Candy Crush Saga Level 585 tips and video

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 585 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
I found some really good tips left in the comments by players, so please open up the comments under the video to see how other players have passed level 585.
Here is the one I felt was most useful. Thank you Ole.

The trick here is to NOT take out any of the candies on the lowest row. Instead try to make a disco ball on the top field, combine it with a coloured striped candy you know there are a lot of on the lowest row. All you need is two candies transforming to striped in the low row to shoot horizontal in the entire row.

That will clear out the map. This strategy will take a lot less tries than taking out candy by candy with vertical striped candies.

This is a difficult level. I finally passed using a free jellyfish booster.

This took a lot of tries. Obviously vertical stripes are the key, but horizontal stripes are OK too if you can swap them with another stripe or a wrap. Even a stripe/color bomb combo isn't as good as you'd like to to be because of the licorice. The other thing that makes it tricky is that candies don't come back onto the conveyors after they go away, so color bombs do less damage the further in you get.

I finally passed when I made a color bomb/stripe combo very early on. Because there were still candies on both conveyors with that color, I got a horizontal stripe on the bottom row, plus some verticals that got the second layer. That left me with only a couple of squares left and enough time to make the stripes to pick them off.

I can see that this is going to be a long slog - have got down to one jelly twice, but each time it was in the far corner of the conveyor belt and so very hard to get, and of course it was empty so a hammer doesn't work! The only time I activated a fish to start I failed to pick off the 3 initial bombs - sigh. Trying to keep cheerful but this episode isn't much fun. AS

Got it a couple of lives after posting above. No boosters, couple of striped/choc sprinkle combos and the last couple of jellies picked off with luckily placed vertical stripes. Only 2 stars but don't care! AS

I found this to be a tricky level. I played about 30 times then finally won. LUCK on the one I won. I got a color bomb with a stripe same color as last bomb. It took out bomb and then somehow completely cleared bottom jellies.

"The Netherlands" came back on the blog... There was no need because all levels were 'easy to do' except for 578.

I found this one to be a hard one so got back to my Candy friends@ this blog.

After reading it I finished it within 2 minutes and 39 moves left. I got a colour bomb that I could mix with a purple stripe: luckily I had 4 purple candies on the lowest belt, so that belt was cleared except for one licorice. I could shoot that one in the next move. Lots of luck, but I don't care. 88800 points, 3*

Good luck from the Netherlands!

The problem with this level apart from being very difficult is it is so boring...

Basically the bottom 9 jellys have to be hit twice (or more, bug?). There are a few bombs at the start, but for once they are not a problem and clearing them should simple. The problem is that you have 50 moves to create as many vertical or vertical combos as possible. In the early stages this is easy enough. However, as you get deep into the level your vertical candys have fewer targets it hit and you end up having to play nearly the entire game before you know your not going to complete it.

The previous tip about the spotted chocolate ball and strip candy is correct, it's only useful in the early stages, less so as the bottom tire of candys vanish...

I also noticed on several occasions I have set a vertical candy off and it has failed to clear a jelly layer, not sure if this is a game feature or a bug... I know I hit an outside double layered jelly twice and failed to wipe any jelly off. That just makes the level even harder...

I am not finding this level enjoyable, though it's not as bad as 578!!! If I used my fish from the booster wheel, I don't seem to get rid of all the bombs so it's a waste of good fish. I agree with the comments above. chocolate ball/stripe combo early on does a pretty good job of clearing jelly. It's just hard to get the ones on the farthest ends.

Annoying level. In the third attempt, I had one jelly left in the lefthand side of the conveyor, and I had set up an orange vertical stripe to move into the lefthand column and blast that last jelly. I was just waiting for a gap in the licorice, so made a waste move on the right side that I thought was harmless--but it set off cascades that wrecked my set-up on the left and I could not recover the set-up. That's annoying!

Hey, just posted here, saw that Candy Crush gave me a new life, and tried this level again--and got it! The secret is to keep as many candies in the lower conveyor belt as possible and then get a sparkly/striped combination with as many candies as possible of that colour as possible. First of all, a wrapped/wrapped combo cleared the bombs and most of the licorice, and left a lot of candies on the lower conveyor. Instead of trying to make vertical stripes, I concentrated on making a sparkly, and then that ended up against an orange stripe. Since there were no orange candies on the conveyor, I ignored it and then got a red stripe adjacent to it. There were three reds on the conveyor, and when I set off the combo. Two fired horizontally, taking out all but one jelly, and it was in the middle of the board. With twenty-five moves left to go, it was easy to set up a wrapped/striped combo to take it out and finish this level. The secret is to keep as many candies as possible on the lower conveyor and work for just the right sparkly/wrapped combo.

