Candy Crush Saga level 879

Tips for level 879 Candy Crush Saga
Level 879 is an ingredients level needing to collect 3 cherries.
The exits for the fruit are in the three middle squares of the row which is separated from the rest of the board and locked. In order to unlock the exits you have to collect five keys, 4 of these are themselves locked!
The keys are collected in the order marked on the image below and need stripes or colour bombs or any combo to collect them as they are separated from the main part of the board so matching them is impossible. Each key you remove will unlock the next. If you make stripes in the bottom half that are not in line with the keys, work in the top half to get the stripes onto the conveyor and they will move over the keys to collect them.

Once the exits are unlocked the fruit can be collected using a vertical stripe or stripe/wrap combo as the fruit moves over the exits. Get the fruit onto the conveyor by working in the top half. Don't waste the specials by using them too soon. Wait until the fruit is over the exits.

Haven't played many games yet, but having a difficult time getting the keys. Tips are good, just not getting good boards...or maybe I need more practice. JS

Played this many times and not even coming close

Anonymous said...

When will this be available for my IPad?

Got after MANY tries with a lucky board

Passed this one finally after buying 5 extra moves after many attempts. Just very ridiculous the keys are in extremely hard spots to hit... Very frustrating. Not proud of buying 5 moves to get thru.

Terrible level. Can't ever get the key on the far left! Very frustrating. I want a board like the one here!

Finally got a decent board, but had 1 fruit left to go requiring 3 moves along belt to get to first spot to drop, and only 2 moves left, luckily I had a switch which I used to move along 1 spot and dropped with a double stripe. 1 star only but glad to be through.

Horrible level, too many keys!!
No fun at all!

Finally got it with one star. Used a chocolate ball to get key #4. I found that one the most difficult to get. A chocolate/ stripe combo dropped .2 cherries and a stripe dropped the third. Thank heavens I'm through this one. Very difficult.

Time to quit. Ive wasted way too much money and time for this bullshit. This level has put me over the edge. They make it almost impossible. Im done.

Took a few tries to figure out bottom candies move to top only by moving top candies in the same rows. So...
my tips would be to make whatever bottom combos you can and move them only when appropriate, if possible. Save any choc balls only for any keys you can't get rid of another way, as choc balls will be useful at the end to let fruit exit. If you're lucky enough to be able to match a choc ball with a stripe of the same color as a middle row key (as I was in one game I lost anyhow) it does real damage.

Good luck.

If you have any donut boosters, they work great here!

Very easy level. No need to worry about getting a lucky board. Just follow the order of the keys and plan around that has mentioned in the blog. I did that and get the fruit on the conveyor and planned dropping them into the teleporters. It was all strategy.... my favorite.... NOT LUCK AT ALL. Have fun with this level... it really is very fun.

JanC here. Omg! Literally as I was thinking, "This is the worst level *ever*!" I passed! Still hadn't even figured out how it worked. So, I had the three ingredients in the middle strip, I did a match three below them and out they went! Still shocked: thought I'd be stuck on this one awhile. Talk about dumb luck! One star but so glad to have it. Good luck, all.

2nd try, no boosters, 2 stars. It's a tricky level to understand how it works but once you do, you can carefully plan moves in advance to get the fruit out. Once you have a move in place, make moves at the bottom so you don't risk messing up your play while you wait for the fruit to move to the right spot on the conveyor.

Anonymous said...

Finding this level very difficult...... What are doughnut boosters??? I don't have & have never seen them!!! I play on an iPad, so many times people who play on a PC find it easier and have more opportunities!! So not fair, the game should be the same for everyone!! Grrrrr.....

I think I must be dyslexic! Lol I can't seem to even get all keys! Thanks for the tip Cat and the donut for above is your coconut wheel. Good tip but tried it once and I only got to use one effectively! This one may take awhile I'm afraid!

Well after posting I decided to throw a sprinkle AND coconut from daily spin on this one! Got my sprinkle matched to a stripe and opened all keys! Then it was just getting the fruit and stripes in place but I got so excited when I was down to one fruit and had made a sprinkle that I set it off after the fruit was one away from teleport! Duh... Had to buy a move to finish but couldn't face starting over LOL
Thank you Cat. Use your daily spin- just not worth suffering!

Finally got through this one but used two hammers to get the last two fruits to drop. One star

Hi all. I need to amend my prior post. I'm playing this level while waiting to be sent the next batch of fresh torture, and need to add a correction and a few observations.

