Candy Crush Saga Level 1520

Hints and tips showing how to pass level 1520 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Allina Rumfelt.
The scattered multi hit blockers make it really difficult to make good combos and special candies.  You pretty much have to take what you can get at first, endure a few shuffles and then once the board opens up, you can clean up the rest of the jellies.  There are 5 colors so you really have to hunt for the special candies but they are there if you look hard enough.  There is not a whole lot you can do until the board opens up so focus on moves in the middle if given a choice.  It's easier to make special candies for combos in there. With so many 3 candy moves, you run out of moves pretty quickly so really hunt for the combos. You need them.

There are not five colors, there are six. The special candies are NOT there unless you get a lucky board. VERY frustrating level.

Glad to see this blog back. It is my favorite. Been on this level for awhile

I hate to admit that a bullshit level like 1520 has forced me to give up on CC but after playing this level over 200 times I am done I will say that I have spent money on some levels but I had rather quit than spend one dollar on a bs level like this

anonymous said...

I agree with your frustration Jan and to add insult to injury, who ever gets such a perfect board as the one on the demonstration video?

I think I'm going to have to give up also!

Lucia said...

The ridiculously lucky boards in the videos for hard levels almost make them more frustrating. The tips on this one make it sound like you should get it every time -- just open up the board, make specials, and clean up the jellies, no problem. Grrr. (Sorry, Allina, but this is NOT an easy level.)

That said, I have done it without boosters a few times. You need some lucky combos; stripe-color-bomb is best. You won't get it most of the time, and when you do it won't always work. But it can be done.

anonymous said...

Wow Lucia you have done it a few times -- congratulations! How do you get a lucky board? I've been playing for 2 days now and haven't even gotten close. At least your post gives me hope.

Lucia said...

Unfortunately, you get a lucky board by getting lucky, which can be a long slog. I can only say hang in there, it will happen eventually. Do stop before every single move and look for all possible moves. In the beginning you need the one that will hit the most blockers. When/if you get it opened up a bit you need to make or set up a special, or if you can't do for that go for blockers. I know this is screamingly obvious and everyone knows it, but it's still easy to miss good moves. (Even Cookie does sometimes, mirabile dictu.)

As on all hard levels, you can get some lucky cascades that take out blockers, feel like you really might be getting somewhere this time... and then all you get are three-candy moves where they do no good. It takes a lot of patience.

You know somethings wrong when you feel you've done well to get within 20 moves of clearing the board. Levels like this only serve to make players quit. I'm going back to collect boosters until this level is modified.

Where were you people during level 1518? I thought that was, by far, the most difficult level, EVER! I had to use several boosters to pass after trying for days. I haven't passed 1520, yet, but at least I can see the light at the end of the tunnel - IOW, I've come close.

Anonymous said...

OK so, Jan what the heck... I've been on this for a few days.. just used all my boosters... a couple of hand switches and a hammer and my 9 gold.... but I got it this time... You can too!!! Good luck!

A rather difficult episode capped off by a very hard last level. 6 colors male this level almost impossible without boosters and even with boosters still very hard as I still needed 5 extra moves but that is what the sugar drops and all the challenges are for. ..I guess. Should be buffed to 5 colors. Oh well see everybody next Wednesday.

Finished 1st try on Android. Used one hand switch to line up a chocolate sprinkle/stripe combo and got one more choc sprinkle that I used to get one jelly at the very end. Only two stars but after reading comments glad I got through. Good luck. Til next Wednesday.

WTF, I've used a lot of gold bars and boosters to complete android episode 102

Anonymous said...

At least you didn't do it in 3 hours KK.

Used 9 of my gold bars for 5 extra moves. Also needed to use 3 hand switches and a hammer. Was so close, I didn't want to be doing this forever! After reading the comments, I thought I might be! Happy to be moving on....next Wednesday. Will spend my days collecting sugar drops. Good luck everyone!

Hi all. Took several tries and luck, but here are my suggestions. Reset until you have at least two doable three candies, and don't set off any lower combos or three candies until you've checked the upper board so you don't lose anything doable above. That almost always brought me within striking distance and ready for the lucky board when it came. Good luck.

Anonymous said...

This level is a stinker but can be done. I used sprinkle booster and stripe/ wrap and kept resetting till sprinkle next to stripe. This blew up a good section of board which mad combos more doable. One hand switch at the end dropped the color I needed to clear the last couple jellies.
Good luck! Crush on

I was looking for help for 1518, too. I think I got out by paying for boosters.

