Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4138 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
All you have to do to complete level 4138 Candy Crush Saga is to destroy the two spawners at the bottom of the board.
You can't make matches beside the spawners so you will have to make vertical stripes and combos to hit them. Stripe/wrap combos are good as they will hit both spawners at the same time, as will double wrap combos if you switch them at the bottom of the board. Double wrap combos will hit the spawners twice so are worth the effort of making them near the bottom.
The fish won't help at all so you may as well forget about them, they will target the spawners but they don't count as a hit when they do. The only use for the fish is that they will clear the licorice and the countdown bombs that drop if you clear one of the spawners first.
There are now 5 colours on the board which makes this level quite a bit harder than the videos show, but the strategy is the same.

I only played it once so can't determie exactly what the glitch is.
I started with tick booster and SD and swithced 2 wraps in the bottom (2 hits).
The tick booster dissapear without credit me for any spawner.
Miraculously, the 2 CBs land next to each other - third hit.
I formed 2 strip above one spawner that blow it of.
After 2 moves that delt with the bombs mess the level completed (?!).
The second spawner was still on board - i.e. glitch...
Needless to play until they change it My board has 5 colours the video only 4

Dont know how many times the spawner needs to be hit before level can be completed...
I hit the spawners so many time I lost count and still couldn’t win. How many times do you have to hit them to win, more then the moves allow!!!!!!! Feel cheated.

How many times do you have to hit the spawners? This is a ridiculous waste of time. I waited days for some new levels and now stuck on a level that is impossible to pass. So annoying!

I agree, this level is ridiculous. With 5 colors on the board, the only way I can see to get through this is to have a big supply of lollipops to hammer the spawners. Since I'm down to just a couple, this may be the end for me since I don't plan to play sugar drops for days just to acquire enough lollipops to pass one level. Check booster doesn't do anything so don't waste yours if you plan to keep playing.

Posting for luck because I don’t see any way to win this impossible level. I can hit them 1 of the 5 times necessary at the beginning with a double cb. Hitting them the other 4 times is nearly impossible. I tried Cookie’s hint of switching 2 wraps at the bottom above them. It did nothing. If the fish hits don’t count why bother. Getting a stripe wrap exactly where you need them in so few moves is a joke. I no longer find this game fun because of levels like this. This one is beyond boring. I see no way to pass it except to hit the spawners with 10 hammers. Where is the skill and fun in that? Ridiculous. Good luck everyone.
Finished on 2nd try. Hit twice with wraps combo. Job done with 14 moves to spare n 3 stars.
Come on King what gives?! What a garbage level. At least let the fish count as a hit on the spawners. While I’m on my rant... for 3 weeks now you’ve taken away my Bot, Space Dash, reset... you seriously think anyone has the time or patience to spend 3 days on every level till you reward us with a ridiculous lucky board?? It does not matter how many times I hit the spawner they never explode. I guess this is King’s version of happy new year - you should make a resolution to not play this game because it isn’t even fair.
Same with me. A really ridiculous level. Got one spawner. Used hammer on second to no avail. Then the game ended. The pinanta did its stuff and I got through. Must be a Glitch on this one.

I've been stuck here too, haven't even been able to get one of the spawners. I'll give this game a couple weeks off then come back & see if the level has changed. Game of Thrones binge watching is calling me and this level is so boring.

Another level changed before getting to it. Example is useless as it was doable then but not now. Bored to tears with this crap.

Why does king think loyal plppadept players who have gotten to this level and spent time and money doing it want a super hard level. We do not. Sick of kings money grabs and making hard working players pay to play. This is an escape for us not torture to pass impossible levels. Shame on king!!!!
Something not right with mine. How many times do the spawners need to be hit? I never get a board that makes wrapped candies.

It took 5 hits, possibly 6, to kill the spinners. But I must have missed one of them on a hit because when one blew up, there was the other spawner still sitting there . At that point bombs fell and I thought, oh no. But I only had 4 moves left anyway. I tried but Knew I was going to miss on the last move which was a stripe combination. And yes, it did miss, but to my surprise the level was complete, and I could move on!

