Candy Crush Saga Level 1389

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1389 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Allina Rumfelt
This level looks so much more intimidating than what it really is.  I am not saying it's easy because it isn't,   but if you look at it in terms that you only need 2,000 points AND use up 16 moves before getting eaten alive by chocolate,  it doesn't seem so bad.
If you focus on trying to blow up the spawners, you will miss the couple moves you may get in the center to keep the chocolate away once it starts to grow... and you still won't get the spawners.
A couple stripes or a good combo is all it takes to keep it away long enough for you to use your moves.  You shouldn't have any issues getting the points ...  Just focus on setting up some stripes in the center of the board and then blasting chocolate.  Use your stripes/wraps right away or the chocolate will devour it.
I very consistently got down to 2 or 3 moves left before I had death by chocolate but eventually I did get a couple stripes to get me through it.

More tips by Cookie.
I worked slightly differently from the above. I concentrated on one side of the board and did remove one of the spawners, which gave me an extra move or two before the chocolate took over. The spawner didn't seem to take as many hits as normal, but that could have been my imagination as I was so pleased to see it go!
However you play it, level 1389 will take your lives until you get a bit of practice.
The main thing is not to panic! The chocolate grows fast, but only after you make a move.

Am I missing something? I've gotten over 8,000 points with a couple of moves left and I can never pass this level. Do I have to use all 16 moves?

I was lucky to knock out the bottom spawner first which made it a bit easier to keep the center lane clear. This level was a mind blower!

I was over 2000 points but it wasn't enough?

The challenge on this level is not getting the 2000 points but using up all your moves, which you have to do to pass it. Until you get a lucky board you will fail when the chocolate takes over and there are no moves left. I was lucky enough to remove at least one of the spawners, and after that it wasn't too hard. Took me a bunch of lives, though.

A massively annoying feature (I would call it a bug, King probably thinks it's a feature) of this level is that even if you get down to 0 moves, there still has to be one more possible move on the board or you'll get that "no more switches" message again. This seems totally ridiculous and unfair, you shouldn't need to be able to make another move with no moves left, but, as we say in my neck of the woods, it is what it is.

Tin tin here. Well, wham bam thank you Mam, the whole thing is over in a flash, not even time to lie back and think of England. This is the weirdest level I have seen, and I guess there will be a lucky board sometime. In the meantime I don't spend much time on playing so that has to be a plus.

I actually thought this was kind of fun. Eats lives, sure, but you do get it eventually and it's different from anything we've ever seen. I can't think of a single booster that would help, so at least it's not one of those "we're trying to get you to buy everything" levels.

I get down to needing to make one more move and I don't have any more possible switches - every freaking time! Ridiculous. Doesn't seem to matter how big the cascades are, the chocolate grows back as if I didn't clear any. This is just dumb.

take out a spawner? cant be done. stupid advice

Anonymous said...

I'm equally frustrated. I get close and on the last move all of a sudden it's filled with chocolate except for 4 spaces. So, of course there are no more possible moves. Sucks!!

ok i have gotten over 2000 pts 3 times and keeps saying i didnt get enough points. whats wrong? grrrt.

Anonymous said...

Getting the points is the easy part. Using up all 16 moves is the hard part.

If you get enough points but then don't do all 16 turns, you're out of luck.

Did it on my third try.

This is just a purely 'depend on your luck' level! it's so so ridiculous and no fun at all! if King let you pass, give you a good board, then you will; otherwise just pray and wait!

Horrible level!!!

Anonymous said...

Got it first time. Just made the 2000pts.

Well, I took a page from Tin Tin's book and had myself a little lie-down. When I arose, with thoughts of England on my mind, I passed it. Only 1 star, but I passed the bloody thing and I'm happy!

First try I got down to no moves left but didn't pass b/c I didn't have a valid move with no moves left. How lame-tarded! (Have to agree with the post above about this crap!) Haven't gotten close since. Lame-tarded level!

Anonymous said...

I was able to do this the way Cookie did by taking out one of the spawners to make more room. It was still very close though and a very timely wrapped candy save me.

Always on mobile. 1st try and had over 2,000 pts with a few moves left. Kept wondering why the games still hadn't ended. Luckily, I managed to finish all 16 moves before the chocolate completely took over, what with me not even realising the intricacy of a moves level. Could have lost it but lol didn't!

Anonymous said...

Not sure how but passed this on my first try, no boosters. The only stripe I got was the second to last move and by then I had chocolate almost all the way to the top. Made one last three candy match on the very last move and got 2260 points, one star.

One of the stupidest levels. After a few unsuccessful attempts boosterless, tried three times with resetting so the choc ball was next to the stripe. Total waste. Took another few annoying boosterless tries, always resetting for a wrap, which did the trick. Glad to be done.

If you take out the bottom spinner like someone here already suggested (or any spinner for that matter) then there'll be more room to play with. I used strategy taking out the bottom to also create more cascades. I was able to beat it without any boosters too. Keep playing, you'll definitely beat it! Good luck!

Anonymous said...

You have to use all of your 16 moves even if you've reached 2000 pts

Anonymous said...

Hey we got this far! Challenging a d different than other level! I just love this blog! Lol I gonna keep trying. ! Tough one

Anonymous said...

Lol! Just posted here and got it the next try! Concentrate on bottom of board! If you think this was tough wait til 1392! This would look easy! But fun level!!! Good luck

This sucks!!!!!
It freezes the timing on moves...sliws you down so you cannot make moves to stay ahead ...
How the hell can anyone pass this crap...just bullcrap...

On iPhone availability to make move at zero moves left not required.

