Candy Crush Saga Level 817

Tips for level 817 Candy Crush Saga
There are only 2 ingredients to collect in level 817, and they are both locked in and need keys to unlock them.
The keys will fall randomly from the top of the board as you make matches, but you will also have 8 move bombs falling which need to be cleared at the same time.
To make matters even worse there are licorice swirls falling too!
So really your aim is to keep the bombs under control as you collect the keys and try not to let the licorice block the board too much.
You need to collect 4 keys to unlock the ingredients and once they are unlocked they have to be moved over into an exit column.
If you make a match alongside the ingredients as soon as they are unlocked they will slip out diagonally into an exit column, but if not you will have to move them over. But don't forget about the bombs, they will continue to fall and make lifr difficult for you.

A little rougher than the past few levels. The bombs and the licorice can be troublesome. I passed it on the third try with a pretty lucky board. The fruit had a tendency to just come straight down and was hard to move over. Luci

After the keys are eliminated and the fruit comes down, a stripe/wrap at the bottom, will let the fruit slip right out.

Anyone else on this level having a glitch? I get both fruit down but it only registers the cherries going down. The first time it happened, I thought maybe I didn't read see it correctly and I more than two fruit but I just played again, both fruit went down, had over 100K and the game kept going. No other fruit drops so I can't win. Grrrr!

JanC here. Played a few times. Found it annoying. Having just discovered dreamworld during this recent cc hiatus, I was ready to just ignore 817 until they nerfed it but gave it a shot just now, got both ingredients close to exits, no bombs about to explode, and used two free boosters: a hand to switch one fruit to an exit column, then a hammed to open the exit and they both dropped through. Three stars but boosters used. Ah well, that's what they're for, eh?

I've been playing this level for over 3 weeks now. At least 40 times a day. I can not even get close to completing it. What gives?!!!

The bombs are a killer. Thought I would have to save up my hammers before I would pass but ended up beating it without any hammers. Combine a chocolate with a stripe and you should win

c/candycrush here

Got through after about 20 or 30 tries, no boosters, I may have been lucky as the fruit slipped sideways in most games, I would not have had time to move it plus kill the bombs etc

I did notice one thing. It seems no matter how well you play, the keys come down randomly, and in a few of my games, the last couple of keys I needed did not come onto the board till I was close to the end, leaving me about 4 moves to match the key plus get the fruit out. Didn't happen. Other games, they came down much earlier.

Early key release in my final game plus Stripe/wrap helped me out a lot.

@Anonymous - 31 January 2015 at 05:19. I had the same problem/glitch. I had both ingredients fall through with a lot of moves left, but only got credit for the cherry. I played all the way through to make sure I made the 100,000+ score, but it still never credited it to my ingredients. So I lost the game.
Hmmm, sounds like a potential random problem.

Hard part was moving the fruit sideways after they drop. Keep an eye on the bombs. Enjoyable.

Used switch hand and a hammer.. ouch!! But that's the easiest way out of this level :) -russ-

Not enjoyable for me. Don't like 2 minute games lost immediately to bombs with nothing around to defuse them. I don't do the asking friends for lives or resetting the time things, so it's a long wait due to a bad board, which irks me.

Other than the usual careful use of combos, can't think of a better use of the hand switch I was lucky I had.

Not so bad. Focus on the bombs. Try to keep to one side so that you don't have bombs falling on both but it is doable. Ingredients usually move to the side when you get a match below and diagonal to them.

Thanks for the above tip!!
First try after I had read the comment.

ANOTHER boring random level . It looks like there are 2 programmers on this game. One lazy and one that enjoys making interesting plays for us. Obviously this level was done with the lazy one, as its simple a level with all the annoying features put together. Time to take another break from CC.

Oh, so lucky on my (at least) 20th try. I managed the bombs and keys and got one fruit down, then switched the final one. Thank goodness I had a switch hand available! Three stars. That was not a fun level.

About the 20th try, got a wrap/stripe towards the bottom which opened the last keys and dropped both ingredients down and through the exits. Need a lucky board to win this one. 3 stars, no boosters.

I've played the level half a dozen times, and have not experienced the problem with late-falling keys that others have mentioned. My problem has been bombs I can't even get to.

This is a toughie. It's hard getting them to move over and when you do you need a good match to bring it down!! Can on my assume a hammer from daily spin wheel is going to do that unless again you get a real lucky Board.

This is a weird one! The keys don't drop until too far into the game. It's almost impossible to destroy the bombs in time. Hmmmmmm......

A hole level. Just when you started to actually enjoy the game again, they throw a nasty almost impossible one at you.
Once again you will get sick of trying until CC gods decide you can pass. Walking away may be the next option!!

After reading the comments and tips above, and then playing a couple of times, I decided that this was a good level for boosters. I had no problem it seemed with the keys falling but the bombs would fall and sooner rather than later one would slip to the side under the locks. There would be an open space above it that no other candy could fall into until I could open up some more of the board and the bomb would explode before I had that chance. I used one of the many (18) coconut wheels I had saved up then kept backing out of the game until it was in a spot where I could use it to make stripes to knock out those pesky hanging bombs. With just a few moves left both of my fruits fell right into to middle. One I was able to switch with a candy, the other I used another free hand switch to move. I ended up with 3 stars and 238,400 pts. I have no problem at all using boosters to complete some of these tricky levels rather than getting stuck on them for days (if a booster is useful, sometimes they aren't much help). But lollipops and hand switches are my 'other' CC friends lol.
