King is trying to squeeze out from us the last of our boosters by making the levels harder and harder. At the same time, Kings has removed the main source of our boosters: the sugar drops. Although not applicable to everybody, the Fantastic Five and The Daily Win are also gone for me. Although we still have the Booster Wheel, The Treat Calendar, and the Air Delivery, we very rarely get the two most important boosters: the lollipop and hammer. If not for the Chocolate Box, I would be in a very bad shape. Before, I can play as many Chocolate Box any time and win as many as 16 sets of booster (I average about 8) for every completion of it with the “trick” I discovered which King has fixed, now the “quests” are limited to 4 a day. I used to have over 1600 hammers (thanks to the Chocolate Box), now I am down to 1100. I still have over 1700 color bombs and 1500 stripe/wraps, but bow I have only 2 hands left. Reaching level 7000 give each of the boosters, (UFO, party popper, etc.) which helps a little bit. Anyway, I have 626 gold bars which I can use to buy any booster if necessary.
RE my comment above, I meant the two most important boosters are the lollipop (hammer) and hand. Sorry for the mistake.
Gosh! I got dizzy from your rattling off those numbers. Most of us can only wish we had that many boosters. I just hang on with what I have and tell myself “it is only a game”! My complaint comes with losing boosters to win boosters - like with the telephone tier, etc.
This is how I cleared 7,100, lucky board with twice cb/wrap and still had to use 3 hammers! Crazy level. I gave up after 2 or 3 tries each time and stayed away till now.
Sleepless you did better than me.... I had to use FIVE hammers.... I tried really hard to do it without boosters as I do every level... but it is getting to be ridiculous with so many levels requiring a bucketful of hammers... So. I started to do Wordscape... not very far along... but at least it's different. OC
7100 has been changed- now less bubblegum and a little easier.

With the loss of the Daily Win (stickers) and the old BOT, I'm deliberately using less boosters than before. My booster stash is actually growing, slowly, but growing. Telephone Tier has ended up being useful.
The game really isn't that much fun anymore. Certainly the new level type, Rainbow Falls will be interesting for a little while but eventually that will get boring after a few weeks.
What would be nice is if King provided a level editor for the players and the ability to share user-created levels. It wouldn't replace the main game and levels but would be a different world like DreamWorld. Just a thought ...

First episode done. In 7002 focus on getting the licorice. Out of the 3 that's what's difficult to get enough of. 7003 is difficult. Licorice wrapped in pink bows. Needs lots and lots of combos. 7004-7015 are surprisingly easy. I still have the daily win and fab 5, but not the chocolate box or air delivery.
Second episode done. Again pretty easy, but I did luck out a few times with the cb from the space race and the one from the BOT being next to each other. In 7123 and 7130 DON'T waste moves on the fish. They are completely useless and avoid blockers and bombs like the plague. New feature not that exciting. It's really just about clearing blockers and other obstacles like knots and swirls.
7145 done. Easiest week for a long long time, so maybe you should hurry up and get it done, before they make it harder. Only used a few boosters apart from the ones from the space race and the new BOT. Wheels where available and then just a checkmark for 7102 and 7144 and a hammer for 7136 where I struggled to get both the cakes and enough waffles. Also difficult to get the waffles in 7144. I've used almost all my stored lives because I wanted to get the most out of the cb from the space race now that the BOT only gives one cb. Good luck to the few who are left :-).
Yep agree very easy up till now I'm on second one in second episode. The new feature is boring and I predict will only pose big problems later on. Not impressed. So... no hurry for me any more. I suspect it will be harder when I return later today too because it seems they have given us lots of tries for the first episode. OC

MG trust me you are missing NOTHING.... just the same old tedious stuff. The new Rainbow Falls are simply another way for them to make the game difficult. I was on a roll early this morning.... after I stopped playing it got difficult.... not really trying very hard to do much.... hard to let go after so long of playing... but I am slowly letting go. It happened to me after playing Gardens of Time for years. I thought I would never quit that game, but I never play it now. The only reason I play CC is because i haven't found a good alternative. However, I now no longer look forward to Wednesday.... so perhaps I really will stop playing soon. OC

King has "fixed" Telephone Tier challenge in the latest cycle. Previously if you lost a level you would not only have to successfully complete the level you just lost but also the one previously one. So if you passed level 3 but lost level 4 you would have to successfully replay both level 3 and level 4 to advance to level 5.
Now, if you lose a level, you start back at level 1. Kind of like the way the booster bot now works. Of course, the solution is to use more of your boosters so that you don't lose any levels. So I'll go ahead and use say 6 hand switches (1 for each level) for the potential of winning 2....
7144 is tough, it now has 3 more moves but the final 10 waffles are still hard to get- they don't start dropping until you clear the first 90. 'Til Wednesday :)

Difficult first episode. As mg I found 7147 difficult. Not easy to clear the bottom left. 7148 is really bad. Jellies in difficult to reach positions and covered in waffles and wrapped in pink ribbons. Yikes.
Agree with mg and ditte. Wasted 1 hammer on 7147 before lucky board and another hammer cleared it after several tries. One attempt at 7148 and I am done for the day as I don’t want to waste time attempting thus crazy level.
yes, difficult week. Most of the levels taking multiple tries. Stuck at 7154 as I refuse to use flying saucer. I'll probably give up soon :P
Done. 3rd episode not so bad, but I did check all available boosters for each level, so my stash is diminishing quickly. I got 7154 with the checkmark and a hand.

