Hints and tips showing how to pass level 2960 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
This is a tricky level due to the constant dropping of licorice on the right side of the board.
Candies will drop into the right side of the board through the portals, but only into the two top and bottom rows, and if you make matches in the right side of the board you will not get candies filling the empty spaces except through the portals, so it's easy to end up with quite a few empty squares with jelly in them.
The best way to clear the licorice and get candies into the jelly on the right is to clear the licorice once it is in the left side of the board, this way you will get candies dropping to where you need them.
However you are still going to need to clear the jelly in the right side, so whatever you do you will end up with jelly squares without candies at some stage.
Make special candies and combos in the left side and let them drop down to the comveyors and them through to the right side, where they can be used to clear jelly and licorice.
Good combos are double wraps and stripe/wraps.
A double colourbomb combo will also be helpful, but beware the licorice returning very quickly.

In 2960, you have to start with a CB combo to have a chance of completing it. The CB combo will clear the licorice on the right side covering the double jellies. The hardest to clear are the jellies on the top right because it will take a while before candies cover the top part. In the meantime, licorice will cover them intermittently. You might need a second CB combo to clear the licorice and jellies on the top part on the right. A fish here will help although it may not be enough.
Anonymous of 10 December 2017 at 21:14 asked me why Cookie is not up to date with the posts. Although the new episode and levels become available both to her and to us at the same time, Cookie is behind in her posts because she has to complete a level first WITHOUT the use of any boosters, then posts the video of the recorded play. That is very hard to do. That is why her postings are days or week behind. I don't know how many times she has to play a level to pass it that way, but in our case, we breeze through the levels with the help of Magic or Space Dash and use boosters to complete them, which enable us to get ahead of her posts.
Candy Crush Saga looks simple but it is officially a difficult game, according to a study by a University of New South Wales professor and Toby Walsh from NICTA, Australia's Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Research Centre of Excellence. It belongs to the NP-hard class of math problems, one of the most difficult groups of problems to find solutions for. It is its inherent difficulty that makes it addictive. Some crushers (Gil, Sharon, KK, Carol the elder, PH, & Carlton to name a few) have a knack for solving Candy Crush that is why they are in the forefront, but for the others who find it a struggle, don’t despair because Candy Crush is INDEED hard.

Gotten close a couple of times. Haven't beat it yet. I don't seem to get the helmet or dash thing so starting with a double color bomb doesn't work for me. Posting for luck!
One nasty level, 2956 (reduced to 45 sec), took me 4 tries.
All the other levels were fairly easy.
Needed 2 tries on level 2958.
All the other 13 levels on first go.

Overall a good episode for me. This last level used a Space Dash chocolate sprinkle combo and a fish booster. Finished 1st try with six moves left and three stars. Finished every level 1st try this time with a 2.6 average. I keep a running total of my boosters and after today's treat calender and a few won with sugar drops I was ahead two boosters but was down eight gold bars. Til next Wednesday good luck!

You CAN do this without starting with a double color bomb. I just did. Took a while, and a lucky board, but yes, totally doable.
The next episode, levels 2961 to 2975 is easier than this episode. There is no timed level. I passed all the levels on the 1st try except 2970 (2 tries) which I believe is the hardest level in the episode.
In 2970, I was not able to complete it with a CB combo. The licorice in marmalade surrounding the cherries are stubborn. So on the 2nd try I reset until I have a CB/wrapped combo while the bombs below the cherries are of the same color as the wrapped. The bombs turned into wrapped and their explosions cleared most of the licorice and the board. That did it and I was able to pass the level.
I am honored to be named with the crushers who have helped me reach this level! Sharon’s tip to use the fish was a help, but I still had to use a hammer to get the last jelly. I also started with the double sprinkle combo. It sounds like the next episode will be something to look forward to. See y’all next Wednesday.
Rick, I just saw that Bear with me posted on Dec 13 in comments back on level 2945. He is not able to get Cookie’s blog or any comments for this episode and is wondering why. I wouldn’t have any clue, but maybe you have an idea for him?
Interesting. I have neither knack nor patience, so I use Space Dash religiously and boosters when that's not enough, as on this level.

Are you are referring to the posts for the next episode (levels 2946 to 2960 in that case)? Cookie is behind days or week in her posts because she has to complete a level first without boosters, then posts the video of the recorded play. That takes time to do. For instance, her post on level 2960 was made only on the very morning of Wednesday, Dec. 13.
Does anyone have any tips for level 2963? I am really struggling with that one. There just don't seem to be enough moves to get all the icing and I can't find any tips for levels that far ahead.
I want to add, any tips that don't include using space dash because I don't get that booster on any devices that I play on.
Maybe you just have to update. My devices update automatically and I've had either Dash or Space since the beginning.
Sounds strange that you don't have the space dash. I have it (and Morts Helmets) on my old phone, which can't even update anymore (the levels stop at 2840).
I recommend you use a checkmarkbooster for 2963, because then if you're lucky you'll get enough icing before you clear the icing that block the nasty bombs (with a countdown of only 3 moves).