Got it with 40 moves left 3 stars and 158000

I used a fish and got a stripe got a strip on my first move. I combined the 2 and it cleared the entire bottom row in the 2 moves. Good luck

Anonymous said...

I did exactly the same as post above ^ . Used fish, and swapped it with a stripe. It took out the whole bottom row in one go. Good luck everybody. - Eve.

This one will take a while I see!

I got really lucky for a change and got this one on my first try with 19 moves left. I actually don't know how I did it, but suddenly I had no more jellies on the first belt and got two chocolate bombs next to each other. Combining them wiped out all but one jelly and I got that one with a stripe. Good luck - Gabi

Boring, Boring, Boring Level

Hey, I'm just wondering for you guys who passed this level are you playing on your phones or PC's? So far I've only played on my phone and am having a really difficult time, just w/ clearing the bombs! I only managed to once after almost 10 tries! That time I got down to two jellies. I'm wondering if I should switch to PC & see if it's any easier. That's what happened to me w/ 578. I'm just not getting any good opportunities to make specials on the top to take the bombs out. Grrr....

Anonymous said...

Another stupid level of bombs - no skill required just lucky board again. We need skill games at this level not a developer obsessed by bombs!

Played on phone. Early chocolate bomb plus striped candy needy with same colour candy in both bottom rows. This cleared all the jelly but one. Then another chocolate bomb did the trick. Did the level whilst waiting at the dentist.

Anonymous said...

Piece of cake. Matched a free fish with a striped candy. Totally cleared the jelly in only my 5th move! Thank you to all Crushers for their postings on this site. Many tips invaluable.

I don't think this level is doable without a tremendous amount of luck. 3 times I've gotten down to a blank jelly on the side and there's just no way to get it without a perfect board. That's no fun.

Anonymous said...

This level is hard enough without the special candies not behaving properly. Several times now I have made a vertical stripe that should have taken out a jelly and didn't. No licorice in the way or anything to stop it. I've started paying close attention and it has happened more than once.

Anonymous said...

It happened again. A vertical did not take out a jelly. This is probably a dozen times now. I reported it to King but I'm ready to quit because of it. I am certain it us happening.

Anonymous said...

I'm sorry but I really don't understand the strategy of using a sprinkle ball/stripe to the clear out the bottom jellies. In theory that sounds good but the several times I've tried it I'm left with a row of jellies with no candy in them which makes it nearly impossible to get rid of. I even had two sprinkle balls together once and I thought "finally it will clear the row". Nope. IT DIDN'T TAKE OUT EVEN ONE, WTF. I am sick of this board. About the only success I've had is to match a sprinkle ball with the color in the outside jellies. How often does that happen and you have to do it four times. IMPOSSIBLE.

Anonymous said...

I am so tired of the glitches and bugs in this level. I had a hammer and one jelly left so I thought I try it on a blank jelly thinking maybe it might work. It didn't of course but then it would't let me put the hammer back. It MADE me smash something and waste my hammer. I am beyond tired of this boring boring level.

Anonymous said...

I spent 3 days getting nowhere close. Then got. Spotted next to a blue stripe. Since there were no blues on the bottom row I followed the advice above and ignored it. Managed yo get a red stripe next to it which then took out the first layer. Then got lucky with 2 spotted which I moved next to each other and bang, the rest all gone, with 30 moves left. Only 1 star but I'm not bothered about that.

I got this level on the 3rd try. Used a color bomb and striped two times.

oh wow, this one is going to be 'one of those' - it will go on for days, and I vow I'm not going to play anymore.....

Anonymous said...

Worst level ever and miracle I got it out with 3 stars....stripe choc combos only way andvlots of luck to make them .. one less color wld hv made this easier....goodness knows what is next

Anonymous said...

One move and done, I used a color bomb booster and a stripe/wrap booster, I reset the game till I could combo the bomb and stripe AND had the same color candies in the lower row, 4 yellow in this case, I made the combo and two of the yellows below became horizontal stripes... Game over.

This appears to be a level which wants to drain you of your fish boosters. After numerous attempts - mostly not making it due to the bombs and not being able to detonate them before they exploded (mostly due to what seems to be a horrible bug that when I was going to use a vertical striped, but it made another special, it didn't blow the vertical - VERY annoying!) I figured to use the Fish Booster. Only that one. It worked - when I combined the Fish Booster with a striped, which wiped up most of the bottom row. The other fish took care of the other two jellies. Got it before the bombs exploded. I had a hard time on this level - even striped with a sprinkle combination used TWICE in a game didn't do the job (I was left with one jelly - and I don't have a hammer.) Glad it's over.

