Candy Crush Saga level 949

Tips and help for level 949 Candy Crush Saga
You need to get the colour bombs into play and use them switched with another special candy for best effect.
If you can make another colour bomb and get it beside one of them you can switch them together to clear the whole board of licorice and bombs. That will give you a good start to clearing the jelly.
Keep your eyes on the bombs as they will appear from the top left.
Combos are the way to go, as well as any other colour bombs you can make.
There are teleports at the bottom of the left side which lead to the four squares on the bottom right, so keep the squares above the teleports free of licorice to avoid getting licorice in the bottom right squares.

I have arrived at this level and realize there is only one more level. 950 is it for now, right? And it isn't even on my iPad yet. I have become addicted to playing sugar drops and I now have so many bonuses I will never get to use them. I have like 10 hammers 12 sprinkles, 8 striped/wrapped, 18 gold bars etc. I wish you were allowed to give them to other players. 902 and 935 are good levels to collect around 20 drops. I have found that the levels with the moving escalators, or whatever they are , are the best! Good luck

You can get to level 965 on PC, Jane..........

I know what you mean Jane, I have accumulated over 30 of each, mostly by playing 935. Oh we'll, good to have I guess even though I try not to use them unless absolutely neccessary. Good luck everyone!

I think android mobile has a bug. I cannot get regular candies at all in the licorice column. If there is a blank space it just stays blank until licorice fills it. And licorice has dropped in between the input of a move (special combo) and it's execution...

marshmellaw1982 said...

I also am having a problem getting a regular candy to drop in the bottom right columns where the licorice drops. Think it requires a bomb or striped perfectly timed when no licorice are occupying those spaces. Using iPhone

Anonymous said...

There must be a glitch in the game. There is no candy falling into the far right column on the left side like the video. Only licorice. Making it difficult to clear the jelly. I hope they fix it so I can keep it moving.

didueverdoubtme said...

Same prob and licorice on bottom right once cleared comes back but it doesng on thus video...no idea how to clear this. Had one jelly under one licorice several times bottom right just cant clear it .. frustrating

Anonymous said...

Yep 10000% glitches for android. Found that out 18 gold bars 5 color bombs and 15 jellyfish later.

Also, anyone know why I can't access color drops?

Anonymous said...

Same problem on iPad. Impossible to finish this way...

Anonymous said...

Even if no licorice using stripped candy can not clear it. Frustrating as all heck. Oh well quitting time.

didueverdoubtme said...

On facebook all columns have jelly. It's an iphone glitch. Waiting on update. I hv got down to one jelly on right bottom many times but it wont clear. Thrown everything at it..wasted all my goodies. .not happy

Anonymous said...

I thought there was a "glitch" on my iPad too but having completed this after 2 days, I think this was part of the game play by CC developers. My strategy was to work the right side first and try to match up a striped ball beside one of the chocolate balls, always hoping for a colour that was also in the jelly box below which did a lot of damage when I hit them together. Then I would work the left side and quickly get rid of the licorice so that I could get rid of more jelly on the right side without a licorice dropping over the jelly. Sounds confusing and very frustrating but it can be done without boosters like I managed to do. Good luck!

Anonymous said...

The tip above works, alright, but what to do if you can't match a color bomb with a stripe? Or if it doesn't take out the square in the right corner of the left side? You need at least two stripes at the bottom of the left side to get rid of the jelly, when it's not covered with licorice. I was tired of trying and tried something else. It involved a lot of boosters, but it worked.
I cleared the jelly as far as possible. A color bomb/stripe combination cleared the right side and I could work on the left side until there was only the square in the right corner. It's either coverd with jelly or with nothing at all, so hammers won't work. You can use it on licorice but not on an empty square. But you can switch the licorice with a jelly and use a hammer on that one. One done, one to go. The licorice is beside it now so you have to switch that another time to get a new jelly beside the square to switch it again with licorice that has fallen down. You can't switch with empty squares. But doing it like this you have jelly in that square and can get rid of it with a hammer. It needs three switches and two hammers and works only if there are at least two licorices in the column.
Good luck - Gabi

The tip above makes sense but I think what makes the post sound confusing is that you are saying switch the licorice with jelly instead of candy. You can't switch jelly. So if the bottom right corner just has a licorice you can use the red hand to switch with a CANDY and smash the candy with a hammer. I will give this a try. But there is a glitch in the game because the board is not working like the video. There IS supposed to be fruit in that last column, not just licorice. IJS

marshmellaw1982 said...

