Hints and tips showing how to pass level 5177 Candy Crush Saga by Cookie
Level 5177 Candy Crush Saga is classified as a nightmarishly hard level so you are unlikely to pass it without boosters, including gold to buy extra moves. This is an orders level, you have to collect countdown bombs and chocolate to complete the level.
At the start of the level there are double colourbomb combos in the middle of the board, don't switch the first combo straight away, save it until it is needed to clear the bombs before they count down to zero.
The chocolate will be provided by the lucky candies and when you get chocolate you should leave it to grow while you work in other sections to collect the bombs. It is important to collect as many bombs as possible by creating cascades whenever possible. If you can collect the bombs quickly enough you will then get chocolate from all the lucky candies that drop.
Avoid using sideways stripes that might hit any of the colourbombs, you need to keep the colourbombs and the crystal candies covering them intact until you are ready to switch them.
Once the bombs are collected and the chocolate is growing leave it to grow but try to get more lucky candies dropping so you get as many chocolates as possible. Once all the colourbombs are used any remaining chocolate will need to be collected some other way and making matches may not be possible so it can be down to using boosters to complete the orders.
I doubt that this level is possible without using boosters or extra moves, or both. The video below was made using extra moves and a hammer plus a UFO to finish off the orders.

If ever it was needed I will post for luck. Yesterday it wasn't classified as Nightmarishly Hard, now they changed the status. Eventually they will let me pass because they know I don't have a lot of boosters, right? It does seem to be making more chocolate today, I can only hope. Just Me -it depends where you are playing. I can only get this level on the laptop not anywhere else, not released elsewhere.

I finally finished the level today. I had the full bot to help me, I didn't use any other boosters or extra lives. I just got the chocolate to grow when ever possible. It did some cascading in the end when I thought I had lost and formed more chocolate. Maybe it was a lucky board but I wouldn't waste a UFO on it. I used one colorbomb from the bot to get rid of some bombs. Be careful not to let a stripe clear on of the bombs in the middle(like I did accidentally) Took two days, now everyone says look out for 5180.

I passed with 14 moves to spare on my first try. I used a check candy booster and when they show in one of the 9-square boxes, match it and most of the time the check candy will turn into chocolate. Let it grow in that box and match other check candies in other boxes. Some mini cascades will also happen in some boxes. When the bombs countdown is just one, switch the two color bombs in the middle. In my case, there were enough chocolate and bombs on that board to complete the order, the CB combo finished the level with 14 moves to go.
5180 is not that bad. I passed it on the first try with 12 moves to go. 5187 is real hard and tricky. I got 6 tries already and 2 of them, I got the "Oops, Game Over" and I don't know yet why it did.

I passed 5186 on the 7th try. Since Cookie does not have her tip on this level, here is my tip.
The main problem is the yellow key on the bottom left. You can only collect it through a CB combo. A horizontal stripe at the bottom won't help because of the locked licorice in the middle blocks the stripe's strike to the key. Near the top left, there is a color bomb dispenser which releases color bombs that will fall on the board. Some of them will be eaten by the chocolate. When thw chocolate grows to 9 slready (what you need for the order) switch 2 color bombs when they get side by side. It will also collect the yellow key and will unlock the board. Once the board is unlocked, you can then clear the jellies to pass the level. I did not try it but you can also collect the yellow key with a hammer.

5190 is very difficult, too. It took me about 7 tries also to pass it. Finished the three episodes again this week. Till next Wednesday.
How did you get this level on August 7th, and we just got it today August 14? WTH! Still can't figure out why everyone is not able to play the same levels on the same day!

This is easy now. Needed 40 chocolates before, now just 25.
I used the check mark but still ended up needing a UFO to finish it off since one of my moves knocked out a middle sprinkle. It was a level I didn't want to have to keep repeating.

Now we’re being told we can’t finish this level without boosters and gold bars to buy extra moves. How greedy can King get. I for one will quit before I contribute to their greed.

Relax Scotty. It has been changed and is easy to pass now without any boosters, not even the BOT which has been missing for me since Monday. I've played it twice since it was changed, passed both times without problems.
You now need 50 chocolates. It's incredibly boring and not doable. To add insult to the injury of an impossible goal, sometimes the double choc ball switch leaves one remaining 1 count bomb. Or, as just happened again (I keep playing it in hope that it's been fixed), the double ball switch goes off, but then there's a bomb exploded message.
Needs major fixing.

When I wrote the double ball switch goes off, I meant when I set it off, not that it's going off by itself.

Yes they changed it back to 40 chocolates, so now it's impossible again. There has been a lot of issues with the windows 10 app the past week. But now finally my BOT is back. It has been missing for a week.
On my iPad it's 50 needed. I no longer have the bot. I'm not going to waste more gold bars as I probably won't get chocolate, and even if I do, I won't have enough hammers to get rid of it. I've never gotten to below 20 needed (usually not even close to that) and am giving up on Candy Crush unless it's fixed.
Please fix it now.
Really struggling with this one. The ticks don't always produce chocolate, even when the required amount of bombs has been collected. Yesterday I won 15 extra moves and the ticks didn't produce any chocolate. Impossible! I don't have any boosters left, will have to wait for a lucky board.

This is not possible to pass at 50 chocolates needed. I've contacted King only to be sent to YouTube videos which show people passing at 26 needed. I don't understand why they won't fix it. They have plenty of other players, and perhaps those like me who've never paid for boosters don't matter. But that's a shame, as we've been loyal fans of the game to have played for so long.