Anonymous said...

this level is like combing gum out of a little girls' long hair. grrrr.

No lucky candies and six colors on iOS , so after playing for 100 times I used all three boosters and passed in the first attempt with 15 moves left.
Obviously we are being forced on some levels to use boosters which we are given on daily spin and by collecting sugardrops. Up to you to decide whether this is OK. I would prefer the levels to be "passable" with skill and without boosters.

Anonymous said...

Posting here for luck! Came within 3 jellies on my first attempt, but didn't use my hammers as I 'thought' I would get close again. The board is an easy concept, and you know you will succeed if you get lucky, but I've been nowhere near as lucky since my first try. Going to try with some boosters to see if it helps. Frustrating level.

Anonymous said...

The CC All Help Karma gods smiled on me again! First game after the above post for luck, I used all 3 boosters, and it gave me the sprinkle right next to the wrap to start! Otherwise, a fairly normal game, but somehow I got down to one jelly and a final move that would clear it. 2 stars and moving on....

Crushed said...

Is this another board that is different on mobiles than on a PC?
I've got 6 colors not 5. Making combo is near impossible.
First 20 moves do nothing.
Been 5 days and have yet to clear all the cream blockers.
Going to take a near perfect board or wait until King fixes yet another mistake.

Wonder if King is getting tired of my emails letting them know they screwed up again.

Catgirl said...

Posting here for luck too. Going to throw all the boosters at it this time and reset until I get the sprinkle ball and stripe adjacent! Played about a gazillion times so far with no luck, here goes folks!

Catgirl said...

Ok, so after resetting the board 45 TIMES, got the ball next to a stripe, of which there were only 6 others on the board that colour.. Waste of time and boosters. Guess it's a case of wait for lucky board or until game is modified.

Catgirl said...

Yayyy, got it second time with above method and it only took 8 resets this time! Completed with just one move to spare, phew. Agree with above comments about working on the Middle if at all possible and checking the board thoroughly before each move to see if a special candy can be made... Good luck everybody x

Anonymous said...

Thought I would come here first for helpful tips, but thinking now this level could be a big problem.. Fingers crossed here I go!

Anonymous said...

Successfully completed this level. I would recommend focusing on the lower half of the board to allow cascades to do most of the work to clear the mirangue. Keep an eye for opportunities to make special candies. Good Luck!

Anonymous said...

We all know he gets his cheap thrill from his WTF comment at the end of every episode. Has he played any of the levels? He has yet to describe or to advise on how to cross a particular level. A description requres an experience of actually completing a level to describe it. No description means no such experience...

Just noticed today have a Paint brush booster available next to Lollipop hammer. Play on Android. Not sure what it does?

Was told it lets you paint stripes, your choice of either vertical or horizontal, on any candy. Haven't used it yet so can't confirm.

Just finished level 1520 and waiting for the next board to open up

Jennifer said...

I've tried pretty much everything on this level. I've tried playing the top, I've tried playing the bottom, I've tried on the phone, and I've tried on the computer. The only thing I haven't tried is boosters. As someone else said, the first 20 moves are pretty much useless. By the time I've made any progress, I look up and see I only have 7 moves left. I'm surprised they haven't classified this as a hard level. I've been stuck about 4 days.

Elflin said...

I play on my phone and have also completed level 1520 and waiting for the next board to open. Thing is, it opens up the next board on my computer so have now reached level 1522 but still won't open the next board on my phone, any ideas why?

Mobile (all tablets and cell phones) always is available Wednesdays.

Level 1476 is really good for today's "Orange" challenge.

Wow just came here and read tips and passed on next try. Started with upper left and alternated working bottom. Used two hammers and end because didn't want to come that close again and not finish. Two stars. Good luck. LA

Great tip! Thanks! LA

After playing forever on my own,I finally came here for some tips. As usual good luck came and I passed it on my first attempt. I used a color bomb and stipe and reset until they were next to each other. Used a lollipop to get the last one when I was down to 3 moves left. Good luck everyone. Theresa

Jennifer said...

After being stuck on this level for six days, the CC gods finally allowed me to pass. I got a semi lucky board (hardly any combos really), and had to use two hammers to finish it. Good riddance.