I'm going to try the switching strategy now because that sounds legit, but still definitely a glitch since that's the only way. Last night I managed to hot that bottom right jelly with a striped blast while no licorice was occupying the space and it didn't do anything at all. Glitch if the only way to complete requires boosters.

Anonymous said...

The switching thing worked for me on iPhone but as previous poster said, must be a glitch if you can't pass without boosters. Since the last update has anyone else experienced being bumped back to level 1 on the menu every time you restart the app or it refreshes? So annoying as it takes a lot of swipes to get back to where we're at or level 949.

Anonymous said...

To the person above who hates to swipe to the top......go to your menu on bottom left corner, tap the red door and then hit play....takes you back to where you should be.

Jane said...

Thanks for the tip!

marshmellaw1982 said...

Thanks for the switch tip, just finished the level. Took a color bomb + striped and a color bomb + color bomb. Got down to a 1-hit jelly on bottom right with a licorice in it and a 2-hit jelly on bottom left remaining. Used 3 switches and 3 hammers but thanks to the sugar drops I've loaded up on boosters the last few weeks. Appreciate everyone's help!!

Anonymous said...

Thank you Ladilove for pointing out to me that I confused jellies and candies. Of course I meant candies. I'm sorry for the confusion. I'm not a native English speaker and such things happen sometimes.
Still happy my tip works.

I have THE same problem. No Candy in de left/ right line. Only the Black things

Anonymous said...

No problem. Your tip was helpful none the less. You did great!!

Unknown said...

Same thing here!

Anonymous said...

I have the same problem in level 949.. Last column doesn't get filled with normal candies ..always 2 jellies are uncleared.. How to solve this problem??

Anonymous said...

This level, using an I-pad, does nor provide the same configuration as depicted in videos/pictures/YouTube - its only liquorices that fall into the right hand column at the left side of the level - also, no colours fall from the third column into the right column as shown in videos - pretty unfair of makers not to fix the glitch when it's so obvious to many players!!!

Anonymous said...

There is definitely a bug on the iPhone as nothing drops in the two right hand columns. Have tried swaps and lollipops but nothing will break the jelly. Suggest we email Candy Crush: admin@candycrushonline.com

To the person above with the switch tip, you are a genius! The switch tip did it. Thank you!

Anonymous said...

Do not use phone to play this level. It has a bug where bottom centre candy cannot be distoryed. It has wasted many of my lolli pop boosters when I play it using phone. Do play it using PC, where I clear it at first try.

LBC said...

Definitely no candies falling in last column on left side. Realized it after many boosters and tons of combos. Emailed King and hopefully they will fix it. Videos of this level show no problem.

Anonymous said...

Yes back to level 1..if on phone just hit end game in the bottom right where arrow is..it will take u straight to the top again

Anonymous said...

Yes gave up..2nd try on computer via facebook done. You need all columns to have candy to complete this. Just wasted so many of my specials on iPhone. .quite pissed and unless an update fixes prob its a waste of energy and frustrating

Norah said...

Just finished the last two levels of this episode. This one definitely had a glitch with tbe licorice on right bottom corner of left side. I managed to line up one wrap above another wrap right beside it and set them off and it was gone. I play on android.
Good luck with it!

Anonymous said...

On level 949, no candies on right hand side of left column, only licoriish, I used so many boosters please fix this King

Anonymous said...

Did anyone else loose all their boosters with the latest update?

Jane said...

I lost my 22 gold bars

Anonymous said...

I couldn't figure out what happened. I had over 20 gold bars and they just disappeared. I also seem to be missing some other boosters as well. So much for the Sugar Drop challenge. Also, now we have lost the option to choose our boosters after we see the board. KING is messing with us yet again.

Anonymous said...

Tried all the tips and cannot get regular candy in licorice column. Watched four or five tutorials and they all show that column filing with regular candies. I get rid of all the licorice and bottom right corner just stays as a jelly and the very next move fills with licorice again. Still think there is a bug and have abandoned the game until there is an update. B

Anonymous said...

