Candy Crush Saga level 917

Hints and tips for level 917 Candy Crush Saga
You only have to collect one ingredient to pass level 917 Candy Crush Saga, but to collect it you have to clear the four popcorns out of the way. The fruit moves along through each of the teleports from left to right but stays in the top part of the board.
Stripes and stripe/wrap combos will grow the popcorns and once you have 2 colour bombs you can switch them together to grow al the remaining ones by one hit.
I'm not a fan of switching 2 colour bombs as it doesn't give many points, but on level 917 it is often needed just to clear the colour bombs out of the way for the fruit to fall.

Is anybody having trouble with 917this is my second hiccup. First time game should have been completed as I had 3 coloured bombs left on top but fruit just disappeared. Second one I needed 1 more booster to win. When I tried to purchase same it refused eventhough my credit payments were in order. Then I emailed King re same and lo and behold it refused to send. HELP King you can be so frustrating sometimes.

I also had 3 coloured bombs next to each other in the top section but my fruit disappeared out of sight.... Still struggling with this level....

Same as above, fruit went out last column, disappeared and never got credit.

This is an EXCELLENT level to use your coconut wheels on!

Anonymous said...

seemed easy, 1st try, no boosters. coco wheel would help if stuck

Anonymous said...

Not that bad a level. Used the advice and 1 coconut wheel later all done

Anonymous said...

I had the same problem with the fruit disappearing twice, both times when I switched two color bombs together.

Anonymous said...

Yep, me too. Twice today the cherry disappeared when the color bombs blew up. King needs to fix this problem along with many other glitches in other levels, I'm getting a lot of error messages as well. These are error messages from King not my computer.

One of the MOST frustrating and boring levels EVER for me! Incredibly dependent upon getting a lucky board which I finally got right now. Coconut wheel (free daily booster) did not help me nor did other free boosters I tried last week. Finally won with no boosters and persistence for probably two weeks, maybe slightly longer! Surely 920 is not nearly as wretched! I figure developers throw in a demonic level like this one just to slow us down as they can't develop new levels quickly enough to meet advanced player needs.

My fruit also disappeared when I matched 2 color bombs. Need to fix this. Will send King an email. Don't know if this will help.

I just passed this. I used the coconut wheel booster and it definitely helped. I did not experience any glitches, passed 3 stars with 3 moves left. I am playing on iPhone 6. Good luck to everyone.

Coconut wheel a definite plus for this level. Made the mistake of leaving a chocolate ball on the far right column. When the cherry landed on top of it, I had to use the hammer to smash it. Made lots of stripe/wrap combos. Big help there rather than chocolate/stripe combo. Actually a ,fun level. No glitches here either. Playing on iPad.

Passed after only a few tries using no boosters and got three stars. Was prepared to use coconut wheels if necessary but didn't need to luckily. Got a good board and a few choc balls down the bottom which I combined with stripes to grow popcorn. In the end I had the fruit in the right column with a choc ball blocking it and was able to mix two stripes together to free the fruit.

Anonymous said...

Got this after about 6 tries. No boosters, just careful playing. No glitches or troubles with game either. Mixed 2 chocolate balls together, no problem

Wrapped/striped combos are good to hit 2 popcorns in one move. Combining color sprinkles is helpful. First attempt, I had one move left, sprinkle blocking the last exit, vertical stripe pointing at the sprinkle, so I used a freebie lollipop hammer on the stripe.

I'm having sooooooo much trouble with this level!!!!! Just can't seem to get the vertical stripes aligned with the popcorn, soooooo frustrating!!!! Could this be a warning sign for me to call it quits with CC?...

Leslie said...

I obviously wasn't paying attention to the video or the hints, because I didn't see the exit row to the right! Took me 3 games to realize this. Maybe I ought to quit till my fever goes away :(

Anonymous said...

I'm not getting this one even with coconut wheels. Had a big stash of them, but my supply is dwindling. I have had a similar board to the one on the video, but not with
the same result. . A chocoball combined with a stripe resulted in every single vertical stripe shooting straight up between the columns. Grrr! Early on I got down to the last move with the fruit sitting on top of a popcorn in exit row. One more hit and I would have been done does anyone know if a hammer would have gotten rid of it? Guess I should have given it a try. JS

Anoniem said...

