Candy Crush Saga Level 2042 tips and video

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 2042 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Yet another luck level, although maybe not quite so luck based as the previous level.
You need to work your way into the bottom part of the board to set off the UFO's if you are to have any chance of passing level 2042.
You don't need the UFO's for the wraps they provide, although they are helpful, you need them to clear the cream blockers. You will have little chance of clearing the blockers using normal combos so the UFO's are a vital tool.
Start by clearing the blockers along the top and releasing the lucky candies, then match these as often as possible. The lucky candies will give wraps often enough for you to switch them together and create cascades.
Switch wraps together near the top left if you get the chance as these will drop into the bottom and with luck they may set off the UFO's. This will give you most, if not all, the blockers you need so you will just have to continue switching the lucky candies for any remaining wraps.
If you are lucky you can complete this in a few goes, but if (like me) you don't have much luck with the candies it can take a lot of lives! I don't think it is worth using boosters from the start as so much relies on luck and you will waste a lot of boosters without much effect.
Keep trying and eventually you will do it. Just as a reference  it took me 46 goes to do the following video.

Thank you for mentioning the 46 tries! I don't know if it took me that many, but at least I didn't feel like a complete idiot as I failed again and again and again.

Re: Boosters on this level. Here's a hint if you are having lots of trouble. If you start out well (have a number of cascades with packages in the first half of moves, and get into the cream but not all the way to the UFOs), use one lollipop hammer on one of the UFOs as it will surely trigger all the UFOs and This will (as stated above), get you most of the cream and set you up to likely pass the level. It takes some faith (I hate using a hammer if I'm not 100% sure it will be the key to passing the level), but if you're going to do it this way, this IS the level to do it. :)

Another stupid bloody level

Passed on fifth try. Was not able set off flying saucer until only one move reminded. I had been lucky with special candies early and only needed 8 wraps and 4 blocks. The one saucer set off the other two and bingo. Done.

This episode is idiotic, not you.

Thank you for the hammer on flying saucer tip, was getting very bored with this level.

Ridiculous Level!!!! I have not had one board where licorice covered blocker below cherry. Frustrating and getting boring. Have use coconut wheel but has only appeared once.

Wasting a lot of hammers here. After the ufos are released the lucky candies slow way down as do the cascades. very frustrating episode.

My boards are not showing the correct amount of cream. After clearing the cream, it still is showing that I need 2. Has anyone run into this? I had still needed over 10 wrapped so I was still nowhere in winning.

Used the tick booster which helped a lot by creating lots of wraps then used a hammer on ufo with just a few moves left.

Tried the hammer someone suggested several times, nothing more than I was getting without starting with one...When I have gotten all the meringue, I am way short on licorice and it doesn't drop very often. Not sure why this isn't considered a hard level! Seems hard to me! I guess I will wait for the lucky board yet again!

You can also use a hand switch to switch two UFOs next to each other.

Brilliant! Worked first try. Also used a check booster. I made sure to reset until I saw a gd board, made a few moves to get started & then set off one of the bottom saucers which set off the other 2. Then there are enough moves left to finish off the rest. Thx! NC

Nice to hear it took Cookie 46 tries, makes me feel a bit better.
Will try the hammer on a ufo trick and see if that helps me. K

Thanks for the hammer tip used 1 hammer and passed first time.

I have to admit all I did was to follow Cookie's instructions to not use any boosters. Just played a few times until the lucky board appeared, the UFO's started and then I finished the game easily after that. Thank you!

The hammer on the UFO was a good tip, but didn't work for me. I either end up being short on wraps or short on blockers. I've realised that the blockers already on the board aren't enough either. This level is just annoying. Boosters are no help

Aaaand as soon as I posted that, I passed!!

Had 14 moves left and still needed to clear one cream blocker? But there was no blocker left....I even took a picture of the screen to study it. No blocker. Did not pass the level, and refuse to buy extra moves.

The lucky candies have the extra blockers... I feel like every level that's being created needs more moves... It is a smart way to make us chose to use boosters or buy extra moved but at the same time it takes much of the fun out of it. I'm still playing and will be until out of boosters. I still have a UFO from teaching level 2000. Thinking about using it... Will try hammer trick first. Thanks for advice all!

Hammer hint worked! Thanks again!

Sixth try. Would have tried the hammer trick, but I'm out of them. Used a check booster to help get the ball rolling. The rest was luck. REALLLLLLY getting tired of the LOLs (Luck Only Levels).

Hammer tip did not work for me, posting for luck!

Finally worked using color bomb, special candy and my last check mark and my last hammer. I used my hammer early to set off ufos after igniting color bomb and candy wrap. I finished with 2 moves barely.

Horrible level, impossible for me!

Not seeing any mention of chocolate or where it comes from

20 games played and I still haven't managed to hit a flying saucer! I was hoping to get through this one without boosters, but I may have to have a rethink...

Lolly, guter Tip, nach so vielen Versuchen, gleich geklappt :)

Posting for luck.

Getting really fed up of these luck levels, I dont think I have got through a level for ages without boosters. Would try the hammer but don't have one. I don't think this is even stated as a hard level.

After half a dozen goes getting nowhere and with the mystery candies being mostly blockers I got lucky. I had a wrap over a wrap in the top left. That blasted through the blockers and set off one UFO. It was easy after that.

So hard to get the cascade effect

Mad Man said...

You have to rely on the lucky candy. Not all icings needed are provided at the outset.

Mad Man said...

After a dozen or more tries, got it on second try with hammering a saucer. Two tips:

1) Don't hammer on the first move. Clear the top icing first. Otherwise you waste the wrap explosions on the top instead of where you really need them, which is of course the bottom.

2) Hammer the top one to avoid the wraps just falling into the open space at the bottom. That will still happen to a degree, but you might as well give yourself every advantage!

Used a check mark booster and colour bomb to start. Opened up the blockers at the start to get special candies dropping. Used a swap to put two of the UFO's side by side and when I matched them, they opened up a lot of the board. Had to buy 5 extra moves as I was short 4 wrapped candies but got through with 2 stars. Yay! Penny

ffs, not another of these rubbish levels - i dont normally go to this site for help unless i really need it, but im using it for practically every game - my spirit is diminishing .............

I visit this blog a lot for help, but I'm really getting tired of these levels that just require just luck. What's up with the CC creators? It use to be fun and challenging.

One hammer on the bottom left saucer and done. LA

Thank you!!!!! I was stuck on this level for so long, so I looked up your advice and bam! Beat it on the second try with no boosters :) I didn't understand at first how working on the top left corner would help (I'm so used to working from the bottom when I need blockers cleared) but the top left corner totally worked & got me to the UFOs thanks, glad it's over :)

1 color bomb and 1 hammer

Suzie O said...

Reset until I had sprinkle and wrap together... this opened up the top left some. Then I used the lolly hammer on the bottom right UFO and that left the other two together. Set off the two and that cleared out most of the blockers but now lucky candy is not falling like before. I got impatient and decided to use the free UFO we all got for passing level 2000 and that was what I needed. Only needed a couple of each to finish and stripe/wrap landed together and took them out.

Sandy Carter said...

Yes, I found I had to use a check to get the last two blockers. I used the check booster but it has a downside. Until all the blockers are cleared it will always produce a blocker. Only after that will it turn into a wrapped.

Anonymous said...

What am I doing wrong? I end up not having enough blockers or wraps at the end to fulfill the requirements

I want a lucky board like that video - it looks so easy and so much fun!!!
