I just passed level 440 and finished candy crush saga! At least in the mobile version and at least today where there still are no updates. Yehey! This level was fairly hard I lost a lot of lives!
Tips to help you:
* Priority: eliminate the bombs! Before you make your first move check out the board first if in your first move you can create a sort of hole in the locked candies so you can penetrate the middle.
* Make a color bomb + striped combo or striped + wrapped combo twice. First to unlock the bombs, second combo to eliminate it. Place these combos in the lower part of the board.
* After the bombs are cleared, start clearing jellies in the upper board. These are 4-hit blockers so good old combos will clear it faster.

Good luck! More candy crushing days to come! When I was in level 65 I thought of quitting and am looking above the map wondering when I might get there and now I am here at last! Thank you for all the tips and videos!

If you play on the computer, there are 14 more levels to play on...though I have not passed this one yet LOL

Extremely tedious and difficult level, if you are unlucky like me. Too much waiting period with all the candies constantly cascading and tornados switching after each move (which, btw are there to definitely make you lose). LAME

Just when I thought I was done, they added new levels to the mobile game!! Lol

This one is HORRIBLE, unless your lucky enough to get a couple combos, it's not going to happen!! I really dislike this level and the stupid tornadoes that ways mess up my moves!!!

Anonymous said...

I hate this game now. There have been frustrating levels. This one is the worst ever!!!! If I manage to get a chocolate bomb, there is no way to get a stripe with it. Thought the difficulty level would change after I updated. It certainly did. It got worse. AND I lost over 49 lives! I have spent way too much money and time on this game to be screwed. I am done. This is ridiculous. I have ONE friend who beat this level. No one else. CC, SUCK IT! And don't tell me I don't know how to play. I didn't get this far by being stupid. I just have no luck. Tornados are the worst idea these designers made!

This level is possible with no boosters. It does take a lot of lives but I just completed it and the only combo I got was when all the bombs had gone and nearly all the jelly was a green striped and a freckle and that got rid of most of the jelly because there were a lot of green candies so try something like that everyone GOOD LUCK It is possible!

Easier said than done. Been stuck here for a week.

Like an earlier poster, I found the key to this was opening up the top area. Don't pick out the bombs one by one, open up the top to allow more combos to occur. Only take the bombs out in the early stages when they are really good moves that eat into the lower layers.
Within about ten attempts of using this strategy I had a win with seven moves to spare and two near wins.

These tornadoes keep foiling my plans!

OMG this is the worst level :/I have been stuck here for 4 weeks now. I can't see I will ever pass it. Not even close. Time to quit I think, probably won't miss it as I'm bored to death playing this level over and over and over!!

This game has become about as entertaining as pulling teeth, with all its cheating. Fuck you King.com I hope everyone involved in making this game dies a slow, painful death. Won't be playing this shit or any other game made by them again.

This level is so frustrating. Every time I get a good move the tornado destroys it. I have been on this level for 2 weeks now. It is time to get a good board. Congratulations to everyone that has passed this level. At first it was fun but now it is boring.

After 3 weeks I finally passed this level this morning. Last night I decided to change my strategy. Instead of concentrating on the bombs at the lower portion of the board I decided to try to clear the top jellies. If I had no moves at the top then I went to the bottom. After only a few tries I was down to only one jelly and then a couple more tries and I only had 4 left. This morning I completed the level. When you clear the top it opens up speckled bombs, stripes and wraps. Worked for me. Good Luck. Three weeks is the longest I have spent on any level.

I have been here at least 3 weeks. I can not get off!

This level has bugs.. I FINALLY got rid of all of the bombs, and was all ready to finish clearing the top jelly.. only to be told that I did NOT clear the bombs in time! There were no bombs left to clear, I give up.

Have read all of the above. Some are lucky - I am not. Tried more than 200 times and now bored out of my brain. Seems those tornados know my next move. Cleared the bombs twice, made a speckle then a stripe but tornado took my speckle. Will give it one more try and if I fail again I shall say bye bye to CC. To me it does not seem to be a game to recommend to friends.

Does anyone actually like the "challenge" of the tornadoes? The tornado levels are largely plain luck and not very much fun. I know there aren't as many of them after the previous level, but levels like these make me want to quit.

