Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4998 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4998 Candy Crush Saga is classified as a hard level so you can expect to lose a few lives before you manage to pass it. This is a dual task level, you have to collect the cherries and clear the jelly to complete the level.
The cherries will more or less look after themselves if you can clear the waffles out of the way and keep the licorice under control. They will drop out of the exits as soon as there is space for them to drop.
The fish from the fishing floats are very important as they will target the bombs, so it will always be useful to use combos to hit the floats whenever possible. Once the bombs are gone the fish will target the jelly, but if there is licorice or waffles on top of the jelly the fish will be less effective in clearing the jelly.
Stripe/wrap combos are a very good combos as they will clear the waffles and jelly as well as hit the floats and give fish. Colourbomb combos are also useful as usual as the stripes or wraps from these will hit the fishing floats as well as the jelly and other things that need clearing.

You can’t win this game without lots of fish, a few hand switches and at least 2 hammers. Twice I would have won it if I would only had one more hammer.
Only one comment so far? I'm having trouble with this level. Can't get past the licorice filling in the jelly squares.

I played it last night and had a lot of difficulty, before viewing the blog, following basically the same strategy that Cookie lays out. I couldn't quite get there, and the licorice would advance far enough to block me from collecting the last few jellies. I passed with a handful of moves to spare just now, had gone back to 3711 to build the booster bot back up to full, added a fish booster, and made as many combinations as I could (color bomb with anything, striped + wrapped, or wrapped + wrapped seem to be the best combinations, I never made a wrapped + wrapped combination and the only color bomb combination I made was with a wrapped candy), found the level easier with the good start (which seems to be critical here). As Eric S says, full bot and go further for 10 minutes of colorbomb. Tried this level many times. Finally used a hammer to get a double colorbomb. Licorice gone. A few moves later a hand switch to get 2 wraps together. The fish ended it. Good luck! dr

Try to make stripe:wrap combos near fish dispensers on left. They will clear lots and cherries will fall. Used 1 switch and 1 lollipop to finish with no moves left. Also that same combo will help at start to get more bombs with one move. Good luck!
After the pain of 4996 you come across this!! Impossible, time to quit!!!!
2 colour bomb combos and still couldn’t pass!!! Why is this so hard?
With double colour bombs to start three times over, it was still a fail. And without boosters? Forget it. You won't even clear the countdown bombs. Nasty level.

This one is probably so difficult because we are so close to 5000.
No doubt the next one will be a horror, too (assuming we ever get to it).
I used a UFO to clear the last jelly that needed multi hits.
The UFO didn't hit anything in the conveyor (left) section.
However, it did hit near floats so fish came out and left the jelly needing one hit.
I was able to make a horizontal stripe and it was game over.
Whew. This was a nasty one.

Tried using a launcher and it cleared some. Wasted the second launcher as it didn’t even go near the last square. Ugh.
So excited I got 15 more moves. The fish won’t destroy the last one. Ugh ugh

Impossible level, liquorice blocks moves, don't have enough hand switches or hammers to waste, had enough of this game
This is the worst level for a long time, been here for days now, so bored with it. Got down to 1 uncovered jelly once but had no hammer, used 2 precious hand switches to line up a stripe on lsst few (extra moves from gold bars), thought I'd got it when a liquorice covered it, not been so close since. I've had it with this game! No fun any more!
Earn't 20 mins of coconut wheel (can't use on this level!) no bot, no more lives, c..p game!

How about this BS...i only needed 1 jelly had enough gold bars to buy hammer but it "failed to contact store"...so ok I'll spin the wheel get extra moves..guess what? Wheel keeps spinning and spinning won't stop...but I'm able to exit the game no problem...and i had i been spending in the credit cars and not gold bars i bet the store coulda been contacted real fast...I'm done at 5000 if i ever get past this level

That's exactly what I thought when I realized the level number.
The 1st move king gives you is a sprinkle, the 2nd a stripe, then u easily match them up. Then the board allows you to make wraps and stripes and combine them! You must be related to cookie and king! I never get boards like that! I just spent 3 days on a previous level! I call bs

P.S. I had played several times adding CB and stripe/wrap starting boosters but the last time was NO boosters! I don't know if this was chance or not.

Mais de quinze dias neste nível e não consigo passar. Realmente este é o final do CC para mim. Não gastem boosters. Gastei todos e não consegui passar. Melhor parar com este jogo ridículo. Existem coisas melhores na vida. Adeus. Sorte para quem fica.

Good tips Cookie--once again CC King techs lowered the moves & increased the Jellies. So far bombs have gone off before I even got in a few moves.
Another rotten level that needs boosters & extra moves--so Players have to PAY to play any more.

This video is nothing like the present one. This one is superhard so i count on one to two weeks to pass. The following 30 has 3 superhard, 7 nightmare and 5 hard.nightmare normally takes 2-3 weeks, superhard 1-2 weeks and hard 5-7 days. So it will take about 2-3 months to pass. Those of us not being at the front end will never ever in this century get to the top and our only purpose is to pay for the joy of those at the front end who play a completely different game. Please give me a lucky board.

I'm so over these levels where the only difficulty is that they've whittled the number of moves down to an impossible amount to entice you to buy extra moves. I'll be stuck here for a while unless I happen on the lucky board aka algorhythm.