Very difficult level......how can someone say this us easy?
Mixed 2 chocolate balls, but no result.....grrrrrrrr

FrankC said...

FrankC here. This was brutal! Man o man. Hardest part BY FAR was aligning the stripes to hatch the popcorn, among other things. But 8th attempt managed a 2 star score and glad to move on!

Jane said...

Frank,
I like "hatching" the popcorn. 😊 I am going to give it a try.

Cat said...

Haha at the word hatch Frank! Love it!

Anonymous said...

This has to be the worst level ever. Stripes go between popcorn balls and every time i get a stripe/wrap combo,it only hits one popcorn. Getting so frustrated!

Anonymous said...

Not easy but also not very hard..Got it on 7th try & used coconut wheel after several close attempts..Focused on creating wraps & bombs & matching with stripes...Worked well & every time 2 bombs together would set them off until last corn hit open & ingredient dropped...3 stars...daily spin coconut wheel..Doable level with some focused planning on creating wraps & bombs & then using them for special combos with stripes...Stay with it

Wow all you people who found this easy must be playing some other game! I haven't broken the left popcorn even once. In fact I've barely broken any of them. I'm not sure I've even hit the left popcorn! I tried a coconut wheel that did nothing except send stripes between the rows. In fact most of my vertical stripes miss the rows entirely. Only once have I got a sprinkle ball in the bottom and it was of little use. I can believe anyone is ever able to get 2 sprinkle balls together in the top let alone more than once. I wonder what I'm doing wrong. Posting for luck.

Anonymous said...

OMG I just decided what the hell. I used a coconut wheel. It put it under the cherry! WTF, Also a stripe/wrap booster. It put the stripe in the top. Woohoo. Also I used a sprinkle ball booster. It put it in the lower right corner where it is next to useless. Thanks a bunch King. I want my boosters back!

Anonymous said...

JanC here. Well 1st time Ive had a 1st try 3 star, used a coconut booster as many advised smartly. So thank you everyone. Was extremely easy with the wheel just lining them up with the popcorn and its just a matter of time. Nice break... Good luck everyone.

THIS IS THE WORST LEVEL EVER!!!!! Must have played over 100 games. Wrapped and stripes combo only hit one popcorn. I get more horizontal than vertical stripes. When I do get a vertical, it always goes between popcorns. Color bomb and stripe hit everything but the popcorn. Coconut wheel failed more than 6 times. Used all 3 boosters several times with no luck. I am out of ideas of how to pass this level! :(

Anonymous said...

Given the comments I am glad I got through this with little pain. Wrap stripe combos are the best as you normally hit two popcorns and also you should be able to get two colour bombs together to provide a hit to the remaining two. I think this took me 5 goes and came within one popcorn hit on two of those. Cheers AJ

Wow i passed this level after 2 tries 3 stars and i was in shock after.
First try was a bust.
Second try i used the coconut wheel booster.
I used the coconut wheel positioning it in places where it can shoot thru 2 popcorns.
I also made lots of color bomb + color bomb combos that cleared the whole board everytime including the popcorns.
Stripes are useful here just place them in line with the popcorns. Wrapped + striped combo are useful too.
Thats it i guess. With lots of luck. If it matters, i played on iphone using it in landscape position.

Cat said...

Great job LEI, good tips too! Wtg!

Charlotte said...

3 stars, first try! Sprinkles and stripes are your friends. My ingredient got stuck on the last column above a sprinkle, so I used my switch booster.

Anonymous said...

Same here, my cherry just disappeared when combining two color bombs. I had all popcorns cleared well in advance but there was no cherry anymore. It helps to try and combine wrapped and stripes between two lines of popcorn. That way you get two in one hit.

seems impossible. If only I had a coconut wheel. UGH

Jane said...

Dont you play the daily spin hun?

Jane said...

This is not me. Why all of the trolls. I. Would never use the term hun

Have a feeling JanC changed her MO

Anonymous said...

Why do you still care? Obsessed much?

Anonymous said...

c/candycrush here
3 stars, no boosters but it took me days, I didn't find it overly easy.

The fruit doesn't really come down anywhere, it just travels through the top sections so you need to clear all the popcorn.
* stripe/wrap works well
* a vertical stripe on its own works well (although you'll never get through relying on single stripes all the way).
* A colour ball/wrap, pretty useless
* Colour ball/stripe-not always as magic as I expected, often shot up between popcorn or went sideways.
* Colour ball/colour ball. Excellent if you are near the end.