A choc ball/stripe combo of the same color as a center key doesn't cause any more damage than usual, except maybe if it's the final key, which is I think what happened to me before. You don't actually need to get all of the keys, as fruit will still drop if space is open beneath. To get the difficult keys if you don't have a choc ball, try to make whatever possible vertical stripes and get them on the belt. Then try to put a few of the same colors as the stripe in the vicinity of the key so the stripe can be used when it gets there. Then make whatever moves you can only in the bottom, to avoid exploding the top accidently.
Very tricky level, and good luck to all.

Cat said...

Sorry, just found out first post right after all. Two keys left, and choc ball/stripe combo matching one of center colors wiped out everything, locks and all. Lost anyway, but...

Anonymous said...

Exactly what Cat said. I learned after a few attempts to make vertical striped candies on the bottom half, get rid of candies on the top half to bring them down, drop them on the conveyer, then set it up so I can use them on the keys. Donut sprinkle cookie balls help too when getting rid of keys, but you can't always count on getting them. It's funny I played this level a few times with a coconut booster I got on the wheel, nothing. Then I figured out its trick and got it fairly quickly!

Anonymous said...

This level wasn't any fun. I did get through it with help from a free-spin sprinkle, a free-spin coconut wheel, and one lolly hammer. I had the last two cherries stacked together, and I used the lolly to smash the candy I the middle row underneath it. Good that stupid level is behind me.

Charlotte said...

Another challenging but fun level. Whoever designed this is smart! The top layer makes the bottom layer shuffle which can help to make vertical stripes. Try not to overload the board with verticles since it may set off all the other ones. Once you've unlocked the keys try to get the ingrediants in the middle. If you can match fruit underneath then perfect, but otherwise sprinkles or verticles will do the job to get the ingredients into the portals.

Anonymous said...

Certainly not my favorite but I was prepared for the worst. This is a tricky level, you must take your time and scan the entire board before making moves. I played 3 or 4 times before I got the hang of it. It was painful to waste sprinkles on a key, but that was my key to have more moves getting the cherries. Used one lollipop for last move. Tough level but sure beats bombs.

Bill. said...

Coconut wheel very useful. Completed on PC combinations seem more plentiful cleared all keys quickly then need luck with vertical striped candy to get the fruit down.

c/candycrush here

Not an easy level but quite enjoyable.

The keys are hard to hit. You don't necessarily need to get them all but you do need some in order to clear a pathway for the cherries.

The trick is to make vertical stripes and drop them onto the conveyor belt so they will eventually be positioned over a key and can be detonated. Easier said than done as they often detonate too early or else can't be detonated when you need them.

Then you just have to get the fruit over the exits and out.

* I did get the occasional colour ball. Mine tended to detonate before I wanted them to so I learnt to use them asap to detonate a jelly the same colour as whatever key I needed to clear.

* If you get frustrated, a coconut wheel works incredibly well BUT it takes the fun out of it. I used one out of curiosity and the keys were all released in a couple of moves and wiped out soon after that as at this level, the system sends you wheel after wheel after wheel. I was sorry I used it, but it is one booster that will get you through.

Actually got this 1st try..had 1 cherry left and used a hammer to drop the cherry down...must admit, must have gotten very lucky after reading all these comments!!!

Challenging level but overall fun for a change. Took a lot of tries but finally got it with multiple stripes to help take out the keys then to drop the ingredients. Only 1 star, no boosters on iPad.

Another frustrating level. Please tell me how to get to the keys! I cannot seem to unlock more than one of them.

I'm sure I'll be stuck on this one for a while...

Anonymous said...

Ugh! Very frustrating level if you can't get a lucky board.

Anon lafy said...

What a very frustrating level. It took a number of lives to 'get' what was needed, after which I have struggled to make vertical stripes in the right places, but finally I got a sprinkle to hit the candy under the last fruit so I did it with one move to go. One star, but that doesn't matter.

I found sprinkles the most useful 'tool' in this level. Coconut wheels didn't help at all.

Crushed said...

Really?
Once again a board that requires more luck than skill. 20+ tries and have yet to unlock more than 3 keys.
Sure is nice to have that perfect board like the one in the video.

Deborah said...

I was able to beat this. I unlocked enough keys to get one portal open. All three fruit were on the conveyor belt. Then, as each one arrived at the open portal, I used one of my hammers (from the daily booster wheel). Finished with just 1 star but this level is done!

Anonymous said...

Coconut wheel and sprinkle are your best friends on this level to unlock the keys, then some strategy to get the fruit through. Good Luck

Anonymous said...

As if it's not hard enough to unlock the keys, then you have to make stripes and makes sure the fruit is over the exits? C'Mon! This is hard!

Anonymous said...

Baahaahaabaa... :( can't do it.

Anonymous said...

I can't do it either!

Anonymous said...

:(~ sticking my tongue out at you, cc king.

Anonymous said...

Absurd level....I give up!

Anonymous said...

