Candy Crush Saga Level 492

How to pass level 492 Candy Crush Saga
Tips by Adrian Gardner
Nasty level, need lots of luck and (mainly) combos.
Try and make your first use of a fish combo with a bomb, wrap or stripe as this will take out the locked three and turn them into whatever you combined the fish with and this will do most damage.
Usually on these levels you try to keep the fish till the end to get those awkward to reach final bits of jelly, but not on this one! Use the fish as quickly as possible as you just want to make dents in the cream, then make combos and try and combine them. Good luck!

Candy Crush Tips for level 492
All three rows have jellies under the heavy blocks.
Release and use the fish to clear some at the beginning, but you will need some heavy duty combos to break the blocks and clear the jellies.
If you can make a simple 3 candy match in the opening moves next to the chocolate factory do it. This will clear out the candies and chocolate can't advance without candies to cover so one side should be chocolate free for a while.

It took me more tries than any game before this one and felt like it wasn't even possible….. until that magic moment when all the right combos happen. Hope your moment happens faster than mine did!!

Impossible!

Hate those luck levels, in which you have a very limited choice of action. Just keep trying until finally everything falls into place...

I agree Gail, it was a "magic moment", and reading your comment inspired me to keep trying.
Thanks!!!

I have been on this level for 8 days now and only came close to passing it one time. I crush daily for many hours and spend many LIVES...when do I get the magic screen? I am so sick of this level I could scream. I feel at this point it is impossible but as I have said before, others passed it, so I should be able to pass it. So very frustrated.

I am hating this level. I spend all of my time trying to stop chocolate. I have not even come close to completing it. This is one of the hardest levels I have had in a while. Would love to have a lucky board. I have used up a lot of lives. This is getting boring.

mastrocola said...

OMG! Just 1 jelly left on the first try =(

Anonymous said...

I have only had one side about 3 times next to the chocolate to have matching candies. Even using my extra moves I can't get close to completing this level.

Anonymous said...

I finally got this level after 4 days. I had 3 matched candies in the lower right next to the chocolate factory and had a couple of speckled candies and several wrap and stripe combos. Good Luck everyone.

1 jelly to go on first try so I thought Oh this can't be too hard, I will save my precious 3 lollipops won off the wheel. A week later and nearly a hundred more gos, I haven't come close to that first time. Horrible level, must be near par with level 350 which took me 3 weeks to finally pass after having two jellys left on first try and 2 lollipops which I could have used. I'm beginning to wonder if it is fixed so that you will be buying more and more boosters. After all, they have to make money some how don't they.

Anonymous said...

PS. Proud to have got to 492 without ever buying boosters. I always thought if I ever feel the need, it's time to give up but with the introduction of the daily booster wheel, I saved all my boosters which I have now used on this level to no avail grrrrr. It really is time to quit this little candy crush addiction. Hell I was playing it in my dream last week. Sad or what lol?

My fish don't ever act like those in the video. They just keep eating at the same candy until it is gone. I don't have many special candies just dropping down on their own, either. When I do get the Chocolate Ball, I can never line it up with anything other than take out a color and hope something forms out of the cascade. Getting bored, yet again :(

Leslie said...

Now I just got a board that had no moves and it kept prompting me to make a move that wasn't there, alas I lost a life :(

Leslie said...

I used my bonus fish, which I probably didn't need to use, and finally got my lucky board. Chocolate Balls and stripes and wrapped falling all over the place! Phew, glad that's over!

if i could play on my tablet i could probaly get thru this level..on the PC it seems impossible..can even get a stripe/stripe combo let alone any other combo..go figure..where are the UPDATES and new levels???

Cybelle said...

Hi, I have a question, when a fish passes on a block does it get rid of one coat of jelly? cause on a previous level it did. Thank you for you answer

Anonymous said...

Try playing this level on PC via Facebook.

Anonymous said...

Just got to this level tonight. Thanks for all the good tips.
I'm no longer getting the bonus wheel. Are any of you still getting it?

