Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4862 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4862 Candy Crush Saga is classified as a hard level so you can expect to lose some lives before you manage to pass it. This is an ingredients level, you have to collect 20 ingredients to complete the level. The nuts begin in the bottom row and drop through the portals onto the main part of the board.
There are exits on most columns, but some are blocked by the popcorns and spawners. Don't rush to destroy the spawners and popcorns as the some of the nuts will slip diagonally into the exit columns if you make moves in the bottom part of the board. Once the spawners are unlocked, however, you need to clear them before they start to spawn blockers. Eventually the spawners and popcorns will be destroyed and then you will have to look very carefully at the moves you make. Try to make moves vertically in the exit columns whenever possible to bring down the nuts in the columns you want them in.
Once you have collected most of the nuts you may have to switch the last few into the exit columns. You just have to switch the nuts one column over as there are exits beside most of the columns but try to avoid letting the nuts drop into the outside columns as it is harder to switch them from there.
The candies will constantly rotate through the portals and this can be a very long game, but it is possible to pass without boosters.

Nothing helps except hand switches. You’ll need 6 to 8 hand switches to complete this level.
I got stuck. An endless loop of moving pieces. I couldn't make another move. No end in sight. Had to force quit the level and lose my bot and life. Annoying.

What??? Agree, you just can't do this one without hand switches....and I don't have any....now what?? Blog says to try and not get the nuts to the outside, so how do you control that? I have played this level many times now and I think I've only been able to make a switch twice...there is no strategy here....you make a move where you think things line up and it goes crazy, which defeats the purpose of trying to line things up....I am really confused here...need some help, for sure!!!!

This level insults our intelligence. I’ve played it tediously, twice down to one more acorn needed. Other times have had to quit because of endless cycling. Makes me dizzy and feeling like a twit for continuing to try.

Tedious level, took almost 45 minutes of falling candies. was lucky to get some extra moves and could switch, but it was boring. the only good thing was 32 million points and 52 sugardrops.

After reading this I decided to reluctantly use my switches I stocked up the last weeks. After spawners and popcorn was gone I could switch some more nuts but finally and unfortunately I needed 6 switches. This is a very unfair level.
Sugardrops are fine, but what do you need points for? I don't know any contest where points are interesting.
I got down to one so must be doable. Just needed a few more switches. Also a coconut wheel useful for clearing spawners
Got it without handswitches! Used coconut wheel to get rid of the spawners. Meanwhile carefully looked for a possibility to switch the acorn above an exit, even when the exit was not cleared yet. I used all moves, but it worked for me. AS Holland.

What stress level is this? The sweets are almost 2 minutes going down on the board, when 1 ingredient is missing the movements end ... Aff
There are 4 exits. One in each popcorn column, but 2 in the middle popcorn column. You can do it without switches if you’re lucky. I needed only one. Throughout the game, look for moves to get the acorn to one of the exit columns. I cleared on 2nd try after figuring out the strategy. Good luck! Jerseygirl
If u ever need to quit, do so by switching to offline. Then close the whole game and not the quite button. U won't lose the bot.
Came up short 2 acorns, ran for about 5 mins. with color bombs but no more acorns on the board. Any way of making them appear? All the bottom turn things were spinning.

I only see one exit column. What am I missing?
MT, there are 4 exits, 1 below each spawner/popcorn (total of 3)and 1 center (2nd row up from the bottom). They are tough to see!!
I had to wait for the sugar drops x 2 to clear this level. They gave me the necessary hand switches to achieve this ( I used 4 in the end). If you don't use hand switches to change some of the the nuts into the columns with exit portals, then it will probably take a long time to clear this level - unless you are extremely lucky!

No hand switches and been down to one nut!!!!! I just got the sugar drops and claimed my THREE hand switches. Time to say goodbye to this sonofabitch level!!!
Pity today is not Thursday when the CB contest starts.
What helps is a cb on a color that there are NOT MANY OF. It will get the 3 others together giving a better chance to switch. Also gives more bombs so you can do it again.
As for how to get the ingredients, stripes shooting down. No particular column. Every column has them and every stripe gives a nut until you have enough.
Had no switches in stock and won on first try although the wheel did give a few more moves. dr
Agree with other bloggers....tedious, boring, unable to complete without hand switches. Been on this for far too long, watching cascade after cascade, looking for moves to switch the nuts into the right column but to no avail! Come on CC, please do something with this level! Why are there so many portals when it doesn’t help move the nuts into proper alignment with the exits????