Definitely a bug and I am not playing that level until it's fixed. Already wasted boosters.

Cat said...

Thanks Gabi-

Would that I had read your truly genius hand switch tip prior to the waste of almost all of my hammers. Had almost all of the jelly cleared with combos and did the switch/hammer thing on the far right. Took the complications you described to clear the remaining left side tile, but had enough moves and just enough hammers left.

Never would have thought of that. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Anonymous said...

Play this level on the PC. Did it first time. No chance on iPhone/iPad devices. Had one jelly left covered by licorice. So took the advice above and used the hand to swap the licorice with a candy. Then was able to combine a stripe/wrap to get rid of that jelly and finish the level.

Crushed said...

Same problem on Apple. Sent email 4 days ago about this bug, I also get a daily booster popup but my daily booster wheel doesn't look like the popup one.
And of course having to scroll all the way back to top all the time is a pain.

Crushed said...

Has anyone figured out what the trophies in the mail icon are about?

Anonymous said...

Completed today using striped and chocolate ball combo. Not sure how managed it though the liquorice didn't fill the space this time.

This series seems to be ok nothing really impossible at long last

Mm

Anonymous said...

I had the same problem, had to clean app cash and erase app data, I lost the boosters I had (luckily, I didn't have many), but after that sugar drops appear every day. Collected tonnes of boosters which I wasted on this level :( Didn't realise it was glitchy :(

Anonymous said...

On Android I do "refresh purchases" in the main menu and then hit "play" and it takes me back to the current level. Still hate this glitch though.

Anonymous said...

Thanks Gabi I beat the first time after trying your strategy.

Anonymous said...

Switch licorice with jelly then use hammer.

Anonymous said...

So I have an iPhone with the latest version of CC and I used quite a few lives trying to beat 949 only to realize that it was impossible because that blasted column would stay empty. I didn't realize that was a glitch until I read this. So I tried the level on my computer and beat it the first try. Seriously annoying!

Also, with the phone glitch of the app reverting to level 1, I think someone else also suggested this but if you back out by hitting the arrow in the lower left, then hit the red "back" button, you'll be back at the home screen but once you hit "play" it will have you on your corrected level. I have to do this every time I launch the app. ARGH

Anonymous said...

Yes if you back out and go back in, it will bring you to current level and not back to Level 1. Another glitch King needs to fix. I broke down and switched the 2 blank bottom right licorice with the candy next to it and finished no problem. Still needs to be fixed by King.

Anonymous said...

Got it on iPad. With second move I was able to make another chocoball and then a stripe next and I was off to a great start. Got down to one jelly in the left most column and a jelly with a licorice. Then used the tip to use the hand switch to switch the candy with it. Used hammer to take out that one. Then two more moves I got the last jelly. Thanks for the tips. Love this blog. JS

Anonymous said...

In android, the jelly at the left side, right bottom end can't be destroy - tested with stripe bombs at 2 occasions. Hence this stage is 100% unpassable until the bug is fixed.

Unknown said...

I also can't get the candies to fill in on 4th column on 1st table. Only licorice or blank tiles...using my kindle.
I've watched game played and won on you tube and I know they are supposed to

Anonymous said...

Not easy but can be done with licorice there. Two wrapped candies side by side got jelly in both right bottom columns.

Just wanted to give you guys a few levels that are rich with drops: 66, 73, 112, 185, 276, 281, 296. Higher end:906, 928, 932, 938, 942-944, 945. Hope these help.

Elana said...

Go into dream world and back out again - you'll be back at the top - saves time versus scrolling!

Peachie said...

You guys are so smart. Great tip about the switch hand. Got it on my pc. Thanks so much. Truly love this blog.

Anonymous said...

666 is rich too, I get about 40 each time.

Anonymous said...

Brilliant! I used 2 hand switches and 2 hammers and Voila!! Finished! Thanks so much for the great tip. I had 42 hand switches so no worries about using them- LOL

Read the comments posted May 29 at 3:45 and 4:18. Worked like a charm! And thank goodness for sugar drops. I still have plenty of switch hands and 8 hammers left!

Anonymous said...