Velda said...

I tried using a coconut wheel but it didn't help. I abandoned the idea of using boosters.
I used a switch to get a striped next to a bomb and this helped a lot . When I only had one move left, I used 4 hammers to rid the candys beneath the cherries - I could see the end was in sight. Glad to have passed this horrid level.

Anonymous said...

This would have to be the worst level ever. I have been playing it very regularly for over a week and have only got within 5 on one occasion. I have used all of my boosters to no avail. CC better fix this or they will lose a lot of players. Its not fair.

FrankC said...

The free color bomb helped me out in combination with another color bomb from my booster collection. Also threw in a fish booster for extra damage. Reset till the 2 balls were next to each other and boom! That gives a very nice head start, clearing the rest is a pleasant and not to difficult job then. No extra boosters needed, had a few moves left.

Good luck all! Frank

Van5 said...

Huh???

There is no option to use coconut wheels on this level Zelda...

1518 was a nightmare. I had to use gold bars for extra moves twice. Costly but I'm past it. Now 1520 is the return of b the nightmare

Anonymous said...

I passes this with 7 moves left and used no boosters.
I played only at the bottom of the board when possible. This allows the top to make its own combos.
Only way to do it as far as I can see.

Anonymous said...

Another boring, IMPOSSIBLE , constantly reshuffling level ! Blhhhhh......

Anonymous said...

Just posting for luck. It usually helps. I either need a lucky board or a lot more moves. At least it doesn't have bombs or chocolate or spawners. I'll get it eventually.

Anonymous said...

Feels like I have been on this one forever

Anonymous said...

Read through all these posts before trying. Used all three boosters and reset until I thought I had a possible good start whether it be with a sprinkle next to a stripe or wrap. Wrap looked good as there were several candies of that color next to blockers. Worked like a charm and I got it on first try using no other boosters, even though I was prepared to. JS

Anonymous said...

Happy for you...I'm still stuck!

Bill. said...

Without the most boring level very limited moves. Just keep at it it can be done. Concentrate on the moves which attack the centre and look for combinations.

Unknown said...

Ahhhh! I can't even get close!

Anonymous said...

finally did it! phew, that is one tough level. tried various strategies and the one i found got me close-ish on quite a number of occasions was working from the bottom always unless there's a no-brainer move up top, until i'd cleared quite a big area.

if i'd had hammers and switches i'd done it alot earlier; that said, i did use fish at the start - you get a few over the course of the level so its worth it but of course no guarantee

Anonymous said...

Nightmare indeed. Decided to use 2 saved boosters, sprinkle and a stripe/candy and I reset the board until the stripe and sprinkle were side by side. That did it, opened up the board superbly, first move. Although I did need a hand switch to get a stripe and candy together, later on. Finished with 5 moves spare, glad to have it behind me, been playing for a week getting no where close.
Thanks for all of the tips as always.

i had a lucky board, 5 color bombs:) can't believe it :)

Anonymous said...

If King's intention was to drive away a player it worked. After 2 weeks on this ridiculous level, I removed the game from my phone.

Anonymous said...

Got it 3rd try without boosters. The first two times were pretty close too.
I played the bottom of the board, and not the middle - as suggested previously...
After winning the level I played it one more time(just out of curiosity) and beat it again using the same strategy.

Laura S. said...

I got this in about 10 tries and while I know a lot of it is luck, the big help for me was switching a color bomb with a wrap. Blew up the entire board in one shot.

Anonymous said...

Lucky board. First try without boosters. Two stars. Off to the next adventure

Unknown said...

How do you reset the board? I've been playing CC for 3 yrs and have never known how to reset the board of which you all speak. I would like to know this secret please.

Anonymous said...

Oh come on cc, I'm getting to within 3 moves on most games but I have no hammers. Lucky board please.

Anonymous said...

Update, I'm now at lunacy point with this level. I've started to name all the little boosters and I feel like I'm getting to know them. Please king, before I totally lose the plot can I have a lucky board.

Anonymous said...

Looking for some tips... Think I'll try working from the bottom if possible, I'll let you know...

Silverdollarbill said...

Started with a wrapped/stripped booster, & a fish booster; & with a first helmet. CB was popped by a stripped, but in a couple of moves made a stripped/wrapped combo. With a few stripped & wrapped candies finished with 14 moves left, first try.