I got tired of hearing everyone chortling about their Space Dash and Helmets, so I completely uninstalled Candy Crush from my phone and tablet, and reinstalled. Still don't have it. Not only that, I don't have the ability to send friends lives, either. I'm on Android, and have a fairly new phone and tablet.
Oh, and for this level, I started with a CB and stripe/wrap, along with a coconut wheel (all hard earned with sugar drops), and no problem.

All of my devices are updated as well and I've never received the space dash. There are a lot of people who don't get it, but I guess there aren't as many who have made it this far without it and that's why everyone is surprised when someone says they don't get it. I don't know why Candy Crush is unfair to some of us. I did eventually pass level 2963 so thank you to the people who offered suggestions.
I left a message for Bear with me on level 2945 regarding problems getting into this blog. I also had problems for the whole episode on Dec.13. I finally entered Candy Crush 3000 and then got the list of levels 2901 - 3000.

The game is stupid!! Its failing, not taking the jelly when it should!! Super annoying!!!
Can't beat this level no luck.
Does anyone have any tips for 2972? I don't even come close. If I wait for the chocolate to fill up the side and top column/row, there are only a couple of moves left to get all the licorice and yellows, but if I (accidentally) take some out, the chocolate doesn't fill in to get enough. What's the trick?

The Christmas stockings instead of the Space Dash are a fun change and CC has brought back the opportunity to collect red candy and earn boosters. Level 2641 is a good one to use for that. This must be the worst level ever, played for a week and nowhere near despite all the tips. HELP

This has been changed, since I played it. Still very difficult, but not as bad as before, when twice as much licorice fell (the right side would fill completely).
Hello all, Happy Christmas and all the best for 2018. I have always posted as "anon", but have followed this web site and all the names mentioned above by Rick, Gil Carol the Elder and Lucia etc..and commented from time to time. I have had periods of frustration and delight but always known that if some one else has done it so can I. I have never spent a single penny on it ( yes I am a Brit!)). But used boosters on the way. Ricks comments and references on the 13th December sum the whole thing up. Let's face it we are all clever idiots with too much time on our hands! Have a great 2018 - Sassie from UK

Fish boosters can be very helpful, or very frustrating. I needed one jelly cleared at the top right and for the last 10 moves not one fish came out until it was too late---then 3 did. Finally, they (the fish) were nice to me and helped me clear out the last couple jellies on another screen.
I used the chocolate sprinkle ball and the fish booster to finally pass this level.
I have no sugar candy and my crocodile has stopped eating blue, or whatever, candies. Please remedying

What kind of hell have I stumbled into. I am at a loss. No matter what I do, I cannot get this completed. It is almost like it will let you get just so far and then, boom, it stops you just as fast. I need some real luck to get past this one. I need a lucky board to stop my my place as soon as possible.
What happend to the players? Comments 2017 and 2018, are they finished the game, are they dead, or are they fed up?

I'd rate it extremely hard.
For me, the hardest bit was those 2 top right hand rows. They are usually just empty double jelly once you get going.
My advice (such as it is) is that it is relatively easy to clear the left hand side & to make special candies. Harder to get the candies together for a combo but if it comes down to a choice of moves, go for those that will clear the RHS more and let the left take care of itself.
I did use a fish booster & one lollipop hammer to clear the last (clear) jelly.
Let the licorice and candies stack up on the top right side of the board. This way you will be able to clear the jelly squares at the top right side. If you clear the licorice, the candy will just keep dropping down and you'll have to wait for stripes or wraps.
You do realise this is a HELP page. Not a place to post your holiday plans. SHEESH!
No help here, just long winded crap. Hard level but shouldn’t be.

When a player gets through 247 levels in 1 week, yea, that's breezing through. With that being said, I can only play on my android phone, because I don't have a PC right now. I don't get the same advantages as PC users. It's not a hard game when a player uses space helmets, and sets up double cb moves, and has hundreds of boosters at their disposal. I didn't get to level 2960 by riding on the coattails of boosters. Sure, I use them when I get them, but they are few and far in between. I don't rely on them to 'breeze' through levels.

And yet another "lets just give a ridiculously small number of moves to clear an enormous number of jellies" level. Made worse by the fact that with only 10 moves each try is over in a few minutes so you're out of lives in about 10 minutes.
Just adding this is an absolutely mind numbingly boring level especially if you have no boosters :(
