Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4040 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4040 is an ingredients level, you have to collect three cherries to complete the level.
The exits are at the bottom of the board so this is where the way needs to be cleared, all the other things such as the popcorns and bombs on the right, are distractions. Obviously you have to make sure the bombs are cleared before the count down unless you can collect the ingredients before this.
Wrapped candies are the best way to clear the locked licorice and if you can switch two of them together better still. Use the conveyor to get the wrapped candies into the best position to do the most damage to the locked candies and popcorns.
Colourbombs can be used to clear the bombs and switch with a wrapped candy if you can. Stripes can be useful, but they are blocked by licorice so are less helpful than wraps when there is licorice in the way.

I’m really missing Cookie’s tips and the comments from my fellow crushers. Ever since King threw us off with three episodes when we should have just gotten one, I’ve had to go thru most of the rest of the episodes just looking at videos and some of them just seemed extremely lucky boards. I found 4026 especially challenging, and finally passed it with a lot of luck. Hope to see comments and tips from my fellow cc players this coming Wednesday.
wow ..a familar name...you are right.. I'm not seeing a lot of comments lately..where are sharon..carol ...the elder..Rick 75 .and even Gus and a buch if others...but you .are right ever since the infamous triple episode ...even this blog is sometimes hard to find... ..and maybe a lot of those people threatening to quit have done just that
Two episodes, then three and two again was a killer. Finally finished them with big loss of boosters. No hammers left. Hopefully one episode this week. Levels are getting really tough.
I don't know how there are people who have so much boosters... I've watched a video where the guy had more than 500 lolipops! How to they get so many boosters?

I once have got more than 800 lollipops
I played sugar drops twice a day for 6 years.
But after Kings has cancelled space dash and level reset,
I have almost used them up and only have 42 lollipops left now.
I think I will use the remaining lollipops up next week and quit CC.

If you are upset about getting 3 levels in one week, then just play 1 level and go back to your sugar drop fun until next Wednesday. Then play 1 level and repeat. Jeez
Started with CB combo, 13 moves to spare, on to the next episode...
Thankfully the last 5 or 6 levels have been achievable easily, at least with the stocking/build a bot. With all the new levels, I'm not trying to finish every week as I used to. It does take the pressure off! Many of us are spending a lot more time on Facebook with the Candy Crush Wednesday Club. Check us out if you are on Facebook. I too had close to 100 boosters last month & now 0.. I play SD twice daily & get 4/5 hammers if I’m LUCKY. I’m only NOW attempting 4040. Looks like I still have 2 more episodes to conquer & new level (s) this Wednesday. Agreed the pressure is off to even attempt to keep up now, honestly I barely dabble in this game anymore, there’s just no point. Way to go King, you really let down your loyal players. Hope you’re happy
I can not believe you people are complaining about 3 episodes? WTH play or don't play what is your problem. I personally like to keep playing I in fact laid off for a few weeks so I could keep playing.
I agree with wt u say... The issue here is dt games shud be fun to play not a pain which is happening now... They released three episodes found that it's way too easy to clear and within 2 days they changed the levels to make it's horrendously tough... The issue lies there nd the reason for the complaints

There's apparently a glitch. I won the game and the system didn't acknowledge it, so I am still stuck on it again.
Sucks.
Got through this without too much difficulty using full space dash (2 color bombs, 2 wrapped candies, 2 striped candies, and 3 bonus moves). The tips by Cookie and in the comments here are spot on. Powerful combinations are the way to go, and you don't necessarily have to clear all the blockers, just some of the licorice and popcorn (which yield color bombs that really assist in clearing the path for the cherries). Focus on color bomb combinations, particularly with wrapped candies. A wrapped + wrapped combination is also super helpful. Thanks again for all the tips, everyone, and happy crushing!