I used to be able to play 935 over and over for the sugar drops. Since the update, I can only play a sugar drop level.once. Also 935 is no longer a sugar drop level. Anyone else have the same experience?

Jane said...

Yes, can no longer play 935 and the other good ones, only once!

Anonymous said...

If you can switch a wrapped candy with a licorice in the lower right square and set it off with a hammer it is possible to use just those 2 boosters to win the game.

Anonymous said...

Gabi, tried your strategy & used hand switches & hammers which I even bought, anything to get out of this horrid level. I am angry at King for not fixing this glitch. We should be given some free hammers or switches!! NC

Jane said...

You can get all the free hammers and switches you want by playing sugar drops. I have 23 hammers and 27 switch hands

Anonymous said...

Bug fixed on android, its easier now.

Anonymous said...

Not everyone has sugar drops. I have never had them. Contacted King and they said only a few players have it for a trail run.
I'm so annoyed at this as I've spent hundreds of pounds on this game and people who spend little or no money have up to 40 of each boosters. This is a BIG NOT FAIR!!!! In my opinion.

Anonymous said...

I have passed the old version 949 with super luck without booster. Also, I just found that the android mobile bug has been fixed today, pls do the update

Anonymous said...

Do not bother trying to pass this level on a mobile device unless you want to waste A LOT of boosters. It has too many glitches. I took someone's advice and played on the pc. Won on the 2nd try by using one hand switch in the bottom left to get the last jelly. Thanks for all the help.

Anonymous said...

Passed this on ipad with no boosters. You just need a couple of wraps next to the jelly that has no fruit in it. The switch method also works. Like other levels you need a lucky board though.

Anonymous said...

Annoyed I wasted so many boosters on this level only to find update fixed the stupid glitch. Of course I got it eventually...but 2nd attempt without glitch done. I think this glitch is deliberate to make one buy boosters as it shld hv been corrected long b4 now!! If I cld demand a refund on wasted boosters I would ...grrrr

Anonymous said...

That is annoying- I am glad I have the sugar drops. I will assume I will lose them soon and try a bit harder. AJ

Michelle said...

When you find out let me know. .
curious myself

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the tip about updating the app. Beat it the first time after update. 2 stars no boosters. Laurie

Anonymous said...

I just passed this ... After numerous attempts. Used free fish booster, first had color bomb with stripe which cleared all licorice out. And fish booster nailed the troublesome bottom row right end candy. Finished with 23 moves left. Good luck to all.

Anonymous said...

Ok, so I've been endlessly playing this level on both my iPad and Android phone. No luck and thought it was by design, that the column with the licorice wasn't supposed to have any candy. Well - I realized by playing on the PC that this column SHOULD have candy and have subsequently passed this level on my third try. Ugh. Thanks for the frustration CC. Carry on...

Van5 said...

Was very worried when I read all these comments. Got this on my 4th try. The bombs got me the first 3 tries. Had a candy on the bottom right which was also the last jelly. A stripe/ wrap combo cleared that with 17 moves left. Had I not managed that I would have used a hammer to get it! The glitch must have been fixed as I am days behind most of these comments. Happy to be passed. 2 stars only, but that's ok!

Michelle said...

Anyone playing chocolate ball challenge....use 932 for lots of them.

Bill. said...

After a lot of trouble on the last level got this one first attempt. Horizontal stripes did the trick together with a wrapped and striped candy combination.

Bull Fighter said...

passed this first time lol was great then i read all these posts glad didnt have issues

Anonymous said...

I'm not so lucky. Sigh

Charlotte said...

2 chocolate bombs together was a huge help. Then later I mixed a stripe and sprinkle. It's harder to clear the jelly on the right so try to focus on vertical stripes over that side.

Anonymous said...

This level looked really scary but I managed to get it on the first try. I did have 2 chocolate bombs and then managed to get a horizontal stripey in the bottom row. Yay.

Anonymous said...

Oh wow, I was really lucky. I did this in one go. Only 2 stars who cares. After that terrible 948 level it's nice to get an easy one.
Grace from DU

Anonymous said...

Video shows 50 possible moves -- mine only shows 34 WTH!! Come on cc this just isn't fair. How about some uniformity?????

Anonymous said...

Really. ....this level sucks
