Hints and tips showing how to pass level 5340 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie. Since the developers are releasing 45 or more levels each week I will not be able to write tips for every level. I will post videos and write tips where I think they are needed but otherwise please feel free to give your tips in the comments.
Tips: Level 5340 is a normal jelly level and there is jelly over the whole board so everything has to be cleared to complete the level. The fishing float in the middle is quite useful if you hit it with combos as the fish will always target the squares with jelly. The best combos to use are stripe/wrap combos so look for chances to make these as much as possible. A colourbomb combo is also useful, especially a colourbomb/wrap combo. As with all jelly levels you are going to need as many special candies and combos as you can to blast the board until it is complete.

Our target is 550000 and not 400000
for me is also 550000, which is much harder than just 400000 :(((
What worked for me was not killing not even a single bomb with anything other than a colour bomb (and even that wasn't enough for the score needed but then I just had to make about 4 or 5 other bombs, which was terrible and took many tries)
As far as I can tell, this level is impossible.
There is no passing this level
Please give us a heads up as to what we need to do. I clear all the bombs and make combos, but no where near even the 400,000 😫
Why is this not classified as a Nightmarish Hard Level?
It should be rated "Super Hard" or "Nightmarish" as it is nearly impossible to accumulate the 550,000 points needed to pass it, especially with the parsimonious payout King has designed it to accrue. This level is made to force players to squander their saved boosters and gold bars. Do note, the only way to accrue even half of the needed points is to match colorbombs against time bombs whenever possible. This level needs to be redeveloped.
The only way I was able to clear this level was to win 15 extra moves twice and make combo stripe wraps with cascades to crawl above 550,000. WTF HARD!!!

I have been playing this all morning. When I started there were no comments. I cannot beat this level no matter what I do. A couple times I thought I was close and paid for extra moves but was only awarded a fish, then a wrap. I was t even awarded and extra turns. Last time I was close again and on my last move at zero there was a color-bomb so I decided to pay for extra moves. Well it gave me extra moves but took the color bomb that was there!! That was so unfair! Without the color bomb those extra moves were a waste. I would not have paid for extra moves had there not been a color bomb sitting there. So now King is stealing our money! Definitely is a nightmare level and should be listed as such. I have thrown everything at it am getting nowhere

The trick to getting enough points is to ONLY destroy ALL the bombs by matching the color of the bombs with a colorbomb. Work on the right and left columns to get new colorbombs to drop from the dispensers. It took me 6 or 8 tries to win this level.
It seems if you destroy a bomb by any other means than a colorbomb, you won't be able score enough points to reach the goal. No new bombs are dispensed. Don't waste any gold bars buying extra moves if you've already destroyed any bombs by any other means than a colorbomb.
Got through the new levels up to this one really quickly this morning - but am well and truly stuck here! Not getting close right now. Understand you have to clear the columns on the left and right to bring down more CBs, butbam still falling short.
David B, you are correct. After reading your advice I passed first time.
It took me about 7 tries to pass this. It cost me 2 hands, one hammer and 7 gold bars to spin to get additional moves. You will need a lot of color bombs to pass it. I suggest you go first for a free spin to begin with to get a color bomb by watching a video. Every color bomb will help. I think I used about 10 color bombs to pass this. Some of them drop from the color bomb dispenser on the top corners, but they don't drop all the time.

Dave B & Rick are right, got it after reading their tips. As Dave said, hit the bombs with a single CB and make moves left & right to hopefully get more CB's to drop. CB/CB combo is not a wise 1st move. I had full "space dash" & added a CB, used the CB's individually, lucky to watch a "video" & spun for 15 extra moves, happily moving on...good luck everyone!
Finally made it. Started with a CB booster and restarted the level until there were at least 8 bombs of one colour that could be matched with the CB. That gives you 300k+ points for the 1st move.
After that cleared the other bombs with CB coming from the spawners and still needed a spin for 5 extra moves and 7 gold bars for another spin. That did it.

Really hard level. I've tried everything suggested above but to no avail. Inly 25 more moves from the wheel would help, but I don't have it yet. It would be easier if more time bombs could be released from the dispenser :(

I can get to 450,000 but not beyond that. No new bombs will drop no matter what I do. How do you get more bombs?

