A new blocker is introduced at level 5991, the sugar coat. The sugar coat encases other candies and can be removed either by matching sugar coated candies together or hitting them with special candies and combos. They can be one, two or three layers thick and can be moved to make matches. The sugar coats can cover all the different candies as well as ingredients and waffles. This may expand in the future to include other blockers but at the time of writing only movable candies and blockers can be sugar coated.
You can't switch a colourbomb that is encased in a sugar coat with an uncoated candy, it has to be cleared first. But you can switch it with a sugar coated candy and you can make special candies using sugar coated candies whether all the candies are sugar coated or not.

Making matches beside sugar coated candies does not affect them.
