Candy Crush Saga Level 1490

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1490 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Allina Rumfelt..
So we only have 30 moves to collect 15 chocolates, 25 blockers and 35 licorice.  It's so odd saying this, but fortunately you have a chocolate spinner and 5 licorice dispensers up top so those ingredients are pretty much given to you.  Don't waste any lives trying to get chocolate, start hitting the licorice every chance you get. The hardest  part will be getting all the blockers.   You have to break your way through all the licorice on the bottom to reach the portals that will fill the right side up with candies.  Once you can do that, with only 4 colors,  cascades are nice and making special candies and combos are easier, which you will need considering you are probably  low on moves by the time you make it over there.
Top tip.... Break through to the right side in as few moves as possible.

You say: Don't waste any lives trying to get chocolate. But thats my problem I have never enough chocolate!! The rest is no problem.

This one was fun. Got it on the 2nd try! At least we had a chance with this one!

Denise said...

Hmmm...I also got all the licorice and blockers but not enough chocolate before running out of moves. Need to watch!

Anonymous said...

Fun level. Once the right side is open, try to make moves so chocolates on the left side can build up. Once you have 3-4 chocolates, it's time to destroy them which will probably happen using just one move. Did it on my 2nd try.

Funny...I can't get enough licorice.

WTF, I have used a lot of gold bars and boosters to complete android episode 100 in 3 hours.

can never get enough licorice on IOS version?

Anonymous said...

Not enough licorice for me to clear when i have 5 or 6 moves left. After finish all my moves, not enough appear. The rest can get.

anonymous37 said...

Same as above...several times had 8-9 moves left and needed about 6 licorice. Was left needing one twice, and two several times. Plenty of cascades and not one licorice to be found.

Anonymous said...

I have no problem with the chocolate and blockers. I can't get enough licorice. I get big cascades and not a single licorice appears.

Anonymous said...

This is your comment at the end of every episode. TIRING!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Yup same on android cant get licorice..frustrating

Anonymous said...

Finally beat this level. Just mansged to get blockers with enough moves left to slowly get one licorice at a time getting last one on my last move. Good luck all!

Anonymous said...

Similar problem with liquorice playing on iPad. The only way I could get them was by just getting matches at the top. If I got cascades there weren't any liquorice. I eliminated the bottom rows of black ASAP & then got the icing, then worked really slowly at the top left and got chocolate and the last liquorice on my last go.

Must be a glitch in this level?? Not enough licorice.

Anonymous said...

Definetly a problem with the iPad version. Licorice does not come down with many moves left. Lots of cascades but no licorice. Need to fix these bugs.

Anonymous said...

I posted this morning but for some reason some of my posts are being removed.
I finally made it on Android after many, many tries. Lucky board I guess but I managed to clear the blockers with lots of moves left. Then, the only way I got enough licorice was to make single moves at the top of the board getting only one licorice at a time. Vertical stripes didn't produce any at all. Finished on my last move. Good luck.

This was probably the hardest episode in a long time with several extremely hard levels with the evil spawner and the negative order levels. Oh well see everybody next Wednesday

Anonymous said...

This whole episode was a total KING SCREWUP. Trying to remember if this just started after it was sold and they hired a lot of new incompetent employees. Whichever way it happened it is a total Screwup.
Hopefully, the new levels we get next Wednesday will not be so frustrating.

Patty Turner said...

I agree, so many things have changed since it was sold it's ridiculous!!

Anonymous said...

Definitely easier on the PC. Never got enough licorice on the iPad. So glad this episode is over.

Anonymous said...

Giving up on the IPad. Numerous tries and even with 10 moves left to get licorice it never drops. I'm going to the PC version.

Anonymous said...

Just posted above. Got it my first try on the PC, three stars.

Anonymous said...

I wish I had read this first. Have tried 60 times and always 2 or 3 liquorice short on both my iPad and android phone.

It's crazy ...the rest is easy. One time I had 11 moves left but no liquorice ever appeared.

Come on king.

Get your act together....

Maggimacpool said...

Same comment as a lot of the others. I clear everything except licorice with moves to spare but then might get just one or 2 licorice in 5 moves. Annoying ,getting overtaken by people. Doing this on android BTW.

Dexter said...

On Android I was always short on licorice.
Took it to the PC and got it on my 2nd try.

Conny said...

Same as Dexter, on PC version you get enough licorice. Got it first try, after many tries on Android.

Anonymous said...

On iPad I wasn't getting enough licorice either. I had to "coax" the licorice by making small matches and avoiding cascades. Then I completed the level.

