The answer to the question of how to pass level 677 seems to be to use as many boosters as it takes!
One week after the release of this episode there is only one video on YT made without boosters.
I only know one or two people who have passed it without boosters so it seems level 677 is yet another level designed to make players buy boosters.
I found that the best way to get through this level was to almost ignore the stripes provided along the sides and work on making stripes in the center part of the board.
Just take a few seconds to check on whether the stripes were unlocked and move any candies off the conveyor that are likely to detonate them too early.
If you can get stripes onto the conveyor it may be possible to get them together that way.

If you do have boosters from the wheel I would suggest you save as many hands and lollies as you can. The hands are useful to move 2 stripes together and the lollies can do the same by knocking out a candy below.
One member of our FB group has suggested leaving the cream blockers and locked stripes until you have another stripe ready to match with them before unlocking.
But it seems to be just a case of playing very carefully so as not to inadvertantly ruin any combos you are setting up.

However, I am losing interest in CC already because all so-called difficult levels are the one with fewer moves but need luck or money to accomplish it. I understand it is a tough job to the designers as they need to maximize company' revenue while allowing players to get satisfaction.
Anyway, I can see that CC designers are running out of idea to design a good game. Even you break 677, there will be another so-called difficult level with higher requirement but even fewer moves so that player need to pay for it.
I suggest King to make it a paid game so that such 677 will not exist.
I managed to do it yeah without booster and 4 moves to go so it can be done, was stuck on it for 3 weeks but there is hope ccs fans so dont give up got 3 stars with total of 165,380 good riddance to level 677 can move on with my life now
King am going on holidays for 2 weeks and maybe when I get back I will complete this level. Personally I think it is impossible. Have been trying for weeks with no luck and am not alone. Will be playing cookie jam which is enjoyable, challenging but doable. Please King I have come this far and bought some boosters on the way so PLEASE simplify this level.
I have erased Candy Crush from the apps list in facebook. Bye to all the stars I got, all the friends I beat, everything.
It's stupid to design a level, and then lower the moves and increase the goal. This is a matter of 5 minutes to a game developer, and months trying for a gamer. why 10 combos? why not 15? 20? and so on.
I'm the happiest man in the world right now. KING can't count me now as a zombie in their huge player's list.
One less, and also I'll never play another of their stupid games.

This is not "insanely hard" . This is INSANELY IMPOSSIBLE! I've beaten 655 and 664 twice and have not even come close on this on! This will definitely take over number one on Wiki's hardest level in reality poll. 655 is cake compared to this one.
everyone suddenly passing this level as i have today, still had 4 moves left and got 3 stars it can be done and i dont think they have improved it, its still difficult as it has been before

I can only get the use of 5 life's when I go to the wee envelope to retrieve life's from fellow crushers the page is blank,I accumulate many life's throughout the day but can only access 5 , please candy crush this level is hard enough without some wee nippy sweetie taking my life's ... Extremely frustrating level; King wants to squeeze our pockets. There is nothing more to this. Its just pure luck and probably one in a 1000 tries that may take you near to the target. Unless you are prepared to spend 30 to 40 $, to buy every kind of booster there is no salvation.
It is possible to get through the level without boosters, but you need a very lucky board. After many tries, I got a lucky board and a very lucky blind drop from the top of the board to give me the last combo on the second to last play. Advice above is right. Focus on the center and let the sides take care of themselves. It doesn't make sense to try to open up the sides and clear the marshmallow between stripes because it chews up too many moves. After 677 its clear sailing all the way to 690.
There is a new update for the app that fixes the empty licorice wraps. It seems a little easier to make stripes too somehow. Still very difficult.
This level is by far the most impossible level to get through so far without boosters. I think it is absolutely impossible to get it out in 35 moves. I bought 2 x extra moves (which I hate buying!) and had two hands boosters left from daily spin and got through. Really not impressed that you have to resort to buying boosters, but the makers aren't going to listen to me or all the other people complaining about it...they're here to make money and that's what they've done here on this level and will continue to do as the game goes on. They make easy levels to keep us going then throw in ridiculas ones like this to get $ out of the serious ppl who wanna keep playing.
This has to be the hardest level yet. I have been stuck for 3 weeks now. I see this to be impossible even with boosters-this level has totally taken the fun out of the game and I am slowing loosing interest. They need to modify this NOW!
Very hard indeed on the pc - but impossible on Android tablet or phone as the stripes still detonate when you clear the liquorice from them - this problem has been there for ages so why no fix?? Supremely boring - no incentive to keep playing. AS
They have increased the moves to 40 now and making stripes are easy, but they still keep on blowing. Going to try again and hope to succeed soon.
At last finished this level with 4 moves left and no boosters. They have made this level easy now by removing one color and increasing 5 moves. So now we have 40 moves and 4 colors which makes making the stripes easy. Also bombs are far and few.

