Candy Crush Saga Level 1289

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1289 Candy Crush Saga without boosters
This level is all about clearing licorice. That is all you have to do. Easy! Not!
You will have to start on the right and make every move count, hit some licorice! As soon as you can make moves on the left go there and start clearing licorice, make combos whenever possible. Wrapped candies are especially good for clearing licorice and if you can switch 2 together better still.
Once you have candies in the right side start working there to get the fruit down, any combo will do or simply matches of 3 if nothing better is available. Keep checking the whole board in case the stripe you need is there and you don't want to miss it.

Ridiculous... No chance at all. I need at least 20 more moves.
I'm afraid I'm gonna be stuck here a long time-:(

No luck from the Netherlands this time!

I posted this on the 1200-1300 page before this level was here:
I'm on level 1289 and have not completed it yet, but I can see that you need to have the ingredients drop down so they are in the left hand row going down. Not so easy as you may not have a move that let's you do that. If you can get it to drop onto the next row going down you should be able to move it left without much difficulty. The ingredients will drop from the left hand side of the board and move over to the right hand side of the board where they will exit. As you create combos or horizontal stripes you will eliminate only the first licorice each time, so the left hand row (on the right side of the screen) will clear first. So far, I haven't been able to clear any rows of licorice except the left hand one. This would make more sense if I could draw a diagram, but it will make sense after you've played a few times. The key is to get the ingredients to drop all the way to the left. Note: I finally got through this level when, on my last move, I matched two sprinkle balls and the ingredients all exited.

Passed on my third attempt. Tried working right side of board as suggested but no opportunities. However, I was able to make quite a few wrapped/striped combos on left side and fruit kept dropping down. Got two color bombs next to each other and that totally cleared the board with over 10 moves left. 3 stars. Definitely try to get color bombs (also called sprinkle balls by previous commenter). That's the way to go IF possible!

I started on the left and concentrated on making colour bombs to align to each other and then setting them off. Did it in first try. Not that bad afterall.

Two chocolate bombs next to each other are the secret to this level.

Hated this level. Must have played it at least 40 times. Had no luck using stripes or stripe/wraps. Kept trying to get chocolate sprinkles but could only get one at a time. Finally got two not next to each other and just as I was going to use a hand switch I noticed the possibility of another one. Made it and it dropped right on top of another one. Just like the advice above it cleared both sides of board and all the cherries dropped.
Don't give up. Two chocolate sprinkles swapped is definitely the answer to this one.

Thank you! I'd been trying coconut wheels from my booster collection but they didn't clear enough liquorish. I got one chocolate sprinkle and used a hand switch to get another next to it, then all the liquorish went.

Wow ridiculous level. Key as posted earlier is to have cherries far left column (used hand switches) combos to move them down and over to right side. Last few moves still blocked by licorice, hammered a few of those, ingredients out the exit. Don't think this is possible without sugar drop boosters ( really, why else are we spending time gathering them??)

For some reason this level seemed easier to me on my mobile device (Kindle) than on my computer. I couldn't even come close on my computer, but didn't even use boosters and passed on the Kindle.

I.must have had a lucky board or something. I passed this level my 1st try. Lots of combos. As others have posted...try to have the fruits fall to the left, it makes it a lot easier. And also..don't start the level unless you can clear some on the right board first. That helped

Coconut wheel + striped ended this level!

This took me many many tries. Was getting very frustrated. Using a hand switch, I was finally able to put 2 colour bombs side by side. That got rid of all the licorice and dropped 3 cherries out. One left on the left side to work over with 15 moves left. Thank goodness I managed some stripes and wraps to work the cherry over and out on the last move. So glad to be done with this one! Very very difficult. Good luck everyone!

While you wait for a board that will allow 2 colour bombs to be switched you can use this strategy:
Start working on the left side as soon as you can leaving as many candies as you can on the right side. Once you clear the left side try to have some wraps and stripes to be dropped to the right side by working with candies you left on the bottom of the right side. This will help clearing the lycorice. Not so hard to solve if you manage to preserve some candies on the right side. Good luck!

I thought I was going to be on this one for days. Every time I thought I could make a combo everything would blow up.

But after getting all the ingredients to bottom left I was able to make one combo that moved them all over and out of nowhere two color bombs fell onto the board together. It was like magic.

The only way to win this level is to use two adjacent colour bombs. Once I realized this--and read the tips here--I was able to get this on the second attempt. In addition, the early moves should be to clear as much licorice on the left side of the board as possible to free up room to make the moves to create the colour bombs. It also helps to keep the cherries on one side, and then work on the other to make the colour bombs because otherwise the cherries get in the way and are more difficult to move.

