Hints and tips showing how to pass level 2979 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
A tricky jelly level with only 14 moves, level 2979 is likely to take a few lives before you pass it without boosters. You need to get the candies into the bottom part of the board as quickly as possible, then get cascades going by using colourbombs or wraps.
Play in the bottom of the board as much as possible but take any chance to make colourbombs or wraps. There is no real strategy to clearing this level, just a lot of luck.
If you are getting close but not managing to clear the last few jellies try using a jelly fish booster.

Very very hard level, still not done it even with all boosters,
I was going to stop at level 3000 but can't be bothered with this shit. Too many levels are now impossible to pass without a shit load of boosters. King has killed the golden goose.
billy rabbit, I agree. But after getting this far I am aiming for the 3000. after that I can say I finished the game. I dont think anything will get better anymore - its all luck now, no skill. Happy new year and good luck everyone!
Totally agree with BillyRabbit. Nothing about candy crush is fun anymore. Every level is just a matter of luck. The player has no real influence on the outcome. Candy Crush is nothing more then a slot machine now. King has ruined the game in favor of selling boosts. Greedy bastards!
Well King, I have loved every minute of candy crush but this level has finished it for me. Ive played hundreds of times, used up all boosters and nowhere near. 14 moves is ridiculous.

I also agree with you Billy rabbit the game has been no fun at all for a while now, its all about buying boosters and having to ALWAYS taking boosters to finish the levels... no fun anymore, it use to be about fun and skills. I play less and less
I finally passed this with space helmet, and the fact that there are 17 moves on mobile as opposed to 14 on PC. Good luck all, don't give up.
First try with 2 CB from the SD for a start and a fish booster.
I also needed 2 out of the 3 extra moves from the SD (One move left).

Sadly, I agree with Billy Rabbit. I don’t even try to pass without the space dash or helmet. Have finished most levels on first try, but since there is al ost no skill, it just is t really fun. I loved the game originally because you really had to strategize, but no longer. I was aiming for 3000 and I will finish but no real sense of satisfaction. I’ve really enjoyed everyone’s insights and Ms. Cookies great tipster! Happy Holidays all you crushers:)

I combined 2 CB and the played at the bottom of the board. The cascades got most of the jellies. I had used a fish but didn’t see how it made a difference followed Gil and Cookie’s advice
I added a fish booster to the space dash. I had a stripe/wrap combo in a good spot and used it first, saving the sprinkles. They wound up next to stripes so I used them that way. I guess I was lucky since I was able to match the fish and get the last two jellies. I still had a couple moves left.

Apart from "most levels first try" I agree. It took me often many many tries and sometimes I bought boosters or time, but this was a fair deal (nothing in life is for free and it's OK for me if CC earns money to do new levels). But at least it was mostly skill and patience and "thrill" how to solve the riddle. This thrill - and fun - is gone. Just aiming for the "3000-club" is my aim now.
Cookie writes: "level 2979 is likely to take a few lives before you pass it without boosters". Hahaha, very funny. The video is astonishing. Never had this luck. Without boosters / space dash or mega huge luck no way to pass. Had space dash plus fish and still needed several tries.

Did this 2nd try and no, wasn’t a ‘lucky’ board. I listened to the tip at the top of the page instead of whining and did it first time after that! 😀

After two days......no luck at all with this level....come on CC....give us more moves.
have played hundreds of games at this level for many, many days, with no luck at all. Used and wasted so many boosters. However I have not spent one penny in like a month, that was a new decision. No more money to King. So meantime, I just stay at this level forever apparently? Still I'm keeping my money! What does it take to win this crazy level?!?!?
If your goal is to try to pass with the least frustration then start with a fully loaded stocking on all the levels, seems to be the key to all the latest levels. I added a fish booster just in case and was thankful that I did because I wouldn't have passed first go without it.
Can't believe this is not considered a 'hard level' - I'm getting nowhere and have used the tips and the boosters - no luck at all.

Without boosters it’s just pure luck... no more timed levels but just switched to less moves, same thing basically...