K. Walters said...

Grrrr.. On IPHONE I don't get enough licorice and on PC I don't get enough chocolate. Very frustrating

Anonymous said...

Playing on android. Played about 30 times and not once had enough licorice to complete the game. Stupid end to a stupid episode.

Anonymous said...

There are currently 3 bugged level on android - 1475, 1486 & 1490. Wow...

Anonymous said...

Always on mobile. Got this 2nd try, just be patient to let the choc grow first. Overall this episode is payback time by King. Must have heard some of our comments that the previous 2 episodes were too soft. By my reckoning more than half the levels in this episode are difficult, some very difficult, almost impossible, the previous level 1489 being the pits. Spent more days and boosters on this episode than any other. Congrats King, your reputation is infamously enhanced through this episode!

Anonymous said...

Finally beat it on android without using booster. It's hard, but still better than 1488.

Anonymous said...

King finally put the correct version with all the red candies (same as pc) on 1486 if anyone wants to go back and play it. Much easier than level 1488 that we all had to play twice.

Anonymous said...

See they now have a UFO booster option to buy for 20 gold bars. When did this start?

laura said...

Once you have made cascades on the right keep making big cascades there. It is the only way you'll get the needed licorice to fall on the left

Anonymous said...

Tried that but it never worked for me.

Anonymous said...

A very annoying level. Playing on Android, never enough licorice and playing on the computer, never enough chocolate. On Android, licorice only comes out when making three-candy moves, and without using or making a combo, and then I have to hope that the licorice will be taken out in the ensuing cascade so no move is wasted. I have found that to have any success in this level, you have to open up the locked chocolate as quickly as possible. Early in the game, try to break through the licorice at the bottom of the board as quickly as possible and then use three-candy moves on the right side to clear the cream and get the licorice to fall. Chocolate can be ignored on Android, and licorice can be ignored on the computer, because the cascades tend to handle that. Using a wrapped candy to clear the locked chocolate early in the game is a good approach. None of this has helped me get the level yet, but I have gotten close. Maybe on Windows Phone...

Anonymous said...

...Yeay, Windows Phone worked! Got it on the third try, getting lots of chocolate and licorice, but hard to predict how the licorice falls. A colour bomb/colour bomb combo certainly helped clearing scattered licorice and then on the last move, a three-candy combo took out the last two licorice. Finally done with this nasty episode. Another tip, a horizontal stripe aligned with the locked chocolate early in the attempt helps too.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Sharon. Just comforting to know you are around to alert King through your emails on any anomaly.

Anonymous said...

I had problems with not enough licorice as well and then I noticed that they keep falling with every move until you don't break one licorice. Then none will fall on the next move. Basically the same as with chocolate.

Anonymous said...

Look the whole thing with this level is King wants you to buy extra moves. You just don't have enough licorice on a mobile device unless you do. You can get down to 2 or 3 left. No matter how you try to play. I had 9 gold bars saved up to get extra moves. Other boosters don't help.

Anonymous said...

Bllody nuisance! I passed this after many, many tries last week. Now the new episode is out and the game hasn't moved me on. So I have to pass this again.

Anonymous said...

So ridiculous, at least 10 times I cleared all cream, & chocolate, just needed to clear 5 licorice with at least 7-8 moves left and no licorice fell..... Finally got fed up and bought 5 extra moves! Surprise...... The licorice appeared!! Very sneaky King, Very sneaky!!

Anonymous said...

Just passed this level on iPad after several tries. I noticed that for this particicular level, cascade and special combo do not cause licorice to fall but making moves on the rows above the chocolate dispenser do.

Anonymous said...

Could never get enough licorice on iphone. Tried it on Facebook, got it first time three stars.

Van5 said...

Yup never enough licorice. Used 5, then 15 of my gold bars to finish getting the licorice. Followed advice above and made 3 candy moves and the licorice fell. Glad to be past this one. What a waste of gold bars! Good luck everyone!

Anonymous said...

I have needed ONE licorice multiple times!! Has anybody figured out which type of moves drop licorice ?? I have made so many combos but there is a way to get the licorice to drop and I haven't figured it out- help🙄!

Anonymous said...

Tried and tried but finally gave in and got 5 extra moves to get that laser licorice!

Claret33 said...

Impossible on iPhone and similar. I'll be trying this on PC instead!

Melanie said...

After I read the tips I got this on my second try. Open up the right side ASAP, let the chocolate and licorice grow you can makes lots of combos to blast them. I did this on my iPad. Fairly straight forward fun level. Good luck!

Anonymous said...

