Hints and tips showing how to pass level 2988 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
You have to collect keys to unlock the locked cells in the top left of the board and in order to collect the keys you need to clear the cakes as the keys drop down from the dispensers once the cakes are gone. There is also jelly under the cakes, although it is a single layer so it will be cleared by the cakes.
First get rid of the licorice while at the same time looking for chances to make stripes and wraps. Stripe/wrap combos will take care of the cakes quickest. Colourbombs don't help much to begin with, even if switched with a stripe they tend not to do much clearing of the cakes. Colourbombs will, however help to collect the keys once the cakes are gone.

Omg!! Are they serious?! Clear the licorice, clear the cakes, clear the jelly, collect the keys and Cookie failed to mention there is a spawner to clear underneath the locked pieces. All this is 20 moves??!! You will need luck AND prayer.
Space dash plus swaps and hammers since the combos never occurred in the right places. I finally unlocked the top left keys and when I hammered the last piece of the cake, thank goodness it cleared the spawner and the last jelly. I also used a fish, but I don't know if it helped much. At least one time it set off and interfered with a combo I was trying to move. Good luck win this nasty level!

Been at this level for days. Combos just explode and do nothing to cakes. Not enough moves to get close to passing.
I know I've said this before, but can't see a way to master this level with so few moves, not easy to make combos that hit the right places, waiting for a lucky board...again!

I can't get anywhere on this level. Even when I get lucky enough to get special candies they don't help. They either detonate before I can get them in a good spot or I can't get enough of them to do anything. I've been playing this level for a couple of days and I've only managed to unlock the blocked candies twice and I never have enough moves to clear the jelly under them. I'm not sure how this level can be beat. I guess I'll just wait for a lucky board since I'm one of the unfortunate people who doesn't get space dash.
Simple question how can you deduct 38 moves from the level when video shows he needed the full 58 moves.

Candy Crush is totally unfair! Why do they change the number of moves to complete a level????? How is it fair that some players get to a level and are able to pass the level because there were more moves available to them, then King lowers the number of moves to complete the level. What a scam. All King cares about is selling boosts! Assholes!
A double sprinkle ball absolutely does clear parts of the cakes. Finally!

I get tired of people crying about how hard a level is and threatening to never play again. So many boosters are given out now compared to a few years ago,it's so easy to clear a level. If this is making you so miserable, try something else,like helping the homeless
Just got through the level...just luck. Someone once said this game has nothing to do with skill...just patience. I refuse to spend money so I just have to be patient and wait for THE board.

Wow. Really hard and played 100+ times not getting close but again I went back, got the helmet with +3. Did not reset as usual because it really didn't do anything previously with all the licorice to clear. Played as carefully as I could, used 1 hand switch and my last hammer and cleared it. The extra 3 moves helped. ~Anna

The only way I was able to beat it was to scroll back to the beginning, play levels 3-5 and get to the magic helmet with 3 extra moves. Then back to this level and start with a sprinkle, restarting until they are side by side. This worked!

Karl Zook, I'm going to explain you something: There are people like me that never had a helmet, so it's impossible to pass almost any level unless king gives us a lucky board that happens once we've played hundreds of times. We are so tired of this unfair situation and, im my case, is not a threaten, it's a real fact that once I 'll pass level 3000 I'll quit this nightmare for ever.
Ridiculous and just not fun
Impossible, finally gave up and used the party blaster thingy, it was the only way to clear it all.
Started by using 2 CB side by side. Clears the jellies and licorice and helps with cake bombs. Used a fish booster and it helped clear the bottom cake to get keys. Used stripes and was done with 5 moves to spare. It is doable. Plus lucky board helps.
This game is horrible!! Candy crush is becoming very unfun:-(

This level is difficult enough!! I hate that we have to wait for a lucky board!! When I use boosters, & strategically move them to clear cake or jelly & the self detonate!! That sucks the most!!! Wasted a hand switch to move a color bomb next to another color bomb. I did not get to combine the color bombs!!! Because they self detonated!!! Waste of color bombs, hand switch, & my time!!! I hate this game!!
And NO the color bombs were not on the conveyor!!

Thank you so much for the tip about going back to early levels to get extra levels to get boosters! I did levels 3 to 6 again and got 3 extra moves, a colour bomb, a wrapped and a striped candy! Started the level again and again until the colour bombs were close together then completed the level using 2 candy hammers.

Not having any luck. Have started with multiple boosters and STILL can't get even close. Best I can get is one cake cleared with only 5 moves left. Not enough! Any other suggestions other than a lucky board? Seems to me that skill is useless on this level!!!

Maybe CC know that many will quit at 3000 because it's become tedious. They would like as much income as poss. I personally never pay for boosters etc and wait for the lucky board which always turns up in the end. This one seems impossible!

This is a ridiculous level. Not enough moves to come close. Specials don't hit cakes..stripes don't come close to hitting cakes..always in wrong spot..everything blows up and does nothing..if you happen to clear a cake can't get the key...boring and impossible...been on this level way too long

The bottom cake doesn't have it's clearing the board explosion after all the cake is done? Twice now this has happened perhaps it is correct but then what is the point of the cake bomb at all?

You have to have them to use them. The previous levels are so rediculous boosters get sucked up.
One of the worse levels yet. Every one is worse then the one before and takes days or hours to pass. Just no fun anymore. I can see why people are quitting. Thats what happens when you get too greedy king!

Immediately after posting I cleared both cakes at the same time with only one move left. Next life cleared one cake, got the keys and cleared the spawner but couldn’t get the other cake. That same thing happened next 2-3 lives. It’s like I can get one or the other, spawner or cakes, but not both 😬😬😬😬
