Hints and tips showing how to pass level 4474 Candy Crush Saga without boosters by Cookie
Level 4474 is a straightforward jelly level. As with all jelly levels you can best complete it by making as many combos as you can, especially colourbomb combos.
You should concentrate on clearing the cake and this will clear a lot of remaining jelly. Use stripes and stripe/wrap combos to clear the licorice and once it is gone keep doing the same thing to clear the cake. Stripe/wrap combos from above may work better as there is less chance of the licorice getting in the way.

I concentrated on the right side to get the mystery candies falling. Once the chocolate is gone cascades will give you more stripes, wraps and choccy bombs to use. And yes, the top is easier to attack the cake from. There's jelly under the cake. Done on 3rd attempt with no boosters.
