Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4517 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
You only need to collect one cherry to complete level 4517 Candy Crush Saga. To collect the cherry you need to clear the chocolate from below it and it will easily drop down to the exit.
First grow some of the popcorns to get candies into the bottom left section of the board, use wraps wherever possible as these will give you more hits on the popcorns. Double wrap combos are the best combos as they will also clear chocolate as well as growing the popcorns.
Once you have candies in the bottom left keep looking for colourbomb combos to clear the chocolate towards the right to release the cherry.
There is no real strategy to clearing this level, just blast away at the popcorns and chocolate with the most powerful combos you can make.
A double colourbomb combo will grow the popcorns by one stage and clear a layer of chocolate.

Very, very difficult without boosters!!
Coconut wheel. Especially if you can clear top row of chocolate.
I wonder about the few comments. I have really a problem here, never have enough moves, sometimes even don't manage to get candies in the chocolate region. Also no chance with coconut wheel (as blocked by the popcorn first and the second one often too late) and also not with a double CB i accidentically could switch (as still the chocolate was too thick and everything covered). The best attempt was - like seen in the video - with a double wrap, but in the video the CBs fell nicely into the chocolate region afterwards.. Not when I tried it. Uff. Still working on this one
Made it with the help of the ribboned presents plus coconut wheel... Still wondering how any normal person without booster will make this level
So much chocolate that keeps growing can't clear hardly any of it how I hate this King of chocolate really hoping for a lucky board as I think it's the only way forward

I passed on my second attempt without consulting Cookie's blog (first was with only the color bomb from the bot by passing the previous level, I failed spectacularly, couldn't get the popcorn popped early enough, or make any combinations; second attempt after that failure was adding a color bomb and coconut wheel, I understood better how the board work, and was able to clear some chocolate and make more special candies, combining them with color bombs when possible, a color bomb + stripe combination powered through much of the chocolate and then I could form special candies in the lower middle and combine them to stop the chocolate flow and start clearing it away more, then specials and combining them in the lower left, finishing off the chocolate and collecting the cherry. This level was challenging, but much more fun than the previous nightmare that was 4516. Good luck everyone, thank you for the tips, and happy crushing!

Well nobody is posting...the bottom left of my chocolate is now overed with hearts. I havent even made it into the chocolate. I did get a double speckled ball and so far that is it. Posting for lkuck. I have a free specled ball and using a wheel but does nothing....help would be nice

Playing for days, haven't even come close to removing chocolate, very difficult making combos, when you do there is nothing close to match them, just keep switching and hoping something develops, very boring!

Had to use 3 hand switches to put the color bombs next to each other. Only way I could get out of this ridiculous level.

Long, long time ago cc was my favorite game, now its Just fill up my spare moments cause i found better games. Somesites you got the pinatas, now, i hardly seem them. The game and levels become to boring. Thats why i dont come further in this game. You play less and fill your time by other games. I dont mind, for me i came far enough, the challenge is far away to spoiler my time on cc.
And this is a kind of level, 4517 to decide people to stop playing. Read the comments, hardly comments say enough for me. Not spending time on this. In other games i get further in one year, than in three years playing cc. . The more players realise that, the more players cc lose every day, believe me, they do!
Not playing cc is the best you can do. To boring and to irritating.
Bad level and bad game like most players agree. How bad the game score in reality you can find iT. Not difficult. The score is only go down. Thats What i find out.

I dong ask for a lucky board, Seems this level is hard to get, i say its impossible to get. As an old and long player i say for the first time i say I GIVE UP. To remove this game is the best i can do. Give me no stress anymore. Focus on other games, Well, quess , not kingsize games. Time to get free from cc, and kingsize.!
What is going on with CC? Levels are harder and more difficult than ever before, hardly extra boosters. I think they want me to pay. Well, i dont pay at all. Cant even remove this game, still comming back. You want me to play? Keep your fucking game on order. Now your game is a big mess.
What can i say, no fun, impossible to get, hardly bonus boosters. Hardly players. Where did they go to? Better games? Not kingsize games? By CC you dont come further in this game, you stuc, dont want to play cause its boring to play a level hundred of times. So you think, walk far away from this game.

Passed without popping the Popcorns! Started with a CB from previous level. Made a second and by luck it was easy to combine them. Then, the whole diagonal next to the chocolate had a CB. I don't know if this would happen everytime but thought I'd share.

C’mon so tired with these hard, super hard & nightmerishly hard levels in this game.
And always not everyone get the same board. My board have more thicker chocolates but the same total moves. So how can i pass this level without boosters???
This is ridiculous, you gave different board to each players. It seems king make each level harder and harder to pass even the easy one we hv to spend view lives to pass

Very tough level, can only be passed using the coconut wheel booster and hoping that it appears more than twice. Good luck.
Took me a couple weeks to get through 4514 just to get here.. I refuse to buy boosters at this point so it looks like it will take a couple weeks to get through this one. When I only had one very difficult level once in a while and would get to where I only needed one more move, I would buy a booster because I was tired of the level and i knew it would work. But now so many levels are so difficult you could buy boosters and still fail, very stupid of CC. I’ll just play until I get a lucky board and move on to other games in the meantime.

The licorice shells work in exactly the same way as the popcorn, there is no difference except the look.
It seems the more boosters I buy, the harder it is to pass levels. I figured I play the game, it’s free, so I’ll buy some boosters. But, now it’s like I never get the lucky board. Been stuck here for many days and I’m not going to buy any more, I’ll stay here until 8 get that elusive lucky board.
Could most possibly be the most boring level yet. No strategy involved, just waiting for a lucky board.

I find the level extremely hard. Once I was able to get a double cb combo. I used it and then I got another double cb combo. Even that was not enough to win the level with all that hard shell covered candy. Very difficult.....
I finally won the level. It took 2 double cb combinations, a hand switch and finally the use of the space ship to get the elusive final obstacle with the last life to win. Had I not had all of those helps accumulated I would still be in 4517. Good luck to all of you. Good luck....
This is a ridiculous level. I’ve wasted 5 coconut wheels so far and countless colour bombs. What a colossal waste of time. When I think of the hours put into this game. Years! It’s now become not fun. The last number of levels are so difficult you spend days. Sometimes weeks on one level. I’m not getting closer after days on this level. Pointless. I’m gonna pm the guy that offered to share the games he moved to.

So far, hit one chocolate one time and it quickly renewed. Ugh. This is the worst level I’ve seen.
Have gone through 20 Plus coconut wheels, and have had multiple instances of dobule CB. Still can't get anywhere. There's no real strategy on this level and have even quite before all my lives were used up a couple of times cause it feels like I just "waiting for the lucky board". I won't be one of those people who threaten to quit...I'll just do it one day because there's no reward for the time being spent. (Not there yet, but....)
