Candy Crush Saga Level 428

How to pass level 428 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
It is really important that you clear the chocolate before anything else. If you don't clear it quickly it will completely fill up the square and you will not be able to complete the level without a great deal of trouble.
If you play on a mobile device I would suggest you look first to see if there is a move by the chocolate and if not quit and start again before you make a move. Keep doing this until you can make a move to remove the chocolate.
If you are on PC then you don't have this option and will have to try to play with what you are given.
Once the chocolate is out of the way you need to clear the blockers which are preventing the ingredients from going out of the exits.
The candies move through the teleports from top left, then bottom left, then top right and finally bottom right, so work in the right side as much as possible to keep the candies and ingredients moving, but you must check the whole board and before you make a move on the right check to see if you can make a stripe or wrap on the left.
Stripe/wrap combos are great for clearing a lot of candies and if you can switch them in the bottom half of the board on either side they will have the best effect.
If you are struggling with this level you could try using a coconut wheel booster if you have one.

This level isn't all that difficult, but if I see that I can't wipe out the chocolate right away (no matches in top right), I won't even bother to play it. I'll hit 'End Game' button without taking a turn. It's a waste of time trying to get it with horiz. stripes or stripe/wrapper combos from the other side.

Once chocolate is gone, it's a reasonable level. Just take out the bottom rows of cream and you're all set.

Unfortunately, D. Sullivan...for those of us who play on a PC we don't get the option to quit the game without taking a turn! You're right that if you can't get the chocolate right away it is hopeless!

On the PC the end game button is down in the lower left hand corner. Looks like a red power switch.

Agree with comments. Even though I took out the chocolates right away, sometimes the needed horizontal stripes were not in the right place before the exploded. Also focus on getting vertical stripes to the top right.

I may take a few sets of lives, but it's doable. Good luck! Pat

yep, agree with D Sullivan!!!

This level is another poorly designed level. There's no skill involved whatsoever, just pure luck if it gives you the moves to win or not. You're pretty much landlocked on what you can do more often than not, and like others have said, if you can't get rid of the chocolate immediately, forget it. It's also much easier said than done to get rid of the creampuffs. Every time you get rid of the chocolate, your cherries are in the way, keeping you from being able to make the moves you need to take the creampuffs out. Basically, it's still another one of those levels that comes down to luck and nothing else. Those types of levels seem to be getting all-too prevalent in the 400s.

I no more than complain about the level, and then I beat it... Like I said though, it came down to if it lets you get the moves or not. It allowed me to take out the chocolates in 2 moves, and then it allowed me to get rid of a good portion of the creampuffs right away, and I was able to clean up the rest and get all of the ingredients down with 17 moves to spare.

A boring level.
Agree with above that you need a good opening board to clear the chocolate first. Then, work on the top left to make a combo or a horizontal striped, and make them fall to the left bottom to clear the blocks at the right bottom.Due to limited space and moves (4*4), you have very few choices and rely on luck to pass.

Agree with others here. If the moves are not there initially to clear the chocolate, you may as well pack it in and end the game, which means that most games are over in a couple of moves at most! No fun in that!!
I was lucky enough to clear the chocolate quickly and most of the icing wall but then I ran out of moves. My score, however, was only 15,000, significantly shy of the required 85,000. Even if I'd had a few more moves and cleared the cherries, I would have been nowhere near the required score.
Will give it a few more tries but nearing the end of my patience with stupid levels that give the player little chance of testing their skill. JM

No idea why so many moans. Fun game after you clear the chocolate. Keep looking for horizontal combinations in the bottom right box. Good game.

what a monotonous game i though candy crush games in the 400 range would be more exciting i have used 17 lives so far

what a boring game, just going through the motions of moving 3 colours around i am reaching 70 to 80 lives. This would put anyone off playing this game.

I had 3 ingredients left, all in the bottom right box on my second try! I agree that if you can't take out the chocolate first, don't bother. This is one level that I have hit the back button on until I get a set up I like. I don't think it's boring and I don't think it's entirely luck. You need be about to think about making stripes. I was lucky enough to get a wrap/stripe combo, to clear the merangue. I don't think this will be too difficult to pass! Everyone should be glad there are no tornadoes sabotaging the moves!

This level has changed my entire attitude about the game. I no longer look forward to playing and do not bother to play if I cannot clear the chocolates in the first moves.

I have been frustrated in the past, but this is the first level I have zero interest in playing.

Wow, I finished this level with 4 moves left and 3 stars after only about 15 tries!

I almost gave up after the first move because I had no moves within the candy block, but I stuck with it, got a couple of wrapped/striped combos in the bottom left block to clear the jelly, which created all kinds of striped and wrapped candies that exploded by themselves, and all the cherries fell thru nice as you please.

Thanks for the advice on the quit button, I'd heard of it but didn't think you could on a PC so it was worth getting stuck on this level! Waste enough of my life without using up useless lives!

Anonymous said...

I know some of you have found it relatively easy to pass this one but I'm struggling! Have hit the quit button so many times now! Annoyingly on my first go I needed one more turn to win - oh if only I'd known!! Haven't bought any boosters throughout the game and certainly will not do so now! Oh well will pass it eventually I suppose!

Yes, you can 'quit' a level on a PC using the red button, but you WILL also lose a life... NOT with using an iPhone/Android.

All games so far have resulted in the choc filling the box as no moves to clear. The rest of the game is shifting candy around with no hope of anything happening. What sort of stupid level is this?????

Anonymous said...

