Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4229 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Although level 4229 Candy Crush Saga is not classified as a hard level it is quite tricky to pass, mainly because of the licorice along the top part of the board.
The only way to pass this level is by using colourbomb combos as these will clear the licorice and give you a couple of moves to clear any jelly before it is covered by licorice again. If you get the chance to clear the jelly where the licorice will return do it even if it means leaving a good move elsewhere. Once the jelly is gone from that row you can forget it and work on the rest of the jelly.
There are lots of stripes dropping from dispensers which are useful, but switching them with colourbombs is much better than trying to clear everything just by switching stripes.
You can use the conveyor to get your stripes and colourbombs together easily.

THIS level is impossible. Been 9n it for days. THIS may just be the end of the line for me. Hating it. Boring and frustrating beyond belief. Really King? Relaxing and fun went out the window again with this frustrating level.

I seriously don't understand this level. Most of the time when you hit the licorice it just fills up with another licorice. Then randomly it doesn't. It's so frustrating. Especially since this morning, I can't go to lower levels to fill my bot up anymore. Can somebody PLEASE explain how the licorice works on this level? Pfl

Believe it or not...I actually got the jackpot on the daily free spin yesterday. Shocking, because it's been about two years since I got my last one. Anyway, this level sucks just as much as the others. Well, maybe not AS BAD. Probably (hopefully) by tomorrow I will beat it.

I did it. Lucky board, I guess.o boosters. I did go for sideways, rather then upwards. Tried to clear those blocks on the left so the top filled up.. It worked.. Good luck all, hope this helps, currently stuck on 4232, sigh

Took a day, but I got there in the end with no boosters, although did need a couple of hand swaps. You just have to hope for some luck, preferably a couple of colourbomb/stripe combos or a double colour omb.if you can get the chocolate and licorice out of the way early then you're in business, so the earlier the magic combo comes the better. Glad to see the back of this one. Mostly a 'good' turn meant only having 20 jellies left...

Not classified as hard? No, it is classified as nightmareishly hard!
It took three days to get past it with no space dash and it's just pure luck.
One of the best moves you can make on this level is a stripe/fish combo. It created a horizontal stripe on the top row which set off all of the vertical stripes. Sweet!

Now classified as Nightmarishly Hard Level. And it is. After 20 or so tries, I finally tried a free spin with about 12 jellies left. I got the 15 free moves and used 14 of them to get the last one! Ridiculously hard!
Beat this level on 1st try using cb to start, east to make combos, take time and wait fot things to line uo

Rediculously impossible level, not enough moves and as soon as a liquorice is hit another replaces it, how the hell do you clear jelly underneath? Life's too short to waste on this crap!

I used 1 cb booster and 1 fish booster. managed to make a stripe beside the fish. switched the stripe with fish and that helped tremendously. can move on now.
You need an early CB / stripe combo and hope that you set off all the strikes at the top of the board. And after a day or two on this level I've noticed that I'm not being offered any adverts to watch so the I can try for a free CB.
Perhaps I'm just cynical.

^ After posting that I got lucky....yes, I had to use 2 switches and a hammer, but posting here does work. CB's matched with stripes did it. I would have burned ALL of my boosters if I had to. Glad to be moving on, good luck everyone.

I’m totally lost. No idea how to beat. Don’t know why there aren’t at least some strategy instructions... what to do 1st, then what, etc. Guess it was a lot easier at 1st. Sure isn’t now...

Another hard impossible level that you can’t pass without boosters if there aren’t enough moves. Since cc took so much away from the players, it’s not fun sitting and waiting for a lucky board on most of the levels...waiting...waiting..waiting :-(

Carefully reading Miss Cookie's tips the second time, I realized that to clear the licorice, you need to hit them with combos. Single stripes won't work. Finished on the next try. Thanks Cookie for all of your help!

Got it since been playing since this morning,no boosters used. Keep working on hitting blockers on the bottom rows, while not using stripes unless in a combo. Got a CB stripped switch which helped a lot. Then a few more switches and done.

4229 is a different level now so there are no hints for me. I do need help!
Took me a while to realise you need to work away at bottom left and always check the middle tier of the board for opportunities to match.
Down to 12 moves now? Really King? Even though people had problems with this level when if was at 26 moves?