Ok got the hang of this. Have to use all 16 moves. I started with a colour bomb. Made as many specials as I could and tried to keep the chocolate at bay. Managed to take out the bottom spawner which left me room to remove chocolate at the sides so I could use all 16 moves. Very different. Took me 4 tries and got 3 stars surprisingly. Good luck everyone!

If King is listening, there have been a few levels where you have to score X number of points and use up all the moves (I am not sure which ones but this is certainly one), it would be good and helpful if the instructions at the beginning actually said 'score 2000 points and use all 16 moves.'

Anonymous said...

I had 2300 points - they never said anything about having to use all 16 moves. They should tell you that before you start. CC stinks! Grace from DU

Anonymous said...

I had over 3000 points and zero moves (used all 16 moves) yet it would not let me pass. What's wrong with this game? Grace from DU

This level is bugged on iPhone. I made a stripe candy and had 1 move left. "Sugar Crush" popped up and ignited my stripe candy. With 1 move left I still had an available switch.

Definitely gonna need to get lucky with this level until King fixes it.

Anonymous said...

Ha ha this level is just a joke! Gotta laugh or I'm gonna cry! This chocolate is impossible. Crossing fingers for a lucky board.

Bling59 said...

Must buy a lottery ticket. Second try. Done. Must have just been lucky.

Bill. said...

You need to get both points and complete all the moves. Just keep at the chocolate third attempt.

Joosy said...

Yes you do have to use all your moves and make the 2000 points. I actually find this level quite fun. Don't know why.

Anonymous said...

pathetic level - second try, two stars + all moves used, then while im on 0 moves says FAIL cos no more moves left - MORONS, of course there were none left, i'd used them all. that 'extra' move they want on 0 is ridiculous, should've just gave us one move less and pass when we hit 0

Anonymous said...

Second time i've ever complained about a level (above and one other) and both times passed very next go, lol sod's law

Tamijay said...

I just won by getting 2100 points - with 6 moves still left. Not complaining, but maybe they've changed something?

Passed with 3 stars on third try by taking the tip of trying to play on one side. I admit it take luck to have moves on one side, but given that..... if you can make enough moves on one side not only will you keep the chocolate at bay but you may blow up one evil spawner. That's a huge help. That's all I've got :)

Anonymous said...

Me to first try 9000 and used all moves Wth!

Anonymous said...

I can't begin to tell u what a stupid level this is.....I have had on average 3500 points, but because I haven't used up all of my moves, I don't pass it.....ridiculous!!!

Anonymous said...

c/candycrush here

Forget the points. This level pivots around being able to stay alive long enough to use all the moves.
Certain amount of luck needed. If you can make moves that clear some of the chocolate, any chocolate, as well as come up with a special candy of any description to use immediately, you'll have enough working space to last the distance.

I never made any combos but did get one stripe.
Tip: Don't bother with the colour ball booster, it didn't help me one iota.
Medium hard level but fairly boring.

Okay so I patiently play this game waiting for the lucky board. After several tries, I finally get a decent board and easily get 11K points and the very last move zero I put 3 purple candies together at the top of the board, clearly winning the game. Well I didn't get the big win congratulating me on my win. Instead I get "Oh No" I failed to use all my moves. What gives King???!!!!

Anonymous said...

really no fun, totally controlled by cc how many chocolate they want to end with.

smarty buzz said...

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr grrrrrrrrrrr stupid, horrible, hard, ridiculous level !!!!!!!! I hate it!!

Anonymous said...

Have been on this level for days and finally got down to 0 and the board disappeared and left facebook altogether had to log in again and start again still havnt done it am so angry

Anonymous said...

Interesting level - I got my 2,000 points and used my 16 points but didn't pass it.

Anonymous said...

Terrible, terrible level. Hate this kind of games

Anonymous said...

Horrible level. At least you can't waste a lot of time on it with 5 lives! It's over almost before it begins. Hoping for a lucky board.

Anonymous said...

I hate chocolate at the best of times but cc have outdone themselves with this shocker, it may well be the end of me playing this game as the fun part of it is now gone for Good!

Anonymous said...

This is a ridiculous level, not even given proper requirements for the win at the beginning. just learned from comments you have to use all 16 moves as well as get 2,000, Those chocolates just eat up the board, no chance to use all moves.... I guess not until CC decides to give me a good luck board.
This just might be the end for me. Boring and frustrating it is.

Unknown said...

Yes it's possible to take out a spawner. It's hard to take them out, though. I'm still trying to figure out what exactly kills them.

MissyM said...

Playing on PC, without using any Booster, I have absolutely no idea what happened. I was able to kill the bottom center spawner. I mostly was only able to make 3 candy matches. The 3 Stars was reached before I got to my last moves. This was on my first try, and like I said, I have no idea what happened.

Aaaaarrrrggghhhh

Bottom line - SUCKS

AlvaroGerardo said...

Have you tried a 357 Magnum?

AlvaroGerardo said...

Haven't tried this level yet, but according to the comments above and the tips, it will be fun for me. I just won a contest, so I have six hours of lives. Won't use boosters unless I absolutely have to.

AlvaroGerardo said...

Ok, just finished this dumb level. It took me ten minutes, no strategy, just dumb luck. I don't see how anyone can get through this level on one try, unless they use many boosters. On to 1390.

anonymous said...

Just try to stay ahead of the chocolate. Keep counting moves. Just stay alive till the zero. Agreed, this level is painful—but can be licked.

Unknown said...

They have to be directly hit. Even with just a 3 match. But it seems to take 5-6 hits no matter what.

Anonymous said...

What's with the hyper active chocolate?

Gonzo said...

Me too ,don't understand

Unknown said...

It keeps saying beat this level in 16 moves but keeps giving me 22 moves! Endless tries with 22 moves...WTH?

Anonymous said...

7500 points & chocolate ate the board!! This is offensive!!