I'd second what someone else said about this must be easier on mobile devices. Passed on 1st attempt. 2 ingredients came down in far left hand column, the others were in the middle columns, but lots of chances to make stripped/wrapped combos to clear the opposite side. I guess I just got very lucky (which doesn't happen often!)

This one is worse than 1268 and 1269. Horrible level! It reminds me of 811!

My strategy was to make lame moves on left so that the board would reshuffle and I would get a move on the right. And that gave me my two color bombs.

Passed on third try no boosters. Must've been lucky. Thought this level was fun!

First try with 16 moves left (???)

I'm on mobile and cannot even come close! I haven't gotten one cherry down! I'm not sure I'll be able to continue with this. Horrible level for me!

7 hand switches and 6 hammers. Done with this stupid level!

Very fun. I just worked the left side of the board and cascades just kept happening. Got it first try no boosters and three stars. Not a hard level. LOL

Followed the advice to move the fruit to the left columns. Noticed that they dropped every fourth move so tried to make switches in the left columns on those moves. Also used a stripe + wrap booster which helped to start some cascades and was able to clear with 12 moves left. Ran out of lives on mobile so won on PC.

Got 2 sprinkles side by side which cleared the whole board and the cherries with it. Pure luck I know but it made me feel good!

Finally beat this on my phone, which seemed much easier as I was struggling on the computer for days. Got three chocolate bombs, two of them side by side. I tried the wrapped / striped combos over and over and over with no luck. My suggestion would be to work on the chocolate bombs, like everyone else has stated.

Aaaaahhhhh!!! Another impossible level. I know I will eventually get lucky, but SERIOUSLY.....

Unlike others I found this easier on Facebook/ computer. The cascades are more effective and combos easier to make. Try to get all ingredients in one column or close to each other so there's less path to clear through the licorice

I totally lucked out on this level on my first try! I got two sprinkle bombs side by side and the rest was history! ☺

I only have 2 pieces of fruit on the right hand side of the board!

Everyone says about two sprinkles. Is it that easy to make sit side by side. Impossible. Give some other tips please. King how do you get ideas to design such level. Anyway I appreciate you the genius minds behind cc saga.

Sounds like I need 2 colour balls together!! Bring 'em on!!

Hi all.

Finding this one tough. Love the people who say "all you have to do is match 2 colour bombs together". Lol. Like its so easy, especially on a board where the moves are so limited.

Kills me.

Bill. said...

Only way I could get anywhere near was to combine two chocolate bombs together getting these took a lot of attempts.

Anonymous said...

Trying to get the chocolate bombs together with no luck. I don't even get close to beating this level.

Anonymous said...

Making candy combos does nothing to clear the licorice. I'm going to take a break playing Candy Crush. So irritated!!

Anonymous said...

Oh my goodness-this NEVER happens for me! Lucky board on the first try! Two sprinkle balls fell together and BAM! Just took a few more moves to get the last cherry down!

Anonymous said...

He'll! I can't even get any candies on the right side to do anything! The combos on the left side don't even touch the licorice on the right!

Anonymous said...

It feel like a moron. The licorice just sits there, stripes don't clear it with a wrap. I must be missing something.

Anonymous said...

This just is moving so slowly. Not a fun level.

Gamergal said...

I have figured out how to move the fruit to the left so they can drop down on the right side of board, however, after playing this for 8 days now I am no closer to accomplishing this than my first stab at it. Not enough moves, and a lucky board would help. Another impossible level. I will be putting this game down for awhile. This level just isn't fun and another moronic try from King to get you to use up boosters. They just don't work on this level.

Two chocolate balls is the answer here. I'm glad I came here and read the comments before playing this level. After combining the two balls it was fun to just sit back and let the magic happen!

I got it on the first try when by chance I accidentally got two chocolate balls next to each other.

Cherries drop at 31, 27, 23, 19. I had 6 hours of endless lives and didn't even come close. Third try on laptop and I got thru using the strategy above

Thank you for the tips. After playing numerous times over two days and using the tips given, I still didn't get anywhere. Often the sparkles would detonate on their own or I would be stuck with the liquorice. Just now I made sure the cherries kept to the first two columns and if they were in the third or fourth I was lucky to get them over to the first and second, I couldn't always manage this before and if I did I was stuck and ran out of moves. My moves were running low so luckily I had 5 hammers left, I used four and on the last move I had a match of 3 candies which were next to two cherries. Phew!

Keep trying and make sure you're stocked up on hammers and handswipes, if you're lucky. Fingers crossed you will get your lucky board.

Good luck everyone.

17 Reshuffles in one game! And that was after using a color bomb to start (which was a total waste). Hey King, why don't you ask me if this level is boring? Worst level ever!

Another EXASPERATING level!!!!
