Hints and tips showing how to pass level 3970 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 3970 is a multi task level, you have to clear the jelly and at the same time collect licorice and clear the two cakes.
You don't have to worry too much about the licorice to begin with, your focus should be to clear the cake in the top section of the board in as few moves as possible and you will collect some of the licorice as you do that.
Once the top cake is cleared the next job is to collect the keys which will drop from the top of the board. You need a bit of luck with the keys as you can't afford to waste moves getting them to drop and collecting them, you really need to drop and collect them in one move if you can.
The keys will unlock the row of licorice along the middle and allow you to get to the cake at the bottom of the board. This cake is a lot easier to clear than the top one so use combos to clear it quickly. A double wrap combo will clear the cake in one move if you can get it close.
The video below by Kazuohk starts with 22 moves but is completed in 21 and although there are now only 20 moves hopefully this video will give you an idea of what needs to be done to pass the level.

Wow, just wow! Clearly no comments because nobody can pass these levels without a shovel full of boosters & mine (had 60 each) are gone. Watched a video from this Johnny Crush & he had 800+ of each!! I’ve collected SD twice daily since it started, using about 20 each episode. Either King needs to start dishing out mega amounts of hammers/switches instead of (3) hands a day or I’m done! Since Wednesday I’ve spent probably 10 hours on this junk, and I’m still not finished. What a waste of time, As Pjay said, what a slap in the face

No comments because Cookie isn’t caught up with where we are with CC. I finally finished yesterday, used almost all my hands and switches plus the flying saucers I had saved. Ended up playing on my phone to complete the last episode. I will not be able to keep up this pace if we start getting 3 episodes on a regular basis.
Obviously King must donate buckets of boosters to Jonny Crush- would take a lot of money to pay for all the ones he has.
It took many many attempts to pass- currently stick on 380. Nearly every one taken multiple attempts to pass. Usually only when golden bows appear and then a lucky pinata.All of the 45 levels released on 14 Nov are about luck and not skill. So frustrating and unfair.
Maybe this is King's way to try to get us over to the new game? It won't work as the new game just isn't for me. I was going to quit at 2000 but I'm still here. I'll try to get to 4000 and then (hopefully) quit. Maybe I won't even get that far.

Have got 6 hours of CB and stripe wrap combo from space dash. Hope to complete the last episode. Need a lucky board for the levels. Posting for luck
Couldn't get it yesterday, got it first try today. Full space dash plus fish booster, I first matched a CB with a stripe and got the top cake right away. The fish booster was a help.

I tried 2 colour bombs together and it only took a small amount of the cakes away. Still trying
King is giving us boards where we need just one or a few moves to win so we will buy the extra moves. Well I’m done as this is all about luck and money. Skill is not involved. This is as far from relaxing as a game can get.

As mentioned above, a double wrap combo besides the upper cake is indeed the way to go :)

Level after difficult level.... I just can’t do this anymore....I can’t
100% luck level. Just have to wait till King decides to clear the cake on the top for you as there's no way to strategically get that done. Until that's done, nothing else matters. This level is 100% luck, and 100% stupid.
Seriously... it takes 5 keys to unlock the locked tiles. Each key drops ONLY after the prior key is collected (and then, of course, ONLY when the spaces below the key droppers are cleared). That's 10 moves to unlock the locked cells, plus all the moves to even GET the top cake cleared in order to start dropping the keys... this level is beyond stupid. Most of the time you can't make a move near the top of the upper cake, so those slices of cake just sit there. When you get to 10 moves or less, might as well quit that play. How does King think this is 1) remotely possible; 2) not a hard level?
2 hours of free lives given and STILL DID NOT PASS THIS IMPOSSIBLE LEVEL! Get a grip King!
Full bot. Cleared top cake on second or third move. Never cleared the bottom cake. I quit. Having to run down nearly 1000 levels, play that level 7 or more times to get the bot (or space dash or whatever other "booster" that King thinks is now "standard fare" on these levels), and then come back, resetting until it's a perfect start, only to not even get close? Come on. (I still had 13 or 18 jellies to clear as well as the lower cake.) King has completely screwed up this game with the "magic hats" and "space dash" type boosters... levels are either very easy with them, or impossible (usually even with them). If that's a "requirement" to pass a level (having the space dash/whatever), then make it part of the standard play for players who get to this point. Otherwise, get rid of that junk and get back to real levels that actually test the player, not his willingness to pay every other level to pass.
This is a JOKE! I guess King really does want us all to give this game up. 30 gold bars in the piggy bank, more impossible levels = I'm just about done. I am truly fed up with this. King won't get another dime from me. And I am finally getting so bored with this game. Thank you King, for helping me break my addiction. It's not fun anymore. I used to look forward to playing. Now, I kind of dread getting to each level. I just don't care anymore. I've been in a candy crush fog for way too long. I think this is just what I need.

This is a freaking irritating level with too few moves
Even with boosters not getting much further and unfortunately does not have the possibility for double cb. The moves are reduced and extra row with blockers on both sides will not make this possible to clear in such a few moves.

I cleared it using stripe/wrap at start and finished using 2 hammers.
Also required a very lucky board being able to clear cake and keys with almost every move.
