Hints and tips for level 979 Candy Crush Saga
Keep the chocolate under control. The more the chocolate covers the board the less chance you will have to make special candies and combos and the less points you will score.
Watch the conveyor and match the wraps there for the points. If you can switch two wraps together you may get more points too.
Always be on the lookout for colour bomb patterns as this is what will give you the points.

Hints and tips for level 978 Candy Crush Saga
There are six colours on the board so making special candies and combos is not easy. Take your time and look at the whole board before every move and watch the candies on the conveyor as that will help a lot with making special candies and getting them together.
The mist difficult jellies are the ones surrounding the chocolate spawners, but they are only single layer so once cleared you can forget them.
Collect the keys to unlock the colour bomb in the middle, but you will have to hit it with a stripe to detonate it and you can't control which colour it will clear, so while it will help a bit, it isn't so important.
Keep the chocolate under control and play slowly and carefully and you should be able to clear level 978 without too many lives lost.

Hints and tips for level 977 Candy Crush Saga
You don't need to worry too much about the bombs on level 977, they have the same countdown as the number of moves, so if they explode you failed anyway! 
Having said that, the stripe in the middle will take care of them at some stage.
The conveyors move down the left side of the board and up the right, in a continuous loop so not too confusing.
Don't move the stripe out of position, keep it to destroy the bombs as they are difficult otherwise and there is jelly under them which needs clearing.