This has to be one of the most badly designed levels so far. If you don't get the chocolate first time you've got zero chance and might as well give up. The other boxes get choked up with licorice and fruits, there is usually only one move available, board constantly re-shuffles, very rare to get a decent combo. King seem to have lost the plot lately. I don't mind difficult levels as long as they are enjoyable and this ain't!

Will the chocolate stuff ever go away?!! I'm so tired of fighting it. Come on, guys, find something else!

If you don't get a move to clear the chocolate there is no point in continuing . day 3 on this level and not once have I been able to collect any of the orders . my 5 lives are used up in less than 3 minutes because I quit the game .

Anonymous said...

It's correct: If you don't get a move to clear the chocolate there is no point in continuing this level.

I played it 15 times on my iPhone. Because I was out of lives I run to the PC: 2nd time, and BINGO. Easy job-:)

There are much more stripes and wrapped candies on the PC.

I even had 14 moves left...

Good luck from the Netherlands

Again you are stuck making pointless moves that accomplish nothing but are the only moves available... so you just sit there moving pieces around. It's true that if you can't clear the chocolate immediately you might as well just quit, but then you go through your lives in a matter of minutes, and game over. Not fun.

I agree. Restart right away if no moves in chocolate corner and give up if it overwhelms. I have blown the chocolate other ways, but you waste enough moves that you should just forget it. I never the like the four square levels due to limited moves sometimes, tho I found this one better than others. Got good board and with a little skill, cleared it with a few moves left. This too shall pass. I found using horiz stripes to blow the bottom right from the bottom left worked best, and of course pkg/stripe combos are awesome but I found a lot blew from dropping candies before I could get them into position. Vertical stripes in the right boxes are good too but I found them harder to set off unless I could get a horiz on the left side to do it. Probably took 25 tries on ipad.

Don't even bother if u can't clear chocolate in top right box! U cannot win if that chocolate isn't cleared. Not really a fun level.

Anonymous said...

Some one said that on ur PC that u could hit the red button & get a new board & not lose a life, not true. U do lose a life! This is not easy & not fun! I sure hope the whole episode is not the same or I will quit !

Anonymous said...

first board couldn't clear the chocolate but the second try got a good board and eliminated chocolate quickly! lots of stripes helped and a few packages! It was a fun level to play! going slowly and looking at all moves really helps! having the fruit lined up behind each other helps too!

Play this one on mobile and not on Facebook, because if you start and there are no moves on the chocolate board in the upper right, back out and try another board (on mobile, this doesn't cost a life). You have to clear the chocolate quickly; otherwise, it's a waste of time. Striped candies are hard to get, and later in the game, the cherries start to get in the way. Only once in thirteen tries so far have I gotten any ingredients down, and that one time, the last three were stacked behind the last bit of blocking cream on the board when I ran out of moves. Points are a concern as the totals are very low, but oddly, when cherries started to drop, the points racked up. This is another level where good boards are rare, but when you get one, you've got to make the most of it.

Another dumb level! Like everyone else has said, don't even bother if you can't clear the chocolate. If you're lucky enough to clear the chocolate, try to keep making moves in the lower right box as it causes movement in all the boxes which will hopefully create more moves. Haven't cleared it yet - had 4 ingredients left once - but I can see this is one of those levels where it all comes down to a lucky board. Where's the challenge and fun in that?????

Anonymous said...

True, if you can't clear the chocolate forge it! Stick to playing on the mobile and it will keep you just that little bit saner. I have got through many hard levels on my mobile,

I've just posted the above comment - and am amazed. Two rounds later I've cleared this level on my mobile.

It seems there are more options to clear the chocolate on the mobile, I had tried on the pc and iPad and got nowhere.

Beat this level with one life. Use a coconut wheel from your free daily spin. It will appear in the top left box so use it horizontally to blast away all the chocolate with your first move. After that, getting rid of the jellies is a doddle as it's easy to make striped and wrapped combos. Finished it this way with 23 moves left.

Anon of 29 May, you're a legend!!!

This was the first level ever where after a while, I was quitting games as soon as I saw I couldn't clear the chocolate. I was depressed.

But I decided to use one of my coconut wheels, as suggested. Now, I didn't use mine straight off in the game (potentially big mistake) as I did see one move to clear the top layer of chocolate first, and to my dismay the coconut wheel then dropped to the bottom left board.

If that happens, you can still get value out of it IF you can get it to the top right box. Luckily I did and once that cleared the top layer of meringue and the chocolates, I started seeing combos dropping out spontaneously and I was finished with loads of turns to spare. Got over 300,000 in the end, without trying. That was the first time I used the coconut wheel.

This is a level where they expect you to buy boosters or use your free ones, I am sure of it.
So use a COCONUT WHEEL.

A very silly level! After two lives of getting nowhere I used a coconut wheel from my daily spin. Aaah, bliss and soon sorted.

Anonymous said...

I also used my free coconut wheel & waited until I got a board that had candies which would get rid of the 1st layer of chocolates. Thank God they give us that daily spin !!! Good luck !!! Now onward & upward !!

I spent one evening trying to pass this level on my iPhone and decided it was worth a visit here to see if I was doing something obviously wrong. After reading all the comments I decided that I should not waste any more time on boards where I couldn't quickly clear the chocolate. With that in mind I passed on a few boards, got a good one, cleared the chocolate then moved on to the cream. I was able to use a vertical striped candies in the upper right hand box to clear all but the foil on one cream. I used a free lollipop from the daily wheel to get rid of that. 5 of my cherries went through that hole and the rest of the board opened up. 3 stars with 20 plays left. Thanks again, All Help (ers)
