Candy Crush Saga Level 1409

Best hints and tips showing how to pass level 1409 Candy Crush Saga without boosters.
Classified as a hard level by King you can expect to lose a few lives before you manage to pass level 1409.
If you are good at timed levels you probably won't have too much trouble with level 1409, but I am very poor at them as I tend to play quite slowly and like to think about my moves.
You have 1 minute to get 61,000 points. There are some mystery candies and extra time candies in the bottom part of the board which you can use by collecting the keys in the top part. You need a bit of luck with the mystery candies as they can turn into chocolate and eat your extra time candies!
Even though this is a timed level you still need to look at the board for colour bombs and other special candies. Try not to use all the extra time candies at once as the time never goes above a minute so it may be better to save some if you can.
Colour bombs will get you the points so look for them before every move, they are not hard to make as there are few colours on the board.
If you are struggling with level 1409 try using a colour bomb booster at the start and use it to collect at least one of the keys at the top.

Got this one on the second try and I'm terrible at timed levels...I just freeze. Once the bottom opened up I had no problem...almost got 3 stars.

I'm having a rotten time with this one... Common King it's Christmas for goodness sake... give us a break:) Merry Christmas everyone!

I'm able to open up the bottom, but I can't seem to get 60,000 points. If I didn't know better, I'd say it was impossible. Ugh!

This is the pits! My computer is acting sluggish when I play this level. I have to click everything two or three times to get it to respond. UGH!!!

I can't believe I passed this level. Had a terrible board and when the clock counted down I only had 11,000 odd points. By the time sugar crush was finished, I had 105,000 and three stars. I had the entire bottom section open, but had not made more than one move down there.

I agree w/ the other poster: You have to click things 2 or 3 times to get them to move, which is a total time killer on the clock. Things just don't move like on every other level.

Can't believe I passed on first try- never happens!! Had not nearly enough points but I had also opened the bottom and when everything exploded I had more than enough. Good luck- I think having the bottom open is clearly the key!

Passed on 2nd try. Unable to get the keys 1st try. I got 76,000 points when the time ran out so Candy Crush didn't activate, only one star. Same on mobile you have to swipe moves two or three times before it responds.

Always on mobile. Followed strategy of MsCookie. Got it 1st try, no booster, 200,000+ pts, 3 stars. Actually at one stage I was wondering why the game still hadn't ended with over 100,000 pts and 52 secs still on the clock(added time through time candies). Went slow thereafter. Apparently the game needs to be timed out. Lucky board undoubtedly.

Hard level and timed level is not fun especially when the internet connection is via satellite! Passed it on my 10th try at 61000.

I am useless at timed levels also! I tend to panic. First try, not even close! Second try, took the advice above and started with a colour bomb and cleared a key which formed another colour bomb which I was able to match with a stripe, which cleared all the keys. Plugged on making specials when I could and ended up with 77K. Happy to be moving on. Good luck everyone!

This level is much easier on your mobile phone than on the computer. In the computer version, extra time candies do not appear on the top half of the board, even though it does on the mobile version. Failed it six times on the computer, passed it in one go on the mobile version!

Got this on the first try.. Didn't look at the time but just went on playing as any other level.. no panicking.. just finished cooly!

Easy level

I hate timed levels too, and failed abysmally three times. Then I used a sprinkle which hit one key. Not much use when you need both lones open at the bottom! The second time with a sprinkle, I was lucky as two keys were blue and a I could hit them. After that I gained a lot of +5s and passed with three stars!!!!! Thank goodness that's done.

2nd try 1 star....I'm okay with that.
Took a chocolate ball in....

I don't normally like times levels and maybe I also got a lucky board but finished first time with 3 stars. Had enough points with 60 seconds left on the clock. Was probably lucky getting vertical stripes early to hit keys and open up the bottom and then color bomb to pick up a lot of extra time.

As someone else said, this is much much easier on the phone version. I kept failing the computer version over and over and over, but got it first try on my phone. The phone version gives you extra time candies up top, but the computer version does not.

I was lucky - got it the third time around. I normally hate timed levels so I am very pleased. Grace from DU

First attempt on the phone. Normally I find these difficult but chocolate bombs kept forming by themselves.

I past this once then it said I didn't. Had to waste life's to beat it again. There is also a lag or delay when I try to make moves on my iPhone. This only happens on the timed levels. CC doesn't play fair! Hard enough without this stuff.

I had been playing this level on my PC, but after reading the comments that there were additional-time candies on the mobile phones, I switched platforms. I started with a candy ball to ensure I could collect at least one key. And even though I didn't get very many points while playing, by the time the game had added up all my bonus points I had collected enough points to pass the level on my second try.

Having to click every candy twice, before it will move, is reallllly annoying! It's also a major time waster. This is not a fun level for a 78 year old with major arthritis issues.

I have always noticed that my cursor/mouse slows down in the moves on timed levels. Just wondered if anyone else did? Sucks! Oh and I love when my special candies explode on their own before I can even move them together and make the play I was setting them up for.

I just came back to say when your game ends let the candies play out and don't click the "end game" button. I didn't have near enough, a little over 10k points, but the candy action at the end of the game gave me well over the 60k mark and I finished the level. Actually I just sat here in frustration letting the game play out on it's own and got the needed points to win the game. Did I mention I hate timed levels and usually the only way I win them is the candy action at the end of the game.

I used the tips and started with a booster color bomb and used it to get one of the keys. Whenever I got a color bomb (only once after the starter) I used it to get a key. Otherwise I concentrated on making specials and NOT detonating those specials. They will auto detonate during candy crush and get you points then so don't waste time trying to detonate them during the game. Just make as many specials as you can, especially packets.

Usually have no luck on timed levels. Got a lucky board the first time

I hate timed levels and this one is no exception. I freeze like a rabbit caught in headlights. Help.

Timed levels takes a certain amount of patience. I know I won't be able to pass on one try, so I just take a deep breath and try to relax. This one took me by surprise as I didn't come in here to do my homework to watch the video and read the tips and comments. You live and you learn. By the time I realized it was a timed level, ten seconds had already gone by, so I was behind the eight ball from the beginning. It took me four tries, saw a possible color bomb and got it. That took care of the keys, from there wraps started to come out of nowhere. I do like timed levels because, well, they're fun, and you know deep down inside you'll beat it eventually. On to the super hard level 1410, I won't forget to do my homework this time.

This one definitely depends on the board you get. After numerous attempts not coming close, I finally get a board that allows me to play lots of special candies on the bottom part of it and end with 3 stars, no boosters. My tablet keys also lags on timed levels. I have to strike them a couple of times to make the move.

my game has no timer. No +5's drop. and no bombs. I am playing on facebook.

This is not timed any more. It is 35 moves to get 60,000 points. So no 5+ candies. Hard to get enough points on this one.

I start with 2 boosters - the chocolate bomb and the stripe/wrap and I STILL can't even get close to 60K!!