Rolf, I did what you suggested. I had to use 26 gold bars for extra moves in order to get the points. This is after playing for hours and using over 50 lives on this level. Thank you

It's pretty obvious that this level is meant to slow us down. It will be achieved only on that day where we will have a very lucky board.
I doubt King will even bother to make it easier, either by lowering the score, or giving more tombs through the dispenser.

took every thing i had.10 then 16 extra moves, 14 hands, 3 stripers. worst level ever for me. the change to 550,000 is impossible to do without lots boosters. makes me think seriously about quitting. these levels are no fun to do !!!!

Interesting. Like most of you I was struggling making even 400,000 points on this one. Came in here to get tips. Read the comments. Watched the video. Thought to myself that I’m doing everything that was suggested so it’s just going to be one of those frustrating boards! Went back to the game and passed it in two moves!!, I had done what I did this time many times before. Hit one of the bomb colours with a colour bomb got over 300,000. Hit another bomb colour with the second colour bomb and got to almost 700,000! On previous attempts at doing that very thing I barely made 300,000. How so??
My highest score is not quite 400k, with extra moves. Nowhere near the target. I start with one colorbomb, but most times I can't get enough to drop to get the bombs before they explode.

I too was struggling with this as it is relatively easy to get 400k, but once the bombs are gone, its difficult to score. However, you now just have to get 430k, and I did it with 16 moves left. So it's gone from horrendous to easy.

Well I checked back and my target is now 600,000. I used about 90 gold bars to get extra moves to crack this game at 550,000. Can only assume that CC wants to rid us of our ill gotten gains which is why they have stopped all the other little warmers. Ah well fun while it lasted and have never paid a penny for it. BTW 5350 is another impossible level which may sound the end for me
Very frustrating level... Exhausted all my color bomb boosters and gold bars for extra moves... in vain.... Now getting hugely bored with this level... Losing interest... Will there be any lucky board ?

When playing this morning, my target was changed to 430,000, passed on first try. Good luck everyone.
I got nowhere yesterday but woke up today and my target was reduced, so I’m sure my passing today had a lot to do with that. Also, As Dave B, Rolf and some others said you will get no new bombs or real ability to get points once you have detonated the bombs. So you should only use a colorbomb to detonate bombs. The best trick is as Rolf said, to keep restarting until you have about 8 bombs of the same color. Hit those with the colorbomb which will give you most of your points. Hit any extra bombs only with a color bomb. Then like Dave said make moves on the left and right to try to get color bombs from the dispenser and match them with any bombs. Once all bombs are gone then match the color bombs with wraps, or stripes if no wraps. You won’t get any more bombs after the first batch so it isn’t worth paying for extra moves etc at the end to try for them. I wasted quite a bit trying that! It’s only worth trying for extra moves if you are almost at the target (like 1000 points away or less) and just want to complete the level. But even then you might not get enough points so it’s a risk. Several times I was close and just paid the 10 coins to have a few extra moves but hardly received any points.
I’ve had special candies in every move...no luck. Closest I get is 30,000 points. This is not a player problem...it’s an unrealistic point value earn in order to win. You NEED to change something! Moves or score... CHANGE something!
Thank goodness they lowered the goal to 430,000 points! Still trying and very difficult at that amount but at least it is possible now!
Yay, down to 430000 today. But I still restarted until at least six timed bombs were of the same color. And as always, my extra color bombs were used on timed bombs only.
I also started the level with a full bot, and an extra color bombs, so I don't know if I could have finished this level otherwise.

