Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4045 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4045 Candy Crush Saga is a score level, you have to score as many points as possible in the moves allowed and at the same time keep the bombs under control.
This level has been changed since the original tips were written and now at least one of the spawners have to be cleared to get the bombs to drop and get the score needed.

You don't need to clear the cakes either, although clearing them will help to grow the popcorns at the top of the board and give you more colourbombs, but you should be able to make your own colourbombs and use them to keep the bombs under control as they drop through from the top sections of the board.
The only real problem with this level is keeping the bombs under control until you have used up your moves as they don't have a very long countdown. The level has been changed several times but the strategy is the same.

You can hit the cake bombs to take some segments off them but don't destroy them yet. If there are one or a few segments left, you can hit those segments to clear the bombs if they get out of control.
Not so hard as past few levels, CBs are the key, where are all the comments and usual posters?

This level is nearly impossible to get the amount of points required. I easily had 10 color bombs made and still cannot get higher than 150,000 points out of 500,000. There is constant licorice falling so there are never enough candies to make using a CB worth many point. This game has gotten so frustrating. How is this even possible now?
My spawners sent out licorice, not color bombs! It looks like you need to destroy a spawned so that cb will drop. Sorry about the silly spellings, auto correct. Judy

I kept playing making colour bombs but it just wasn't possible to get the score. I think it's imperative to hit the spawners asap, even if you have to use hammers, so the bombs will drop. Then, make the colour bombs switch with the bombs with the most colour. I didn't worry about the cakes, they were destroyed anyway along the way. As soon as I tried this way, I finished with nearly two million points. The licorice wasn't a worry for me.
The liquorice makes it impossible to hit the spawners. Haven't got more than 150k even with full sock, added boosters and 5 extra moves. This is a stupid, stupid level. Why?
Glitch in 4045 on Android.No bombs fall no matter what I do.
I don't get ANY bombs to fall on my phone OR my PC. There are no bombs at all....and therefore, impossible to get enough points to win this game. Why are there different versions of this level? skillgaming has a youtube video and that screen is WAY different than mine.

All i get are licorice falling and no bombs which makes this another impossible level but what else is new. How do we get King to fix this error. King is becoming a real farce.

No bombs, just licorice,...until I wasted a bunch of lollipop hammers on the spawners and then the bombs came down enabling me to get the needed score. Glad I had the lollipops, but what a waste of so many. Not right that that seemed to be the only way to get past the level. What if I didn't have those lollipops? What about people who don't have enough? (which concerns me as well because my stash that I worked hard to get is dwindling rapidly)

Something is wrong with my level 4045. The spawns should produce BOMBS on mine the spawns produce only LICORICE (NO BOMBS ANYWHERE)!

Yes, I am very Close to quitting too. I never start a level without collecting at least three boosters. It is NOT ok
Fix it!!!! Totally impossible after they removed the bombs. Full sock, all boosters, additional boosters, additional moves, huge combos and still can’t do even 150k. Fix!!
Been playing this level for a week. Even if I start with boosters, I can't win this level. I have 9 lollipops. I wonder if that would be enough?

Same as other posters above no bombs just licorice getting no where near 500000 points this may be the level where i say adios CC it just aint enjoyable anymore
But if you have a life why would you want to waste it playing this anymore, it just is not enjoyable for some time now,i dont think it will be giving up on life quiting this game, quite the opposite!
Well I used the previous suggestion, destroying the spawners first. The bombs started failing. I only had to destroy one spawner to win game.
This time I used the previous suggestion destroying spawners.I destroyed one spawner bombs stated falling, just keep destroying bombs to win game.Same worked for me. Don't give up PD.

Done 1st time used tips from above clear the 1spawner asap CBs on bombs same colour job done
You get nothing but licorice dropping until you bust a spawner, then the CB's start dropping.
I was down to two moves when that started and ended up buying 2x time extensions plus a
fiesta pinata. Too much expended on one level, but from reading the tips above I just

I haven't been able to destroy the spawned but a couple of times as the licorice is always in the way. When I finally do destroy one and the bombs fall, I am out of moves. Very frustrating level.
Bloody hate this level. You will never gather enough points if you cannot destroy a spawner within tbe first 5 moves.

Go ahead, call me a winer I don't care. These levels are getting ridiculous. I like a challenge as much as the next guy, but these are not challenging. Where's the challenge when you have to use umteen boosters and still need a lucky board? Yes at the beginning it was FUN, it has lost most of its appeal. The reason a lot of us complain is we hope it goes back to being FUN. Say what you will, call me what you want, but I will still complain and ask for a lucky board.

I dont think the spawners spawn bombs. You have to destroy a spawner to let the bombs drop. And by the way i haven't managed to destroy one yet. Keep trying. Very trying.

Managed to destroy a spawner once but didnt manage to get points needed with no colour bombs to spare. The liquorice is a pain and i am posting for luck.

This is the very worst level. Even destroying the spawner early on in can't come anywhere near the number of points required. Sick of scrolling back to 3711 to get the full stockings (even have to repeat that more times now seemingly!)