Have to agree, the tick marker just disappeared. I hit the spanner’s many times and they still wouldn’t go!. Why on earth are we still here?
You're going to need hand switches to position candies over the spawners. I did two stripe/wraps, a double cb, and a double wrap to win. Maybe the fish added to the hits because both of mine blew up after four hits. Sometimes when I play on my pc the game changes a few of my candies to wrapped packages that then change to stripes when I match them. That's how I got enough stripes to match over the spawners. You should load up on boosters when the robot Tiffy is available. I play level 606 and 607 to load up. It's a pain scrolling back that far but how else are you going to pass?
Boring and frustrating level. With 5 colors it's quite impossible to make enough combos on the right position. And if the fish don't count as hit it's just worse. I'll need to play for a full booster robot on 3711 and try to have a better start.
I also noticed that the ribbon candies and piñata are no longer available. Either wonder beans. All this would be helpful.

Passed with a lucky board. I had already made up my mind to buy a tick or pinata as I call it. The very next level I passed. I did not do anything I hadn't done over and over again previously. All you can do here is wait for a lucky board. Hey King! Pick a finger!
Well, I got it. I tried for a whole day without any success, even collecting the pack of boosters from easy levels. But this doesn't help too much since with the first-second moves they are all gone.
Finally I had a lucky board that I started with 1 CB and 1 stripped/wrapped from any of the running challenges. I could manage some effective combos and I detonated one of the spawners. I still had some moves left in order to complete the level.
Anyway... such levels don't comply with the goal of playing, that is having fun.

Oh Seany, don't spend any money on Candy Crush ever! That's just throwing money at something rather than using skill. This was not a comfortable level though. I threw boosters that I had won on the "Space Dash" at it and that didn't work. I even used a flying saucer, and that didn't touch the spawners. It has taken me since yesterday to do this one, but I think that just now I had 1 stripe/wrap booster to start only, and for once on this level, everything fell nicely to make stripe/wrap combos that got lots of fish to hit the spawners - and I did it on my last move!

Just as I thought they stopped with ridiculous levels, I reached this one! There's no way to pass it without a ton of hammers. And what's the point of fish when they don't do anything?? Tutorial video has 4 colours and I have 5! This might be the end of playing for me!

another idiot "Kings" level. No chance to form vertical combos, too few moves, spawners to be hit 5 times each, as you cannot get NEVER a striped+wrapped, you should use 10 moves to create them and other 10 to make them working. Impossible.
One thing is to create a difficult, very difficult level, another thing is to create an IMPOSSIBLE level. Candy crush ends here. Kings, please, go to hell!

I've played endless times on three different devices and never come close even after hitting the spawners several times.
I'm all for tricky levels ....... I reckon we should expect them at this level but impossible levels just to slow the best players down are ridiculous and uneccessary.

Definitely a garbage level. Don’t waste your check marks. They do absolutely nothing. Actually, no booster or space dash or anything does anything useful. Any and all boosters are wasted. Even 15 extra moves on the wheel spin is wasted. I’ve hit those spawners many times with CB and striped and wrapped. Even double wrapped. Nothing works. I guess I’ll pass when King lets me pass.....total waste.
You lie. Fish is not valid to hit the spawners. Impossible to make combos in the only 2 columns where they are needed. This level ha been built only to oblige people to buy hammers, the only way to go through. I would buy if I could use those hammers to hit the crap head of the thieves designers !of Kings

"Dear" King- why oh why??? Fish do nothing- why have them on this level? Checked candy do not give anything special, just plain candy, why? Saucers don't target spawners, so again, why? Oh, that's right- you want to entice us to BUY boosters. But WHY? because the boosters don't do what they are intended or supposed to do! Give us what we are due!!!

Why fish? They are completely useless.
And making combinations is nearly impossible even when you use all the boosters and I had 2 hours of free colourbombs to work with. And still can't make it. That says enough.

This quite possibly could be King's or Activision's most ridiculous level yet. if you are on Level 4138, you obviously know how to play. I have had double color bombs, double wrapped, you name it, advantages, have hit the spawners more than required and still no win. That the "fish" do nothing except appear to swim over the spawner is ridiculous. Very boring.
There seems to be a new and friendly glitch. I got rid of one spawner (first time ever) and a few moves later the bombs changed to stripes and wraps even though the other spawner was still there. Weird but welcome!