If your device shows 550000 then switch your device off and leave it for 5 mins, then switch it back on then it was only 430000. Also if you are reading this, when you get to 5362 I used a double colour bomb which was wrong as you can't explode the yellow candies as it causes a glitch and black swirls go on and on and you have to abandon game. Go to the blogspot on 5362 as there is a definite procedure to complete the game.
I finished this on my first attempt with a full bot booster, but had to spin extra moves, and still barely got the points. As with all points levels, the tip to collect countdown bombs with color bombs matching the color of a multiple bomb color. That makes the score jump, but you need to not only collect all the countdown bombs using color bombs, but you have to form additional color bombs to reach the new higher score required. This level is still not rated as hard, which is ridiculous. It may take multiple attempts with NO incoming boosters (it seems that bot booster color bombs don't make the score jump as much as ones you form do, but that could just be my impression or experience, and not factual). I do know that this is a very difficult level, but not impossible. Good luck everyone, thank you for the tips, and happy crushing!
Crazy! Tried for 2 days, threw all boosters at it. Gave up and played with No boosters and beat it with 12 moves remaining
I started with a full bot.
I needed 480,000 points & lost the 1st game after combining 2 color bombs to start the game.
I came here & read the helpful comments. I went back & used 1 color bomb to take out 6 bombs of the same color. That
got me over 200,000 points. I used other color bombs to take out the remaining bombs but still needed points.
I was able to make stripes which got me to the points needed.

Not sure what happened here but I cleared all of the bombs with colour bombs and didn't have enough score . . .got 5 colour bombs and no more bombs dropped.
Today it's rated as "nightmare hard", 48k points & 20 moves, tried it again for the heck of it, CB's hitting bombs are the key, need plenty of them!
FOLLOW DAVEB'S ADVICES (11. Sept/8h48) AND EVERYTHING IS GOOD. If you have/use too many boosters, you will probably loose. But if you hit ALL bombs ONLY with CBs, you will win (and CBs are also falling from dispenser from time to time, don't worry). Failed first try, but second try won with 510K and still 5 moves left.
And MANY THANKS to Cookie and her help over all the years - you are the best! I understand your decision and hope you will still help us on very difficult levels.
But there are no new bombs falling down. I hit all the existing with CB but was way too less. Not even close
Twice I camped to 379 and 385...with 5 moves left..no bombs dropped to get the score. I buy 5 more moves and no bombs drop.
Seems there is a glitch. Total score is 400 on my mobile device.
Any advice?

My target was 430000 and by making moves down the left and right sides I was able to get enough color bombs from the dispensers to get the needed score my first try.

To make matters worse my board keeps reshuffling so bombs end up on the center and can't get around to hitting them with bombs.
Not enough bombs are dropping to make 430,000. It sucks when you can't buy extra moves on a prepaid phone.
It's for 440k now. I just beat it pretty easily with free boosters. It is spooky hat week and when it's not there is usually build a bot. Everyone knows you can play OLD LEVELS to get that right? 606 is great. It is the 1st frog level. 3 move win. Replay over and over 8 or so times then go back to your current game. If you use the color bombs separately it shouldn't take too many times before you win. I still had to play about 5x but it wasn't terrible with the help. Without boosters a nightmare

Killed all bombs with sugar bombs but not high enough score and no more bombs came so impossible!!! Time to quit
Yup play close to the right and left side and watch as the colour bombs are released from dispensers on the top left&right. Use only colour bombs to clear the bombs. Don’t worry about any other blockers or liquorice they are just a distraction.
Start with a color bomb and immediately kill the bombs with the most colors. Then wait to you get the other bombs and kill the next highest number of bombs....etc. I did it on the first try.
Secret to this level are the colour bombs, if possible switch your first colour bomb with a colour that has the most timed bombs, then make as many colour bombs as possible but don't use them unless you gave another time bomb that is close to detonating, at the end of the game the colourbombs you have accumulated will detonate abd take you over the score needed, I did this on my second attempt and got close to suger stars.

After wasting gold coin to finally win after multiple game extensions, I came here to read what I was doing wrong. I tried again, after passing by buying extensions, and got it in a single try by using color bombs as the only way to explode the timed bombs. Should have read this first and saved my gold!

I’m not sure what’s going on. My level 5340 isn’t remotely what the video and comments show. I have a level that has jelly, chocolate and orange candies to clear. No bombs and it isn’t a points level. I’ve looked on at least 6 blogs including kings community and they all show the same level you show here. Why is mine completely different??
5340 is NOT the same as the video. Whoever is in charge of posting the tips video is not doing a very good job. With that being said, 5340 is impossible and not even listed as a "Hard"!evel. Creators of King are doing their best at trying to squeeze players for money. NOT HAPPENING, have not spent a single penny nor would I. I wish other players who do pay for boosters would stop so King can go out of business.