Impossible to get enough licorice on IPad..

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the tip Melanie, but still can't grow the licorice 😕

Anonymous said...

Wish I had a helpful tip to offer, but unfortunately I am getting nowhere! Taking a break!

Anonymous said...

Pretty much have had it with this one!

Anonymous said...

As long as there is a glitch with the licorice on the iPad, it's pointless to play

Unknown said...

I don't think it's a glitch, just them making you buy extra moves in order to complete. It seems that the licorice only drops every other move at best which means you will always be at least one short. I expect once every a 100 games or so they will add more drops.

Anonymous said...

Guessing this won't be fixed anytime soon.

Michael Lin said...

I just passed this level (thank god!!) on iphone after numerous tries...(probably stuck on this level for a week), the trick is to break fast enough to the right side but not to crush licorice until the very end. The pattern is if you break one licorice, it will not appear until the step after the next. Once you are one the right side, make some waste moves until enough licorice has been gathered on the left. Of course luck played the most portion...I hate this level for passion and hope ya'll can pass level soon.

Anonymous said...

It's Wednesday and a new episode has been released as I sit here still stuck.. Looks like I will have to find another game after today. This blog has been great. Without all the great tips, I would have not gotten this far. Thanks to all!

Anonymous said...

After the nightmare of level 1489... Shame on you King.. Playing on the iPad you don't even have a chance since there is not enough licorice to meet the order😡

Anonymous said...

Double shame on you, King...

Anonymous said...

Ridiculous! This one has got to be a joke!

Anonymous said...

Well, King, it's pretty apparent that you are willing to lose players by not making this game fair to those who play on ipads!

Anonymous said...

See ya!

Anonymous said...

1490. I've got this far without ever spending a penny on the game. But I can't see a way past this one. High score of 230,000 and I was still 7 licorice short. 7! Not even close. Looks like a few more hours are needed on the bog.

Anonymous said...

To the above blogger....if you are playing on a iPad, you will need more than a few hours to get the licorice order....its "fixed", but wish you good luck!

Anonymous said...

Guessing King has no intention of fixing the "licorice " bug...

Hi all.

I have to agree in saying this level stinks. Whats the fun when you clear the board as fast as possible but not enough licorice falls??

No fun. Thinking about qutting this shithole game.

Cat said...

Checkmark booster bada bing!

Oh wait, the "tick" booster. Smh lmao

Jess Blevins said...

As long as there is chocolate there is licorice, you have to leave a chocolate on the board as long as possible and it will continue to dispense licorice

Bill. said...

On phone very difficult to get enough liquorice whereas on Pc second attempt liquorice forms more readily as do combinations.

Anonymous said...

That is my problem too. Never enough licorice!

Tambre McCaslin said...

A tip for those who can't seem to get enough licorice! Try playing the desktop version on your computer. That was the only way I could get them

Anonymous said...

Thank you for the comments! On my android phone i played numerous times and could never get enough licorice. So, after reading here, I logged in on the PC and passed the level on my first try! THANKS!

Unknown said...

Me too! I don't know how to make more fall faster. I am always 2-4 licorice short!

Alex McLean said...

Me too. I've foubd if you nake moves in the top 2 rows on the left it usually makes a licorice fall but then you're not getting anything else!

Anonymous said...

Did not get enough licorise either. Used a lucky candy and passed!

Anonymous said...

I am playing on iPad never enough liquorish !! 13 moves left to get 6 and still needed two!! Grrr..

Anonymous said...

Always down to 1 locorice !!!! After loosing all my boosters ..... This is so frustrating ... This cannot be an intelligent game to play !!! Grrrrrr , give up n be Happpy !!! Are these games riged ???!!!

Anonymous said...

Tell me does King have something against Apple? Why is there not enough licorice on the iPad, ?????? You are forcing us to put down our iPads and go to other devices, This is not the first times a level has presented this problem Fed up with this!!!!

Lynn Westberg said...

Haven't made it yet, but I think I'm seeing that the same rules apply when we're trying to collect chocolate and licorice as when we're trying to avoid it... Doesn't make another one if you have just destroyed one. SO I think letting choc and licorice build up might help. If not, check mark booster here I come.

Anonymous said...

The tip about playing on the right side FINALLY worked for me. I, too, was not getting enough licorice. So frustrating! So boring until you can finally work your way over to the right side. I kept a sprinkle on standby in the right section and made small moves over on that side hoping more licorice would fall on the left. Finally I had the three I needed and I set off the sprinkle and the resulting cascade took them out. If this wasn't a level where you NEEDED licorice it would have taken over the board! So ridiculous!

