Level 1972 is all about luck. The temptation is to try to clear the spawners by making matches next to them, this is unlikely to work.
What you should do is make matches in the outside columns to get the mystery candies to drop, they only drop from the outside so you need to make space for them to drop. Then see what you get from the mystery candies. Stripe/wrap combos, colour bomb/wrap combos and any other combos you can make can be used to smash the spawners until they explode. If you don't have a combo and need to make normal matches make them at the bottom of the board and usually the cascades will hit the higher spawners for you.
If you get good things from the mystery candies you should be able to pass, but if you only get bad stuff you don't have much of a chance.

Ignore the jelly in the side columns and work on clearing the cake and making colour bombs.
If you can make a colour bomb/stripe combo early in the game before too much cream is covering the jelly this should clear most of the jelly from the sides as well as hitting the cake bomb a few times.
If you get a chance to clear the jelly next to the spawners at any time take it as this will mean it won't get hidden by cream so quickly.
Another colour bomb/stripe combo is ideal, but stripe/wraps will also work.
If you are struggling with level 1971 you may find a jelly fish booster helpful

Basically you have to clear the board of all the chocolate and licorice so the ingredients can get to the exits, but you also have to grow the popcorns that are stopping the ingredients from falling through into the playing area.
There is no need to clear all the popcorns, just the ones in the way, but you may as well clear them all and they are likely to be cleared as you make the combos needed.
Wrapped candies are best for growing popcorn, switch with a stripe if they are not close enough to hit them, or switch with a colour bomb for even more destruction.
Once you get the ingredients post the popcorns they will go to the top of the board in the middle. You DON'T want to let them land on the conveyor! If they get onto the conveyor and are taken away from the exit columns you will have to wait until they come around and back to the middle again and you may not have enough moves to do that. So make sure that when you make a move to get the ingredients from the top that it will take them past the conveyor.
Red candies have been added to the mix since the video was made, which means it isn't so easy to make the combos needed, but the strategy is the same.