I finally did it after almost 2 weeks. I got down to 3 combos with 16 moves left. I took my chance and used 3 switches in 5 moves to complete it. This is a really tough one, you can't plan ahead. Take the combo whenever possible. DO NOT SAVE IT FOR THE NEXT MOVE.
Looks like they've increased the number of moves to 40. Have gotten down to one left w/o boosters.
OK, now finally a little 'help' from King, but still difficult to get. On computer, updated to 40 moves and eliminated a color, making stripes much easier to achieve. HOWEVER, with less colors means lots of cascading and blowing up of your carefully created stripes. At least a little more 'fun', but still don't think it will be easy.
This is the worst level yet. I hate it! I am beginning to hate Candy Crush altogether!
Finally passed this level today.Worst level so far.No real hints just need to hang in there till finally you get aboard that things line up.Got down to 2 stripes left and used hand to match up 2 stripes.Good luck all.Know how boring and frustrating this level is.
Finally passed this level using gold bars saved up and buying 2x extra 5 moves, plus 2 lollipops, was getting so sick of it! I think it has been modified lately but now everything explodes all over the place once you get going, make you moves early on in the middle.
I finally passed this abomination after being stuck for almost a month! Even with the recent tweak that King has done you still need a LOT of luck because cascading WILL ruin any and all of your current stripes that you may have planned on combining.
Finally passed the modified version on PC today after 300+ tries.
Start making your stripes in the middle, that will open up the locked ones eventually.
Don't give up, I made it within the very last move and quickly took my hands away from the mouse so as not to ruin everything.

Thankyou candy crush , this level is so much better and actually enjoyable to play , so many more chances to make the required amount of stripped candy ,I'm getting so close to clearing the level now . best chances still come from making the candys in the middle ,it's a bit dodge and weave because there are so many stripes now but it makes the game more fun ,plus the scores are amazingly high now ... happy candy crusher ... be happier when I clear this level #thatisall
Level still horrible after King modified it to 40 moves and 1 less color. Definitely helps in creating stripes, and for the most part the bombs take care of themselves. HOWEVER, horrible.. horrible cascading each and every time. You are hoping that with every move your stripes don't explode. All I can say about this modification is that it's more 'fun', but at the end I'm no better than the original version. Still usually need at least 4 combos.
Whoever said this level now has just 4 colors is wrong.. it was 6 colors, now 5 after modification.
They finally fixed this level. They added 5 more moves to make it 40 and I believe they removed the yellow candy. This made much more manageable. After the changes, it only took me 3 tries to complete this level.
I FINALLY beat the level tonight with 3 moves left! I lined up my stripes and always looked ahead for other striped combos before playing one so I think that helped stringing multiple combos along. Just had to be cautious of the conveyor belt and how the candies line up. I was able to get 7 pretty quickly and I still had 18 moves at that point. My previous best was losing with 2 combos left and I usually lost with needing 5 or 6 so maybe the stars just aligned for me like it has to with other boards. Good luck everyone, it CAN be done!
Oh yeah, I beat it on my laptop, if that helps. I tried it on the iPhone too but seemed like I had better success on the PC instead.
Well they fixed the glitch on the app and it seemed easier to make stripes but I passed it on Facebook with no boosters. Like the many previous "impossible" levels this one just takes enough patience to wait for the lucky board where everything seems to fall into place. Still the best and original of its genre. Thats why we all have stuck with it this long. Keep them coming King