Anonymous said...

Just a heads up on this level. I was down to one jelly and tried to use my last free hammer lollipop and I wouldn't work down there on that row, so don't waste your lollipop hammers on this level, will not work!

Anonymous said...

c/candycrush here.

I had trouble on this level. I feel embarrassed to admit it here, but I was nearly always wiped out by one of the bombs.

I understand about trying to keep candies in the bottom row as otherwise you can't use lollipop hammers and a sprinkle/stripe combo can't work as well unless it has a candy to convert. You need to get it early in the game, I think.

I tried and tried, & made several combos but wasn't getting close. Half the time my special candies would explode before I could use them or combine them.

So in despair I clicked to use one of the free stripe/wraps & fish from the daily spins.

It put a fish next to a wrap. I didn't use it immediately as I saw a chance to make a stripe elsewhere and later on, a wrap next to it.
So the fish/stripe plus a wrap/stripe cleared every jelly and left me finished with about 39 moves left over.

I know had I continued to play, the system would have given me another fish along the way too.

I can recommend clicking those-the fish and stripe/wrap freebies. Just watch the bombs, because unless they get cleared, it is game over no matter what.

I quickly became disenchanted with this level. I read all the wonderful comments here, but couldn't make these things happen. I would make stripes only to have them go off making another move. Then I made a chocolate bomb, early on like the other person in the above comments, while I was working to get one of the many stripes I had on the board close, it went off. Another bomb was quickly made, then another. I deliberately set off the first of these two leaving the last bomb near a stripe.... Yay! That level is over. But, it was mostly luck with some deliberate moves mixed in.

Anonymous said...

Please help me get through this very difficult level 585. I keep getting down to 1 or 2 jellies left and run out of moves. This is just awful! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. P.S. I have tried everything everyone has posted and it helped, but I'm still left with at least one jelly on either side. UGH!

Anonymous said...

Horrid level, unless you have a lot of luck to make sprinkle stripe combos, you can kiss it goodbye. Stripes do not seem to work at times. One of those where you quickly get fed up.

Anonymous said...

Don't strain your brain with this level. You can tell immediately a lot of luck is needed to complete it, so I used chocolate bomb, fish and stipe/wrap from free daily spins all at once. I made a stripe next to the chocolate bomb, set it off, then the fish did the rest. Over with 45 moves to spare.

Down to one jelly as in many times , so i've decided to go ahead and use my lone switcher from the daily wheel to swap a vertical stripe removing the right hand side down corner jelly, Done !

Anonymous said...

No boring. And seems undoable. :(

Anonymous said...

Not a fun level at all! Taking a break before I get so frustrated that I'm over the whole thing!

Raylo said...

HELP!!!! I've tried everything! I've had as many as three disco balls, tons of combos, tons of stripes, and everything that was suggested. I CANNOT clear this level. So discouraging! :((

Raylo said...

I hate this level! Worst ever!

Raylo said...

FINALLY! Got it. Pure luck.

Dirk said...

I haven't had any luck in being able to make color bombs a.k.a. disco balls. That would take a very lucky board, and it looks like this level would take at least really good color bomb combos to clear. If striped candies can be made and are in a position to take out the bombs, then do so. Otherwise, it won't matter. Been stuck here for days and it doesn't look like I'm going anywhere anytime soon.

Anonymous said...

I had 1 jelly left and decided to use a lollipop hammer and be done with it. I couldn't use it, I guess because there wasn't a candy in the jelly. Grrrrr

Anonymous said...

Never fails, after visiting this page. I passed. Next level is a doozie.

Anonymous said...

Such a hard level! No way to buy yourself out either!

Anonymous said...

Sorry guys found it quite easy, completed first time with 20 moves left.

I had been playing this level for a while without any success and wondering how I was ever going to get it. Then I did what the same as the first comment. I used a booster fish, combined it with a striped candy, it swam to the lower level and it wiped out every jelly. I could not believe it, but the level was completed.

Anonymous said...

OMG, I was stuck until I combined a fish and a stripped candy. It cleared the bottom row totally. Yeah baby, yeah!

Anonymous said...

I got lucky! Two disco balls next to each other took out all the bombs and left two jellies. Easy to make verticals to pick off remaining jelly!

Unknown said...

Def not an easy one. I've been on it for two days

Unknown said...

Listened to ur advice. Three stars, four moves!

Unknown said...

I couldn't keep from hitting candies on the bottom row so I just kept trying. Hard level but be patient and wait for that lucky board!
