Hints and tips showing how to pass level 3987 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 3987 is classified as a hard level so you can expect to lose a few lives before you manage to pass it without boosters although, unlike many hard levels, it is possible.
The lucky candies which will give you the yellow candies drop from the top right and before they can drop into the board you need to do two things, first you need to clear the marmalade from the lucky candy in the top right square, then you need to clear some of the waffles from the bottom left section as this is where they will drop into.
You can either use a stripe or a colourbomb to remove the marmalade or if you are really struggling to clear it you can use the frog, but this should be a last resort as you will need the frog to clear some of the waffles in the bottom left. You can use combos to clear waffles as well as the frog but don't waste moves trying to grow the frog, instead look for chances to make combos and let the frog grow as you work on clearing the waffles.
You will need some powerful combos once the lucky candies begin to drop, colourbomb/wrap or colourbomb/stripe combos will be helpful as will stripe/wrap combos.

Can.t even get close. Best was still needing 15 yellow. Can.t get checks to drop. Impossible level. Getting tired of candy crusch’
I am stumped for the first time ever on a level, can’t get anywhere near it even with two c/b and extra moves. I think it is telling me it is time to stop.

What I mind is the dishonesty. These levels are released to the CC bloggers so they can post a video showing (with luck and skill) how to pass. Then King move the goalposts by doubling the necessary targets or reducing the moves and even adding impossible extra baffles, as in 3983: note that Johny Crush rightly called this game 'disgraceful'. So at this level 10 yellow candles have suddenly become 20; and the lucky candles are just not released from the top, as we're told they are, so that all the boosters in the world can't make them arrive. Either it's a glitch or, more likely, cynical greed on King's part. For God's sake, make it tough but not impossible; let us get to 4000 and stop.

Sorry but this 'slight change but strategy and task remain the same' nonsense is getting silly. The task is now 19 yellow candies instead of the 10 shown AND clearing an extra layer off 14 waffles in the same number of moves and you tell us the task is the same?? Strategy? There is no such thing. And 'possible without boosters unlike many hard levels'? Absolute rubbish. This is the first and only level that is impossible even with a complete armoury of boosters. Sorry to sound critical of you, Cookie, but you and we are all being conned.

My strategy to pass this level will be wait until they fix it. I think the programmers from King are very angry with excelent players like Roger75 which has never paid a penny to them.
If you have a CB to start with, reset until the frog and covered check top right are same color and start hitting that. Still not enough moves to pass yet.

I think the only individuals lucky (skilled also😊) enough to complete this level BEFORE king changed the completion goal are those playing through Facebook/computer or however you would say that. Not on a phone. The computer versions of the levels are released well before mobile versions and this is AFTER those finishing have asked for more newer harder levels! Instead of launching more episodes it seems they revert back to those previously launched, most recent, and condense the likeliness of mobile players completing. I’m a mobile player. This level sucks! I would love the version first released, we all would!

What’s the point of playing it. Collecting 19 candies in 25 moves isn’t possible. Just a waste of time. I’ve tried without full SD and there’s been times where I haven’t even collected one. 9 or 10 is achievable with full boosters. But 19!!!!!! No chance.
I was planning to delete from all my devices at 4k but have just revised that after being on this level for several days

Zo jammer....Zo'n leuk spel. Speel je het al jaren en kom je zo'n onmogelijke level tegen. Daar gaan we weer.....weken wachten tot CC merkt: dit kan beter.
Had full build a bot, got it 1st try, 4 moves to spare, surprised after reading above comments, onward!
First try, 12 moves left
Go down to level 1, play it 7 times and get your fully loaded booster powers (2CB’s, 2w/s combos and 3 extra moves). Next go into your level and back out resetting your board until you get a wrapped/striped combo directly above the frog and across from the marmalade covered lucky candy. (This will be your first move) IN ADDITION TO THIS- make sure your 2 CB’s WILL NOT BE DESTROYED BY THE W/S combo OR the other wrappedcandy and check the position of the 2nd STRIPED CANDY! So more or less be sure you can cross your w/s combo as mentioned and the other 2 special (NOT LUCKY, special) candies are ON THE TOP OF THE BOARD! Now, if I haven’t lost you yet 🥵, let’s continue....if this filled the frog move him down to the bottom where your luckys will need to be matched and you will need to start getting rid of all those waffles in the bottom left corner, this will be your second move. If your first move (w/s combo) DID NOT fill the frog, your 2nd move will be your 2 CB’s crossed! Took me a week SOLID to devise this tedious plan, and I will be honest and forthright, I did need to squash 1 last lucky, unfortunately at the very end or I would have been forced to “play on” but I had a hammer so I used it. Good luck, this level SUCKS! I hope you all kick some butt!
Those of you who can reset the board please tell us what kind of device you are playing on. I'm on Android and lose a life and lose the bot boosters when trying to reset.
As for the player who thinks the rest of us buy boosters, that just isn't so. I haven't given King a cent tho I'm sure they make $ from the ads I watch.
Done 1st time don't know if I had lucky board but had full space bot & started with 2cb together also added check booster hope this helps people
Anonymous at 00:33, select the level, push play, hit the pink settings button in the bottom left corner,choose the arrow pointing left with the vertical rectangle that looks like a door. This should take you right back out. If it doesn’t and forces you to either play or end game then it probably is due to the device you are playing on. I’m on an iPhone and iPad. This feature does not work on any other King game though, only candy crush saga.
Got this first try. 15 yellows not 19. Maybe they changed it back? Or maybe I got a lucky board? Used the check and started with a double CB. that cleared all the waffles and I just had to collect yellows. I did have 2 moves left. Used the frog to get my last 2 yellows. Good luck everyone!
It’s 15 yellows now. Got it with the space dash and a check booster. So glad I wasn’t to this level until they changed it. I thought I was adjusting to not being able to keep the space dash and the super hard games by just not playing much. If I let a level go for 2-3 days, King seemed to deal me an easier board. However, today there is no more space Dash Available. Seems they Answered all our complaints about going back to Easy levels to get it, by removing it completely. My hiatus from this may last forever this time. King is experimenting with us to see how strong our addiction is. Some will probably decide to spend some money for boosters, but not me. Thanks for all your help and hints Cookie! Loved the blog too.