Now that they have made it easier, it only took me about ten attempts to complete this one. You still need to be very careful, but definitely doable...
I get so close , was down to needing one stripe and took my eye of the bomb ..damn , i must be a rubbish cc player ,everybody has over taken me and im still stuck ...
This level is terrible. I've gotten down to 2 combos twice, but basically you just need super luck to win this one. Not really a fun level. I have needed an excuse to quit though, and I have a feeling this is it.
I'm not even above buying the occasional boosters (King has to make their money somehow) but only if I'm at least getting close to winning! Surely King would know that with their psychologists etc on staff.
I know quite a few people that gave up playing for good because of this level, I'll give it another shot now that they've apparently made it a bit easier but they would have lost a lot of pretty loyal players over this.
When will there be a change for iPad/iPhone? Impossible to beat this level with 35 moves and 6 colors!
I finally got thru this frustrating level !!! Bet I was stuck on this stinking level over 3 weeks. I would never spend $$ on this game...I never won anything on the wheel I could use during the whole time I was stuck on it either...so I say it was just pure luck or the game finally realized it was time to let me win. King posted they updated on October 1 to make this level easier but I've seen no such update. I'm playing on iOS. Has anyone seen it?
so the people at king changed this level, due to the numerous complaints they received about the difficulty of this level. great! they changed it! great! some people find it easier and have completed it. not great, is the fact that every time i make a striped candy now, it explodes for no reason, i have been able to make less combos, than when before it was fixed.
They must of changed it... After trying since it came out I did it this morning without any boosters.
Finally! Took me about a month, but finally just did this! It's only by coming here that I realised there had been an update on this level - I had certainly noticed that it was appearing to be more doable this morning. I used the conveyor belt a lot to try and get the stripes moving around the board - didn't always work, but it did mean that I was getting within 2 or 3 combos left on the last few tries. Phew! Thank God that level's over!
A few tips...
1) Don't focus on the outer stripes that are locked in licorice. If you have the chance, go ahead and unlock them but don't make it a priority.
2) Don't fret about the bombs. Most of the time they will detonate by themselves with a cascade or when you make a combo.
3) Play the inside of the board. Make as many stripes in the middle as you can.
4) Carefully look at the board each time the conveyor moves for a way to make a stripe.
It took some doing, but this board is definitely one of those that is passable without using any boosts. A heck of a lot easier than 655! If you've made it this far, you can do this one too. :)
Even with the update this is still virtually impossible to pass - so many bugs in this level with stripes going off all over the place with no other matching colours around them!! Get it fucking sorted King you bunch of money grabbing wankers!
FINALLY! THANK YOU KING! They loosened it up. You can now make lots of stripes and although you lose a lot to explosions at least it's doable. Once they made it less hard it only took me a few games to pass. I wish this comment would go to the top so discouraged people could see it.

Although I got it, I start wanting to quit candy crush because it starts boring. The so-called difficult level need best luck while skill is not the critical part.
several times I got 3 or 4 combo left. 2 times got 2 combo left.
My checklist for every move is:
- forgot about the bomb, do not waste more than 1 move to clean it
- try create strip in 1 or 2 move
- merge two strip in 1 or 2 move
and make sure you don't hurt other strip
- move the strip to the moving track
- do not open the blocked strip intentionally until you found that merge of two strip take place
After many frustrating weeks playing this level, I finally passed it. I wish I could tell you how but I really wasn't paying much attention because I always lose and didn't expect to win....I was watching tv and not analyzing my moves so I guess one in a thousand boards... they make it easier. I used one lollipop hammer at the end. So it is possible but definitely needs tweeking. They should have listened and done something by now!
I finished this level on my second try with 22 moves left. I thought this one was a breeze!
No one has passed until recently. I have had no success the closest I came was 2 combos left and that was only on one occasion. When was the post about an update posted? Is one expected? This level is truly no fun. At least 300 lives lost And no way coming close.
This level is nuts! Never seen so many candies crushing on their own. Makes so many wraps they are constantly exploding! When is that update?
This is by far the stupidest level yet! Boring and there is no challenge. Relying on luck not skill, 1 or 2 tries out of hundreds to get even close to beating it is No Fun. Time for a different game CC.
Finished it, before the update Ended up using one booster. Found the wasp one worse than this. Got mostly lucky though too, had 8 moves to get 2 more pairs. Needed one extra move or use the booster to swap. Then party time
Never thought I would say it but I am over Candy Crush!! From looking forward to my next game, for longer than I care to admit, on this level I have been having to make myself have another few goes every now and then, just in case I get my "lucky board". I rarely even use up my five lives, because I get bored before then. This level is virtually impossible - just when you think you have lined up two stripes, things move and suddenly everything blows up! I have been playing for long enough not to be a beginner, but it seems that the odds are against me with this one. I can see that King might have wanted to slow us up while getting the next levels ready, but this has clearly backfired - they have lost lots of us here. In the meantime I have found other things to do with my life, so I suppose I should thank King rather than feeling a sense of loss and disappointment. Good luck to any Crushers who get through!
I have all the updates, yet I still only have 35 moves, so not sure if they've already removed the update giving 40 moves so you're forced to by boosters or not. Getting a little over this level like everyone else. Might be time to delete the app and regain lots of time in my life back!

