Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4197 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4197 Candy Crush Saga is an ingredients level, you have to collect 2 cherries to complete the level.
The cherries are on the board at the start of the level so you just need to get them to their separate exits. The cherry on the left is being held back by chocolate and hidden in the chocolate is a frog. To collect this cherry you need to clear the chocolate and grow the frog so that you can move it out of the way and allow the cherry to drop down to the exit.
There is no need to clear the licorice, it won't do any harm and you will just waste moves trying to clear it.
The best way to clear the chocolate is to use a stripe/wrap combo alongside the candy cane fence, this will clear all the chocolate and once cleared it can't grow back as there are no candies for it to cover and no chocolate machine to make it.
Once the frog is uncovered use a colourbomb to grow it and then you can move it out of the left column and the left cherry will drop down.
When you move the frog, put it in the licorice on the right so that it removes both the blockers in the far right column, this will allow the other cherry to drop down through the portals to the exit. See image below

Played exactly as Cookie tipped. Wouldn't have had a clue if i hadn't known where to place the frog. Worked first time.
Double cb sent right side cherry out 1st move. Plus cleared all chocolate revealing frog. Hand switch frog & cherry... done
They've added a line of double blockers and a line of licorice on the left side plus, taken away 4 moves. Very hard now.

King really should stop doing this. The first half dozen players get an easy board, then they make it harder for every other player. It is so dumb and so unfair. Not good PR.

You only need two moves for this level:
1. Side by side color bombs will get the right side cherry down
2. No need to grow the frog. Just hand swipe it over the cherry and bingo, done!

Thanks for Cookie's advice. I read it after trying and failing on my own. I didn't know I could switch the frog with a licorice so I freed the right cherry first. Was then able to get the left cherry down.
Since most of us now only get a bot reward on current level, the double CB advice is worthless to 99% of us

This is BS . Unless you get a few colour bombs & are able to grow the frog - by which time you’ve wasted half your moves uncovering it - you’re screwed. Too much liquorice & too many colours to make combos . Sucky level & BORING to boot !

I know you know it's me posting again for help!! That's fine cause having to post for luck just to pass a level is b.s. This game gives you a few levels then slams you with impossible levels so you can beg for a lucky board! I've gotten to this point before with this game to where it's just pure BOREDOM!! No more asking for luck. Bubble Empire Champions is a great challenging game as well as Block Triangle, Skillz, jigsaw puzzles. Good luck everyone DO NOT give this game all of your time!!

Will someone please tell me how you just "get" a double CB? Using a booster gets you one and by the time you get to the frog, it is long gone. To get a side by side CB is practically impossible since we can no longer grow the space bot with older levels. It really is insulting for the advice in every level to be using combos that are too hard to get.Sorry if I'm being ungrateful but it just doesn't help that much.
OK, this is not even a hard level?? 21 moves to remove licorice, chocolate, grow frog, and few blockers without boosters??? No way. MAy tries still no go. Tried a coconut wheel, which only ended up between licoride the second one I got, which was no help at all. And since cc changed the rules, impossible to start with 2 cb, never mind having them side by side!! Posting for much needed luck

Once again, the number of moves were reduced. I had one cherry left and it was near the blocker, I used a lollipop to smash the blocker. Once the cherry dropped, the board didn't count it. Meaning the bd still said I need one more cherry, but I had already collected the cherries. So I had to play the last 2 moves and still the bd didn't credit my win. I tried again, I had a coconut wheel, which was drawn in between the licorice, so it couldn't move up nor down. The one Color bomb I had at the beginning was lodged at the left bottom with chocolate. So how can I win if when I won, the level said I still needed cherries but there weren't anymore cherries? How can you win when you get boosters that are wasted by location. I'm not happy with this at all.
I'm stuck on this level while everyone in my "race" has moved on. This is so unmotivating. I keep wondering why I bother.

There seems to be no choice to leave a game for weeks and then bonuses / moves will be added / will make the stage easier and then we will move on.

With 14 moves this has to be one of the most difficult levels so far, and there have been some beauts. Pure luck and the use of 3 hammers allowed me to finally get it. I also started with a wheel. I do wish King wouldn't reduce moves to the point that games are this tough. Good luck
Down to 14 moves from 24— that stinks ! And in the first move of the video, 5 special candies appear !!! I play all 14 moves and can never get one special candy! Help, I’m getting nowhere. Need that lucky board to move on !!
Worst level after five years of King membership. This one is a disaster; wrong video and impossible overall.
The level has changed a lot from what you have posted. The left side with the chocolate is gone and there are about 25 moves now. At the top there are keys covered in licorice and there is licorice underneath them. I've been stuck on this level for several days now. I hope someone can help.
Well when I read cookies comments at first I thought I was on the wrong level. I can start off with boosters but as soon as I match 3 the board explodes losing my boosters and so on. As for the cherries it's never for ending. As soon as I get rid of the liquorice off the cherries more drop down on the left column. Invariably I'm left with cherries still wrapped in liquorice right at the top of the column that can't be hit. How long is this going on for and how on earth can you get rid of the cherries at the top?
The left side has no chocolate or frog just waffles, & when i get any booster bombs they are stuck in the corners where i can't move them also coco ut wheel pathetic & only got 16 moves, a few said there were 24 moves & shar B said they had 25 moves this is so unfair flippen 16 moves come on king dont be so mean
This level has changed a lot! The current version is pretty much impossible. I started with all 3 available boosters and 5 extra moves and I even had 2 lollipops and nowhere near!! There’s too many colours to make anything, and 3 waffles and liquorish blocking them off. It’s just boring, hard level after boring hard level at the moment. It’s not really fun any more.
Lost a lot of lives, but managed it in the end, concentrating on clearing the top left hand corner and made a wrap stripe combo in the top of the column, that cleared the remaining waffles all out and cherry went down. So glad to be past that level.
This level has to be a joke, right? No developer or game designer in their right mind would ever create a level like this? I’m going to need to buy like 25 extra moves to ever pass this. I’m fine with paying King a monthly or yearly subscription for the right to play the game but it’s awful that they make it so that the only way to pass a level in under a month is to buy extra moves at such a high cost.