Anonymous said...

I got this on the 2nd try! Talking about luck!!

luckylau said...

this has to be worse than 350...the fish don't seem to help and the combo's are none to say the least and i'm just about ready to quit all together...the video does not help me - who ever gets a board like that...going into my 3rd week on this 492 level and its just not worth the time any more

Anonymous said...

I got a "lucky board", because I got two vertical stripes that stopped the chocolate on both sides of the machine. This was sheer luck, no skill. However, I frittered away my good fortune and had to try again. I ended up with one jelly left and it was all set up to clear, so I spent the 99 cents and moved on. 494 is lots of fun, so take heart, use your lucky board wisely and crush on!

Anonymous said...

I don't mind this level as much as I minded 491. I've saved up a whole bunch of booster wheel treats but I use them sparingly. I know we all get frustrated but at least we still have the booster wheel. I've never spent any money on this game and I don't plan to. The closest I've gotten on this game is 6 jellies left.

Anonymous said...

i honestly believe once you start paying for things it makes it harder to win without and takes much longer. i paid once and after that it got harder.also on the bonus wheel has anyone ever got the jackpot?

Susanne said...

Wow. Read the hints and got it on the 2nd try on my iPad. Makes up for some of the longer times I was stuck.

Anonymous said...

After trying so hard to finally get this level...just passed and then didn't get credit for it...I have to play again.....totally
sucks!!!!!

Wendy said...

On about my fifth try I got two fivers beside each other almost at the start... Yeah baby! That helped a lot, obviously, but I still needed every move despite stripes, pkgs and combos and other fivers to finish this level. Glad it's done. Ipad used.

Unknown said...

This level is extremely hard and like some have said they are ready to throw in the towel. I am a trooper so I am going to continue to press on. Someone ask about the jackpot. I wonder if is is truly possible to win that.

Unknown said...

My friend got the jackpot and took a screen shot to send to me, the cheeky woman! I was not impressed lol! You get three of everything, looking forward to getting it myself.

Release fish then combinations. Keep the chocolate down is difficult

Another of those stupid "wait until you get a lucky board while you mindlessly shift candy around in the meantime" boards.Boredom has already set in and cannot be bothered even trying really. Cheers CC for another BS level!!!!

Anonymous said...

Another level that will probably require buying extras to enable passing it. Have tried over 100 times and very few combos able to be made, when you do, other candy come down & blow t up. No brains needed, its simply comes down to just shifting candy around hoping to get a lucky break. Cc, you have outdone the boredom level on this one. Ready to quit!!!!

Anonymous said...

As others have said, another useless level. Easier to just have a generic 'play' button, press at the beginning of the game, and let the game play automatically -- until you get lucky and it clears the jelly. -1 to the CCS programmers for removing any need of strategy and simply, and blatantly, doing nothing but trying to get plays & purchases.

Anonymous said...

Wow! After reading the comments, I decided to make a note on when I started to see just how long this level would take. Second life I got two wrapped, striped combos, two chocolate balls, and things just fell into place. No strategy. Pure luck.

Anonymous said...

I was stuck on this level for 2 weeks! I finally did it with no boosts or extra moves. Though all the tips crushers share here are helpful but it comes down to a lucky board. Happy Crushing! :)

George said...

By far the hardest level yet, I used my free fish booster, and got it on my last move, I had been on this level longer than any other and finally got my lucky board. Keep at it, it can be done.

Anonymous said...

After weeks being stuck I finally passed this level... and I learned something new. Apparently if there are no candies to overtake next to a chocolate spinner the chocolate doesn't come out. By accident, I set off a striped candy on the last row early on in the game when no new candies could fall there. This made it so the chocolate stopped and I easily beat the level. I'm not sure if that was a fluke (I'm using an ipad) or if it will work all the time, but it worked for me! If you couldn't get a striped candy down there you could probably smash the candies next to the spinner with a lollipop hammer I would guess. Good luck...this level was NOT fun!!

Anonymous said...

