Tips for level 788 Candy Crush Saga
Level 788 is an orders level and you need to collect 5 stripe / stripe combos, ie: Match 2 striped candies together 5 times in 38 moves.
That may sound easy to players who are this far in the game, but you are hampered by locked candies which limit your moves at the start and mystery candies which as often as not turn into something nasty when matched, like chocolate or short countdown bombs and other problems.
Start looking for stripes from the first move, don't waste moves trying to unlock the mystery candies unless you have no choice.
Use any colour bombs to unlock the mysteries and make it easier to make your stripes.
Once you have a stripe look above it to make another so you can just drop them down together and switch them.

Making five stripe on stripe don't seem much but what it seems to be easy, isn't what it seem! This level is a tough one! Many of the mystery candies will be wrapped ones which you should get rid of immediately or it will explode away the wrapped candy you made so far. With careful planning and a little luck, this level is doable before slipping into madness...
Hard to do when game keeps freezing half way through. Please fix this issue King. Very frustrating.
it's beyond ridiculous... Many, many times I've had 1 or 2 combos left with about 20 moves left, just to have the board freeze on me. Ugghhhh!!!!
Mine just froze now FOR THE 4TH TIME IN A ROW!!!! Hopeless level.
Keeps freezing on me too. I actually got all the combos, and then it froze. Please fix.
Yep, keeps freezing up on me too... and always when I have 1 or 2 combos left to explode w/ plenty of moves on the board to complete the level. Annoying, particularly considering that the game needs to be refreshed, and any extra lives on queue sent by friends disappear when reloading the game. C'mon, King: Fix this already! This is ridiculously frustrating, considering it's happened about 10 times now.
Ridiculous. I hope someone at King monitors these comments. The bugs on this level need to be fixed!
also had troubles that the image froze and I could start all over again. But just now, in my 20th attempt, with the help of 1 hammer, made it. It was a fun level though, challenging as it should be, when we've come this far.
I completed this level on the second attempt - only for the board to freeze!!! Soooooooo very annoying. Not a fair game if this aspect is in-built!
Games keeps freezing and you have to exit thus loosing a life ,such a fun level too , doesn't seem like a hard level but will we ever get to know ,will we ever be able to finish the level without it freezing ....
This lvl has frozen to me as well - twice upon making all combos required..
The game freezes every time l get down to needing to make 2 combos.
I did too! I just beat the level and it froze on me, this is so frustrating!

Game froze up on me twice today.
I thought it was my computer causing the freezes until I came here to read! OK King...I don't know how long this has been going on, but the first comment on freezing was made 11 days ago and it's still bad.
Yeah, this is ridiculous! Just beat with one move to spare and it froze! There's a yellow candy just pulsing mockingly at me...how irritating!
Just posted above and neglected to mention the irritating bit about stripes blowing up at will even when there are no matching candies around! This level needs to be fixed asap!!!
Glad I found this thread! I coincidentally started using my new computer with this level and thought the freezes were due to that. Can't use my tablet since the level isn't yet available there. Grrhhhh.
Got this on my first try using my iPad. The game didn't freeze at all. They must have fixed the problem that others have written about.

For a game that requires stripes it gives an inordinate amount of wraps. Plus it explodes stripes when it shouldn't. Judging from the large number of comments I'm guessing it's an annoying level.

I found this level quite easy. Worked fine for me, no freezes. And the stripes kept dropping. Took me three tries and I never had the feeling that it wasn't doable. - Gabi
This is ridiculous. 788 is a mess. KING needs to fix the freeze zone on this level. I am going to put my board away until I read it's been fixed. I am going to take a screen shot and send to King. The candy's having difficulty falling when it should and it's taking out stripes when it shouldn't. This seems to be a BIG glitch to me. I am not going to play this.
Those having the same issue should do as I intend to do. Not fair to us as game players. Guess I'll be sitting out for a while and playing DW level 384 which is also a mess. I hope you'll join me in this protest.
I am frozen and I'm not close to completing the game, so no issue about freezing just as I finish. King you have got to stop this PLEASE! We're not all wrong. My freezing occurred on my PC.
I got it on my Android. 3 stars-no boosters. Heard from King. Asked they check 788 out in full as it's not just me, but you guys as well. Moving on. Good luck.
I didn't have any freezing problems. I normally hate these types of levels where you have to match combos, but I managed to knock it out in the first try, no boosters, 3 stars.
When this level first popped up, I thought "5 striped combos? Easy!" Ha. The stupid locked candies prevent lots of moves, and then when you finally unlock them, 9 times out of 10, they are something useless, like chocolates, wraps, bombs, or creme blocks. They hardly ever give you anything useful.
I decided the best way to handle this level was to clear all the locked / special candies first so that I could just have a regular board. The problem with this is that you quickly run out of moves.
Still working on this one.
Everyone who set the game aside until it got fixed can come back and play. I was discouraged when I read all the comments about 5 minutes ago, but then I got through it first try, 3 stars, 6 moves remaining, and I'm on to the next one. No freezing. Good luck!!
This is stupid. Every time I get 2 striped together, they explode first. I guess this is doable but this one might be the end for me!
Not so bad free the mystery candy then careful thought. Enjoyable.

Do each move very slowly. There seem to be an awful lot of dangerous wraps on each board! Also be ultra aware of how to dispose of a sprinkle. Detonate it with great care so you don"t disturb any stripes you have made.
Why do the stripes just randomly explode?!? So frustrating
Agree with Bill that this wasn't too bad. However it took about a dozen tries. Try to eliminate the wraps as soon as they appear to keep from disrupting your stripes. Also try to detonate a sprinkle with a color without formed stripes. Lots of explosions with this one. Did it on iPad, 3 stars, no boosters.
This level is really getting me down. The closest I have come is 2 combos left, all the mystery candies are bombs,chocolate and licorice, can't believe others have found it fun
This could be the level that finishes CC for me! It's been fun for a year, but I can't even get close!
Always get down to 1 match left and the game stops giving you any matches. That and the fact that most of the eggs are chocolate or wrapped, and the board continually blows up for no reason. All to get you to spend money. Levels like this are so rigged when you actually watch all the glitches that prevent you from winning.
More difficult than it sounds as striped candy blow up before you can use them. Once again it seems one of those pointless levels that require no skill, only a lucky board. It is getting pretty boring playing these mindless levels. Time for some new ideas :)
A level that is pointless. You will never beat it until the CC makers decide you will pass as anything close to a required combo blows up before you can use it or you still have 20 moves left with 1 combo to go & no moves become available. No fun, just stupid!!
I played this level all night, then came here in the am and read all of these comments. I took everything to heart and decided that if I needed to use one of my many (saved up) free hand switches or lollipop hammers to get my stripes next to one another I would. I ended up using three and I admit it's probably not a pretty way to pass a level but, on the other hand, they were free and I have several so . . . . done. BTW I have found that I can pretty much get what I want on the wheel -except for the jackpot of course!! - if I hit stop as soon as the pointer is on the item I want. This works 9 times out of 10 for me. I play on an iPhone and I don't know if it's different on different devices but I thought I'd pass it on just in case.
My first two games and I didn't get one stripe anywhere near another, best so far was two remaining before my moves ran out. I'm waiting for a lucky board.