7154 is awful, only got through with a very lucky board and 15 extra moves! 7155 is looking worse, might be here a while :(
Struggling at every level. For the first time in many years since I started playing, this is the first time I'm not enjoying it. It has always been addictive with the urge to play one more level. Since yesterday it felt more like an ordeal. I was frustrated and fed up with endless tries requiring multiple boosters. Thanks to King for ruining a very enjoyable game. Due to all the recent changes it is also taking more of my time which I dont like. I've decided to call it quits. Hope I can stick to my decision. Wish me luck please.

DM, understand what your going thru. Like you I am trying not to be addicted. I played 7148 eight times over 1-1/2 day and finally had to use a UFO to clear. I try to give up if unsuccessful after 3 tries. Will miss you and if I give up will also visit here to catch up. LOL.
DM I feel for you too. You are right where I am,,,, hoping to quit! However, sadly, that has not quite happened yet... but nearly:) I am so frustrated with the game. I passed 54 with 5 extra moves and a hammer after millions of tries.... Sleepless I don't know how you only give them 3 or 4?????? LOL Then went on to 55 and am stuck again. It is a horrible level and I've already wasted 2 handswitches. The chocolate box glitch doesn't seem to work with FaceBook any more ... so no extra hammers that way, and I haven't tried my other way of getting boosters because it's tedious. However, if you don't know a "work around" for boosters they have successfully taken away all our tricks. Go luck DM on your new adventures... let us know if you find a new game, and keep checking in. Sleepless you show up as a "Ghost" on my game. I thought you had quit. Glad you are still there playing tag with me. I will be lagging though because this game is really lacking luster! OC
Thanks sleepless and OC. I never knew how to 'work around' for boosters. With the changes in bot and didi and daily sticker gone, there isn't much left really to work for. They also changed my friends yesterday who helped me in completing the score. So yes, its really over hopefully. Haven't played in more than 24 hours :P
For now I'm not looking for any new games, want to catch up with some reading.
Though there is Machington Mansion which my niece used to play. Thats interesting.
Still trying to finish the first episode. I am currently on 7159.
7155 was made easier earlier today by removing 2 layers on both sides. I had been stuck there for two days!
7146 and 7153 are the only levels I passed on first try.
As with the rest of you, I am wondering why I still play. There is no way to earn boosters on a daily basis and most levels require boosters or waiting for that 'lucky board.' TEDIOUS! Happy Crushing;p
Hi mg. It's not because CCS has become outrageously fun as time goes on. The reason why so many folks still play Candy Crush is because they have invested so much time and sometimes money that they feel they can't stop now. It's known as the sunk cost fallacy. Back at level 4600 or so, I swore that at level 5000 I would stop. Now 2500 levels later or so, still playing ...
It's the same principle at work when folks play slot machines and can't stop. There's a number of really good articles out there that explain how the sunk cost fallacy works especially applied to online games.
Ralph, I pulled info on sunk cost fallacy. Interesting! I very much understand the concept from both a business and personal application. I had just never heard the phrase, or considered applying the concept to gaming. I dealt with this mentality many times when I went in to 'fix' failing contract programs. It is also a barrier for those pursuing a more minimalistic lifestyle. (Overcoming hoarding) It is hard for individuals to purge items when they have invested large sums of time or money into their possessions. I see where this fully applies to gaming!
Part of my challenge is loyalty to the game (cc) that I used extensively when rehabbing from brain damage. Gaming was highly recommended by the rehab group to use the rest of my life to keep my brain functioning as well as possible. CC checkmarked both the logic and timed challenges at that time. It may be time to cut ties.

mg, thanks! I never thought about sunk cost as applied to hoarding but you're absolutely right! That does make sense.
There are a few fun/surprising levels that pop up on CCS every now and then but generally it seems to be more like work than fun. Now if they let us design our own levels and share them. that would be a bit more fun.
7165 needed a UFO to clear. After 2 days on and off play wasted a hand and a hammer before clearing with a UFO. Stuck at 7166. Gave up after 1 try as looks as difficult !!! Seems every level is difficult.
Today, I will get the boosters from Dexter. However, I cannot benefit from the boosters because I am stuck at level 7100 until Wednesday. Only people who play in Windows 10 benefit. There ought to be a way for mobile users to move to more levels so that they can benefit from Dexter. I am far behind those who post comments. I can never post comments because I am behind. Help!
Wait until Wednesday to claim the prize then. I do that so I can use it for the new levels. I don't understand the comment about only Windows 10 users benefit from Dexter? We also have to wait for new levels.
I tried once waiting to Wed. to claim the prize. By Tuesday, Dexter was gone. I think Cc releases more levels at a time in Win. 10. Well, whatever! I am spending less time with the game now with all the changes. I am reading more novels, and that is good. I do appreciate the tips you all leave behind. For some of the levels, I would not have been successful. Thanks for all your tips!