OMG this has to be the worst level in the entire candy crush saga so far. What do you need to complete it? I have had some brilliant boards, full of combinations such as bombs/stripes, stripes/wraps, fish/stripes and fish/wraps (some all in the same game). I’m yet to get even close to completing this level… King have lost the plot in the 400 series games… It’s no longer a game of strategy, skill and fun, it’s more like a game of patience waiting for the one board that give you a half a chance, no skill, just grinding away waiting and waiting, might as well play solitary, well maybe not, at least with solitary you have a chance of winning every game… Time to quit and find a more interesting and relaxing way to spend my downtime rather than let King frustrate me…

Anonymous said...

What do you need to do to pass this level??? I converted four of the fish with strip candy's, set of two strip / wrapped combinations off, and very good chocolate bomb / strip candy explosion, plus numerous other combinations. I got absolutely nowhere near completing the level... Total madness on the part of the board designer to make a level so difficult to be near impossible...

Anonymous said...

extremely hard level, finally got down to one jelly left (a double one) and used my two free lollipop hammers, couldn't take it any more. I found this level very boring and nearly impossible with all the double jellies at the bottom! didn't worry about the chocolate too much since there is no jelly under it. just make combo's that blow things up!

Anonymous said...

This level is really bad. Stupid fish do nothing! Ready to quit. Why don't u get rid of all the comments from last year?

Anonymous said...

Yet another pointless level making sets of 3 for 50 moves because that's all the board lets you do. Absolute zero on the fun scale. AS

Anonymous said...

Well i thought it wasgong to be a nice fun level. But it is much moredifficult than i thought. I am stuck for days.

Anonymous said...

A frustrating level. Ninety-five percent of the time, not even close to making this level. On one try, I got an early striped/wrapped combo down the middle, taking out the chocolate and with no candies adjacent to the chocolate generator, there was no chocolate appearing until I broke through the bottom layer of blocking cream. In that same try, I got a wrapped/striped combo amongst the jelly and a striped/sparkly combo as well, and it was still not enough. Wrapped fish, striped fish and sparkly fish do absolutely nothing more than regular fish do, so why waste a valuable candy on that? Quite often late in the game, there are no moves at the bottom of the board, forcing me to make useless moves at the top. It seems easier on Android than on Facebook, though, as I get at least a little closer.

Anonymous said...

Posting on this site brings good luck again! I posted the above comments, then tried this level playing on the Samsung tablet, and got it on the fourth try. Striped candy without combining it with special candy helped a lot in clearing the blocking cream and jelly, so don't hesitate to form and use vertical and horizontal stripes that shoot through the bottom. They are helpful! A late sparkly/striped combo helped here. Finished it with six moves left, three stars earned and no boosters used. Have faith, it can be done, just look with every move to make and use special candies.

Dear Gawd! This level is frustrating..Since I first stated on this Candy Crush Saga journey, I have come across some "hair pulling" levels. Ahem..level 350 immediately comes to mind (LOL) and to this day still gives me nightmares..but nothing so difficult as level 492. Here's hoping the Candy Crush Gawds will smile upon me once again..
Thanks for allowing me to vent..believe me, it helps..a little :D

Hate when I come here for help and tips and see lots of people say how hard and how long they have been stuck on this level ,I've only been on it a day and already it feels like weeks , I'm getting good boards and making loads of combos but not enough to clear , read all the tips as per usual and tried but can't get anywhere near .. please don't make this be another 3 weeker , its hard enough ..

Donna said...

This level is impossible. Not nearly enough moves. If you got mega combos with every move, maybe. I've come close, but at the end there are NO moves. Impossible.

Anonymous said...

took me a few days to pass this level. just like the rest, you have to wait for the lucky board. don't give up, keep on playing.

Anonymous said...

Oh good! Another level that requires no strategy to complete. The fish are completely useless - even striped fish because they never eat a candy that allows them to activate the stripe. Waiting for that lucky board because I refuse to pay to play this game.

Anonymous said...

This level is worse than 461!

cherylcandycrush here.

