Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1198 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie.
You have to score at least 100,000 points in 15 moves to complete level 1198 Candy Crush Saga.
The score shouldn't be too much of a problem as there are a lot of countdown bombs on the board which give very high scores when you clear them, especially if you can clear some using a colourbomb.
What will cause you a problem are the countdown bombs, they will kill the game if they count down to zero however many points you have. You have to use up ALL the moves as well as getting the score needed so the bombs have to be kept under control.
Before you make a move look very carefully at the board, especially the bottom part where the bombs are. You need to clear the bombs before they count down, so it is important which moves you make at the start as you want to destroy as many bombs as possible with each move.
You will get more bombs dropping from the top as you play, but these tend to be easier to clear than the ones in the bottom of the board.
Sometimes it is good if the board shuffles as it often places the bombs in a better position and sometimes any matches made from the shuffle will clear bombs so it can be a big help.

I wish I'd read this (not to make a move) before trying several times and using several saved boosters(choc. ball and sprinkle/wrap). First try not making a move and score of 36840. Closest I was able to get by playing was around 28000.

I had worked out that if you did a few moves on the bottom right of the board then let the +5s explode I got much closer than trying to actually use the board. Glad to read that I was correct! Makes a nice change lol

So funny, after reading blog, followed advice and got 29800...lol. I'm wondering how all help discovered doing nothing worked..
This was probably the most helpful hint ever given.
Don't try to better your score by playing again. I followed hints and easily passed without doing anything. I was curious to see it happen again, tried again and the required points jumped to 50,000. Played on iPad mini.
Tried it. Did nothing. Screen said Sugar Crush and then colours etc exploded eventually giving me a score of 47020.
No elation though as it Feels like a cheat more than a strategy tip.

Very funny. I came here to complain that my +5s weren't counting...I match 2 or 3 of them at once but only get a single credit of 5 points.
Now I have to wait 15 minutes to earn a life before I can try the do nothing approach.LOL

I've been playing this all day and never got much above 15K. Wish I'd read the advice about "doing nothing" first. When I get more lives, I'm going to give that a try. Thanks.
I beat it the first try on my phone, but not by doing nothing. I had played three times on the computer and realized I was getting more points by leaving the +5 candies alone to blow up at the end, so when I played, I stayed away from as many of those as possible and just stuck to the bottom right hand side. When the clock ran out, the +5 candies exploded and I got my points.
In hindsight, the idea of waiting the ten seconds and doing nothing is much better. I imagine when cc realizes this, they'll fix it.

Oh boy, I can hardly wait to do nothing & see if it works for me.
Doing something hasn't! I found that when I match the +5 candies together, I don't get an extra 5 seconds anyway. I thought things were finishing sort of fast, even when I matched a lot of the +5s and so i watched the clock (not easy when you're in a hurry to make matches as well). I noticed that when I matched 3x +5s on a first move, I didn't get an extra 15 seconds as I would have expected, the clock simply reset back to 10 (from 8). So I gained an extra 2 seconds.
And so it continued. Never went above 10, ever.
I'll do nothing instead.
It is hilarious that they rate this a "hard" level when it is in fact the absolute easiest to do in the game. You don't make a single move and you win in 0 moves!

This level is hilarious. I'm a long time player who has the "frozen in time" charm and "paintbrush" charm. This is the only timed level where it is best not to use EITHER of them! The only good strategy is to do NOTHING and let the time expire. It will work about half the time and you will only get one star but it works!
Level 252 was mentioned earlier and I remember it to. A 20M point level easy. I always go back there for color candy bonuses to rack up goodies.

Wow, this is a first for me! I missed that this is a timed level until it started. Then I saw the clock running so started looking at the board to figure out what I needed to do and the time ran out. All those +5's turned to packages, then they all exploded, giving me enough points to complete the level. And I never even made a single move! - Steve

I had just earned 6 hours infinite lives from a treasure chest so decided I'd have a go at this level before looking at the tips. After about ten attempts and never getting above 20K, I came here expecting to see at least a hundred comments. I feel like an idiot. But I got my revenge. It didn't take just one attempt at doing nothing. It took six. Hey! Wait a minute!

It looks like CCS has found the trick about doing nothing and removed the points when the timed candies explode. I tried this a few times and get NO points when all the timed candies explode. One time I got a whopping 540 points.
They've also removed the "special" candies created with the timed candies as well. I've had a number of boards where I made either a striped or wrapped candy and it just kind of disappears.
So much for this trick. This is going to be a very difficult level.
I cant get passed 12000. I think King has caught on and it is very hard to pass. Help
Doing nothing hasn't worked for me - still not completed and used loads of lives
I didn't realise it was a timed level, got distracted by the TV, looked away for 10 seconds, looked back and the points just kept going up. Do nothing!
This is not the same screen as mine. Mine has timed bombs not +5 time boosts. What's going on?
This level has totally changed. Now, there are no +5 candies - just LOTS of bombs. And 15 moves instead of a timer. Bombs get me every time!! Katie B
I agree, this level has changed since earlier comments. I cannot clear the bombs at bottom before they explode. Finding it very frustratng,
I was so excited to read that I could do nothing and get by this horrible level. Sadly, this is no longer true. They changed the layout so I know you cannot do nothing. I don’t know what you can do to pass this level. It is darn near impossible.
Be prepared to use a lot of hammers. I was up at level 1791, did an update, lost everything, so trying to catch up where I left off. This level now? All above tips don't work. Just need that lucky board and a lot of hammers.