I just noticed that on my candy crush level 677, I had 5 moves left with 2 combos to get. I made one move and all of a sudden I had only 2 moves left. Something took away some moves. I have noticed this throughout.
Updated this app yesterday (Android). Passed this level this morning after seferal tries. I am not an expert player by any means; if I can pass this one, others can, too!
I have completed Level 677 with one Hathoda in last move today.

This level is going to be costly. After about 100 tries, I got down to only needing one more and I was out of moves so I paid for extra moves because there were two stripes fairly close to each other then paid for two hands and finally got it. The next level is a pain too because there are two pies with jelly under them and the only way to break the pies is with stripes. Yuk201

If you're planning to play this level until you can beat it without any boosters, don't count on it! Good riddance to this horrid mess of a level!
When I unlock the Licorice Cage, the Strip Candy inside explodes at the same time. This is different from when I saw in youtube. Anything wrong?

I never thought I would ever say this, but this board is way to generous with the chocolate bombs, it destroys your chances with matching up the 10 stripe combos, you just can't plan anything. Plenty of opportunities only for something to shift and blow it all up.
Not giving up, just getting frustrated. This is the third time I'm writing on this stupid board, wondering if the King powers will see that i'm a hard core player and deserve that lucky board. After spending over a week and 400 lives.

I finally made it through 2x.After 3 weeksI just worked on the inside sections ,I didnt do anything with the conveyor belt but just kept my eyes on the bombs.The first time it didnt register so I had to do it again DAMN.But I did it.Hey we all made it this far Dont give up.I almost did but I wouldnt let a game beat me!! Good Luck All!! Dont give up Now I am on 693 and the rest of the levels are challenging..677 is and was the hardest yet!!
Completed this level on the PC after playing for a day. You have to be really careful and try not to blow up other things whilst setting up your stripe combos. I found the conveyer belt helpful but I think I also got a luckier board than previously. At first the best I could do was 4 stripe combos left but I started to take great care with every move. I didn't find the bombs to be too much of a problem exploding them asap. I was stuck on level 655 for over a month so this level was a breeze for me. Just be patient and careful with your every move. Quite exciting when you succeed.

Well, whoopee! We now get 40 moves which just gives us extra moves to blow up everything! You cannot plan combos, as you have no really control over the board. I've tried to be strategic only to have a chocolate bomb meet a stripe and "bang, bang, bang" everything well laid plan blown to smithereens! I don't know what people are talking about re: buying boosters, I don't know what you could buy to make this work - the board is very generous with "natural" boosters that you don't even want. This is the devil, just in time for Halloween! Obviously, it's possible to complete, but not seemingly, probably. Not sure how much longer I'll continue.....
Just beat level 677 how? Luck and persistance please modify that level king it takes the fun out of the game . You have to be serius about beating it or it will beat you for days, weeks and maybe months i was on it weeks.221

Yeah this level is tough and I haven't passed it yet, (been on it for a few days now, maybe 5-10 tries per day if that) and i've gotten to 1 combo left with one lined up and 0 moves left with no boosters. I routinely get between 1-3 combos left so i feel its just a matter of time. The bombs are never a problem becuase if you are making combos 9 times out of ten they get taken out by stripes or wraps going off., gf beat it using one "free switch" boost she got from the wheel. this one doesnt seem anywhere near as tough as like 500 or levels like that
Big deal - 40 moves - just more moves to blow up what you have planned! I really am not pouting, but this is just beyond silly. I like a challenging game, but what's the point when you can't have any kind of planning? I don't understand what people are saying about boosters, in my opinion there are too many 'natural' boosters happening on the board which blows up everything, what boosters could possibly help? If you for instance, use a hand switch, you have no control of what drops down to destroy what you have switched.....I don't get it.

