Hints and tips showing how to pass level 7031 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie

I will post videos for every level and write tips where I think they are needed but otherwise please feel free to give your tips in the comments.
Tips: Level 7031 is classified as a hard level so you can expect to lose some lives before you manage to pass it. This is an orders level, you have to collect bubblegum and cherries and clear the two cakes to complete the level.
Work on clearing the cakes and the bubblegum and the cherries will find their way to the exits. This is a fairly easy level to complete at the time of writing but this could change in the future.

Finally got it by using 1 hammer on the last piece of cake, the bubblegum helped as well, good luck...

I am totally frustrated with CC . A lot of the levels now don’t give you enough moves and the chances of gaining boosters has been markedly reduced. The fun has been taken out of the game

Made it through on my first attempt before viewing the blog with a partial bot entering the level. Cookie's tips are right on the money, as usual. Get to the cakes first, plow through the bubblegum at the center next to the cakes, make combinations to strike both the bubblegum and cakes where you can. Once you make enough room, a stripe + wrapped combination should finish off one or both cakes. If you can make a color bomb, try to combine it with another special candy. ANY other special candy. I was able to make a double color bomb combination to complete the second cake and the bubblegum, along with the last cherries, with a few moves to spare. Very difficult level, not impossible, but just not enough moves ;(
After dozens of tries, I haven't yet been able to fishish a cake, so forget about the cherries, aaarrrggghhhh!!!!!

I can't get to the cakes either. By the time your get to the bottom of the board boom...you are out of moves! Posting for luck as nothing else is working.:(

Well I guess I got to this level after it was made harder! Been on this level for days and have only gotten 1cake, 1 time! I need help!
Played many times. Had multiple good starts and made some excellent combos. Still can’t pass. Help.
