Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4053 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4053 Candy Crush Saga is classified as a hard level so you can expect to lose a few lives before you manage to pass it. This is also a dual task level, you have to collect chocolate and clear all the jelly to complete the level.
Whatever you do don't start the level with a double colourbomb combo. There is not enough chocolate on the board to begin with so you have to let it grow to get enough for the orders, but it doesn't matter if you clear some at the start as long as you don't clear it all.

First uncover the frog and grow it, you can then use it to clear the jelly in the bottom section, don't worry about collecting more keys, there is no need.
Clear as much jelly as you can while the cocolate is growing and keep an eye on the number of moves you have left, the chocolate will only grow by one square per move and if you clear some it will not grow the next move, so you can work out if you are able to clear any to get to the jelly underneath. Keep counting the chocolate and once you have enough chocolate clear it and then you can see how many jellies you have left to clear.
By the time the chocolate is grown enough you may not have many moves left to clear the jelly, so think carefully about your moves. The frog may have been grown while you were thinking about other things and if so it can be used to clear any tricky jellies left on the board.
Finally, if all the chocolate gets cleared before there is enough for the orders it's game over!

Do not start with a CB combo here because it will wipe out the chocolate and therefore there will no more chocolate to grow to get the chocolate order. But you have to clear the licorice so that they will be replaced by candies which the chocolate can grow into.
Very frustrating level!! Collect free boosters, but can't really use them because if you wipe out chocolate too soon, game over. By the time you collect the needed chocolates, not enough moves to clear jelly!! Need more than a lucky board!!

This is really ridiculous level. By the time your chocolates finally multiply enough, you are left with insufficient moves to the jelly. Seriously bullshit by King

Still trying to pass this one after 3 days. I didn't have any hand switches or lollipops. I think the only way to pass this game is to grow the Frog twice. The first time you grow the Frog clear either the left hand side or the right hand side but not both.
Grow the Frog again move it to the bottom of the board to clear the jellies down there. Wait for enough chocolate and Hammer with all your lollipops. Getting close wish I had a few extra moves.
Many tries. Just cleared it. Growing frog twice and using a few lollipop hammers. Still had to play slowly and strategically to grow frog twice.
the previous level was just buttering us up for this one. King trolling hard as they have been doing the last couple months. since the late 3800s this game has been atrocious
I was fortunate to have the Lucky Bows fall. A Gold Bow fell (that turns into a Special Candy) which I connected. It turned into a Pinata. The Pinata detonated itself and cleared the chocolate on the board. There were not enough chocolate to make the order so it was game over.
That was just not nice. I have seldom ever gotten the Pinata and it just wasted my game, which up until then was going fairly well.

Finally a level that I enjoyed. Keep on your toes, watch the chocolate numbers. Been a long time since there has been a level that required some strategy and winnable without boosters.
This level was fun! Started with full stocking, but don’t match a CB with another CB or a stripe/wrap. You need to get rid of the licorice to grow the chocolate, but don’t get rid of all the chocolate. You need at least one to grow it. It also seems that chocolate will try not to cover CB and Stripe/wrap. I worked on one side of the board and grew the chocolate on the other. I was able to get a CB and a stripe next to each other. I grew the chocolate to what I needed and then matched the CB and stripe. That took care of most of the board. I needed a hand switch and a hammer to finish. Good luck!

Agree - was fun!
Probably you will kill me, but I found this level real fun and wonderful! You don't need any boosters at all, but a good strategy. Like collecting stripes and/or wraps and or a CB, but not using them and getting mainly rid of the liquorice meanwhile and - most important - let the chocolate grow (better only on one side while clearing jelly on the other plus feeding and using the frog). Work slowly and deliberately. I had enough chocolate on the right side with about 9 moves left and already used the frog in the jelly when I started the combos. Finally needed exactly the 20 moves given and no boosters extra. Of course I tried a bit; around 10-12 times maybe, until it worked out fine.

I cannot believe somebody was able to pass this one. Just waiting for the minimum number of chocolates takes more than half of the available moves. Then it is very difficult to clear the jelly at the bototm and top corners. do not get any helpful bomb or wrap or other. You just have to wait for kings giving you a very very lucky board. But I cannot understand those who are saying that they had fun here. No fun at all! I've really enough of this game... I have seen there are more intelligent ones in the net, I think I'll move away from CC!

Vwry simple level. You have only to buy 100 hammers.
The only help is to move away from CC. Your health will take advantage! These levels are created by kings with the only scope of stealing your money. If you buy a lot of hollipop hammers you'll pass it easily! But I hope you'll not be so idiot to give money to those thieves!

This is not doable need a lucky board now.
I passed this level on the second try. I didn't start with any boosters because I wanted the chocolate to grow. I only had to use a lollipop hammer on the last jelly.

Got it on the third try, ran out of chocolate too early the first two times, then read the tips by Cookie and here, and watched the video. The struggle is knocking out the licorice so that you get the chocolate going early, but freeing the frog and using it on the bottom jellies, then IF you can build it up again, do so. No boosters needed, but a little luck and extreme patience/planning. Tough level, but doable. Thank you everyone, good luck and happy crushing!

Looked doable, but now I'm totally stuck. Not enough moves. Can't figure out if the spawners have to be cleared to win. If so, definitely not enough moves. Made mistake of using my two choc balls. Don't do it! Instant loss. Sigh. Out of lives so will have to wait get back at it.

Nobody has said anything about the key on the bottom part of the board?
I've used the Frog twice now to blow up that key and it doesn't unlock anything, and I never see you anymore Keys. WTF?
Has the level changed I take out one key and the board is still locked help!!
Passed no idea how. I managed to take out the key without the frog wrap/wrap combo I had a few jelly left in the locked square and used the frog and then it worked? Didn’t before when used the frog on the key really strange. Anyway moving on. To clarify just one key.

The key is not needed, but the frog needs to eat it to clear the bottom 9. Other than that follow hints above. Not that horrible.
This level is awful not sure exactly what to do I've got the key a few times but it doesn't seem to open anything I'll never get through