Yes, it is a hard level. I wasn't coming anywhere close to clearing the jelly and iced bits and was overtaken by chocolate.
TIP 1 Don't try too hard to match a special candy with a fish in the hope it will do great things. Mostly, it is not better than a fish on its own. Try instead to match special candies together.

TIP 2. Sometimes I even ticked the option to use one of my free spin colour balls or whatever but that never helped either. One special freebie probably won't do it.

TIP 3. In the end I decided to go all out. I ticked to use fish, colour/wrap, colour ball BEFORE I started the game. I have lots of freebies saved from the daily spin, so why not.

Instant success. The colour ball was placed right next to a striped candy so move 1 was wonderful, I started with an instant major impact. Which is what you need.
It released a lot of fish which cleared more.

TIP 4. Be aware that if you do tick the free fish option, the system sends you another free fish half way through the game, so you don't just get one. Same with some of the other things you tick, you get multiples (but it still only uses one of your freebies)

Colour ball mixed with special candy is the most effective of course so aim for those.

Multiple attacks from free spin options, all ticked at the start.

Worked for me and well worth it.

A truly terrible level. In the end, I had to buy someone at King three quarters of a cup of coffee in order to solve it. I bought 10 extra turns but I only needed six of those. But buying that coffee made me feel very relieved. It's been a while since I've had to fork out so I was pretty happy to have gone that long without spending.

Wow, I finally passed this ridiculous level. Thanku for the awesome tips. This is what worked for me:
Firstly, ticked all three free boosters that I had won from free daily spins, choc bomb, wrapped and striped combo and bonus fish.
Secondly, look at comments of 10th April, about the chocolate. I blcked first bit of chocolate and then my free stripe was placed next to the free space, so no more chocolate came, woo hoo (blocked other side eventually so NO CHOCLATE ON MY BOARD)
Thirdly, I just really looked at my board and worked out what I could do with what I had. The bonus fish really helped me out to finish.
Then SUCCESS, I screamed so loud that my daughter actually emerged from her room, which she never usually does, hee hee and told me to shut up, ha ha never!

Anonymous said...

At least on 461 there is no chocolate factory and the chocolate already there is contained in licorice to enable you to clear good parts of the board first. Not on 492 though.

I have been on this level SO LONG that I'm getting REALLY bored with it. I was hoping to make it to 500, and I'm so close, but it's about to not be worth the trouble. I'm saving tons of money, though, not buying that "one more move"! Can't even get close enough to do that!

Anonymous said...

CANDY CRUSH RIP OFF...When you buy two hours of play, you DO NOT get 2 hours of play. What you actually get is 2 clock hours where the clock runs whether or not you are playing. False advertising rip off!

Anonymous said...

Should this level be rated "Insanely Hard" on Wiki? Recently it was upgraded from "Very Hard" due to the votes. I agree with the upgrade.

Brian said...

Had to use boosters - at start I selected chocolate bomb, striped/wrapped, and fish. A striped piece appeared next to my chocolate bomb. Combining them took out the chocolate, cleared the fish, and more importantly left no pieces for the chocolate generators to generate. So I was able to clear most of the level and not deal with the chocolate until the very end when I had the last row of jellies to complete (by then the pieces are next to the generators.) I don't know how else anyone clears this level without the boosters (or massive luck).

Anonymous said...

This level isn't even marginally fun. Just shift candy with no real planning. All luck. This is the first time I am seriously considering quitting candy crush. Levels like this are a total time suck and zero fun.

Anonymous said...

Fish are the most useless of boosters. No wonder the daily spin lands on the fish 75% of the time.

Anonymous said...

Developers are running out of creativity with levels like this. Completely random luck if you get by this level. Save your money. candy crush grifters.

Anonymous said...

This level is stupid. Moving candy around the top of the board is pointless and is where you spend most of your time.

Anonymous said...

Buy $7,000 worth of boosters and you can pass this level.

Anonymous said...

Boring. Too random. Would rather play Keno.