another week on this level and not even close..i play on my phone, tablet, and on the pc...can get to 3 combo's left but then all hell breaks loose and everything blows up...if King thinks i'm going to buy boosters to play a game , well thats not gonna happen.. games are supposed to be relaxing and fun, but to play the same thing over and over again - just isn't right...guess, its time to put away the KING games and find another form of relaxing play!
Did it with 2 lollipop hammers. Patience and it gets done. Those who are complaining about it being difficult - what exactly do you expect from Level 677?? What's the fun in having a level which doesn't challenge your thought processes? Keep at it and you'll get through it.
I just beat 677 on my iPad. No boosters, three stars and moves left over. Hooray!
Finally passed this level. The key is patience. Plan each move carefully. Use every opportunity to make stripes. Use the conveyer belt to your advantage to match stripes. Good luck! It can be done.
You evil thing, you! But I came and I conquered you this morning! Sorry people, no tips or strategy to offer, it's pure luck. I did use 2 lollipops for the last two combos. Three moves left, 3 stars. May a lucky board come your way.
Good news peeps, level has changed to only completing 5 combo's on PC, Iphone and Ipad haven't changed yet, not sure about Android, but extra colour has been added so still hard but there is hope..cheers
I played over 100 games on the kindle and could never get 10 pair of stripes. Today I played on my pc and realized that I only needed a total of 5 sets of stripes!!! How's that possible????
I just passed this first time on the PC - only required 5 combos to pass instead of the 10 required when playing on my iPhone (which was impossible!). Passed on PC first time, no boosters. This must be the update. :-D
Finally after what seemed months and only getting down to one combo once...I just got this out. Three moves and one combo left..one stripe in bottom corner I made another stripe on belt and two switches to put them together...only one move lost and bingo....never have I been happier to complete a level. I did not play thus much as ut was so disheartening but having go to one combo I knew it was possible however have never cursed so much everytime I played. I see above and not surprised this level is being modified. Glad they took notice of the impossible target set...guess I just got lucky but never felt it was easy...perserverence!! Whats next? ???
So weird as I just posted I passed this level before I knew there was an update to 40 moves...i did it with the old 35 moves...one combo . needed. ..3 moves.left. one stripe on board sirring right bottom. I had a stipe to.make on conveyor belt..then two switches to get them together...one move...only afyer hundreds of attempts..it was only cause I had been down to one once before.that i knew it could be done...after so much frustration I know u all get...I just backed off not playing for hours on end .... 40 moves shld help.you still stuck...dont give up....waiting on unlocks.for next section...save all yr switches and hammers from daily wheel as u will get there. Refreshing to move on and play a clear jelly level next that was done 1st attempt.
Too funny as i had been checking for updates for a simplified version...but hadnt for a week or so...I.got with 35 moves....3 moves to.go..one stripe on board..made one with next move and two switches..done..thank goodness.

I finally passed this level on my IPhone a couple weeks ago. It was updated from 35 to 40 moves but no color had been removed. I don't remember how many moves I had left (if any). It took some skill and a lot of luck. I just checked and there are still 40 moves, all colors and 10 matches to be made. I guess some people are lucky enough to only have to make 5 matches now. Just crazy that the updates are so hit and miss. I HATED this level. I recently finished 710, the last level on my phone for now. Good luck to all who are still stuck on this miserable level.
I just got on this lvl yesterday, and passed it today with no boosters and 4 moves left. Its possible.
They reduced the number to 5 today. Finally! It's now a breeze. Passed first time once they made the change. They listened!
It's now November and no improvements have been made. the fun has been sucked out of the game.

Bloody level just updated on my phone...run go play! Combos dropped from 10 to 5!!!! Piece of cake now, passed first try, no boosters...hallelujah...been trying to pass this level for weeks!!!!!

Not loading after updating level 677.
Did it after 150+ tries. Pay less attention to the bomb-if they get you, move on. Matches will hold longer on the bottom corners. Don't hesitate-match-blow it! Kinda ornery, but fun.
Well there is a very easy way to pass the level. Play it from your PC. You need only 5 combos !! I did it in a few tries using only a booster. Good luck to all.
I beat 677 in only 3 chances..no booster..damn.it was very easy...dont understand why other players said it was damn too difficult
I have to say I’m in agreement with most of the comments above this is a stupid boring level. It’s near impossible to get what’s required as everything just explodes so why even bother trying and if that’s the case there’s no point in playing this sad game anymore. King you must be so proud of your programmers as they’re losing you players with these levels.
Yes I know I needed just 5 combos. But whenever I got the stripes close they self-blow. Even after using my hammers/hand switch they blew up right away, so wasted those hammers/hand switches. Not to mention that their AI always controls what candies to drop in such a way you cannot make stripes or detonate existing stripes. When I say AI that means there's no randomness in candy spawns whatsoever.
