Candy Crush Saga Level 2179 Cookies tips and video

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 2179 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Collect 32 licorice and 28 cream blockers in 30 moves to complete level 2179 Candy Crush Saga.
All the cream blockers are on the board but only 16 licorice, but more licorice will drop from the dispensers as you clear it.
The secret of clearing level 2179 is to destroy the cake bombs. Each time you clear a cake bomb it will clear all the licorice, so clearing the two will give you all your orders whether you cleared any before or not.
However, BEWARE, try not to clear both cakes at the same time! Very often if you do this no more licorice will fall after the first cake is detonated so there will be no licorice for the second cake to clear. The licorice may only fall when you make a move after the first cake has detonated.
You may be lucky and get more licorice, but I played many games where no licorice fell after the first cake detonated although the video does actually show the licorice falling straight away this is not the norm.
Video below.

  1. Took two hammers... one to finish each cake. Pretty easy if you don't mind a little hammering.

  4. Wait a minute. The written part says do NOT clear both cake bombs at the same time or no more licorice will fall after the first cake is detonated so there will be no licorice for the second cake to clear.

    However

The video shows both cakes being cleared at the same time, more licorice falling after the first bomb clears and the player completing the level.

    What am I missing please

    1. I cleared both cakes at the same time.... More licorice fell.. But do you think I can make moves to clear the licorice ?.. No.... beyond aggravated ...

    2. I cleared both the cakes on my last move. While first cake explosion cleared all licories on board, no licorie fell thereafter to finish the game.

    3. Am totally with you on this. Also I have managed to clear the cake bombs separately but it takes 2 or 3 moves to replenish. It's impossible. Ggrrrr!

  5. Used 2 hammers (not at the same time) to finish off the cake bombs. Worked well!

  6. Glitchy level on my iPhone.

I hit a couple of licorice in the course of clearing the cake bombs. They had replenished by the time I cleared the cake bombs, so when I did that my total should have gone down to 14, but it was 16.

Because I cleared both at once, I thought I'd lose the game, but then managed to align 2 of the sprinkle cake ball things. By that point the licorice was fully reset. It was supposed to clear the entire board, including 16 licorice, so the game should have been done. However, when it all settled it said I still had 2 licorice left.

I was so annoyed with the board I ended up using a hand switch to line up a striped to take out the final 2 licorice.

In short the game made me clear 36 instead of 32. It seems they assumed you'd win on 2 different cake bombs and didn't bother to check and make sure the other ways were working right.

Unfortunately, that's not how it works. What it does is clear each square, one by one, in a pattern from left to right, top to bottom. As a square is cleared, if an item can fall down into the opened square, it will, so that item doesn't get cleared. This is frequently an issue with licorice.

  12. With a restricted board and mystery eggs, you basically know what you are in for - a Lucky Board level

  13. Haven't done it yet but I understand the strategy. If you clear both cakes at once, you never have enough moves to collect the remaining 16 liquorice which only drop after a couple of 'blank' moves after clearing with a cake. So you clear one cake and that gets you 16 liquorice, you wait for the next lot of liquorice to drop and only then do you clear the second cake and thus get all the liquorice you need. So now it's a question of putting it into practice...! HF

  14. two tries on this, paying attention and actually enjoying it, (playing on FB) and it went smoothly. Stripe/wrap combo and a few stripes cleared the cakes at the same time. ample licorice fell after first clearing so that I could get the needed orders.

  15. OMG, worst level EVER!! I honestly don't think it can get any worse !

I've played 55 times and can't even get close. I understand the concept, just not getting an agreeable board that accommodates making combos. Another ucky board level I guess. Unbearable and boring as hell !

  17. First three goes couldn't stop both cakes blowing up at the same time. Next time didn't even get one cake. Fifth time blew one cake then a five count bomb dropped over the remaining cake, which only needed one more hit, so used a hammer.

  18. Video says not to clear cakes at same time but they do just that.

  22. Not liking this level at all. Need a lucky board.

  23. Can't believe this level isn't listed as a hard level. I'm struggling with this.

  24. Hard part is making sure you only blow one cake at a time. This clears half the licorice order. More licorice will fall but difficult to clear so hope to have enuff moves left to clear remaining cake and more licirice will have conme and will clear with cake blast.

  26. Wondering why I am having so much difficulty with this level. I have 25 moves, not 30.

  27. Not sure if possible with 25 moves and not 30. Ready to call this quits. Boring and no fun.

  28. Played about 10 times before finishing with 5 moves spare. No boosters. Essential as far as I can tell that you clear 1 cake then wait for the liquorice to reappear then pop the other. Job done.

  29. I pad has only 25 moves not 30. Please correct..

  37. If you understand and follow Cookie and others tips, it is easy. I didn't get the cake strategy right away so I lost quite a few times. Then I started out with a color bomb to open things up a bit. Then I kept working on the cakes. Try to remove one cake which with remove all the licorice available. It then takes another few moves for the licorice to regenerate. Then destroy the 2nd cake which will eliminate the rest of the licorice. If you have a few hammers to strategically hit the last piece of cake at the right time, it is easy. if you are still really having a hard time, wait until the helmets are offered and wait to the play this level or any other level you find hard. That was going to,be my next strategy. Starting out with the helmet is such an advantage.