I got it on the 3rd try, thanks for all the tips. I built up the chocolate ( I also started with the tick booster). I used my precious flying saucer on the last move and it worked by detonating a tick booster and giving me the last chocolate that I needed.
Questions for anyone who's passed this recently. How many chocolates have been needed? Anyone done it with the 50 I need, as opposed to the lesser requirements on the YouTube videos? If so, how? This level is stopping me from playing.

Suggestions please from Ms. Cookie or anyone else as to King contact (I'm not on Facebook)-
My 5177 on iPad (all I have) needs an impossible 50 chocs and I've been stuck for weeks. Each of the maybe ten times I've complained to Candy Crush Saga Customer Care they've replied with the same suggestion page containing 'help" like watching YouTube videos (none that I saw needing more than 26 chocs) followed a day or two later by a request to rate their thoroughly lacking customer service. I've asked them each time to lower my impossible 50 at least to what others have needed, and asked several times to also fix the choc ball switch which doesn't always explode everything, neither of which has happened.
Been playing for years, but will have to stop unless one of you kind and helpful folks has a further King contact or other suggestion.

I was letting the bombs go til the last min before doing the CB combinations. They clicked down to 1, I switched 2 CBs, AND IT LEFT ONE ON THE BOARD TO KILL ME.

What is happening? I'm using the double color bomb when the bombs count down to 1 in order to let the chocolate grow and it is ending the level saying a bomb exploded. The double clears all candies, bombs and chocolate. Plus, I can't get any checkmarks to drop most of the time!

It took me 3 tries, but I finally got it. If anything happens to take out one of the CB in the center, your doomed.
Start by making matches with the bombs; keep doing this until the countdowns hit 1 then clear the board with a double CB swap. Repeat, and let any chocolate grow as much as possible.
I think I had 2 moves left when I got past this one.

I've just now got to this level so I'm hoping you're already done with it. But to answer your question about the chocolates. I'm playing on an Android phone, I don't know if that makes a difference cos I don't play Candy Crush on anything else. I need 200 bombs and 35 chocolates with 26 moves. Even after getting all the bombs needed either no lucky candies drop or they turn into bombs. The best I've managed is still needing six chocolates.

Used my only check booster. Had choc growing constantly. Used cb combos at last second each time and still fail needing approx 10 choc. I'm done. It's a no go for me. Guess just lucky board needed since playing exactly the way to get it done...didnt . lol. Sad

I am gonna have to quit this bloody game just due to the graphics! Bomb levels are so much flashing that you can’t see the screen and instant headache! Ridiculous and adds nothing to the gameplay itself! Get rid of the crazy graphics! Fire the intern who says more flashing is good!

This is an absolute joke, chocolate doesn’t fall anywhere near as quickly as it does in the video! Moves can sometimes be nearly used before any chocolate drops!! I don’t have enough gold bars to buy extra lives, and I’ve got this far without buying any so I’m not starting now!!
See, this is what burns my a$$ about this game.....absolutely NO strategy required at all....unless you count waiting for the candy gods to give you a lucky board as “strategic” 🙄. If the special candies turned to chocolate at the same rate they turn to bombs, that would be great! Otherwise, just play over and over and over until you get a lucky board. Grrrr

Jill, some people call it a checkmark booster or tic booster or, as Rick said, a check candy booster. You can find out how all of the boosters work on the community page.
Collect the bombs asap as Cookie advised and then all checkmarks will turn to chocolate.

Some people have hundreds or even thousands of boosters and gold. You can pass anything with enough boosters and extra moves. Don't waste your time on them. Most of us play fair. Good luck.

Followed Cookie's tips and they were perfect! Used no boosters. Collect the bombs as quickly as possible. I combined the first pair of CB'S when bombs got down to 2 given the comments from players. Once the bombs are collected, all checkmarks will turn into chocolate when matched. Try to let the chocolate grow in some sections and use the other CB combos to help collect your bounty. It took me 3-4 tries and requires careful attention to the board to succeed. Good luck everyone.
I completed this level WITHOUT BOOSTERS! If you want to do this without boosters, follow Laura's comment, maximizing the number of chocolate generated until you get to one move left, and your last double CB's left, you should have seven or less chocolates to go. Play the CB, then cross your fingers. If you are lucky, there will be enough spontaneous chocolates squelched to get the count down to zero.

What a crock. I had to use my 1st 2 CB on my bombs that were at 1, a check mark and lots of chocolate. When the double CB went off and cleared my board it turned my check mark into a 0 bomb and ended that game. You think I’m going to spend my money on your crock of (boosters)? Posting for luck
No strategy at all! This level needs you to buy boosters! NO WAY KING,! I have spent too much already on this rip off game! The double chocolate will leave 1 or 2 bombs untouched to make you lose.! What a terrible stupid game! I quit!
SOOOOO over this - I don't mind a challenge but when the game is rigged even getting extra 29 more tries and NO 0 zilch chocolate to help me get the last 2 that were needed to pass I'm done. I used to enjoy this game but during this time in our lives I don't need the added stress. I will take my attention/money elsewhere..

Another bullshit level brought to you by King. Check marks turn into chocolate but get wiped out by 3 in a row next to it. Eventually a chocolate block pops up and grows to fill the 8 squares but no more check marks drop into play. Swap the first 2 colorbombs and start over trying to get check marks to drop, which they don't. Every game ends with 14 or 15 chocolates needed and no check marks. Fun, fun, fun til her daddy takes the computer away. Boring.

Great Tips by Cookie--I now have some idea of what to do---haven't gotten close yet. I FREEZE up & panic when there are BOMBS--------I predict I will be on this level until I BUY my way out with either booster or Extra moves.
CHANGE that plan--bombs explode GAME OVER--so buying moves won't work.