It's just one of those levels where you need to plug away, the right board will come.

30+ tries and have yet to bust open more than two popcorns. 2/3rds or more of my stripes are in wrong direction or shoot up between the popcorns. Used up 5 coconut wheels, one was put up above the popcorn, WTF?!?!?!
Putting 2 color bombs together was a wasted move.
Once again waiting on the lucky board.

Am I alone or are others tired of that same person saying they got it on first try with 3 stars on pretty much every level???

Crushed said...

Hmmmmm
Very next board after my post was the lucky board, 3 color bombs next to stripes.

This is level 181 upright but harder. Insanely Hard not just somewhat hard as wiki suggests. I used free gold bars from the green candy challenge for extra moves to get past this awful horrible level!

Anonymous said...

Finally got through this, no boosters, after about a week and at least 30 attempts. Had good game going, then two choco balls next to each other to really move things along. Somehow finished with 18 moves remaining!

Anonymous said...

I have passed this level twice. The first time, it locked up and didn't give me credit for it. The second time, the cherry disappeared after matching 2 color bombs, still no credit for passing. This is getting quite frustrating.

Anonymous said...

Striking out with this level so far on all 3 devices. Coconut wheel has not helped much as each time it's only shown up on the initial board, and then in a location that only helps with one upper row. The middle rows are definitely easier to manage since you have more candies to use from all directions. So far I have managed to get everything except the last popcorn (far right row) and twice that has been flashing, only needing one more hit. The only good news here is that since so few levels allow use of coconut wheels I have a decent stockpile, but that will rapidly deplete if they don't start helping more soon. This level definitely requires a good degree of skill, but unfortunately luck is a bigger factor.

I have been working on this level constantly over 5 days. My main strategy was trying to make a vertical stripe under the popcorns. Then eventually I decided to just make as many stripes as possible. Then switching the stripes together. Hey Bingo!!!! Perfect. Thanks goodness for that.

Use coconut wheel booster. Boom!

Bill. said...

Coconut wheel very useful. Need to clear all four popcorn. Switching two chocolate bombs together also helped. Very clever design quite enjoyable.

Anonymous said...

I had 2 speckled candy in top section. When I combined them they threw the fruit to the bottom section where there is no outlet. I have found coconut wheel useful.

Anonymous said...

Same thing just happened to me with the fruit disappearing after I switched two color bombs. A few moves later it reappeared on the bottom portion of the board. I still have 9 moves left, but the cherry is sitting at the bottom with nowhere to go. :-(

Anonymous said...

This level sure is challenging...not even getting close!

Anonymous said...

I surrender!

Anonymous said...

Sure wish I would get the same board as shown in the above demo...

Anonymous said...

JSN: I had a very difficult time with this level. I had tried starting with coconut wheels, but wasn't getting much for them. Finally just kept playing until I got sufficiently lucky.

Anonymous said...

It simply doesn't work! There is no other way then to combine at least two colourbombs, but as soon as you do so, the fruit disappears. If you continue playing it will re-appear in the lower section where it is stuck forever. (no way out) I will have to accept the inevitable and removed the game.

Anonymous said...

I have this level several times with two colored balls played even then it is impossible not fun anymore

Anonymous said...

Passed three stars no boosters, but probably about 20 trys. got three separate speckle ball combos that did it for me. the fruit stayed on top and didn't fall to the bottom when I set off the speckle ball combos, one of the combos was in the rightmost top column.

Anonymous said...

Definitely a time to use one of your free coconut wheels. If it's not in the right place, go out of the game and reset it until you can get two pop corns with your first roll. The wheels appear a few times and for me it got me through this level. Thanks to all who post genuine tips on this site x

Anonymous said...

This really stinks. I am getting more disgusted with each game ! May be my last!

Anonymous said...

Impossible level! Stripes are all horizontal and when you get a vertical it shoots between and misses the popcorn. Been on this level for weeks. Read all the comments here but can't make any headway! Ugh!

I love this blog site, such useful advice given but this is the first time I have posted. I have encountered so many bugs and glitches recently and informed King of these only they have not even bothered to reply. Very quick to take money but not so quick to sort out problems.

I think this level is unbelievably hard. The frustration is HIGH and my bp is about to join it.