Only played this level once and then came here. Glad I did.
Still had full bot, used extra CB to start. Matched 2 CB. Then the endless cascades started. I managed to line a few up, then used hand switches. I was down to one nut, and it never appeared. I got to spin for 5 extra moves and then even used 10 saved gold bars from the races. It just kept cascading and that crummy nut never showed up. I can't believe I have to sit through this again. Nauseating level in more ways than one.

Very difficult level. I played once without viewing the blog and had no clue how the board was working. Cookie's tips, and the comments here helped. I had to use up my hand switches, but got through it. Very frustrating level, I can't quite figure out the strategy how to do this without using up at least 4 hand switches (which is what I had left). Passed on my last move of my fourth attempt. Bottom outside portals take the nuts to opposite far side at the top. Second column from bottom outside goes to second column on the top opposite side, and so forth. Top left goes to bottom right. Middle bottom exit doesn't cascade. So switch nuts to two columns second from outside, top or bottom, or the centre. Don't trust cascades, they stop quick when nuts are in correct columns I found. Sneaky king.
I only had 2 hand shifts and after reading all the above I knew I could not waste them. I played very carefully watching every single nut possible move. On my 4th game with only three moves left, I had two nuts not lined up. Two hand shifts and hey presto game over with 3*

Each time I get down to the end of this level, it has only given me 19 nuts and I need 20. How is this possible to pass when there aren't enough of the required collectibles to complete it?
I finally just beat this horrible level after a few days of trying! I don't recommend using the coconut wheel booster because it just goes off at the wrong times and doesn't really make a difference given how easy cascades are on this level. It's important to get rid of the mixers and popcorns early so you have more time to work the board. I got to the end with three nuts left, and spun the wheel. I got 5 more moves, and in 4 moves I got rid of two nuts. That left me with one move and one nut! I used a hand switch (my only one!) to get it in an exit column and then one lollipop hammer to get a cascade going in the exit row on the opposite side of the board. So glad to be done with it!!
Finally passed after a day. What a horrrid horrid level. Worst bit was the endless cascades before you could make your move.
I worked out that using boosters made it all worse but I did use the CB to remove a minor colour every now and then as was suggested.
Patience and checking, making moves at the bottom of the board seemed to keep things under control a bit. I had two hand switches and I was determined to keep them till I KNEW I could complete the level. Phew!
It's got tougher over the recent sets of levels, that's for sure.

Cookie says exits on most columns......errrrr no, only 4 on the board to get rid of the nuts.
Now CC has gotten rid of giving you boosters to use when you wish and need them the most how on earth do you get any hand switches?!!
Now they give you timed boosters, most of which are useless in the game you are playing.
Like many others, I’m not paying for them and am sure this thinking has the opposite effect, players will go rather than pay.

So many color bombs but of no use! Every shot I looked for switching the nut into position but never available what’s the go? I don’t have a cache of hand switches available like the video !

Now I understand what everyone has been complaining about. Halfway into the game, I was in great shape, with nuts lining up to exits and dropping through nicely. With plenty of moves left I needed 9 more nuts. I had two on the board and 5 handswitches I could have used. But no matter how spectacular my Cascades, I never got more nuts. The FINAL move gave me 7 nuts but I was out of moves and it wasn't enough to win anyway. Finally, I agree with Ian. Time to quit. (I'm also a player who refuses to spend money to play.)

Someone posted great instructions as to how the portals work but I can't figure it out. Once things start falling they move too quickly.
I haven't had any nuts 'slide vertically' past a spawner to go into an exit.
I don't have switch hands and only one hammer.

This is exactly what I’m talking about I just got off a difficult level did an easy level right back onto an extremely difficult level not possible unless you have plenty of hand switches !! Just enough already!

