Rainbow Candy

From level 306 in Candy Crush Saga you will encounter the colour changing candies (changelings!)
You may have seen them earlier when mystery candies transform.
But this is where they become a real part of the game.
The main thing to remember is that they only change between 2 colours, so you can plan your moves ahead once you see which two colours they are changing to.
Here is a video which shows how they change.
Watch the candies with the rainbow flashing over them between moves, these are the ones which will change.

I haven't yet worked out if there is any particular colour that each colour alternates with, but I am watching to see if that is the case.
Watch the rainbow candies for the first couple of moves to see the colours, then you just need to plan 2 moves ahead.
Not too bad once you get the hang of it!
Some people find the colour changing candies in Candy Crush Saga a problem because of the flashing.
If they bother you too much you can try adjusting the colour or brightness of your monitor until the rainbow candies are more easy on the eye.

Just started 306. God, they are annoying little buggers. I love playing very fast, I am even frustrated that you can't move candies while they are settling, like you can in other games. And now I have to stop after every move. Me not happy. :(

migraine!

Don't play this one on your phone. It's very difficult to predict the color changes. Got it the first try on the computer.

This is the first level I sense a seizure coming on.. my head isn't right for this level

The changing colors might be the reason I stop playing Candy Crush Saga. Like others have commented, the flashing rainbows give me a headache. Is this how they are on every level?

Anonymous said...

I hate the rainbow candy, make me headache. :(

Anonymous said...

Yep, headache (literally) for me too. Played it twice and then googled and found this blog. Probably won't play it again.

Anonymous said...

makes me sick and gives me a headache. This may be the end for me.

Oh dear ... I cannot play this game any more and I was hoping to play every level until the end , but these changing candies are making my eyes hurt and giving me an headache , so I only made it to level 305, gutted .

I was not expecting a cure for this addiction to be built-in, but there it is, too bad it wasn't earlier in the game.

The rainbow wipes make me nauseous and the flickering each move is like shock/aversion therapy.

With the care they take to apply psychology to make these games as addictive and lucrative as possible, I can't help but think that this is conscientious sabotage by a disgruntled employee. Thank you, disgruntled employee, for using your psychology degree in such an ethical manner for a change.

I am glad for this level because it will hopefully put an end to my Candy Crush addiction. I am not one to get headaches or stomach aches but this level has given me both. I just can't handle the swirling rainbows. Bye bye Candy Crush.

Thought you guys were exaggerating, but I feel really dizzy after playing (and winning) this episode and feel a headache coming on. Think I'll stop playing this game for good-- so much time and money wasted, but oh well.

When I close my eyes, I can see those awful color-changing candies. Not cool.

So upset, i have loved this game but have to stop playing it at level 307. Never had a migraine but got one now after only five minutes on this level, I also feel sick and disorientated. Such a shame, why would they do this?

Anonymous said...

I too will be giving up candy crush now, the flashing of the candies are making me feel quite ill

Unknown said...

They need to fix the rainbow candy. I feel sick and can't play. :(

I have been playing on my iphone 4, level 306. Can I start playing through facebook on my iphone, as I heard it was easier to go thrugh FB. Will I loose my level, don't really want to start over. Also, is there any way to back up my progress on my iphone. I'm not great at this technical stuff, sorry, but I do need some help. Thank you.

2 more will be leaving, sadly, both my mother and I. We love the game, the competition and can endure frustration but physical illness is just not worth it. Bad move on the part of the developers. As a game developer, I'm a little shocked that "King" would use something in their game that could potentially envoke a seizure. No need to go there, is there? Consider the sight impaired and physically impaired player who are enjoying the game. Create an alternate board (s)

-sugar crushed.

I won't be playing Candy Crush anymore either. The changing colors cured my addiction to the game. Very disappointed.

anonymous said...

I too will not be playing any more. Not worth risking a headache for. Very disappointed! Anonymous

I am going to have to stop playing now...the changing colors give me a migraine...this comment thread confirms i'm not the only one suffering this predicament. I loved you and will miss you candy crush !!! If this problem gets fixed, candy crush guys let us know !!!

Anonymous said...

Thank goodness I am not alone! Level 307 is literally causing my vision to blur and making me feel seasick. What idiot came up with the idea of these flashing rainbows?

Anonymous said...

Got to level 313 which is a timed round but just can't take it any more. The pressure and the nausea was not a good combination. There goes that addiction.

Anonymous said...

Glad that so many people share the same feelings and symptoms as myself. Really can't go on and have to quit at level 306.

Anonymous said...

Nope, rainbow flashy-things are not fun at all! King really needs to tone them down.

MELISSA said...