Gettin seriously frustrated! So boring! Guess cc isn't getting my money anymore

Anonymous said...

How the he'll do you get the ingredients and stripes over the exits before you run out of moves?! I'm tired of trying!

Anonymous said...

Thank you!

Anonymous said...

Me too!

Anonymous said...

I am NEVER going to get this one. Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

JSN: Maybe the toughest level to date. First time I thought about giving CC a break for a while. Finally got it, and without using any boosters.

Easy level got it 1st try with 10 moves to spare

Stupid level, unless you read the tips you may spend a looong time trying to even figure out how this works. I have had many attempts & cannot get the centre 3 unlocked at all. I am soooo over this level that it may be time for a long break :(

Anonymous said...

I have had a gutful of this level. Very few striped or wrapped or even sprinkles to be made. How can you possibly clear the keys if you cannot make moves to do so????? Another of those silly "wait till you get a lucky board" ones shown by some folks being able to get it first time...others still stuck!!! Sick of it, time for a break!!!

Unknown said...

I got through fairly easily using lollipops to break the keys and also to break the candy at the exit when I had ingredients lined up. Hope that helps.

Unknown said...

I finally made it; only one star but don't care. Easily the hardest one yet for I couldn't figure out what to do!! If it weren't for this blog, would have been lost. Only tip is to keep moving the top ones down until you get a stripe and then move back up. Evil level; so glad it's behind me.

Anonymous said...

I have read the comments; played the game several times and used a couple of boosters. I still do not understand how to unlock the keys...I get only one. Please help!!

GC said...

Well I thought after two days of trying I would be on this one for ages, as it is very tricky. I agree it is all to do with a lucky board. I had this but again I still had to use a couple of hand switches, as my last fruit was on the drop down and I had no moves to pass it through. The final move was a hammer on the candy below to enable the fruit to fall down. Phew!
It's not easy making stripes but if you play on the bottom half to try and make them, as well as playing on the top half, which will also move the lower halve's stripe to the top, that way, hopefully, you will have a better chance of lining up three candies for the stripe to hit a key. Sparkles are also handy to hit the key of the same colour candy.
No doubt a lot of you will already know this, but just thought I would mention it anyway.
Good luck everyone.

This is NOT a luck level. It is a skill level. I took three days. No boosters, no extra time, no nothing.
WHY IT IS A SKILL LEVEL: As you try you progress. First cannot get the keys. Then get them w/ 20-25 movies to go. Then get 1 crop, then a few games later, get two drops.... finally get three drops.

Luck levels you don't progress- you just hit an easy board. IN the beginning, even w/ two or three won chocolates, I would only get three keys. Then learned to burn a bomb on ANY key. Because the keys are dropped consecutively, there is NO reason to try to match them w/ a strip- if you can cash it n on a key, do it immediately. Focus on the task at hand. One key at a time, then one drop at a time. DO NOT worry about the placement of the drops til you have the keys and at least one booster available.
Look for all the keys w/ about 20 moves to go, or better. If you don't have the keys by move 19, just quit. You don't have a chance.

Had to come over and get some idea as to how this level works... It would have taken me forever to figure it out and then to beat it... I think I have a chance now...
As always I ❤️ the posters tips :)

Anonymous said...

Extremely frustrating level. Get all the keys and you still have to get verticles to bring down the ingredients with verticles or color bombs.
Are you kidding King. Bye guys. This level is no fun. Why make a game so tough!!!

Anonymous said...

I agree...no fun

I hate this level, boring, hard, impossible and it is now time to remove candy crush from FBook. I have watched sever
al wins, but have never had a combination of breaking keys plus bing able to put the cherries into the outflow. Hate Hate hate. This game has always been "good board" dependent, but still fun. No more fun!

I can’t do this it’s impossible
I need help
Too many keys to collect & not enough moves to make stripes
Conveyor belt is disorienting
It’s making me lose my mind
I thought we were back to some fun levels for a short while , but clearly I was wrong

Alessandra said...

Hmm still not getting this
Ingredient levels on conveyor belts are the ABSOLUTE worst
EVIL STUFF
Surprised they didn’t throw a few bombs in for good measure

THIS IS NOT DOABLE
ARE YOU TRYING TO DRIVE AWAY CUSTOMERS WITH THIS GARBAGE ??

Gloria said...

A very stressful level. I found using a Sprinkle with the same color of the key very helpful along with vertical stripes to unlock the keys. Once the keys are unlocked and the ingredients are on the conveyors wait for them to be above the exits and then use a hammer right below in order for the ingredient to fall. I appreciate all the comments so far. I hope this helps

I understand what I'm supposed to do, but understanding and actually being able to do it are two different things. By the time I manage to get one path cleared (if I do at all), I'm out of turns. This is awful.