seeing the horror stories above I guess I got lucky by only now reaching this level when it's 15 yellows. and by lucky I mean being stalled on that absurd triple episode release. anyways I passed this first try with many moves to spare. lucky candy booster helped a lot and clearing the waffles quick so the frog could get at the falling lucky candy
You know CC has gone too far when you can’t even come close with the full helmet and starting out with a double CB combo.
I am amazed, must have been very lucky. I started with a double CB allowed the bottom left to fill with lucky candles and put the frog into the centre of them. Finished with 7 moves left!!!!
I had full SD and 33 moves!!! and ONLY 15 yellows required! I am living the dream. Didn’t need lucky board, waffles in lower left were single layer.

These last few levels are all about using all your boosters, they are impossible without them! Lucky board please king only way you get through this if you don’t have them. 🤦♀️🙏🙌

I have won this game twice. You need to get that corner check candy assp. It does help to have a sprinkle to get it with a candy of same color. Helps to use extra moves. Good luck.

I used the check booster but didn't get but 1 check candy. After the last level, I thought maybe this one would be fun. This one is impossible. I was going to uninstall after my last life on the last level then got a double coconut wheel and won. That being sai, this pos level is hideous. So close to 4000 and yet I've lost interest. What's the point in adding frustration and disappoint into my already challenging life? There isn't one. So this is it. Last life. Last game. Gone. No fun anymore. King makes 609k a day. I'm going blind from all the ads. Amazing how they've sold out. Its disgusting. Fun? Relax? More fake news.

Got it on 2nd attempt, no boosters. You just have to pay attention, use moves that are going to get the check marks moving to the lower left, then blast with a full frog when you get close. Easy Peasy.

I used a similar strategy to most of the others, similar to Kim Amey's strategy on 11/29/2018. I had 19 yellows to collect, with the thicker waffles. I play 3711 (much closer to scroll to, and a little challenging, but not requiring luck, and fast to clear. This makes it ideal for me. Full boosters (2 CB, 2 S/W, +3 moves) along with adding a check mark booster, and I was able to pass on my first or second try. I also make sure that I try to collect my 180 sugar drops at least once daily, so I can get more free boosters that I can supplement the full space dash/bot/stockings/lucky letters or whatever else King calls them (usually tied to whatever the nearest holiday is) on the extra difficult levels like this one. I wasn't bold enough to try without boosters when I first saw the level. I also cannot seem to back out without losing boosters and/or lives, even before a first move, so I don't do that. Hopefully, my strategy helps anyone complete this level that is still stuck on it. I echo the sentiments that if we aren't among the first to try a level, it gets made much more difficult and seems to require full boosters, sound strategy, and some luck for MOST levels (pretty much anything after about 3500 and around October/November 2018). They are doing it to sell more booster packages or extend rounds. I have never paid King anything that I didn't already receive from them in the form of gold bars, and I don't intend to start. I do watch the ads for extra boosters, free spins, and other niceties. I contribute to their bottom line in that way only. It's a small price for me to pay for otherwise free entertainment. This game is impossible. It’s become pointless to play without boosters as the chances of passing each level are like 1 in a thousand. The daily booster wheel is nice and it allows for about 2 days of playing with boosters in order to have a fair shot. But then we have to log in and not play every day for two weeks just in order to build up enough boosters to play for 2 days. I’m totally willing to spend money on the game but it’s SO EXPENSIVE! Its now about $50 a week in order to have enough boosters and moves to make it fair. I wish King would offer a monthly subscription. I’d pay $15 a month. Or maybe if King was better about giving away boosters and moves. I think Candy Crush Soda and Candy Crush Jelly have been successful at that.