Have gotten licorice and blockers on several opportunities and a few times of having a lot of moves left (had some good matches) have gotten down to 1 to 6 chocs. then they seem to stop appearing even though I have plenty of moves left. I'm playing on ancient laptop, plenty of licorice, no chocolate.

flyking45 said...

For licorice to drop do not clear it as it drop. Clear candy that are below the licorice. If u clear 3 vertical candy below the column of the licorice 3 licorice will drop down on the same column

Suppose to be easy but it is not...never enough licorice or chocolate

Anonymous said...

I HATE these levels. Not licorice, ever, then not enough chocolate, then you get no combos/hits to get the blocks. It just goes around and around til they decide to give you a good board. First try you may get one order, then next try you may get another order, then you're screwed, you get nothing.

Anonymous said...

I can't get enough cream blockers~Help please!

Unknown said...

Isn't licorice like chocolate? If you hit one, you won't get one on the next move.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone know any tricks to get the licorice to come down?

Marci said...

Open up the right side as soon as possible! Hit whatever you have to to do it! Play on right side as much as you can and build up your choc and licorice on left! While doing that build up your combos to do multiple hit on your choc and licorice! This is a no waste move so pay attention and the level is much more fun after figuring it out

Anonymous said...

If I ignore other orders and just try for all the licorice, it takes all the turns just to do that one thing. I think I'm done. Isn't the definition of insanity trying the same thing over and over again and expecting different results? Yep.

Anonymous said...

I tried the PC instead of iPad and iPhone, and it finally worked out :)

WendyinKK said...

I couldn't get enough licorice on my Iphone, and I played it on my laptop.
There was more than enough licorice but it was pretty hard to break through initially compared to Iphone. The play-o-meter came up, I rated it boring and then, I could get the stage done. LOL.

Anonymous said...

Got it on the second try on a PC. Broke through the right bottom of blockers and then worked on the lower part of the far right, hoping for cascades to give me a hand. They did, and on the last move a cascade gave me the final licorice I needed.

I found it more fun than the last couple of levels.

DataQueen said...

This was a horrid level. Having struggled for two days, getting all the orders except for the liquorice, I was despairing. I had been concentrating on making small 3 fruit moves at the top because that seems the only way to get liquorice. Doing that, the rest of the Board mainly looks after itself. Finally decided to use the tick mark booster which gave me nearly enough extra liquorice then needed to spin the wheel to get 5 extra moves at the end for the last piece.

louise brill said...

I've been short of 2 about 4 times my heads about to fall off!

Anonymous said...

This could have been a fun level, it's not too hard really.... If it weren't for the fact that no liqourice will drop on the board! Not even when you make moves on the top, whereas I remember endless streams of liqourice would fall in other levels. I tried to finish this level many times, using the tips from other players, but it's just not happening for me... I don't know what King is playing at, but by now I think this game stinks and there's a good chance I'll delete it from my Ipad soon. I got as far as this level an I consider myself an experienced player by now... But this level is a cheat or at least one big flaw. So I'd suggest that King should hire some SKILLED programmers tomake this game fun again...

Marlene said...

This was an awful level. I agree with comments about not enough licorice. I finally passed because of a miracle. Given a sprinkle ball and check mark and was able to make another sprinkle ball near the other one. Used hand switch to move them together and got lots done in first move. I had 28 moves to finish. I did use one hammer but finally finished with 3 stars. Good luck to all!

I refuse to pay money to win this, but I don't think it it's possible to get enough licorice without buying extra moves. Maybe this level will make me quit playing.

Bobbie said...

I come here for strategy advice and luck but have never commented. My favorite games are the collect orders, because they require strategy. I have many many boosters but try never to use them on these games.

That said, I don't agree with the comments here that criticize King. This is perhaps the most strategic game that I have encountered because it is counter intuitive. This was my strategy:

1. Keep resetting the board till you get a vertical stripe over one of the blocked chocolates
2. Break open the bottom as soon as possible to fill in the right side. If you can't do this within 16-20 moves give up and start again.
3. Concentrate on breaking the blocks on the right side till the number left is close to the number of chocolate and licorice.
4. This is when it becomes counter intuitive. From now on you need to make as few cascades as possible so that the requisite number of chocolates and liquorice are produced.

You have to try to make moves that disturb the board as little as possible, while at the same time setting up moves that will destroy the chocolates and liquorice before you run out of moves.

I finished this finally by just using the lollipop hammer on the last liquorice, but I do believe it's possible with no boosters.