That's messed up! Every time the bombs are about to explode, I get a hard and wrapped candy or hard and chocolate lined up and the tornado comes and messes it up! I've been stuck for a week because of that. At least 10 times that has happened. I'm about to quit this cheating game. They are trying to get me to spend money? F that! If it does that one more time I'm deleting the game!

Have NEVER commented on a game blog before, but feel this one necessary to keep my sanity.....have played this level well over 200 times. Have read every blog and watched every video, and all I can say is this level is about luck, luck, and more luck. Have tried all methods. Tornadoes break up the strategy part of the game (and to think the game creaters thought this to be clever *cough cough). One more day, and if I don't beat it, tomorrow morning I begin life Candy Crush free. Good luck fellow Candy Crushers....you're literally going to need it.....

Spent about a week on this level, played at least a hundred games, BUT still to complete this level. I have hated the tornadoes before, but in this level, I detest them....hoping thats a stronger word than hate. It almost feels like the tornadoes are programmed to study and understand your playing strategies in general and them almost always spoil the plan that you are building....its true at least for me. I spent a lot of time testing this theory and YES, I am right about it. Not fair King.com....not sure what you want to accomplish out of this. I officially hate this game!!!!!

Anonymous said...

The only way you can beat this level is once again, with a hell of a lot of luck. You can try all the strategies suggested, but it definitely comes down to pure luck. Every time I get a combo set up.....tornado blows it away. I have not been able to clear the bombs in over 20 attempts. How the hell you can do the rest is beyond me. No wonder so many people are getting pissed off!!!!

I un installed and reinstalled the game when i got to a level where it was sayib wait for more. Im on 440 now and having a hard time completing it so im not sure it will work for this level but worth a try. If youre not logged on through facebook though you may lose your prpgress.

I can't get past the bombs I'm not a complainer but I'm about to make an exception. I'm a fairly decent player at least I thought I was, any advice besides quitting.

I left a comment yesterday and came back to see if ANYONE left me some sort of help on this level. I watched the video on how to beat this level and what a joke that was. I really don't think it can be completed, I haven't even come close which is very odd. Please someone, hold my hand and walk me through this horrible level

Again ... Not interested in gearing from you if all you're doing is whining.

Be proactive or don't comment.

Two color bomb/stripe combos, if you can get them, will usually clear the bombs.

This board is the worst. I almost had it like three times. Seems like I've been playing for ever. Good luck.

does anyone know if you can get past this level on a tablet

I like this level :) been close so many times ,I reckon if there wasn't so many resuffles I would have cleared the board ,2 days trying but I like the wee tornados ....

This is an annoying level. I've only tried it eleven times (so far), and only on the first one did I clear all the bombs. Then I went after the jelly in the top part and almost cleared it all, but the stupid cyclones seemed to be just there to wreck my moves. Just when I was setting something up... the cyclones wiped it out. Those pests have to be the worst thing invented for this game.

Finally got this level on the sixty-seventh try, and I went right to the last move to do it. Combos are definitely necessary to even clear all the bombs in time (I managed that just five times in the sixty-seven tries), and when I finally got it, two wrap/striped combos and a striped/sparkly combo were invaluable, as was a wrap/wrap combo I got among the bombs. Definitely go for every combo you can make, even stripes alone are useful, especially among the bombs. Those cyclones are supremely irritating, though. After clearing the bombs, I worked to clear jelly at the top. With nine moves left, I had one jelly left, and got a wrap/striped combo set up to take out the last jelly--and a stupid cyclone moved in and wrecked it. However, careful manoeuvring at the end and a bit of luck that the cyclones did not interfere allowed that final meld of three to clear the last jelly and give me the level. No boosters were used. In fact, in this episode of fifteen levels, I used only a hammer once (and it was one I won on the daily booster wheel). This was an annoying level because of the cyclones, but a little strategy and planning and looking ahead at moves does help.

Do you know how bloddy hard this level is if your colour blind like me

Anonymous said...

Totally agree used to be a fun game but now its all about buying moves and boosters so time to say fuck u candy crush wankers

Freaking awful level. Only got down to 4 jellies once, and that's because it was the first time I'd even gotten rid of all the bombs. That was only possible because I got two chocolate sprinkles together and setting them off cleared all the licorice from the bombs. Getting two sprinkles together is almost impossible on this level, it was pure luck I got them. I can see why this was originally the last level, they made it so hard that no one could finish the game. I'm so sick of these level 400 games, they are awful.