Gave up using making fish after discovering that they weren't zapping the spawners-how ridiculous is that!! Got through with 2 moves left by managing to make 3 lots of stripe/wrap combos just in the right place plus another couple stripes. Onwards Crushers! It is do-able :)

Had exactly the same experience. Spawner was still there, but it counted as win.
Same. Played without boosters, hit the spawners often, one more and it exploded, one not, but 2 moves later without hitting it,the level counted as completed. I must admit I was not really sad about this glitch 😁

Well I had 2 stripe/wrap combos right above the spawners. which as stated above counts as 2 hits. Tried to hit one with a hammer. Nothing. Don't waste your hammers or boosters. King has this one tied down. :(

Amen to all the above comments. Used a full stocking several times. Plus full stocking and the extra color bomb and stripe wrap that i had. Used a hand switch to position a wrap/stripe combo directly over the spawners several times. Hit them 4 to 5 times...nothing. This is a boring BORING level. Have extra lives and have repeatedly backed out of it. As far as a money grab, did I just read Activision has a class action lawsuit filed against it? Have to pay your lawyers somehow
How weird is this? I finally destroyed one spawner with one move left. In desperation used my last spaceship and hammer to try and kill the other and failed . But..... it just let me through anyway !!!

Been playing this level for days never destroying one spawner from hell. All striped I make are horizontal which r useless since the fish do nothing to the spawners from hell. Frustrating as hell and not fun at all. King has some explaining to do with this poorly designed level

All I am getting is boards that wasdte my time...don't mind to play ten or twenty games to win but now it takes so long. I have tred using boosters but they are just wasted. not deeming to get opportunity to make anything above the spawners..lots on the sides which are useless. Boring is not an adequate description for this game. I've played boring. This is just stupid. If you're thinking about moving on from CC, this is probably a good time. Otherwise, just keep going through the motions. It's bound to pass sooner or later. There is no strategy to use. It's near impossible to make combos in the places you need them to be, and even if you do, you need several (I don't know how many yet since I haven't broken a spawner). Don't waste your money or your boosters.

Don’t even bother trying to win. Just play over and over and eventually you will get thru. I played for days and no matter how many times I hit the damn spawners, I didn’t destroy one. Don’t get me wrong, most attempts I barely hit them at all. Stupid stripes were always on the outside columns. Then, one random attempt, a spawner somehow got destroyed. I threw everything at the other one. 2 hammers and a couple stripes moved by switches later, I was out of boosters and out of moves. Was going to lose it. Spent 7 gold to spin the wheel for +5 moves. Had to try as this was the only time I had destroyed one of the spawners. Got loser boosters instead. Spent another 7 (only 5 left now so last chance). Got the +5. Made a stripe and it launched on its own in the wrong column. Didn’t hit the remaining spawner. Then, game told me I won. Was looking at the other spawner sitting there as the end of game crush began. WTF? Not complaining, just noting for all that it’s just f’ed, total BS, and a load of cr@p. Hated the level, thankful for the fake win.
What an utterly ridiculous boring level. I have hit the spawners loads of times but they just do not explode. I'm not sure what to do to pass this level? The fish are a waste of time and if I get stripes they generally are of the horizontal type not vertical. Posting for luck before I throw the towel in on the whole game
What a really ridiculous level. I have tried all of the tips and not even close. I have hit spawners 5 times and nothing. I have used every booster I have, still nowhere near. I have persevered with this level but have now reached my limit. I am going to leave it a few days now and might try again if I cant find another game. Posting for a lucky board if I return please

I'm over this super hard level crap. It's only super hard because they make it that way. Life is a super hard level. All I want to do is play a game and enjoy it, not fight these freaking anxiety inducing spawners. I can't waste my time on this sh!t anymore. It'll only be made easy when enough people pay to get through this cash cow level. Candy crush makes their money by people buying the extras to make it through "super hard" (I.e. Practically impossible) levels. I am not one of those people and I think I'd rather go scrub my toilet again than keep playing this waste of my life and time on this so-called game. It's not a game if you can't win people! Just a money maker for candy crush.
Not sure if combos are making hits on the spawners, difficult to know how many times they have been hit... unfortunately not enough hammers to hit out the spawners... waiting it out....from the looks of the comments... I might be here awhile

Not even close. If you try to play the game is against you. If you don't try yo play you management better - just to move color balls randomly. Strange. Maybe lucky board is coming. The maximum hit to spawner is 3 so far.
