Candy Crush Saga Level 1696

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1696 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
You have to collect 20 cream blockers, which are all in the 4 squares separated from the board, each one has to be hit 5 times.
The 100 blue and green candies you need should be collected as you clear the blockers.
Stripes and especially stripe/wrap combos are the way to collect the cream blockers.
It is possible that a colour bomb/stripe combo may get the blockers, but you need to make sure that there are some candies the same colour as the stripe in the same line as the blockers.

This level stinks...the colored candies are easy to get, but getting the cream blockers, no such luck :o(

This is one that takes a lot of patience. I worked at making combos and got lucky with two color bombs . I used a hand switch each time when I could match them with a stripe and this got me the cream blockers I needed! Can't imagine getting the cream without some help🙄
Good luck crushers!

Very frustrating level. Finally got down to needing just 4 blockers so I used 4 hammers to finish it off. Only 1 star but happy to be moving on. Good luck everyone!

Like others, I too was stuck up at this level for long. Every time, I was left with 2-6 blockers. And I did not have the hammers to clear. Finally, I decided to use a tick mark candy booster. To my surprise, there were many special candies and most of them turned into blockers which were easily cleared. This way game was over without clearing the original blockers.

I tried the tick booster too after a few tries. I missed the first few times by 5 or 6 blockers and my first couple of tries with the tick booster provided just more green or blue candies. The next time i did get a couple of extra blockers but I also was able to form several stripe/wrap candies and finally two color bombs that eventually moved next to one another. That cleared the final level of blockers and I just had to collect the rest of the colored candies. All in all it took only 6 or 7 tries. Maybe I got lucky but certainly not the worst level ever.

Lately, the original "hints and tips" amount to little more than an explanation of the level, whereas the real help comes from the commenters. Take this level, for example. The hints and tips tell us to use combos. Duh. But then Akora suggests using the tick/checkmark booster. The first time I used it, I passed the level on the first try. After having failed it probably 20 times without using it.

I think why the check mark works so well is that you get a lot of chain reactions on this level. I had a lull in check marks dropping, and realized I had hit a dead spot in the board action. At first I was trying to create stripes, and they would always explode before I could line them up. So if you have a check mark booster active, you get a ton of drops as long as the board stays really active. First try with a check mark and I missed by one cream hit. Never got close just going for combos without the booster. Maybe go for more wrapped, just to blow up the board on purpose along with the booster (I've got about 80 left, why not).

Do people ever read their own comments before posting? Try checking your spelling and stop posting repeat comments. It just takes an extra couple of seconds to make sure you have the right spelling.

no problem getting the colors...just can't get the blocks even using up my precious boosters

Great idea! Worked for me too.

Got it first go- match colour sprinkles with stripes, takes out lots of blocks in one go. Need to do this move around 3 times.

I really hate reading criticism about Ms. Cookies tips. They are free! I'm sure she figures anyone who has gotten this far would know to use a tick/check booster if you are having trouble.

Btw, the tick/check booster didn't help me one bit. Each time it turned into blue or green and I needed the blockers.

Yesterday i played this level for +/- 1 hour and my score was 1,539,000 (yep 1 million) and I had to stop because my thumb was hurting a lot.

Currently playing this level for 2 hours. The time candies are unlimited. Score is 1710000 and no end in site.

TICKS weren't enough.

Didn't make cream, didn't come often enough.

So I tried that "Active Board Theory" and things were twirling and spinning. It didn't produce a lot of ticks until the very last minute.

So cannot verify if the busy board activates more ticks falling, but it worked, so good luck to you.

Tick Mark worked for me the 1st time !! Thanks

OMG here we go again, smh!

This level is ridiculous you line up the stripes to hit the blockers only to find them exploding before you get the chance to clear blockers.not enough moves to get any where near clearing. Just as I start to enjoy playing again you get another impossible/boring game.

@Suzie Q: You're right and you expressed my feelings about those complaining about Alina's and Ms. Cookie's tips. I've seen many complaints about the video being different from the actual game board. I don't see how anyone can get anywhere near this far and not know that King goes back and tweaks and changes levels from time to time. The number of moves is sometimes changed, requirements for passing changed, and sometimes a level is made a "hard level" that wasn't before. Alina and Ms. Cookie have real lives outside of CC. I can't even imagine the tremendous amounts of time they put into the tips here considering how many attempts it takes to pass each level. As far as not mentioning the use of boosters critcism, the first sentence to each of these posts should be a clue: "Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1696 Candy Crush Saga **without boosters** by Cookie."

Now that my rant is over, I haven't passed yet even though I've come close a couple of times. As Ms. Cookie says, striped/wrapped combos are the way to go here. Color bomb/stripe combos may get you a couple of hits, and there are times that may be the only or best move you have, but the results are very minimal due to the positioning of the stripes when an opportunity comes up. I seldom use boosters anymore since, to borrow a comment from another player, you can play like a world champion but you won't pass until the game is ready to let you pass.

Well, the "post here for luck" seems to have worked! I just passed on my first try after posting a few minutes ago! I used no boosters, but several striped/wrapped combos did it. The blue and green candies took care of themselves. This was all made possible by getting the famous lucky board and it all just came together.

By the way, I forgot to mention that playing on a PC seems to be the way to go on this level. The opportunities for combos on the mobile version were not anywhere near as plentiful as they are on the PC version.
