Hints and tips showing how to pass level 2981 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
The cake bombs have jelly under them so they have to be destroyed. They will help a lot with clearing the jelly too, in fact if you manage to clear all the cakes you should have cleared the jelly.
Collecting the keys will unlock the locked cells so that you can get to the cakes easier. Clearing the cakes is easier said than done as you need some stripes or combos to get to the far corners of them.
Stripe/wrap combos are good as are colourbomb/stripe combos, although you need a bit of luck with the colourbomb combos for the stripes to go where you want them.
I found this level much easier to pass using a jelly fish booster now that the moves have been reduced to only 26.

I have 90 seconds to clear the board, not 26 moves
From level 2977 to this one (2981) ALL levels are different in IOS and Android, specially in number of moves and number of hits you need to clear the blockers. Btw, every level is more difficult in IOS.
And the most crazy thing is what Alison said: this one is a “simple” jelly level in IOS and a time jelly level in Android.
Why King is doing that??????
Both my devices are android, so why I got an easy IOS level is anyone's guess.
I read Cookies comments and forgot to immediately read the comments by the other bloggers so I was totally surprised by the timed level. I didn’t notice until I went to reset and got the message (while my time was ticking away) that I’d lose my stocking booster if I quit. I went on of course and passed barely. I had taken cookies advice and added a jellyfish and that really helped.
One bit of advice for those of you using iOS or Android devices - if you have more than one (in my case 2 iOS mobile devices)- you can start a level on one and if you find you are totally missing the point or just have an awful board, you can go to your other device and just start fresh on the sane level. You can chose different boosters or reset to get a better board (just not on timed levels). I don’t know if this works if you r switching operating systems, I just kept my old phone and removed the SIM card when I got my new phone so that I could play games and not use up battery life on my ‘talking’ phone. The latest levels have been so ridiculously hard I am just using every advantage I have and thought maybe some of you other players can move between devices too
Goodness, I have had no where near the look as shown in the video, I have been on this level for two days, I enjoyed it at first but to be honest it is getting a little tedious now.

unbelievable, without using boosters I got two colorbombs next to each other on the third move. after hitting them I was left with the corner piece only on all 4 cakes. took me all game to get 2 cleared. and then I died.

I had timed boosters yesterday, for 12 hours, and even using those boosters I still could not pass, I think I’m losing my skill and luck, but I’m going to keep trying, sooner or later we all pass, good luck everyone