Yeah, just finished level 307 and feel like I'm going to vomit. That's it for me. I got sick yesterday when I tried it, but I thought I would give it one more try. Feel very dizzy and almost disoriented. Don't know why they would do that. They really need to get those out of there.

Anonymous said...

Add me to the list of people who have to quit because of the flashing rainbows. Headaches, dizziness, blurred vision. No way can I do this. Sad, because I wanted to play to the end but I guess this is one way to cure the addiction.

Judy Allen said...

read all the way to the end, checking the dates. hoping to find it had been changed. I'm done.

Anonymous said...

Finally a cure for my Candy crush addiction, Level 309! The changing rainbow gives me the worst migraine! So long Candy Crush! King you need to fix this!

Anonymous said...

I guess I am done too. My eyes are toast!!!

Anonymous said...

How many levels do these horrid flashing things go on please? Don't see the point of them other than just to really annoy everyone.

Anonymous said...

I thought they were going to fix this, but nope they haven't. Bye bye Candy Crush, our relationship is finally over now!

Anonymous said...

I've been playing Candy Crush since December and tonight I made it to this level; sadly, this will be the last time I play Candy Crush unless King decides to get rid of the flashing rainbow candies. After one shot at level 306, I have a killer headache and I can feel a seizure coming on. I am not even a person who gets headaches or seizures frequently.

Unknown said...

I too have to stop playing. The rainbow things make me dizzy, make my eyes hurt, and give me a headache. Can't believe that they wouldn't test this out beforehand. Nevertheless, it officially ended my candy crush addiction. I will be deleting the app from my phone.

Anonymous said...

Made it to 310, but I just can't take it anymore with these flashing rainbows, it's like a torture. So dizzy, disoriented, and a splitting headache. They could change candy colors easily without all that constant rainbow windshield wiper nonsense. Those rainbows are just sickening! I have no migraine or seizure history either, never felt like this before. You have to wonder what the developers were thinking!

Chris Fugue said...

Wow, that was a surprise... I've enjoyed every level so far but 306 got me. I only tried it twice and I just can't keep playing it. It makes me feel nauseous. Thank you, King, for curing my Candy Crush addiction.

Anonymous said...

So awful! I had hoped that as I scrolled to the bottom of the comments that I would find that at a certain level the flashing candies stopped. But no. Cant enjoy it when the flashing is so annoying. I agree with the thought that an angry employee created this level, just to get people to stop playing. Because, after all...if you have made it to level 305- obviously you have spent money on this...and obviously King would want to keep a paying customer...had to be sabotage on an employee's part. But, my addiction is cured at least. I will go back to Scrabble!

Anonymous said...

Another unsatisfied customer. This rainbow thing is making me nauseous. I got through level 306, but 307 is worse. I'm done - adios, Candy Crush!

Anonymous said...

I did find the rainbow candies disconcerting at first but if you stick with it you get use to them pretty quickly. Not really a problem.

Anon said...

Feeling very sick playing these levels. Bye C C!

Anonymous said...

Done!

Anonymous said...

I'm done... Just got a migraine and got sick. This was a stupid thing to do... Cost you a lot of paying customers. It would be easier just to fix the problem wouldn't you think?

Anonymous said...

The flashing rainbows are incredibly annoying, but after these first few levels of rainbows, they are toned down quite a bit. You'll see less and less of them after the initial few levels. Is it possible King actually listened to people's complaints this time? The silly thing is, they could have color changing candies, it's the obnoxious flashing that is so unnecessary. How about just a thin curved rainbow, non-flashing, imposed on the candy squares?

Anonymous said...

Hate the rainbows. I'm out!

Anonymous said...

I am on 306 and have spent zero dollars on candy crush but have lost all motivation to play on. No psysical ailments but I find the rainbows VERY distracting and annoying. Prob done with the game now..too bad.
Also I hate Otis

Anonymous said...

I am no longer going to play this game- the rainbows give me a big headache. Apparently Candy crush does want anyone to play after level 306

Unknown said...

Spent a year playing this game every day, to find on level 306 it makes me feel sick, dizzy and nauseous with the flashing rainbows and changing candies. Cant believe I have got to stop playing !!!! How can King allow this to happen???

Anonymous said...

Pretty obnoxios.
King is spending a fortune advertising Candy Crush Soda. They want people to make the move from Saga to Soda.
This is their way of closing down Saga without actually closing it down.
Maybe?

Anonymous said...

This level is dumb! It just seems pointless there aren't enough colours to crush and there seems no chance of succeeding. Yes the rainbow colours would be ok if succeeding seemed feasible. Adding in colour bombs etc doesn't make a difference. Stupid level and it sounds like it get worse. Lost interest.

Anonymous said...

Wow. I see I am not the only one who got to this page looking for a way to turn off these horribly painful candies. I agree with the others; Level 306 is the end of my Candy Crush addiction.