Ridiculous game! You have no control over the board and just when you think you can switch a nut into an exit lane the cascade starts up again and goes on forever. Not only frustrating but boring too. I refuse to buy hand switches to win this game and you can’t earn them anymore now that they’ve done away with the candy drop.

Frustrating level, and (at least now in Aug. '19) it's not even marked as hard. I managed to get through using just one hand switch at the end. I found it impossible to control which column the nuts dropped into, as there was just too much movement. What I did find helpful from Cookie's comments was to avoid popping the popcorn for a few moves anyway, and several did fall under the popcorn in the middle column even though they didn't start in that column. Then I let loose with a colorbomb/wrap that cleared most of the popcorn and spawners. After that I looked before every move to see if any could be swapped into an exit column. I didn't worry about them falling through, that will happen with future cascades, just line them up any chance you get. And of course that takes a lot of luck, because with all the cascading you can't set it up so that you'll be able to swap them the right direction. So once I had a lucky enough board where I was able to swap them over the exits, I got down to one remaining nut and used a free switch, then got it out on my last move. Phew!

Definitely need some luck from the candy guards on this one! I keep getting down to one or two acorns and then I'm just stuck. I have tried all of these suggestions and some work for a while but in the end still stuck! On a fun positive side note after playing all these levels I just learned today that when I thought were apples are actually acorns LMAO! Anywho, please send me some luck because I'm about ready to lose my mind with this level.
Thank you Candy God's! Amazing how posting here really does seem to work sometimes... I posted at 6:41 p.m. and at exactly 7 I finally passed the level... it was the very next time I tried to play that I passed. Stick with it guys it can be done, I was even able to do this without any boosters. It should be relabeled a nightmarish level though as this was ridiculous. My best advice is like people said above try to the best of your ability to control where the acorns drop and make sure you keep them out of the end columns. It is really difficult to control it but if you can hold off on killing the spawners and making small changes to try and avoid the ridiculous Cascades it can't be done. Very time-consuming and tedious but good luck everyone.

Lol...takesv5 minutes to play one game. 2 nuts to go with 20 moves left. Still failed. Ouch. Cpuldnt switch them because board blows up any strategy. Rats! More luck? Who knows.
Got it done on 2nd try. The whole board continued to blow up. Only had to strategize to get out a few nuts. Phew

After reading the comments, I was really worried about this level. I passed it on about my fifth try. I only used one switch booster. It was fairly easy to switch on the board. I thought this level was fun.
Sorry, but I quite enjoyed this once I established where the nuts were going. I didn’t have any hand switches. Once you clear the spawners, pause and look at every nut to see if you can move one across one place to a column with a portal. Understanding that the nuts remain in that column and move to the mirror image column helped, otherwise it appears random. There are enough moves if you take your time and look at each nut. The lengthy cascades are annoying rather than useful in this game.

It took me 5 or 6 tries but I was determined to not use any boosters. Before you make a move be sure you know where the exits are and how the portals work. There are good descriptions in several posts here. Then after every move (almost all of which result in a cascade), look to see if you can move any ingredient into an exit row. If necessary, use swaps after you are sure you can complete the level. Otherwise, it's a waste. Good luck everyone and be patient.

No way to get nut out of outside column without hand switch!! So what to do about that !
My board does not look anything like hers at all, all my apples are in columns without exits and even cascades to NOT put them in the right columns. Also, her video does not show apples at all, this is so awful! Terrible video if not realistic. I got down to 2 apples but only had one hand switch. I really with the videos were more accurate PS I will never spend a dine on dumb as levels like this that deliberately want you to buy boosters, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!! Posting for dumb ass luck!

Well what a complete and utter waste of time. I got down to 2 or 3 nuts loads of times, with about 17 moves left and not one of them left me with a swap to put the nut in the correct column. And the ridiculous cascades that go on forever but achieve nothing at all. Dreadful, dreadful level. I have just finished it (eventually) but that was only after King decided to let me pass. Such a fix, this level has really annoyed me. Load of rubbish!!

I was going to say it's really difficult but it's not. Just takes a lot of focus and concentration. Every time the cascades stop look at every nut to see if you can swap any of them to get next to exits. I got it after about 5 tries so it is possible and I used one swap hand that I had.
