Hints and tips showing how to pass level 5559 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Uncover the bomb in the middle of the board using a stripe or a wrap, then look for chances to make colourbombs to clear it with for the best scores. You can also clear licorice from the bottom right section using wraps or stripes, this will allow a colourbomb to drop from the dispenser top right. Switch this with a candy the same colour as the bomb if you can. If you can't switch the colourbomb with the bomb colour switch it anyway to give you a chance to make more colourbombs.

After several failed attempts, I took Cookie's advice and passed. Mainly I focused on matching CB's to the color of the bomb.

Cookie - thank you SO MUCH that you (though - understandably - quitting to comment all levels) still write your advices when it's too difficult..., soo helpful. I'd be level 4000 without you!!
Also here.... Numerous senseless attempts, also with and later without bot.... Not even near. with your advice I made it first try! The solution is as written to focus on and use those CBs falling in the corners. One needs at least to hit 5 or 6 bombs in the middle to get the score needed.

Bombs don't seem to be worth as much lately when destroyed by a color bomb when there is only one destroyed. This level only gives one at a time and so it has been impossible to collect enough points to finish the level. All the videos from last year show players getting a whole lot more points for their color bombs. Did King change the scoring recently?
In the walkthrough videos, players are winning after seeing off about 4 matching color bombs. I have played games w seeing off over 8 of them but haven't even scored half of the required 250000 points.