Anonymous said...

Another one leaves Candy Crush at level 306! Dizzy, sick and headache

KB said...

Will be quitting this game because of the rainbow headaches. So sad. I can't believe King hasn't listened to the many for whom the rainbows cause a problem :(. #quittingcandycrush:rainbowmigraine

Anonymous said...

stopped playing. what a ridiculous move creatively and in terms of design to come up with the "changelings" theme. whoever thought of it must be sacked.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone from the company responded. I can't believe how sick I am to my stomach with the flashing!

Anonymous said...

Have to stop playing at 307 level as I suffer from migraines and no game is worth suffering through a migraine. 👿👿👿👿

Red dragon said...

Have got to level 307 without payment but these rainbow things are the end of my CC days. What an idiotic and unnecessary addition to the game Bye bye

Unknown said...

Stopped at 306... Hate the rainbows...

Cathy said...

I have spent countless hours on this game and think they have run out of ideas so they set this up to stall or make people play their other games...which I WILL never do again! Ty candfy crush creators, I will never waste my time or money on level games again! Especially ones created by this company! Going to take some Gravol now :(

Anonymous said...

Yup, same here, I feel relieved it's not just me but my god, how could they stick with this format for all these years?

The first time I played 306 it was late at night and I blamed the nausea on being over tired. Tired again the next morning, and then in the afternoon... I just can't take it! After playing for a minute or two I feel sick to my stomach, then when I look away from my iPad my eyes are jumping all over the place. Horrible!

This is where I stop candy crush. The rainbows make me so sick. Big headache literally . So sad....

Was getting a headache playing this level so Googled and found this page. People have been complaining about these awful flashing rainbows for over 2 years so why haven't they done something about it? End of the road for me, I'm afraid.

They have ZERO concern for human health and welfare as a corporate entity (customer svc is very kind and does what it can). King has grown into a multi-billion $$$ gaming entity through greedy and intentionally dishonest practices on all their games. One good thing for affected customers who suffer migraines and seizures: due to the lack of warning on King's part and King's negligence in refusing to change these candies which pose an obvious health hazard (I am qualified by education and years of practice in bio-sciences to make that assertion) King has opened themselves to class action litigation (and hopefully stern regulation measures since this game is rated as safe for children who are helpless to protect themselves against the life threatening dangers of which King has been repeatedly been made aware). King appears to believe they can literally KILL US AND OUR CHILDREN because they are a rich corporation. Their practices used to annoy me, now I see they have become an actual danger to players. Please contact your Congressperson, Senator and the President (whatever your politics they are bound to help you) then do so again after the election. If one innocent child's life is saved it's well worth it. They WILL respect human life and health or they will lose their American players!

Thank you for your helpful blog. To all who have suffered, as you come to this page seeking a solution I strongly encourage you to not quit but to get even by reporting your experience to the CDC, your gov't representatives and even Google, which may actually want to separate itself from this corrupt King Corporation despite what is no doubt a lucrative relationship. "Just don't play" is not an acceptable answer when a known health issue of this magnitude exists and has not been addressed at the corporate level for years. At that point generic "play at your own risk" coverage for King no longer applies and King is required to make every reasonable effort to fix a possibly life threatening danger they have negligently created and been duly made aware of. So please don't just quit, get even with King's for their practices and maybe even save a life in the process.

Still not convinced? Picture this. A pre-teen child gets home from school an hour before Mom is due home from work. Big brother is snoozing upstairs. The child grabs a snack then finally beats level 305 and progresses to 306 on Candy Crush. Less than an hour later Mom comes in the door, unlocked again! She calls to the kids in the unnatural silence then steps into the TV room. Her "baby" is on the floor in an unnatural twisted position near a spilt glass of milk, ashen hued and cool to the touch. She cannot find a pulse. The cheery sounds of Candy Crush Saga play eerily in the stillness soon shattered by her soul rending scream.

King Corporation continues to rake in the money, unconcerned.

I just played my first level with the flashing and my eyes feel weird and I am very sad to have to give up Candy Crush. Is there a way to start over from the beginning?

Unknown said...

Having to stop playing because of rainbows too. Tried about 15 times but feel dizzy/sick.......very annoying!!!!

2019 and the flashing rainbows are still out there despite this problem. As soon as I saw them i thought these hurt my eyes. You’d think they would not want bad publicity like this but I guess not.

Unknown said...

Huge migraine and feeling nausea after playing this level won't be playing again.

Can Candy Crush creators please change the flashing rainbows? I suffer from vertigo and can't play this game now as a result - makes me so dizzy and sick!!! :(

Same as all the above comments...can't continue playing until they remove the infuriating rainbows. 'Swipe the stress away' indeed! Ugh, my eyes....