I completely agree Linsay. I too am very frustrated with this level, and feel as if its impossible.
Did you complete the level as yet I've just completed it and yes it was annoying until I figured the spawns need to be destroyed in 4 moves I done it and I got the score required

Another crap level.
You MUST destroy at least one spawner, ONLY then the bombs drop and you MIGHT collect the points (had it 3 times and still not enough points, always sth between 350-450K). After wasting many boosters I played without them and finally made it. The trick: One of the 2 spawners was destroyed when I only had one move left (and only 50K points). Now I had 2 CBs on the field but they where still in the upper field, so (fortunately!!) I couldn't combine them with a color and made another draw in the bottom (for a wrap). And then the wonder happened: after the last draw, (like always) automatically the wrap exploded and therefore both CB fell in the bottom field. Then the first CB exploded with some bombs and it was around 200K all of a sudden. And then the second CB exploded and obviously took a color with many bombs... Finished with 550K hooray
You have to change the videos. Spawners produce licorice, not bombs. In order to get the bombs it's necessary to destroy at least 1 spawner and this, with the licorice that they spread, is not that easy in 20 moves and afterwards destroy the bombs with cb in order to get the score. I just got 300.000 points... Please upload a video with the conditions that it's currently working.

I agree with the comments above. This game is no longer any fun and having to use boosters and hammers offers no challenge. I play less and less these days and levels like this one, where the spanner’s need hitting multiple times, as well as constant liquorice preventing that hit, makes it impossible to pass without boosters. I’m quitting this game too.
It’s a joke! Endless liquorice prevents hitting spammers or bombs. No way to pass this level in its current state so I suggest we all give up and stop wasting our time and definitely do NOT part with any money to King to buy boosters for this level, at least until King changes it.

No matter how much I try I cannot destroy the spawners because the licorice prevents a hit. Clearly the spawners need clearing first and NOT the cauliflowers. The only way to get the score required is to elimate the spawners to get the time bombs to fall. I’ve found it impossible to clear the spawners due to the licorice with way too few moves given. A totally ridiculous level. No way am I going to use my boosters and certainly won’t purchase any when there’s no chance of passing this VERY unfair level even with them!

It might have been possible at one point but now it's ridiculously hard. Those of us that come later get the brunt of levels turning impossible. With so many licorice spawning, I am lucky to use all my moves to just get one spawner to burst and then I don't have enough moves left to get bombs to get enough points. Posting for luck. I just posted at 9:49 and switched from playing on my iphone to the computer and I passed first try. WTH Just barely, but I passed! No boosters needed. Just targeted one spawner over and over, then had literally 2 moves left and used 2 sprinkles to get bombs and met the minimum score. ARGHHH
This one is tough..I can't break a spawner with all the licorice.. Seems like only a bunch of hammers will do the trick.. And that's not guaranteed... Posting for luck luck luck !!!
I’ve done some counting. I hit one spawner only continuously (5 hits) and it still couldn’t crack it. Even if it had gone, there wasn’t enough moves left to obtain the points required. I also managed to make about 6 CB’s. By the end I’d still only managed to get 84k points. Suggestion to all: Forget playing this level until King makes it passable and DO NOT waste your money on this level!
I didn't use any boosters (I don't have SD anymore) and passed on my 2nd attempt. The way I did it was to concentrate on the Popcorn, which gives you two CBs, hit together and they destroy the spawners. Then lots of bombs fell. I hope this helps anyone stuck on this level. Good luck.

I've done it today. Watched a video carefully - it took 5 hits to destroy a spawner. Started with a wrap/stripe positioned to hit a spawner (#1) and both cakes. In the next 3-4 moves made a bomb/stripe combo hitting a spawner once (#2) and both cakes. One cake exploded (#3). Made a stripe in the bottom, then hit the second cake which blew up (#4). There were plenty of moves left, so I used a hammer (#5) to destroy a spawner. Then I just played carefully, making and using combos on the bombs. Used a hand once to move together a wrap and a stripe.
Guess I’m lucky. My iPhone version is 400,000 goal. Got second try using one free color bomb

Got this on my third try. I started with a color bomb stripe combo to help clear the popcorn. The cakes were cleared after two moves. I concentrated on one spawner so I didn’t have to worry about bombs exploding. I finished with over one million points.

My (android) colour bomb spawner only produces licorice, but when I busted one it started dropping the bombs. Made it to 234k when I realised. Save up your hammers?

Killing spawners are impossible. Between the liccore and the color bombs not lining up with stripes. When color bombs do finally lineup with a stripe, the stripes don’t hit the spawners. This level is a one step forward, THREE OR FOURS steps backwards, even with full space dash. Need a lucky board. ASAP

It's not so bad as it seems at first, just concentrate on knocking out the spawners so the bombs can fall. I know some of these levels are hard, but I still enjoy playing and I'm sure it'd be boring if all levels were easy.

Exactly why I love this site. Read the tips and passed on first try after several attempts on my own. The bombs don't drop until you kill a spawner. Couldn't figure out how to get my score up. Thanks for the awesome tips
Ignore the videos, neither reflects the current situation. CLEAR AN EVIL SPAWNER! Now no bombs will drop until at least one spawner explodes. Clearing cakes should get you a couple spawner hits, but who can tell? It’s hard to clear the spawner and associated licorice without the cake getting hit anyways, but cake is not the first priority.

Read the tips but can’t get the spawners; ther3 is always Li or ice in the way and not enough moves to get rid of licorice. Have not been able to get over 100,000. 400,000 seems quite impossible.

I got the required score even though I didn't destroy either spawner! I just focused on getting CBs and then switching them with stripes or wraps. The stripes and wraps kept hitting the cakes (wiping them out) as well as keeping licorice at bay. Didn't have to worry about bombs at all. Done.
