Hints and tips showing how to pass level 5042 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 5042 Candy Crush Saga is an orders level, you have to collect the two kinds of chocolate to complete the level. There is a definite strategy to passing this level and this all revolves around collecting the keys on the left.
A double colourbomb combo at the start of the level will unlock the locked cells on the bottom left if you can get this combo straight away. However you don't need to make this combo, you just need to make stripes to hit the squares indicated in the image below. This will release the yellow keys and they will match to unlock the locked cells.
As you can see you need to unlock the top key and clear the blocker, this will match the keys on the left and leave one key to drop down onto the conveyor. Detonate the yellow stripe to unlock the final key and this will match with the remaining two along the bottom of the board. All this can be done in any order to unlock the licorice and release the lucky candies from the dispensers near the bottom of the board.
Once the lucky candies are on the board they will give you the chocolate you need, you don't need to allow the chocolate to grow as there will be plenty of lucky candies dropping from the dispensers. Clear the chocolate and change the lucky candies as they drop from the dispensers.

Completed this week challenge from 5015 to 5045...
Now same wait for next week
#5045 was tough, needed 1 hand switch to get the last jelly under the licorice dispenser. Fortunate to still have full "space dash", videos, etc., so got thru these episodes fairly easily. Good luck everyone, til next Wednesday...

Super easy level. 16 moves to spare, but I started with a double color bomb. AND I just noticed that the piggy bank now holds 45 gold bars when it is full instead of the 30 it has been for a while. I like this change!
Woah! And now the candy drops are giving real boosters again, too! Not just timed boosters. I like this change, too! (I think they are listening to our complaints!)
I’m still getting timed boosters. The most I got for the sugar drops was 2 lollipop hammers. You’re lucky, High Achiever!

High achiever , why does it matter about the gold bars in the Piggy Bank - do you actually pay money and BUY boosters, rather than use your skill to get through the levels?!!
Free gold bars are not appearing as part of building up sugar drops anymore - not on my games anyway! I suppose this is a move by King to try and get people to buy them via the Piggy bank.
Interesting - I didn't get the keys - but still managed to complete the level! I used the Tick booster and that turned into enough chocolate to do it.

WTF i started with 2 side by side color bombs and it didn't hit a key that's now stuck and i hit with stripe but didn't go thru the locked box!!
I am shocked how few comments there are for this level, plus half are about gold bars or a different level. I digress. This level is a monster and I don't know why it's not classified as nightmarishly hard. I played many many times. The double color bomb is tricky. It doesn't knock out the very bottom yellow key and no amount of stripes will take it out. It's protected. Also unless you can get rid of the crystal blocker next to it, the 3 yellows won't line up. I only passed it because miracle of miracles I was able to get a second color bomb combo. Then you have to have enough moves to let the chocolate grow, but also moves to take the chocolate out. Bite me! This was super hard.

They must be lying or game has changed. Using 2 cb leaves you with a blocked key with no way to collect it.
No amount of combos are unlocking the yellow keys I can clear the boxes underneath no problem I wasted my 2 cb s and left me a single yellow key that was stuck at the bottom is this a glitch on my android device???
I read Cookie's advice and, like magic, next go I had a double colour bomb! BUT it left one yellow key in the left section which I couldn't get at with any combo - and, naturally, I didn't have any hammers left . . . Back to the drawing board!

I have found you need to unlock the highlighted squares in order starting from the top or I’m left with not enough yellow keys to make matches. Then I’m not left with enough moves to make the chocolate. Lucky board please.

You need to read how to het thr keys not just go eilly nilly on the board. This is a great level.

no way there's enough moves for this level! And don't even think about using a color bomb because whenever I use one I end up with a key that can't be hit so there's no way to win. I've gone through multiple games where I did not get one stripe let alone stripes and wraps right next to the chocolate. If I do manage to get the keys by that time I've got maybe five moves left to get all the chocolate,

There are not enough moves to get the chocolate once you hit all the keys. Also there aren't the chocolates needed when they do form.
I thought 5040 and 5041 where impossible but this one was even worse. Cookie's tips took me nowhere near beating the level so I followed a different strategy, I was able to create two colourbomb combos in a row leaving me enough moves to win. As other players have noticed, one colourbomb combo is not enough as it leaves a yellow key that can only be destroyed by a 2nd colourbomb combo or by a hammer if you are lucky to have one. Moving on to the next nightmare. Good luck!

Its just a level, don’t waist my time. Don’t understand this level at all. Complete different like the walkthrough. Chaotic.in this year of 2022 no one understand this level, so players who end up and delete this game. Good work cc. Lost my interest. Getting free boosters without playing while I play more organize and better games and.. more fun to play instead of the bullshitt games of cc.
