Candy Crush Saga Level 1238

Hints and tips for level 1238 Candy Crush Saga
The biggest problem with level 1238 is the chocolate, you need to keep it under control or it will block the top and prevent new candies from falling.
Look carefully at the candies moving around the conveyor to see if you can make combos.
You may be able to keep the chocolate from spreading for a few moves by working in the outside columns to begin with so the licorice blocks the chocolate machine, but this won't be for long as the licorice dissolves easily.
I used a jelly fish booster to make the video, but have since completed it without boosters so it is possible.

I find very difficult to clear jelly under the cream in the middle, especially the top. After about 20 attempts, usually finish with 3 or 4 jelly. Hammer boosters would make for an easy finish.

Just another boring, no choice in moves level. No strategy, can't do anything but take the one crap move you get each turn.

This has to be one of the most boring levels ever. No point in using boosters as you are forced to use them early on when they do the least good. YAWN!

Sad to admit I used a fish & color bomb to start AND needed 7 hammers to finish. Could see after many attempts this just wasn't going to happen. Guess that's what all the free candy drop boosters are for, right??

I beat this in about 8th tries without using any boosters on my iPhone. Not bragging. Just wanted to let players know that it is possible. I guess I got a lucky board. I was able to make several special candies (no chocoballs) and that was enough.

Boring, so used all three boosters on second game. Lucky to have a wrap drop next to another, which cleared enough...

Good luck.

Read all the comments and decided I didn't want to do this more than once. Tough to make specials. Started with a colour bomb which I had to waste, then used 2 hand switches and 3 hammers to finish. One star only. Hopefully they get easier....lol. Doubtful, but one can dream. Good luck everyone!

A fish booster + a lucky board did the trick. The fish kept reappearing & took out hard to reach places. Worth a try!

This is one of those levels where fun goes to die. Boosters not much help so just waiting on a lucky board (or a nerf)

All I've been able to do unsuccessfully is chase chocolates. All it takes is a couple chocolates blocking moves and it is game over. Several games I've been unable to keep chocolates from blocking one side.

Yet another level requiring luck to move on.

Got the close enough lucky board. Used fish boosters and 6 swaps to get thru this one. Didn't have any fun on this level.

I have to laugh. Since level 1227 I've gotten no more than one star per game. You know what? I don't even care anymore. All I want is to pass to the next game. I'm a "D" student!!! LOL

Who is designing these obnoxious levels? Fire him! What a boring, frustrating, unenjoyable level this is. HORRIBLE!!!

I actually found this one a lot easier than 1235. A fish booster helped to clear the jelly at the top middle which is so hard to get.

l also found this one easier than 1235. I also used a fish booster and it was only my 2nd attempt

I used a fish booster and cleared the board with 13 moves left. Actually got 2 stars...

This level was impossible on my computer and on my phone. I read the posts here and used my ipad with a free lucky candy booster. Cleared it the first time!

I started with a fish booster and finished with one move to spare. Half way through I used a hand switch to make a sprinkle/ stripe combo. One star, but do they matter? Not to me.

All out of boosters (again). Nothing more fun than spending an afternoon watching one side of the board being eaten by chocolate, and having absolutely no moves on that side. All the while being given useless move after useless move on the other side. Smartest darn chocolate I ever saw.

Getting ready to quit for the day and the "Lucky board" showed up. No boosters, one star. I'll take it!

Another boring trip to Candy Crush land. Where are the fun rides??? Again---NOT buying boosters Mr. King! Lucky board please and thanks!

Very tedious chocolate every time. Finally completed on Pc with two chocolate bombs.

No enjoyment with so few choices in moves. Chocolate dominates and just when you get a few moves, it takes it away. I love cc, but this is not a challenge, there is no place to go.

Another horrid choc level. No chances of making combos, no chance of passing. Quit button may be quit this game permanent. There is not much fun when you just push candy around with your fingers crossed hoping that CC has decided you may pass on this turn. Better things to do with my life :)

This is a toughie!! Am taking on board all suggestions here, thank you for taking the time to post them. I will persevere!

Got it on the second try using only a worthless fish booster. I wish I knew when you only get one fish at the start (worthless) versus several appearing at the end (game winner)

If you have a wrap/stripe booster available, it'll drop the licorice blockers to the bottom giving more working space to keep the choc under control, and allow specials to form, had 4 colour bombs after that! One hammer to clear.

I QUIT!

I've tried with and without boosters to no avail. I got a sparkle and a wrap and stripe but wasn't able to put any of them together, mostly because one or the other would explode by themselves. But I managed to keep the chocolate and liquorice under control until I had about three jellies left. When I ran out of moves I only had one jelly to go. So I caved in and used 9 gold bars for 5 extra moves. Needless to say 4 of the moves didn't do anything. So I had no choice but to use a lollipop. I didn't want to take a chance that the last move would get me three matches. Only one star but glad to move on.

Good luck everyone.

I hate those colour changing candies, they make my eyes go funny and give me a headache.

Anonymous said...

Update on headache: Its much worse and I can now see flashing candies even when I close my eyes . Please give me a decent board cc, before I lose the plot completely.

I selected all three boosters. The c-bomb and stripe-wrap pair at the beginning were the only ones of those that I got. The c-bomb was useless. I got one fish at the beginning then three more in quick order with 5-10 moves left.
I followed the advice to use a stripe-wrap to take out the candies below and clear the top half of licorice. This allowed me to attack the jelly immediately but had two negatives. First the chocolate was unleashed. Second the bottom was filled with licorice, which basically took half the board out of the game. I couldn't use it to make combos and licorice going round and round on the conveyor doesn't produce many casual combos. Pick your poison, I guess.
The chocolate is very aggressive. It relentlessly pursues two goals, nullify any combos in-the-making you're hoping to use on it and cut off the inflow of new candy. You can hammer an opening in the chocolate barrier. Rather than having the new candies pour straight in through the opening, I found they were more likely to produce random combinations that widened the opening if they took a more zig-zag route.

Terrible level. No choice in moves. Wasted boosters forced to use them early when they do least amount of good. Waiting for lucky board. Hope it doesn't take forever.

After several times I managed to beat this with no boosters, 13 moves left and 3 stars. Just kept the chocolate under control and made the best moves that I could. Good luck to all of you out there!
